  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - As is common on many vessels designed and developed by Von Sorenn Industries; the Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is outfitted with a piece of technology that maintains an ablative current that courses through the hull. This current assists in the removal of harmful debris and substances, lessening damage to the hull, and increasing its overall longevity.

  • MXC-T18 Tyr Tactical Command Network - A secure communications suite that allows for protected encrypted messages to be sent between individual devices within a fleet. Assists in managing fleet movement, sharing data, sensor scans, and communications between vessels.

  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - A series of boosters that assist in providing Deflector shields with additional endurance, as well as expanding their operational range.

  • Automation - Much of the vessel is heavily automated, requiring only a small number of organic individuals to operate the vessel.

  • Guardians - The vessel itself seems to be inhabited by Humanoid-like Droids that patrol the interior of the vessel and protect it from harm within. While their origin is not entirely known, they often appear to be wearing a multitude of various armors and identify themselves as Hunter, Titan, or Warlock.

  • Elysium Model 2 Atmospheric Processor - The Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is outfitted with a specialized Terraforming device that is utilized by the vessel to assist in seeding or repairing worlds that had been damaged due to pollution, biological, or other catastrophic events.

  • Core Ship - The Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is, in many facets, a souped-up Core Ship. Capable of carrying three times as many droids than a standard Core Ship; as well as additional personnel and supplies, the vessel is more than enough on its own to hold and secure a planet.

  • The ‘Traveler’ - A seemingly Benevolent entity that resides within the vessel’s circuitry, it seems to have no problem with the Confederacy’s personnel and droids operating the vessel. Likewise, this entity is the apparent creator of the Guardians - utilizing the vessel’s myriad of automated systems to construct them for its own internal protection. Its exact nature is unknown, however, it is known to have an innate desire to keep the vessel intact and often assists the crew in everyday tasks.

  • Automation - Much of the vessel is automated to limit the needed number of organic crew. However, a sustained Ion or EMP assault on the vessel has the potential to render these automated systems inoperable or otherwise destroyed. This would result in less than the optimal operation of the vessel as the remaining organic crew would not be sufficient enough.

  • Turning in September… 20XX - While capable of turning - not forced to travel only in a straight line - doing so takes hours, if not days to initiate and properly execute said turn.

  • Broadside of a Mountain - You’re not going to miss it - just point your cannons and fire. In fact, if you do miss it, we’ll frankly be amazed and also recommend seeing an optical specialist for a check-up.

  • Guardians - While the interior of the vessel is defended by these Humanoid-like Droids, they are incapable of operating outside of the vessel. Numerous attempts to have the guardians operate outside have resulted in them shutting down or terminating.

  • Thermal Exhaust Port - Located near the terraforming unit, if struck, the possibility of a chain reaction is high. This can potentially damage the internal structure of the vessel, or otherwise, destroy key components within the vessel that would prevent it from functioning optimally.

  • Elysium Model 2 Atmospheric Processor - In order for the Terraforming Device to be properly utilized, it must be extended from the vessel - a process that takes roughly an hour. Once the device is activated, it cannot be easily shut down, leaving it exposed and vulnerable to attack. Likewise, the vessel itself is incapable of moving once the system has been deployed, rendering it exposed.

  • Exposed System - With the Terraforming Device fully deployed, the internal structure and systems of the vessel around the device are exposed. In order to cover them once more, the device must be shut off and retracted within the vessel; which is a costly and time-consuming endeavor.

  • Atmospheric Shields - In order to properly deploy and operate the Terraforming Device, the vessel must be within a planet, moon, or other stellar body’s ‘atmosphere’. Even with its extensive defensive measures, it experiences a strain on its shielding systems. Though equipped with atmospheric shields, these are not enough to withstand a substantial, sustained attack on the vessel.

  • Energy Draining - With the Atmospheric Processor deployed and actively operating, the energy required drains power from other systems. When the Processor is active, the vessel’s shields are greatly weakened (more so than just simply being in the atmosphere) and half of its weapons cease to function - lacking the necessary power to operate them.

The Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is a vessel of duality; on one hand, it holds the capability to destroy a world, equipped with hundreds of weapons, and capable of ferrying hundreds of Starfighters, Droids, and War Material - yet, on the other hand, it is a seeder, a gardener that carefully cultivates barren and lifeless worlds into verdant paradises. The vessel itself is a massive spherical structure, and in many ways, it can easily be called a super-sized Core Ship. Capable of carrying three times as many droids, personnel, and equipment as a standard Core Ship, the vessel can hold a world on its own just as easily as it can with a fleet at its back. Held within the massive construct, is a miraculous piece of technology; the Elysium Model 2 Atmospheric Processor - a Terraforming machine utilized to make those worlds that are otherwise inhabitable, a world of life and progress. However, this system has just as many drawbacks that counter its otherwise useful nature.

In order to properly utilize the Elysium Terraformer, the vessel itself must be in the atmosphere - or what passes as such - of the planet, moon, or stellar object. This is the first drawback, that while in atmosphere, the vessel’s shields are greatly weakened; which is only further espoused upon when the power consumption of operating the Elysium Terraformer is taken into account. When active, the system draws power away from all aspects of the Super Star Destroyer, resulting in its shields becoming even weaker, and half of its weapon systems shutting down due to a lack of power. Likewise, the system itself becomes vulnerable, as the armor plating of the vessel slips away to reveal and deploy the Elysium Terraformer, both the Terraformer itself, and the internal structure and components of the Super Star Destroyer become exposed, making for easy targets. To counter this, the vessel focuses its defenses in these areas, as well as traveling with an escort fleet when on missions that involve terraforming a world to make it liveable or correct some catastrophic event that has otherwise damaged the planet.

While the Terraformer is operational, it generates a great deal of heat; this heat is drawn away from the system via a Thermal Exhaust Port on the vessel - and much like the Death Star - this port can be utilized to cause catastrophic damage to the vessel, the Terraformer, or both. Additionally, its sheer size makes it all but impossible to miss - as all one needs to do is point their cannons in its general direction and they’re more than likely going to strike the vessel. After all, its slow speed and its lack of any kind of maneuverability means that it isn’t capable of avoiding enemy fire as easily as other vessels.

Like many Confederacy vessels, the Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is highly automated, with a number of its sections and systems seeing a marked lack of an organic crew - which allows them to focus on more specialized tasks and areas as needed. This though can be detrimental, as a prolonged, successive Ion or EMP attack on the vessel can render many of these automated systems inert or destroyed, resulting in a less than optimal operation of the vessel given its lack of organic crew to pick up the slack and take over these systems and sections.

One of its more unusual strengths lie within the unique humanoid-like droids that seem to inhabit the vessel; calling themselves ‘Guardians’, they patrol the internal structure of the vessel as if an immune system, protecting the Super Star Destroyer from internal harm. Often identified themselves by monikers such as Hunter, Titan, or Warlock; however, these droids have proven incapable of operating outside of the vessel, often going inert or terminating once outside of the Vessel. This uniqueness - be it designed by those that constructed the vessel - or constructed by the vessel after the fact, seems to bring into question the original creators of the vessel’s design outside of those that constructed it for the Confederacy.

Much like the Winnower-class Super Star Destroyer’s own ‘Spirit’, the Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer seems to have attracted an entity that has taken up residence within the vessel. Calling itself ‘The Traveler’, it is the apparent origin point of the Guardians, designed to protect itself - as it seems to have an innate desire and drive to keep the vessel intact, both inside and out. This seemingly Benevolent entity often assists the crew in their everyday tasks and doesn't mind the presence of the Confederacy’s personnel and droids within the vessel.

With added defenses including multiple GalaxyGuards to improve the endurance and range of its Deflector Shields as well as a Damage Reduction Armor Component - often seen on a multitude of vessels produced by Von Sorenn Industries - it is capable of protecting itself against a variety of strikes. Its own defensive capabilities are further augmented with a series of anti-missile countermeasures, flak cannons, point defense cannons, and additional shielding systems to provide overlapping protections. It is still more than capable of launching a retaliatory - or first strike - against an enemy with relative ease, given that the vessel is equipped with multitude of weapons arrayed across its hull. From Quad Turbolasers and Laser Cannons to Projectile launchers including Mass Driver Cannons; it is even equipped with a number of Ion weapons and Tractor Beam Projectors in the instance that a vessel is needed to be disabled for capture, or recovered from an engagement.

All in all, to summarize, the Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer is a massive, mobile terraforming platform, capable of fielding a large number of droids, personnel, and equipment to protect itself and its interest when working on seeding or repairing damaged worlds.
