Sakadi Marathi Sinvala, born 744 ABY, was a prodigious female Sephi opera singer. She was robbed of her voice in 813 ABY, which caused her to seek out the Jedi Order. She quickly rose through their ranks and became a powerful Jedi Master and member of the High Council during the years of the Elder Compact. She would go on to play a pivotal role in the Silver Jedi Concord, until she laid down her function after the massacre on Ossus. Sakadi was re-elected by Grandmaster Kiara Ayres during the war against the Bryn'adûl, and continues to serve as a member of the Council until present day.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

"Truth be told, he never considered the hardships and the burdens of what it would be like to live a long life, establishing bonds and losing them over and over again. It seemed... so exhausting. It made him wonder if that was why Sakadi herself acted the way she did."
- Cas Tynen

Sakadi’s mutism has played a defining role in her life. It has made her a reclusive and somewhat distant individual, but those who allow her to reach out telepathically know her as lively and talkative. She is generally friendly and kind to most people she meets, but she can also be very passive aggressive depending on one's attitude and actions.

Sakadi's stronger urges and emotions have been tempered a great deal by her age and experience. It made her grow aloof and dissonant serene over time, as she rarely expresses her true feelings. This makes her intent often hard to gauge, causing many to view her as unpredictable and fickle.

As a mentor and Jedi Master, Sakadi prefers to teach the hard way. She presents students with difficult and menacing obstacles, only ever stepping in when things actually go wrong. Sakadi enjoys teasing and testing less-experienced Jedi than her, but in the end always shows a sister-like care for those who have the pleasure of meeting her.

While she is both shrewd and decisive, it is far from apparent in her personal life. Once she is confronted with something that stirs up unwanted emotions, Sakadi tends to run instead of confronting her own inner turmoil.

S T R E N G T H S- &- F L A W S

S T R E N G T H S
Ace
She considers it a curse disguised as a blessing, but most things come natural to Sakadi. This is most notably reflected in her old career, and her connection to the Force.
Handicapped badass
Rendered unable to use her voice, Sakadi has sought out different ways to communicate instead. This made her versatile and knowledgeable on numerous Force techniques.
Telepath
Sakadi is a powerful and incredibly skilled telepath, although she prefers to use her mind-affecting abilities as little as possible.
Arbitrarily large bank account
She kept it quiet, but Sakadi has amassed quite a bit of wealth.

F L A W S
Stoic Woobie
The past left her broken. She is in many ways haunted by it, but she won't ever talk about, nor accept the pity of others.
Lonely Among People
She spent her youth in isolation and lost her voice later on. This has led to Sakadi living a bit in a world of her own, and the tendency to keep her distance from others.

P H Y S I C A L- A P P E A R A N C E

"He was half way into his Ruby Blitz, his eyes glancing between his drink and the Jedi Master he'd be working with. She was certainly pretty, but inital attempts to hit on her either fell flat or were ignored."
- Fillion Orville

"Not too far away was an almost ethereal Sephi -- even at a short distance she could tell the woman was a Jedi and far from inexperienced. Auteme was beginning to believe that the Force allowed Jedi Masters to stay supernaturally attractive no matter their age. The Sephi was straight from a dream, potentially of the moist variety."
- Auteme Denko-Durren

"Before they could make it past the doors, they were met by someone Saraya could only assume was a Master. She was rather breathtaking to look at. Lavender skin with eyes to match, and a head full of hair that mirrored moonlight on a cloudless night."
- Saraya Arenais

Her appearance can best be described as elegant, dignified and tranquil. Her beauty has not deteriorated over time, and her soft lavender complexion and smooth white hair still make her a striking figure to many. Sakadi is lithe and graceful in her movements, her posture nothing short of excellent. She carries herself with the dignity and sophistication of a lady but has an underlying, almost predatory grace to her. She greets many with a warm yet distant smile, while her intelligent iridescent eyes calmly take in every detail. It is a combination of these many subtle traits that make her appearance enchanting and hard to forget.

Sakadi dresses in simple snow white Jedi robes, foregoing the flashy armor that some Jedi prefer to wear. Her only means of bodily protection are the cosaint bracers made for her by Coren Starchaser.

P O W E R S- &- A B I L I T I E S

"She saw the Jedi's glowing presence and silently knew that there was no way she could ever hope to defeat that in her sorry state. A small bit of envy flowing through her head as she looked at the elegance and precision to her technique."
- Amur

Lightsaber Training.
Over the course of her Jedi career Sakadi has, despite pursuing the path of Consular, been forced to rely on her skill with the lightsaber. As someone not fond of hammering blows, Sakadi has adapted her style to one of speed and agility. She has studied the tenets of Ataru, Makashi and Niman, blending these Forms together in a single, reliable style of combat. She incorporates the acrobatics of Ataru to evade and reposition, incorporates the economical and precise moves of Makashi in her bladework, and controls a fight through use of the Force, instead of power strikes.

