ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Swarm Tactics: Each Vulture Droid squadron sums up to a total of twenty-four individual fighters, and in most situations this allows the starfighter to overwhelm the enemy with superior numbers and firepower, quickly seizing victory before an enemy has can put up much of a resistance. In addition, the MXC-T19 Ark Sensor Scrambler confuses sensors and tracker systems into thinking there are more ships than there actually are, creating an even larger swarm.
  • All-Around Fighter: With sophisticated dogfighting protocols and weaponry suited for a wide range of targets, the Vulture Droid is a suitable fighter for many different kinds of engagement. Four laser cannons serve as effective measures against other fighters, while its flex tube launcher allows the fighter to carry both anti-fighter, anti-capital ship and anti-emplacement weaponry. The flexibility of the Vulture Droid allows for commanders using the model a similar level of flexibility in tactics and strategy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Solo Flying: When it isn't surrounded by friendly fighters, the Vulture Droid amounts to being an altogether average fighter, and can make it easier for point-defense systems or experience pilots to pick off.
  • Just a Fighter: Without a hyperdrive or fuel for long-range flight, the starfighter must rely on starships on ground side bases for continuous resupply and support. The Vulture Droid lacks the means of intergalactic travel, and thus ships with hangar bays must be utilized to transfer the fighter from one system to the next.
DESCRIPTION
The Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid line of starfighter has been an iconic design throughout the centuries of galactic military history. First fielded by the original Trade Federation as a part of their asset security and enforcement fleet, the starfighter was seen as the flagship model of a wave of different droid fighters that would enter the battlefield soon after. The starfighter would continue to serve in the navies of different galactic governments and fringe organizations, with new models upgrading firmware, armaments, and fixing various design flaws. The latest iteration of the starfighter, produced by Roble Manufacturing, holds true to the long and storied heritage of the Vulture Droid.

The entire premise of the droid starfighter is strength in numbers; the Vulture Droid is meant to overwhelm with superior numbers, not superior firepower. This does not mean that the starfighter is weak by itself, however, with an RMD-9F Anhur Droid Brain acting as the central processing unit of the droid fighter, making the thousands of individual necessary calculations per-second just to keep the fighter aloft. The Anhur is an extremely sophisticated model of droid brain, helping the fighter coordinate and fly better along with is hundreds of identical brothers. A miniaturized Tyr tactical command network broadcaster also assists in coordination, making electronic communication between fighters and its parent ship or base almost instantaneous.

The Vulture Droid is also designed to be a jack-of-all-trades, with abilities to perform well in almost every kind of role a starfighter would feasibly take on during battle. Four laser cannons act as suitable anti-fighter weapons for the Vulture Droid to use in dogfighting and strafing, while it's LS4 Cavalier flex tube launcher allows the Vulture Droid to equip a wide variety of ordnances depending on mission requirements, whether it be ion bomb to disable a star destroyer or proton torpedoes to serve as extra anti-fighter weapons. All in all, the Vulture Droid is an extremely agile, capable and variable model of droid starfighter that, when paired with hundreds of its own kind, will overwhelm any opponent it faces.
