OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: 173rd "The Myrmidons" Legion | The Exiles' Legion
  • Affiliation:
  • Classification: Elite Stormtrooper Legion
  • Description: The Myrmidons are the personal Legion of the Warlord of Nirauan, formed out of a plethora of veteran stormtroopers who found themselves without a Legion home after their defection from the Zambrano Empire and the further disintgeration of multiple divisions during the bloody battle for Muunilinst and Mygeeto. Rather than utilizing his resources to create a standard-sized Legion, Lucien Dooku would instead opt to keep their numbers at a minimum, instead relying on his cadre of veteran Stormtrooper and Mandalorians to mold his Legion into an elite and versatile force. Specializing in nothing in particular, the Myrmidons are constantly training to maintain maximum readiness to accompany their Jedi Commander in any situation that the bold Jedi might decide to undertake. Whether that's serving as the vanguard in a major battle, or descending from the skies behind enemy lines, the 173rd are almost a mandatory sighting on the battlefield whenever Lucien is present and not on special assignment.

Their loyalty to their Commander goes even further than just their common loyalty to the Order, as the Myrmidons have even accompanied Lucien outside the realm of its open war against the Sith, as seen during their covert-participation during the Sons of Mandalore's intervention in the Sith war against the Network. Their loyalties to both Lucien and the Legion take precedent over their loyalties to the Order, although this aspect of the Legion is a discreet fact known only to those within the ranks of the Myrmidons solely. Regardless, the 173rd can still be considered loyalists to the Order despite the ties which bond themselves to their Legion and Commander being greater.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
Strengths:
  • Elite Legion
  • Highly versatile functionality
  • Rapid Reaction Capabilities
  • Adamantine Willpower
Weaknesses:
  • Special Selection - Very low manpower
  • Reliant on external forces for heavy/air support
  • Tight-knit brotherhood - Wary of outsiders
  • Loyalty of the Tenth - Loyal to Lucien Dooku & themselves first, the New Imperial Order second.

Commissioned by the New Imperial Order at the behest of Lucien Dooku, while officially a Legion as per the New Imperial command structure, the 173rd is in actuality the size of a brigade at most, regardless of its name. Consisting of an amalgamation of veteran stormtroopers, the vast majority of its personnel can be traced back to the initial batch of defectors who came to Nirauan after the onset of the Third Imperial Civil War. Its capabilities have been further augmented with the inclusion of a cadre of mercenaries from the Sons of Mandalore, who serve as an integral group in the formation of the Legion's training and tactical doctrines.

Specializing in nothing in particular, the smallest of the Order's Stormtrooper Legions is capable of fighting in most situations, and it excels in situations where its commander is leading them from the front. Whether it's fighting a mobile battle of speeders, serving in a shock role on the front lines, or HALO jumping onto the battlefield with jetpacks, the 173rd lives up to its namesake as the Myrmidons, as no matter the mission parameters, where Luc leads, they follow.

The entire command staff of the 173rd consists of the surviving stormtroopers from "Crest Section", the predecessor to the 173rd, who were among the survivors of that unit after its Pyrrhic victory alonside Lucien at the Battle of Muunilinst. Having fought with these men since the beginning, Luc has developed a strong bond with most of his commanders, and treats all the men men under his command as equals. In return the 173rd. has developed a deep sense of loyalty towards their Jedi Commander, perhaps even dangerously so in the eyes of his peers within the Order itself.
