You have to fight.
Yavin IV
Fighting: Teresa Pelles | Darth Pellax

All at once, his body felt pain, searing pain. In his body, in his mind. In his soul. He screamed out in pain, wretching from the ground as the ball of force energy lifted him backwards, searing his robes and leaving him mostly in his armor, and armorweave underlayer. He felt it across his body, all over. But what was worse was the taint- the perverse feeling that he had been touched by all of her malice, her hatred.

The pain subsided, and he was left on the ground, burnt. Hurt. In pain.

But not down. Not out of the fight.

He looked up at her, defiantly. And his eyes narrowed. The air between them became an insult. Whatever triumph she achieved, whatever she gained by doing so, she would regret.

His teeth grit. He pulled his lightsaber back to him. He got up to his feet, scrambling. Low to the ground, like an animal. He thumbed his lightsaber back on- the green blade dragging behind him, arcing on the ground. He pulled the blade up and turned the hilt, going up to his shoulder. A cruel feint. The green blade was a whirlwind, moving fast, amplified by the force. But behind the fan-like motion of superheated plasma-

Came his crushgaunt adorned fist, heading straight for her stomach.

She tainted him, exposed him to the dark side. That was dangerous in of itself.

He'd make her regret pulling back the veil- Tracyn already walked a thin line, he didn't need to be pushed much further.

The skies above them darkened, at his command as he floated above her, glowing, a shiver of fear ran up her spine. She was absolutely not equipped for this, a Sith Lord in her own right, servant to the Dark Lord, but her power was nowhere near a match for this. Not yet. The same lattice work that she’d raised to intercept the speeders rose rapidly around her, encasing her in a dome as the lighting strikes edged closer.

The next bolt tore through the edge of the tower, shattering the ramparts, spewing molten rock in all directions. The floor beneath her trembled, Hairline cracks running under her feet. She braced for the next strike, tightening the barrier around her.

Only it never came.

Lina dropped the barrier in time to see the two they’d been fighting drop from the sky together. Her eyes sought Sarlow, his curse unleashed, his rage palpable in the force. Her heart skipped a beat and she reached for him in the force. Gratitude and love in her touch.

Come to me, my love.

An invisible nudge, just enough to put the Sith out of her saber's direct path.

In a tale as old as time, blue plasma crackled aggressively against crimson. With her opponent's strength, a single wrong step could result in Cora being cleaved in two.

Her upper lip curled into a sneer as she pulled her saber back, now on the defensive as she wove in between strikes and jabs, lifting her blade to parry or block when needed. The grace of a court noble met brutalism. Neither gave much ground to one another in the dance.

Hisssssss.

A shining blonde lock drifted to the ground, laid atop the glass as if it had been placed there by a delicate hand. The acrid scent of burnt hair struck her like a hammer. It was a narrow miss, but a casualty she would mourn afterward.

Cora's jaw clenched, and she extended a hand, only to stop just before a telekinetic blast could ripple from her fingers.

The positions had swapped. The Sith had the advantage of hostages.

Stupid. How did you not see this as it happened?

The Jedi's brow wrinkled, eyes sharpening as she attempted to read into the veracity of the Sith's threat. It might've been a bluff-

-but she couldn't take that chance.

Blue plasma winked out of existence. Cora held both palms up, two fingers still curled around her saber hit.

"Do not harm them."

There was tension to the way she looked at him, as if she were peering past him and within him at the same time. Her words drifted on the Force, smooth and low, attempting to seep unperceived into the Sith's mind.

'Sorry, I missed the part where I was supposed to cower in fear. Is this the part where I'm supposed to say that "your thoughts betray you", or that "I feel the good in you, let go of your hate"? Still a little new to this banter.'

Amarok's grip on his lightsabers slowly tightened even more at Connel's snarky comment.

"No....there is no chance of you ever possibly redeeming me....I'm going to destroy you," Amarok replied as he slowly circled back into Connel's field of vision.

Having stated his intentions, Darth Amarok lunged at Connel with his sabers in an X formation, hoping to catch the young Jedi off guard.

(PvE/PvP)

An “X” attack? Really?

