- Functions as an anti-energy weapon aerosol which targets energy frequencies utilized in disruptors, lightsabers, and directed-energy weapons, destabilizing and subsequently neutralizing them to a relatively harmless state.
- Anti-Disruptor: Targeting the deadly nonharmonic energy frequencies utilized in virtually all types of disruptors, Pink Vapor is a supremely effective counter to disruptor-based weaponry, in spite of a few limitations due to the nature of its application. Disruptor bolts that pass through an aura of Pink Vapor are quickly neutralized towards a relatively harmless frequency, rendering their effect upon achieving a direct hit to be roughly as potent as a discharged taser.
- Anti-Energy: In addition to disruptors, Pink Vapor is also supremely effective against virtually all types of directed-energy weapons. Like its counterpart anti-laser aerosol, it will neutralize the power quotient of a direct hit from an energy weapon to be roughly as painful as a hard slap.
- Anti-Lightsaber: Pink Vapor is also supremely effective against lightsabers. While it will not short-circuit them in a manner similar to Cortosis, the gas has a very high chance of reducing their cutting power to be equivalent to that of a training lightsaber.
- Longevity: After being diffused in the air, Pink Vapor can remain viable for over five minutes before dispersing into an ineffective state.
- Limited Application: Pink Vapor is only viable when diffused in the air (or in a vacuum). It will almost always fail to neutralize the lethal properties of disruptors, energy weapons, and lightsabers when sprayed directly on armor or skin. As such, Pink Vapor is best utilized as cover in order to advance under heavy fire or when establishing a beachhead in enemy territory.
- Ambush: Due to the nature of its application, Pink Vapor is only effective when the operator is conscious of the direction from which incoming fire will originate because that is generally the only time it will ever be deployed. As such, the best counter to Pink Vapor is to ensure that an operator is neutralized before they can ever deploy it, whether that be through ambush, sniper attack, or even repositioning so that energy bolts strike the target at an uncovered angle.
- One-Trick Pony: The material provides no protection from kinetic, sonic, radiation, or EMP/Ion-based attacks.
- Double-Edged Shield: Use of the Pink Vapor will implicitly neutralize the user’s own energy weapons. In order to avert this, slugthrowers, CryoBan weaponry, and other forms of non-energy weaponry are recommended to be used in tandem with Pink Vapor.
Conceived in 861 ABY, Pink Vapor is part of a number of emergent anti-disruptor defensive technologies in response to the rapid proliferation of their usage in military applications. Designed with cues taken from anti-laser aerosol, Pink Vapor was concocted primarily to target disruptors. Like its counterpart, Pink Vapor can be deployed in an identical fashion, typically through canisters, vapor-diffusing grenades, missiles, or even mundane gas spraying machines.
Although designed to explicitly target disruptors, as an unintended, albeit welcome side effect, Pink Vapor is also supremely effective in neutralizing the power of lightsabers and non-disruptor energy weapons, typically blasters, particle beam rifles, and masers.
