TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Modularity - The Stiletto’s armament is capable of being optimized towards a variety of roles, from anti-armor, anti-infantry, air superiority, and yet more. Naturally, it goes without saying that changing loadouts necessitates that the aircraft land to rearm. Switching from one loadout to another is never possible on the fly.
  • Stealth - The Stiletto has a full suite of stealth systems, allowing it to maintain a virtually invisible sensor profile during most operating conditions, with more limited stealth capabilities during weapon discharges.
  • Supermaneuverability - Designed with extreme maneuverability as a primary objective, the Stiletto is a small and agile aircraft which is capable of executing dizzying maneuvers at intense speed. This feature is especially beneficial during dogfights, allowing the aircraft to dance around enemy fighters so as to quickly obtain a favorable position. In addition, the Stiletto can seamlessly transition to a hover from regular flight and vice versa. Used in tandem with the Pentozali Agility Array, a skilled pilot can blend the benefits of both flying modes to dazzling effect!
  • Firepower - A dearth of firepower is rarely a concern for the Stiletto’s pilots. Depending on the loadout, missiles, rockets, launched grenades, disruptor cannons, electromagnetic plasma cannons, energy torpedoes, and/or high-caliber autocannons may be at the pilot’s disposal, with the potential to destroy heavy walkers, tanks, and deal damage across an area of space equivalent to half the size of a typical city block in a single pass.
  • Electronic Control and Counteraction - The Stiletto has an ECM suite and inclusive countermeasures, giving the aircraft a good degree of protection from guided warheads or missiles.
  • Amphibian - The life support systems, electromotive field motors, and hydrostatic fields allow the Stiletto to traverse underwater and remain submerged for an indefinite period of time. In a pinch, this function could be used to hide from pursuing enemy forces or even to initiate a surprise attack!
WEAKNESSES
  • Outnumbered - The Stiletto is a rare, advanced craft and is never fielded in large quantities.
  • Ordnance - When carrying ordnance, such as launchable grenades, rockets, and missiles, there is a not-insignificant chance that a penetrating shot could set off a warhead, resulting in a sympathetic detonation that could destroy the craft outright.
  • Burn Wound - The Stiletto’s afterburners can only be sustained for a limited amount of time due to its intense power demands and potential to overheat the engines. At maximum, it can only be active for 20 consecutive seconds before it is automatically shut off, at which point the engines must undergo a mandatory heat discharge protocol. In addition, the aircraft can not use its weapons, with the notable exception of the gas launchers, while the afterburners are engaged.
  • Naked - Unfortunately, the Stiletto lacks combat shields, making the aircraft somewhat vulnerable to direct fire from vehicle or fighter-grade weapons, though its titanium hull can provide a very limited degree of protection.
  • Mechu-deru - An unspoken weakness of any complicated and advanced technology, the Stiletto is vulnerable to the dark sorceries of Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. As such, a skilled practitioner of such arts could feasibly disable the Stiletto, inflicting any number of technical malignancies or malfunctions.
  • Sensitive Passive Sensors - The passive sensor array on the hull of the Stiletto is an extreme boon to the pilot’s battlespace awareness, especially in conditions where the use of active sensors may reveal the aircraft’s location. However, they are also very vulnerable, as even glancing blows can destroy or disable the sensors on or around the affected areas. In essence, as the hull takes more hits, the Dream Sight’s passive reception array will become increasingly ineffective.
DESCRIPTION
Manufactured and developed by First United Astral Engineering, the FAE/eAV-04 “Stiletto” Atmospheric Attack Interceptor is a hybrid combat airspeeder designed as a stealthy, multirole atmospheric aircraft. Initially flown by Bella, who served as the primary test pilot over the course of the Stiletto's development, her input guided much of the craft's development, including its extreme maneuverability characteristics and high speed. The eAV-04 is considered to be an experimental prototype and as such is only produced in very limited numbers. However, the aircraft’s stealth capabilities, firepower, and agility make it a force multiplier with a return that might be far greater than its investment, especially when flown by a skilled pilot. While the Stiletto’s restricted production limits the number that can be responsibly deployed, even the presence of one of these machines can shift the tide of a battle, whether on the ground or in the skies.

All in all, the Stiletto represents the current apex of First United Astral Engineering’s design capabilities. It likely has few equals when it comes to performance.
