Makai Dashiell was born on Ceto to a human father and a Galan mother.The only child of Judah Dashiell and Thessa Kai, his early years were a sheltered one, rarely venturing out from the family home on the beach.When he was still quite young, the disappearance of his mother threw him for a loop.
Makai was immediately thrown from days in the water on Ceto to being shuttled around with his father as business was conducted.It was a rough adjustment but Makai enjoyed spending time with his father. By chance, Makai became friends with Danger Arceneau and quickly found himself spending more time in the deserts of Tatooine and on Arceneau Trade Centers.
His mother returned only to leave a year later, leaving the young half-Galan out of sorts once again. He clinged to his father closer than ever, that was until one Myra Elspeth Korden found her way to his patch of ocean. The girl, being mute, didn’t communicate well and Makai found it his duty to show her everything in life and talk non-stop.It didn’t take long for the two to become best friends.
As he grew up, Makai spent his time with private tutors and under the study of Zejian “Mr.Zej” Tenro, the Director of Salvage Operations for Salacia Consolidated.He was learning quickly the ins-and-outs of the salvage operation, confidently assisting Mr.Zej by the time he was in his mid-teens run the salvage crews.
However, like any teenager who feels his path is already decided for him, Makai did break away from his studies and the company to ‘find himself’ in Chiss space. It was cold and it didn’t last long, the teenager rebelling against the re-emergence of his mother and perceived lack of caring from his best friend. He wasn’t in a good space and parted ways with many not on positive terms.Having had enough, his father drug him home not a scant six months later.
Back on the straight and narrow, it was decided instead of going straight into the family business, Makai was to experience a touch of normal life. He headed to Reena University, studying Marine Geosciences and Geospatial Analysis, being the first Dashiell to step into an institute of higher learning. Makai excelled in the space, joining a fraternity and spending term breaks performing marine research or interning on an ocean cartography project. Upon graduation, Makai was back at work for his father and looking to find his footing as the future owner of Salacia Consolidated.