This Sith knew how to move and he knew what Connel was capable of already, so he had even more of an advantage over the younger Vanagor. The problem is though the Amarok did not seem to take his knowledge of “Dear old Dad” to note against him. What he did have going for him, and this was a big one, was that Amarok was fast. It took Connel’s incessant testing by his parents on his reflexes to be able to catch the Sith’s lightsaber blades with his own of “Omega” and attempt to push them down to split them up as he side-stepped and went for a reverse tornado kick to the head.

The martial arts more than likely would catch nothing but air, but it should work well enough to plant a seed in Amarok’s head. Connel was not the saber master his father was, but he was a fighter nonetheless, a Vanagor.

[COLOR=RED[Are you mad? I feel like you’re mad.[/COLOR]

Vanagor knew he was in for a fight with this guy, a fight for his life, but he was going to get through it, he had to.

"And I thought cat's were more awa-"

In an instant he found himself tackled away and into the crowd of zombies. And he snarled. It was a deep, guttural sound as he glared down at the tiger before swiping his blades up for the spectral creature's gut. Blades that would very much cut apart a spirit as if they were flesh and bone. "This is why I hate cats! Always sneaking around as if to protect one another."

The ground shook. Flesh and metal flew into the air alongside each other like it was a blender. The path was clear. Now they just needed to keep it that way.

"Sith air support is swarming us!" The radioman called out, Gress gripping his arm rest tight as he saw a Sith bomber buzz overhead, only to get opened up on by one of the Lynx. The AA-APCs kept busy, but they could only do so much. Gress turned to his gunners, and giving them a simple order. "Turn forward battery towards the Barrages. Hit 'em with the Ion." He then turned to the secondary gunner, watching as another bomber blasted their front line with a massive blast of HE. "Weapon's free on the missile pods. Just watch your fire, we got plenty of friendlies in the air." And with that, the sky was lit up with anti-air rockets, carefully aimed at enemy bombers and attack ships. Not just from the two Sphinx, but from Thundercats, and personal rocket launchers. Anything that came from the sky to fire on the Hellstompers, was sent into the ground with explosive force.

Slowly, the massive behemoth known as Cerberus turned, shifting to the barrage tanks and their forward advance. And then, a noise could be heard. One could mistake it for a mountain shifting, as the entire superstructure of the Sphinx walker rocked backwards, an ion bolt that could be seen from miles away hitting the forward advance, and halting it dead. Whatever tech was in that general vicinity of the tanks, or within them, was dead in the water. The Thundercats and Cougars immediately followed up with a barrage of beam cannons and turbo laser fire, but the assault was blunted in one shot.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the support troops of the Hellstompers moved in with wolverine shovels at the ready, slowly extending the trench towards the stranded Ethereal and Trident troops.

Surely it had to end soon. The sith couldn't have endless manpower, and yet it still kept coming. The pillboxes within the trench lines kept with an endless stream of blaster bolts, mowing down yet another wave of zombies.

And he snarled. It was a deep, guttural sound as he glared down at the tiger before swiping his blades up for the spectral creature's gut.

The tiger let out a whine, before disappearing.

But now the Cathar was ready to strike back. The wind around them howled as clouds started moving in, the sound of a steady strumming filling the air, as Jonyna charged forward, drawing Liz and slashing at unknown assailant, channeling a bit of her newly learned Electric Judgement through the blade as she swung. "Ya know it's RUDE to attack people's moms!"

sith-red.png

A tiger spirit certainly wasn't among the things Vazz had expected facing down a Jedi. They were an anomaly. An uncommon that broke the usual trend.

A variable.

Vazz hated variables. Hated the unknown. He brought up his twin blades to catch her's between the and barked out a laugh despite his own annoyance. "You've got your own themesong? The Jedi are wild these days, aren't they?"

The Sithswords he held absorbed the sparks like a hungry void. Then, as he pressed forward, they were unleashed as something far more violent toward her. He was going to have to finish her quick before she saw through him. The only advantage he had was surprise and the unknown.

And right now all he had left was the unknown.

Wings flared and hands extended, Vulpesen continued his barrage, a laugh escaping him as he reveled in the full unleashed power of the wilds. It had been far too long since he'd shown the world what he was capable of. "Come on! Show me what you've g-AJKLAMADAMMIT!" The air left him in a frustrated cry as from out of the blue, he felt another body slamming into his. Rather than barrel aimlessly through the sky, Vulpesen wrapped his arms and wings around the elderly jedi and turned off the propulsion of his pack.

