STRENGTHS

• Heavy Hitter | The Raptor-Class is a heavy hitting warship capable of dishing out significant damage to opposing warships comparable in size with it's impressive array of heavy offensive weaponry.
• Strong Durability | With it's vast array of point-defense/anti-starfighter weaponry, durable shielding systems and other warship countermeasures, the Raptor-Class is capable of taking a beating for prolonged periods allowing it to withstand overwhelming attacks for extended periods of time.
• High Speed | Designed as a means to rapidly insert and extract Special Forces on hostile worlds, the Raptor-Class is extremely fast for a warship of it's size allowing it to outrun most warships comparable in size.
• Hangar Capacity | While not boasting a large amount of hangar Space, the Raptor-Class possesses a sufficient amount of space that allows it to fulfill it's purpose

WEAKNESSES

• Bad Maneuverability | Despite being able to outrun most warships comparable in size, the Raptor-Class has an long turn rate due to it's poor maneuverability which does present an issue when trying to evade enemy fire.
• Structural Weakpoints | While an impressive warship in it's own right, the large hangar represents a major structural weakpoint as the Raptor-Class can be severed in half by targeting the portions of the hull surrounding the hangar.
• Exposed Rear | A classic weakness of Imperial Warships i the lack of any significant weapons covering the rear portion of the Raptor-Class making it vulnerable to attacks against it's engines which in turn would compromise it's primary function.
• Ship-to-Ship Combat | Despite being a heavy hitting warship that can deal a significant amount of damage, the Raptor-Class isn't suited for ship-to-ship combat against Capital-size warships (1,000 meters and above), as they will almost certainly be outgunned in every confrontation with warships of such size.

DESCRIPTION
With the Imperial Confederation facing numerous threats from major galactic entities such as the Sith Order and the Black Sun to minor entities such as the Wild Space Rebellion, the Confederation's Armed Forces under the direction of Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen would begin diverting a significant amount of resources towards developing a proper method to combat these threats on a strategic level ensuring that the future of the Confederation could be secured.

As part of this new initiative, plans would be drawn for the development of an exclusive transport and operations center for the Confederation's Special Forces enabling them to be deployed en-masse with great effect whenever necessary to a degree of speed and precision in which would leave the enemy unable to respond. The result would be the Raptor-Class Escort Carrier, a heavily armed cruiser-type warship with a decent amount of hangar capacity designed specifically for rapid insertions and extractions onto hostile worlds for Special Forces units to carry out certain operations.

The Raptor-Class Escort Carrier is equipped with a significant amount of offensive weapons for a ship of it's size and class along with extensive overlapping defenses which enable it to put up a good fight against other non-Capital warships. Furthermore, the Raptor-Class Escort Carrier is extremely fast for a vessel of it's type allowing it to outrun most warships in order to safely escape from heated battles with the onboard anti-interdiction technology enabling it to bypass any sort of interdiction fields that may be raised to block their escape. With the addition of a total hangar capacity of 4 squadrons, the Raptor-Class Escort Carrier is able to protect itself from enemy starfighter swarms further granting it greater survivability rates in battle.