Use of these Forms makes her a well-rounded and accomplished duelist, but not one without flaws. Her lightsaber techniques offer little in terms of defense against blaster bolts, and kinetic strikes make it difficult for her to endure long duels.

Force Abilities.
Sakadi has dedicated most of her life to studying the Force. Staying true to the Jedi principles, she employs her honed skills for knowledge and defense only. Like most other Force users, she is capable of physical augmentation and telekinesis. But her true expertise lies with mental and sensory Force abilities, and she is well-versed in defensive applications of the Force.

Sakadi is, most of all, an incredibly powerful mentalist. She uses telepathy to overcome her mutism, and has perfected the art. She has utilized her mind-affecting abilities to recover memories, spy, convey feelings, tame beasts, disrupt concentration, cleanse minds, breach language barriers, and cast or defend against illusions.

Her mastery over the mental aspect of the Force is derived from her skill with Force Sense, which greatly complements her telepathy. She has shown to be capable of detecting the Force in objects, people, and locations, as well as being able to discern its nature.

Her tertiary field of study is that of ancient warding techniques against the Dark side. While far more theoretical than most of her other fields of expertise, Sakadi has learnt how to identify and dismantle Force artefacts or other objects and even locations from the Dark side's corruption.

Birth and childhood (744-812 ABY)
Sakadi Marathi Sinvala was born on Isobe in 744 ABY, near the end of the four hundred year darkness. She was a prodigious singer with an angelic voice, who rapidly gained fame through opera spectacles. It brought great prosperity to the Sinvala family, but hardship and sorrow to Sakadi herself. For her parents forced her to pursue a career in entertainment, resulting in a strict and isolated childhood. Her gift began to feel like a curse, as the young Sephi was imprisoned by her own talents.

Sakadi would go on to become one of the most famous and rich people in the Thustran sector at the height of her career, until its eventual collapse in 812 ABY

End of Career and Presumed Death (812-813 ABY)
In her late teenage years, Sakadi began to seek out the freedom she longed for. She regularly fled deep into backwater alleys after her performances to lose her parents and the paparazzi. This reckless behaviour had disastrous results, as the celebrity one day got caught up in a violent heist. It would mark the end of her career, as a stray slug pierced her neck and throat and near-fatally wounded her. Through expensive and advanced surgery her life was saved, but her voice was lost.

Her parents blamed her for ruining her own career and grew distant and dismissive of their daughter in her greatest time of need. Feeling lost and abandoned, Sakadi ran away from home. To cover up this scandal, her parents announced that she, the Thustran Queen of the Opera, had died in her coma.

Roaming the Mid-Rim (813-815 ABY)
Because the Sephi had received little to no exposure to the outside world, she had difficulties adapting to her new nomadic lifestyle. The former celebrity got scammed robbed, went days without a roof or a proper meal, and could share her thoughts with no one at all.

Her struggle came to an end when a brown-cloaked man approached her. He informed her of a gift she had, one she could use to aid others like her if she were willing to further develop it. Reluctantly, but with nowhere else to go, Sakadi accepted his offer.

Early Service in the Order. (815-835 ABY)
Taken to the Silver Jedi’s Temple on Kashyyyk, Sakadi entered the academy there and spent the next decade studying the Jedi code and the ways of the Force. After graduating, she was taken as a Padawan by a Jedi Guardian to complete her training. After passing her Trials of Knighthood, she ascended to the rank of Jedi Knight.

Deciding to pursue the path of the Consular, Sakadi would serve as a Jedi Knight until the fall of the Omni and the end of the Clockwork Rebellion. Realizing that she had grown dangerously close to the Dark side of the Force, Sakadi took the Barash Vow to realign herself with the Light Side.

Self-Exile on Shili (835-857 ABY)
Monastery.jpg
Having taken the vow, Sakadi would stay out of galactic affairs for more than two decades. She would follow the beckoning call of the Force to Shili, where she remained to study the Jedi Code and the few holocrons she had been permitted to take with her. Sakadi would construct a small monastery on Shili, where she would take refuge for many years.

The Sephi would frequently be drawn off world, her aid requested by nearby planets and local populations. Either to protect and heal them, or act as a mediator between warring states. She performed the work of a Jedi Knight, without the Order's restrictions. Through her self-exile and newfound independence, Sakadi grew not only as a person, but also increased her knowledge of, and connection to the Force.