With his black form plummeting from the sky, Vulpesen grunted as he slammed first into the branches of a tree, then into the sloping wall of the ravine until he managed to roll to a stop, his wings flapping open to release Zark who quickly go to his feet. "Are you kidding me!?" He rolled and rose back to his feet with a grunt, his tail lashing and arms stretching to relieve a bit of their bruised soreness.

"Yeah, I got it,"
Vulpesen responded to the jedi's plans. In the fall, he'd lost his sabers, though he did manage to spy one nearby. Calling it back to his hand with the force, he advanced on the sith woman as she rose, resolving to pick up his other saber at another time. "You can surrender, or we can dance." His blade rose up in front of his face, illuminating it with a golden light as it snap-hissed into a salute. "Choice is yours, darlin'." His blade swept back down, taking on a classical form two stance while his free hand snatched a long bladed dagger from his belt.

In a wild display, Jonyna backed off as the sith lightning being returned to her arced not into her body, but back into her sword in a massive Jacob's Ladder. Flourishing the sword in her hand, she snarled at the wolf, her mind working in overdrive. The clouds slowly rolled in, and she knew what she needed to do next. His swords were a problem, but one she can handle with Liz. Raising her blade, she rushed back forward, swinging this time with all her might, in an attempt to break his guard. If she could do that, she could retaliate.

sith-red.png

Vazz was an okay duelist. But he wasn't the best. If anything, he was passable in a straight fight. He caught her blade along his sickled edges, but her blows were just better at the end of the day.

His illusion on the other hand were what made up for it. His guard was broken, and it looked like he was open, blades too far away as he seemed exposed with his arms spread wide. Those were fake, though. As she went to strike, his real arms, cloaked in invisibility, brought back his own strike as he twisted his body to let her blade slip by. He ignored the pain. He bit back through the weakness as the judgement flooded him.

He aim was to trade blows. The lightning his blades would unleash on contact would be far more devastating than her nonlethal version.

Indeed, the lightning and steel digging into her chest, drawing blood from her. It took most of her concentration to hold her will, letting the Force flow through her to keep the cut from keeping her down. She was always a tough tiger. But she was also never alone.

From behind the wolf, a pair of owls swooped down, talons bared right at his back. And at the same time, Jonyna forced her tail to move, drawing a blaster from her coat, and firing a beam of cryo at the Wolf's leg. If she could keep him still, she could go for a final strike...

sith-red.png

It was surprising she wasn't killed outright, but even more so that she didn't even delay from the sheer shock to her system. Jedi were truly the most dangeorus prey.

He leapt back, his scythes rending through the pair of birds as his form shimmered and shifted. The shot clipped him, freezing some of his leg but it wasn't as dehabilitating. But he grinned still.

They were in the field of zombies still, and they didn't target him. He weaved through them, letting himself fade back into shadow before another of him charged forward. An illusion, of course, but one over one of the zombies as it shambled up.

He didn't think thay trickery would actually defeat her though. Instead, he was trying to keep her mind focused on fighting while he subtlety tried to fill her mind with dread. All living things feared death. It was instinctual, primal. And he was trying to slowly fill her with an unnatural dread of it to capitalize on that natural emotion.

As the wolf dipped back into the crowd, Jonyna watched as the clouds started to swirl. While she wouldn't get the final blow she wanted, she did have a new idea.

The dread that would overcome any other being fell on deaf ears in this case. This tiger did not fear death. She only waited for it's inevitability. She had for a long time, knowing that one day, her exploits fighting the Empire would catch up to her. And she accepted that so long as she did good, she'd be remembered...

The storm clouds above began to hum, and Jonyna raised her sword.

A crack of thunder rang through the street, followed by another crack. Jonyna swung her sword, unleashing a whole chain of lighting into the horde of zombies. Jonyna had to put everything into guiding it. One corpse at a time, bounding from one to the next. At the very least, she hoped she could clear out the horde...

sith-red.png

She was fearless.

The realization settled in as Vazz watched the night sky suddenly light up with lightning. Lightning that was turned into a weapon against the horde. He growled under his breath as he leapt back and away. His illusions had worked, but without the horde, without her being able to feel fear, he was no longer in a position of power.

So the Assassin fled. He could not fight her head to head. In place of him he left another copy. A solid illusion, one that could fight as he did, even physically interact. It wouldn't last long, especially since she was the better duelist.

