STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Escort Carrier: The Bonteri-class Escort Carrier fits its role near-perfectly. It is able to carry a large complement of fighters and while it does not serve as a flagship or capital ship of any sort, it can perfectly support any fleet with extra fighters.
  • High Defenses: The Escort Carrier benefits from high defenses that allow it to tank extra damage while deploying its fighter complement.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow and Unwieldy: The Bonteri has poor acceleration and even poorer maneuvering capabilities, making it a slightly more unwieldy ship when compared to standard ships of its size.
  • Vulnerable Flank: The propulsion systems of the Bonteri are left vulnerable to flanking, where the firing arcs of weapon systems will not be able to adequately respond.
DESCRIPTION
Another fine example of the consistency and quality of starships crafted by the megacorporation, the Bonteri-class Escort Carrier is a ship designed by Roble Manufacturing to add to the growing modernization of Confederacy fleets. The design philosophy of the Bonteri is centered around its fighter complement, and the escort carrier is meant to be a fleet support ship that is able to supplant a fleet with an extra host of fighters and small starcraft.

In total, the Bonteri has a complement of nine fighter squadrons. This hangar space can be configured in any way that a commanding officer sees fit, but a standard complement will consist of six squadrons of the Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droids, Mk III, and three squadrons of Colla-class Droid Tri-Fighters. This configuration allows a Bonteri's complement to serve adequality in both anti-capital and anti-fighter roles. Indeed, its complement of fighters is the carrier's biggest asset. When it comes to actually armament, the Bonteri isn't exactly lacking, but it doesn't have much to boast of either. An average offensive armament allows it to, if necessary, serve in a more aggressive anti-capital role while its high defenses allow it to tank incoming damage. Its biggest weaknesses lie in its speed, maneuverability, and its vulnerability to flanking.

Altogether, however, the Bonteri is quite capable and daresay exemplary, even, at the role it was designed for and will no doubt be an asset for future naval fleets.
