Private A Test of Resolve

The consular-class cruiser jumped out of hyperspace, revealing the great blue and green-covered orb known as Numidian Prime. Despite having a front row seat to this spectacular view, the Jedi Master had her eyes closed. For the last 15 minutes, her focus had shifted to simple breath-regulation exercises. It was an effort she undertook in hopes of increasing her focus, for she was going to need it this mission.

One of the two pilots in front of her took the control yoke in his hands, preparing to manually land his craft. On a dense jungle planet like this, it took someone with experience to land a space faring vessel of this size. "Entering orbit. Commence the landing sequence." He called out to this co-pilot. Sakadi felt their unease. Just like them, she knew that this wasn't going to be an easy operation. It was going to be quite a challenge, and not a welcome one. That was why the Sephi was surprised that the council had allowed Cas to accompany her. She had serious doubts that he was ready to deal with what was to come, especially after their training session on Kashyyyk. Of course, she had done her best to give him a few more pointers during their long hyperspace jumps, engaging him in several sparring sessions to further correct his form.

The mission they had been assigned to, was the capture of former Jedi Master Jenor Locke. And if they couldn't capture him... Well that was not an outcome she wanted to consider. She needed to have faith in her skill with the lightsaber, that was all that mattered.

Master Jenor Locke had gone missing in action seven months ago, after a skirmish with the Sith Empire. Three months ago, however, he emerged on Cato Neimodia, wreaking havoc. In the battle that had ensued, a Jedi Knight was slain. His padawan reported that Locke had fallen to the Dark side, but the rogue Jedi had vanished without a trace. And now, the Order finally found him. Here, on the surface of Numidian Prime.

Finally opening her eyes, the white-haired woman would cast a sideways glance at the young man next to her. It was followed by the feminine voice, which had snuck into his head once again. "Are you ready Cas?" It would echo, a hint of concern present in it's tone.

Cas was excited to be on assignment with his Master again, however, the usually confident Padawan was concerned about the depth of the mission - reminding him of the encounter he and Castor had with a Dark Jedi a few months back, but this is what he had been training for, if he couldn't face a Dark side acolyte then what was the point of it all. Sat next to Sakadi, the sight of the stars in front of him comforted him slightly, relieving him of the majority of the tension he was feeling.

He knew of Sakadi's reluctance and concerns with having him on this mission, they were more than obvious, but he didn't share the same sentiments. He was glad that he was brought on board to make sure she would be okay and to help her out. Knowing that if push comes to shove and this mission turns messy - Cas was confident enough in his duelling capabilities, as well as Sakadi's that they could succeed and bring Locke in. The Padawan continued to stare out of the window as the cruiser entered orbit and began its landing, the skies were blue and didn't have a single cloud among them. The atmosphere was oddly tranquil despite the circumstances.

Once Sakadi had finished... whatever it was she was doing, he turned to look at her as she glanced at him sideways. "I'm ready, Master. We've got this." he said confidently with a grin, although he radiated confidence and lightheartedness on the surface - internally, he was focused and ready to be of assistance in any way.