But he was aiming to get a different shield first. He found a perch above as he found them. The people she'd been protecting. He grinned wider still as he hopped down like a shade, hiding within them. These would be a better shield than the zombies.

ON THE GROUND

The time for waiting was over, it was time the Ethereal Marines started making their own luck, Telaskta was an impatient woman.

“I want Saraquels working anti-air! Get those bombers off our friends! I want Gundarks jumping that trench and working anti-personnel while the Haniels start shooting those undead idiots that think they can hit our Gundarks!”

“On it! What about the Razorback squadron?” A comm officer yelled out?

“Keep them in comms, we’ll tag them!”

IN THE AIR

Angrily glancing at the Sith close air support attacking the Hellstompers as he and his compatriots were too busy engaging Sith starfighters. It was time to stack the deck. [Spartan Leader! Hit everything that doesn’t have Alliance IFFs!]

[“On It!”]

The technologically superior and heavily weaponized interceptors began engaging and overtaking Sith fighters. This was just the beginning as they were not the only cover for the carrier. Switching channels, Liram called out [Hawkbats! You have the high ground! Keep it!]

Simple code to hit the Sith starfighters from above. The Super-Angels were attacking all of the air cover, the X-wings were hitting air and ground, the gunships and the Sovereigntys were pulling close air support for ground troops and finally the bombers…

They were just hitting everything Sith not nailed down.

Amarok saw what Connel intended, and ducked just enough to where the kick passed harmlessly over his helmet. The young Jedi was quick, there was no denying that. Amarok just wished he'd shut up and fight.

"You talk too much," Amarok growled, as he glared at Connel through the polarized lenses of his helmet. "Fight for you life, Jedi!"

Flipping his sabers to a reverse handed grip, Darth Amarok leaped into the air, seeking to strike Connel from above.

“No, not ideal at all.”

Much of the situation wasn’t. Makai wasn’t pleased with the assault on the undead. The orbital bombing noise was drawing much of them but it wasn’t concentrated, it was clear whatever military force out there was trying to cut the numbers down in the heavily populated area. Next to impossible in his opinion.

“Thirty-Seven, watch my back for a moment. El-Three, see if you can’t find something with a roof big enough to land the Aurora Dawn.Might be the better of our chances.”

Attention turned back to the heiress in front of him. Concern was growing with each passing second, with each wheeze she tried to not to draw a full breath, as if it was a precious resource to be hoarded. Something had happened in her past to make her beyond the typical scared and needing to escape to full blown panic attack.

Makai had long suspected something happened before her hushed adoption into the Arceneau-Kuhn family. As a teenager, he had narrowed it down to her parents being killed in such a place as a crowded protest or uprising, her avoidance of crowds cementing his ideas. Now he was beginning to think his ideas were wrong.

Hands gently cupped her cheeks, tipping her head up to meet his eyes, stopping her from shaking her head. There was nothing but pure fear in her smoky eyes and he wondered if his words were even going to register.

“El-Three is working on get a place close by where you will hide with our droids. They’ll keep you safe, okay?”

Thumb stroked her cheek. He could hear the undead drawing closer, there was only so much longer they could hide. They still had a few moments.

“I’ll get the Aurora. Depending on our location, maybe twenty minutes, I come get you, we’re on our way.”

[ A location possible in a nearby tower diagonal tower close to the hotel. I only have forty-five percent of holonet feeds active in the tower. ]

“Thank you El-Three.” A pause. “Ells...deep, steady breaths. You can do this.”

[ Sir, we need to start making a move for that tower now. Lead time is important. ]

Hehhehheh

He was fast, but so was this Sith, Fallen Jedi, whatever he was pretending to be. The leap was unexpected, the flipped grip was something he had not planned on and as Amarok fell, Connel did side-step and hold out his “Alpha” saber (regular length). The problem with this was he was unable to block one of the Sith Lord’s weapons singing his lower jaw. The momentary surge of pain ended just as it came, his mouth was now numb and he could not speak if he wanted to. It looked like Amarok had gotten his wish.

He was not out of the fight though…

Running and leaping into the air himself, the younger Vanagor was in the middle of a sort of “sideways flip”, or “air cartwheel” cutting through the air with his own sabers. If Amarok could assault from the air, then so could he.
