OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a powerful defensive shield system that can protect a ship from all kinds of conventional weaponry.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Eir Defense System both has increased power generation due to it's Sybarium crystal power generator and is protected from overheating by SACG-23S shock-absorbent gel.
  • The Eir Defense System creates a polarized magnetic distortion field that disrupts particle weapons and slows kinetic projectiles, lessening their impact.
  • The defense system can generate a numerous of different shield categories, including: standard deflector shielding, particle shielding, ray shielding, molecular shielding, radiation shielding, and atmospheric-friction shielding. All of these types can be activated all at once, one at a time, or different types be activated in conjuction with one another.
  • Creating a neutron-positive field around the hull of the ship, the Eir Defense System partially dissipates ion and laser-based weaponry, reducing effectiveness and total damage.
  • The Eir Defense System comprises of multiple individual generators spread out through the ship (the number being specific to the ship in question) which allows for a more fuller coverage of the ship's profile.
  • The shield bubbles generated by the Eir Defense System overlap each other, and if one generator is damaged then generators overlapping its bubble can figuratively take the load.
STRENGTHS
  • Share the Burden: The Eir Defense System is installed with multiple generators throughout the ship, creating multiple individual shield bubbles around the ship in question. This means that if one generator overloads and is incapacitated then the ship's overall shields aren't necessarily compromised.
  • Pick and Choose: The different types of shielding the Eir Defense System offers can be toggled on and off individually, from having only one running to all of them at the same time. This makes the defense system's power consumption in situations where only certain types of shielding are needed to protect a ship (primarily when a ship is not in combat).
  • Slow Zone: A polarized magnetic field is created by the Eir Defense System (when activated) that slows incoming projectiles from kinetic-based weapons, lessening their damage on impact.
  • Bye Bye Ion (And Lasers): The Eir Defense System creates a neutron-positive field (similar to it's polarized magnetic field) that partially dissipates ion and laser beams, which reduces their overall damage and effectiveness.
  • Swiss Army Shield: The multitude of different shielding types that the Eir Defense System employs makes it an all-around shield generator that can be used in a variety of unique situations, and reduces the need of installing different shield generators and the complexities that arise from doing such.
  • Increased Power Generation: The Sybarium Crystal power generator located in the shield generators of the Eir Defense System increase the system's overall power generation, making it more efficient and less fuel consuming than other power generators.
WEAKNESSES
  • Magnets Can't Do Everything: The polarized magnetic field created by the Eir Defense System has no effect on rocket-propelled warheads (torpedoes, missiles, etc.) and thus is not an effective counter to those certain missiles. Similarily, kinetic projectiles with rounds that are not magnetic/have very little magnetism.
  • Difficult to Repair: Because of the complex and multi-faceted construction of the Eir Defense System, it is extremely challenging to make repairs to a generator or the entire defense system once the generators are compromised. Any repairs require the ship in question to be docked and a full garage's worth of tools and toys to get it functioning again.
  • Turn it On: Although the different shield types that the Eir Defense System can project can be toggled on and off individually, it takes some time (one post from physically turning it on) for shield types that were off to power on. This leaves ships using the Eir Defense System vulnerable to ambush if they toggle off elements of the defense system.
  • Too Much: In addition to the lag that comes when powering on an individual shield type, trying to power on more than three shield types at the same time could result in a top-heavy powerflow through the shield generators and potentially compromise the entire system.
  • Needs Friends: The Eir Defense System is more effective the more generators that the ship is able to fit, effectively meaning that the smaller the ship, the smaller the effectiveness of the defense system.
  • Power Consumption: Sybarium Crystal power generators aside, the Eir Defense System does use an enormous amount of energy and thus a ship's overall power generation needs to be adequate enough to include the defense system.
  • Ka-BOOM: Given the explosive properties of the Sybarium Crystal, generators that are compromised have the risk of exploding with a sizeable amount of force, which could cause serious internal damage for a ship.
DESCRIPTION
Roble Manufacturing's first-ever shielding system, the MRS-01 Eir Defense System is essentially multiple shield generators rolled into one. With standard deflector shielding, particle shielding, ray shielding, molecular shielding, radiation shielding and atmospheric-friction shielding as well as polarized-magnetic and neutron-positive fields, the Eir is truly a multi-comprehensive defensive system suitable for a number of different situations. Ships with the defensive system installed are able to choose which shields are activated at which time, and can toggle various types on and off (although there is a delay for powering on a shield).

Although there are some drawbacks to the system, as it is possible for a compromised generator to explode in a highly-destructive fashion and smaller ships cannot install the defensive system as effectively, the Eir is still a very well-rounded defensive system ideal for any capital ship that wishes to protect itself from getting crushed into fine dust particles.

You do not have the shock gel listed/linked in your materials.

This strength is quite power in the fleeting world. I am currently not comfortable with how it stands. I recommend adding another one or two weaknesses that could directly correlate with the strength.

Link added.

As for the Weakness, I included the bottom one for that particular strength, and the top one (which was already there) already correlates to that strength. How does it look?
