PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Railgun
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: 122mm rockets.
  • Ammunition Capacity: Average. Four 122mm rockets on the light vehicle version. Eight 122mm rockets on the medium/heavy vehicle version. Twelve 122mm rockets on starfighter version. Seventeen assault grade rockets on capital grade version.
  • Effective Range: Battlefield
  • Rate of Fire: High
  • Stopping Power: Average - Dependant on ordnance.
  • Recoil: High - Dependant on ordnance.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Targeting System Integration: The weapon uses the craft's onboard targeting system to measure distance from craft to target to set what sort of velocity the loaded ordnance needs to be accelerated to.
  • Different Variants: The MRP-01 has different variants for use on light vehicles, medium/heavy vehicles, starfighters and a capital grade version. The ammunition capacity for them is as follows:
    • Light Vehicle: Four 122mm rockets
    • Medium/Heavy Vehicle: Eight 122mm rockets
    • Starfighter: Twelve 122mm rockets
    • Capital Grade: Seventeen assault grade rockets
STRENGTHS
  • Long Range: The accelerator rails in the barrel can accelerate ordnance to increase their maximum range, allowing traditionally shorter ranged ordnance to be used at longer ranges.
  • Increased Penetration: The launch process does increase the penetration due to the increased launch velocity.
  • Increased Velocity: The ordnance gains a significant increase in velocity from the launcher.
WEAKNESSES
  • Vulnerable to EMP/Ion Damage: If the pod actually sustains enough EMP/Ion damage, it's accelerator rails will be permanently damaged, requiring a complete replacement of every affected launch tube.
  • Sympathetic Detonation: If a shot penetrates the launcher's casing, it could set off one or more rockets, potentially causing sympathetic detonation of all ordnance left in the launcher and thus considerable damage to the mounting platform.
  • Specific Ordnance: The launcher can only make use of 122mm rockets that are capable of having their engines set to delayed activation.
DESCRIPTION
Upon first glance of the , an untrained eye might simple assume that it is simply an oversized rocket pod, and they would be almost entirely correct. Only, the mass-driver obsessed weapons developers at Breshig War Forge Consolidated decided that they were going to make a magnetically accelerated variant of the standard rocket pod seen on vehicles and starfighters and thought they might as well scale one up and make a turreted version for capital ships. When he saw the number of mass-driver ordnance launchers passing his desk for final approval, Shuklaar decided that he would come and see what the launcher could do. When he saw what the anti-tank baradium rockets did to a hardened bunker after being fired out of one of these launchers, he needed no more convincing.

Like the MMOL-02 and MMOL-03C, the MRP-01 increased the range of ordnance, allowing traditionally shorter ranged ordnance to be used at longer ranges. Unlike the MMOL-series launchers, the MRP-01 did actually increase the penetration of ordnance fired out of it by a noteworthy amount. In addition, it increases the velocity of ordnance launched, decreasing time to target and decreasing the likelihood of target evasion.

Unfortunately, there are a few notable issues with the launcher. One of those is that being a rail weapon, if it does actually sustain an EMP/Ion damage, the accelerator coils will be fried and each affected launch tube. Another issue is that the launcher is usually mounted externally, and as such, a penetrating shot can potentially set off one or more rockets, potentially causing the other rockets to sympathetically detonate. The final issue with the launcher is that it can only use 122mm rockets whose engines can be set to delayed activation.

That said, the company has produced a great number of these launchers as well as spares, and has a decent selection of rockets that can be fired from the launcher.

As with this one, can you edit the recoil to be dependent upon the ordinances used? Secondly, since you do have a version for smaller craft, would there be a limitation on how large of a load the smaller craft could carry compared to the much larger variants?

I did see that yes. However, having it somewhere else clearly stated weaknesses or special features would be my best guess so then you don't have to worry about someone skimming the submission and use it incorrectly.

Its just to cover you so then if someone uses it incorrectly, you don't get smacked for it.
