PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • More efficient converters allow for a higher exhaust release, making the fuel consumption of starships more cost-effective.
  • Insulation materials prevent heat and radiation from being emitted from the ion drives, both making the ion drives safer for organic mechanical crews and making the heat-exhaust propulsion system of the RX-D13X more efficient.
  • Heat-resistant alloys prevent warping of the RX-D13X from high temperatures, enabling the RX-D13X able to perform at higher exhaust rates and thus increasing the maximum speed that can be achieved via the ion drives.
  • Liquid-Aenite coating, Duranium and Alusteel all protect the RX-D13X from external damage.
  • The RX-D13X is much smaller and able to produce concentrated bursts of exhaust, allowing for more precision maneuvering than big thrusters or ion drives. Its small size also allows it to be installed on smaller sized ships.
STRENGTHS
  • Fast, Efficient, and Reinforced: If one thing can be said about the RX-D13X, it's that it gets the job done. Insulation prevents heat escaping via metal tubing, heat-resistant alloys in turn raise the max temperature that the RX-D13X can take without internal damage, and efficient power converters make fuel-consumption more cost effective. In addition to that, the RX-D13X is protected by three layers of different materials; alusteel, military-grade duranium and finally a coating of liquid aenite.
  • Small and Precise: The RX-D13X is a very small thruster that is designed for either precision movements on large starships or to be the primary thruster aboard starfighter-sized craft. Either way, it is very effective in performing its prescribed role.
WEAKNESSES
  • Where's the Calvary: The RX-D13X is designed for precision maneuvering and small ships, and as a result is not able to produce the necessary power to efficiently accelerate large starships on its own.
DESCRIPTION
Unlike its companion propulsion system, the RX-D13X Precision Drive for starters is much more smaller, both in physical size and overall power output. On larger starships, the RX-D13X is designed to act as a precise-maneuver propulsion system that works to increase maneuverability while a ship's main ion drives or other engines handle basic acceleration; in these cases, the RX-D13X is unable to produce enough exhaust to efficiently accelerate a large starship in realspace. However, in smaller starfighter-sized ships the RX-D13X is able to function as the main propulsion system, both with efficient and increased output as well as heightened maneuverability.
