OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Seperate Droid Brain: Wether or not it is installed on a ship with or without a droid core as its main operating system doesn't matter much, this system has its own seperate droid core alongside smaller droid brains with varying roles to optimize its efficiency and to allow for it to be completely automated, avoiding human error and relying solely on mathematics, factual data and the rapid, immense processing power of the ZEUS Mk II alongside the PROTON mk I auxilary droid brains and the NZ T.O.P. package.
  • No Limit: This system has no effective limit to the number of weaponplacements it can control in its automated function.
STRENGTHS
  • Extremely Efficient: Due to its high automation, the applicated NZ T.O.P. and the presence of not just a ZEUS MK II, but also at least two Proton MK I Auxilary brains, this point defense system is capable of targeting threats much faster than any actual gunner and far outpaces and outclasses and manned gunning positions by utilizing it's high processing power to calculate the trajectory of targets, the time of impact, etc to optimize its defensive capacity.
  • Safe system: Thanks to the fact that it uses a seperate droid core, even if the primary droid core is damaged or sliced, this still does not shut down the point defense system, which operates almost entirely on its own and visa versa, shutting down or destroying the ZEUS II within this system still isn't enough as it can simply be put under direct control of another ZEUS Mk II present on board the vessel of instalment.
WEAKNESSES
  • Single type of weaponry: Though it may be highly efficient and well designed, this system does so far only have the capacity to control one type of weaponry, which means that if the enemy, target, etc has a resistance to this weapon in question, it reduces the effect and the use of this point defense system quite dramatically.
  • No human element: Though it can boast an extreme efficiency, high tactical planning, etc. As any droid brain and automated system, it has issues with logic defying actions I.E. Human madness and emotion.
DESCRIPTION
The NZ ARD-1 or Automated Rapid Defense system is classified internally as a Monotype point defense system. This means that it has been designed and engineered from the ground up by the N&Z Umbrella Corporation as a system utilizing but a single type of weapon within its arsenal. In this case that would be the NZ LC-1 Laser Cannon, which following the desire from the company's top brass to have a reliable point defense system had been chosen as the weapon of choice for the ARD-1 due to its overall stats being perfectly in line with the absolute average of the market, thus avoiding any absolutely glaring weaknesses in the system as well, while the supreme processing power of the used ZEUS Mk II droid brain coupled to the Proton Mk I Droid Brain in both an additional processing form and additional mathematic droid brain form would make sure that this system performed well beyond the limits of most other systems on the market.

With the use of the ZEUS MK II and the additional processing powerof the Proton Mk I auxilary droid brains, the implementation of the NZ T.o.P. 1 Tactical Order Package allows for the NZ ARD-1 to be combat ready at all times, activating countermeassures at a mere moments notice due to being capable of mathematically predicting various scenarios or actions taken by the opposition within a mere instant. However, these calculations and tactical plans can only be formed on the basis of logics and like any automated system styill have the flaw that anything illogical or incomprehensible may still pose a challenge for its capacity to predict moves and to act accordingly.