She would return to the Galactic stage near the end of the Great War after sensing the fall of the Alliance through the Force. Regaining her status as a Knight of the Silver Jedi, Sakadi would help the Silver Jedi aid what was left of their now crumbled ally.

Jedi Master and Mentor (857-860 ABY)
Shortly after resuming her duties as a Jedi, Sakadi's wisdom and control over the Force were recognized by the Council. She was raised to the rank of Jedi Master, and would go on to complete many challenging assignments for the Silver Jedi Order.

While her equipment may very depending on the mission, she typically carries her lightsaber as only weapon with her. Her lightsaber has an elegant design. A single piece of sleek silver-white electrum, ornamented with a titanium-gold alloy. The colour of her blade is bright white, originating from the white kyber crystal within.

On rare occasions, Sakadi wields a blue double-bladed lightsaber instead. The long cylinder hilt of undecorated platinum once belonged to her master and mentor, who passed away during the Clockwork Rebellion.

Other equipment carried by Sakadi is fastened to her brown utility belt. Tools and equipment she typically brings are a rebreather device, a 30-meter long fibercord, a simple translator device, a holoprojector, two pouches and food and energy capsules.

Some of Sakadi's 'story arcs' can be found below, each highlighting a couple of threads with importance to her story.

Mentor & Apprentice

"So, I appeared in your dream. What do you think this implies?"

Jedi Master Sakadi Sinvala awakens from her three-week long comatose, her slumber finally ended by a young Jedi named Cadere Cadere . The regular visits and conversations that followed would mark the beginning of a long friendship as Master and Padawan. Together, they faced the likes of criminals, thugs and Dark Jedi, until Cas eventually ascended to Knighthood. Believing him not to be ready, however, the Jedi Master had a prodigious Padawan assigned to her former student in order to teach him one last lesson: responsibility.

"We have been discovered. And... I think I found Mi'la"

While continuing to play a key role in the development of her former student, Sakadi would take on a new Padawan of her own. A young Twi'lek by the name of Mi'la Undari. Like Cas and herself, Mi'la was a reckless individual. It was this recklessness combined with courage that led to her capture and torture by the hands of the Sith. Enlisting the help of her former student, Sakadi managed to track down her broken Padawan and save her from the Sith. In the year that followed, the Jedi Master would go on to help her Padawan rehabilitate to the best of her ability.

Return to Thustra

"This house brings us nothing but suffering. What purpose is there in coming back to it? Don't you think it's time to move on?..."

The war between the Silver Jedi and the Sith Empire eventually forces Sakadi to return to Thustra. Deciding to evacuate her family first, despite all they have done to her, Sakadi stumbled upon a terrible revelation. Her sister, Maya Bir Sinvala Maya Bir Sinvala has fallen to the Dark Side. Distraught, Sakadi abandons the planet, failing to stop the initial invasion of Empress Lirka Ka Lirka Ka . Her cowardly decision would go on to haunt her for many months, until Sakadi finally made up her mind. She would return to Thustra, and make amends for her failure.

Silver Assembly

"We will judge those who identify themselves as Jedi killers, or those who openly admit their willingness to do so, very harshly."
Shortly after her escape from the Sephi Dominate, Sakadi finds herself returning to Sith space to partake in the chaotic battle of Dantooine. Hoping to break up the fighting between the two Jedi Orders, she instead encounters the Sith Empress, Joycelyn Zambrano. A battle ensues, where the Jedi Master joins forces with Knight Auteme to face the Empress of the Sith. With their combined strength, the two Jedi manage to hold their own against the Empress and their battles ends in a stalemate.

The cataclysmic events on Dantooine, where many Jedi failed to uphold the code, would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Being offered a seat on the Silver Assembly only shortly after the battle meant that she also had to deal with its aftermath. Heated discussions with their sister-Order, the NJO, ensued and served as her first real test as Assembly member. One that took far longer than she would've hoped.

Secrets Revealed

"I knew you were hiding something. Yenna told me as much. And yet I trusted you to handle this on your own. It seems like that trust was misplaced."

It had been a while since she had last spoken with Cas Tynen. That was why she, initially, was happy to speak with him in privacy during Life Day on Kashyyyk. The conversation would take a nasty turn however, when he revealed to his attachment-opposed Master that he had a relationship with a New Imperial Spy, ever since his time as her Padawan. While the relation was long over it still infuriated the Jedi Master, who felt hurt over his decisions not to trust her despite their strong bond. It led to her falling out with her former Padawan, which noticeably kept bothering her.
