OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a powerful anti-capital missile silo with accurate targeting and efficient reload systems.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Roble Manufacturing
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market
  • Model: LS1 Hailfire Missile Launcher
  • Modularity: Ammunition can be changed as long as it is a type of missile or torpedo, and total ammunition storage is dependent on the ship in question.

  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Durasteel, Electronics, Targeting Sensors
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Missile Launcher
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Any type of Missile
  • Ammunition Capacity: 16 Missiles per Volley (Total Ammunition is variable, conditioned on a ship's design).

  • Reload Speed: Fast
  • Effective Range: N/A
  • Rate of Fire: Fast
  • Stopping Power: N/A
  • Recoil: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Hailfire missile launcher features a fast-reload system that allows for volley after volley to be fired from the missile launcher at a constant rate.
  • The Hailfire missile launcher can interface with a ship's targeting sensors and be remotely controlled from a separate (but nearby) location.
  • The Hailfire missile launcher can be armed with virtually any sort of missile, although the launcher performs poorly as a means of anti-fighter defense.
  • The total storage of the Hailfire missile launcher is variable and can be adjusted per a ship's design.
STRENGTHS
  • Efficient Reload and Storage: The Hailfire missile launcher can quickly and efficiently reload missiles, allowing for faster rates of fire. The storage of the Hailfire missile launcher is also dependent on the ship's storage capabilities, making it more modular for a ship's design.
  • Let's See Them Targets: The Hailfire missile launcher can interface with a ship's targeting systems and be remotely controlled from a nearby location, increasing variability and convenience of where the missile launcher can be placed.
  • Flexible: The Hailfire missile launcher can be outfitted with nearly any type of missile or torpedo.
WEAKNESSES
  • Look out for Fighters: The Hailfire Missile Launcher lacks the fast-tracking capabilities and mobility to act as a competent point-defense or anti-fighter system.
  • Fixed Position: The missile silos of the Hailfire are set in fixed position, somewhat limiting it's targeting capabilities.
  • One at a Time: Although it can be loaded with different types of missiles, each Hailfire missile launcher can only be outfitted with one type of missile at a time.
DESCRIPTION
A powerful and efficient missile silo, the LS1 Hailfire Missile Launcher was designed by Roble Manufacturing to be a primarily anti-capital missile delivery system that could quickly reload, fire, and reload again a variety of missiles. Although it is very poor as an anti-fighter missile system and it's fixed position limits its targeting capabilities somewhat, it is a very efficient anti-capital weapon that when paired with an effective missile, can wreck havoc among enemy starships.
