Yamatai Grand Bazaar

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

The South Systems Bazaar was run by Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau and well it had been a showcase to the galaxy... designed to let all the major companies... smaller companies and people who made their own things gather together and show off their skills. The absence of it was sad as it meant exploring and seeing other government's technological wonders... So the head of Sasori looked for a way to revive it... possibly she wasn't sure if it would be as massive in the beginning, but if they managed to do it right they could have a big thing on their hands. Matsu wanted it to be grand, so the massive trading hub of Sasori... Yamatai was massive and secured with internal defenses to prevent attacks like when the Dobsons had held their market... Sasori ships around were set up to protect the station in the nebula. As secured as a place could be for some marketplace and some auctions, including the mystery auction.

There were other things there as she looked at it... the bazaar was massive and meant for dozens of shops to be able to showcase their wares... including several with docking areas for touring ships if they were selling or secured buildings with target ranges for weapons. Special areas not effected by the dampening fields of kinetic and energy based equipment. Their stronger Hydra Class Combat Biot models moving around for defensive means. Matsu getting the chance to look out from her office in the central spire of the massive trade hub as it all stretched out below her. Ships coming in and out and the manufacturing stations were at work getting for all who came to the station for the event their complimentary Yamatai Swag Bag which was full of goodies that would be able to at least make for some fun.

There was a small amount of auctions on the block though, not as much yet, but the better chance to be seen was always open with the storefronts, so they could set up. Then there was the mystery auction that was partially on display the warehouse featured, and it was meant to be unknown what was inside. The ones who wanted to bid on it would send in their bids to the central tower (via pm) with their wager, and the best bid would win. The larger storefronts were lit up and Sasori offered its finest items for sale to the people as well as promoting some of the newer ones like standard coaxium, and they had presented what they could for the food stalls and shops that wanted to be around. She hoped John Locke John Locke and Gir Quee Gir Quee might show up or some she had seen on Eshan like Thelma Goth Thelma Goth , BB-610 BB-610 , Ria the Cat Ria the Cat or Asori Soto Asori Soto There was even Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania who haad been there and this was more exposure should they want to come.

To better facilitate inclusion and giving the people a chance, Saotome Runabout Mk.II were running at pretty much all times, ferrying people to and from the worlds in the sectors that wanted to come. Free of charge as they were simple enough trips in their own works and for some of the worlds it was a bigger chance as potential marketing to show off products for Sasori. The sight of several roaming Economic Management Biots that functioned to ensure prices were not being gouged or customers ripped off on either side were invaluable to the jedi master herself, and she wanted to make this a good presentation as the bazaar was opened business was picking up hopefully, and she viewed the screens leaving space for Alli Vern Alli Vern or Hanna Ike Hanna Ike to be around with them here. Space for others from Denon were welcome, such as their senator Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx or the little people who could see wonders Daiya Daiya . Even more chances for others across the galaxy like old friends Vulpesen Vulpesen and Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser or Romi Jade Romi Jade .

This was a huge station.

But then, he'd never known Matsu Ike Matsu Ike to do anything half measure. It wouldn't surprise him if this wasn't even the largest or most ambitious project Sasori had produced.

The tow-headed Anzat had his booth for the bazaar set up, while also keeping one eye on the auction that was taking place as well. He had a few droids assisting him, but for the moment was able to glance around as it seemed that things were starting to kick off. There wasn't a rush of customers yet, but hopefully that would change as the event went on.

He wondered if Jerek Zenduu Jerek Zenduu would show up for this, but then Jedi didn't exactly have money. And Jerek was about as Jedi as they came.

He thought he'd seen a Fizzyglug vendor somewhere though, so who knew. If anything was going to get the Jedi ace to appear, it was a free sample of diet fizzyglug. Or did they only have zero gravity?

Wasn't really his thing. Hadn't checked.

There were space stations, and then there were feats of engineering marvels, and this was certainly one of them. A feat that any company would have been proud to have produced, though as one of the oldest and largest companies in the galaxy, he was sure Saotome have more than a few tricks left up their sleeve.

For now though, those would do, dark eyes examined the booth that had been set up, the physical screens showing off a range of products that the company offered. Most of their products ranged into cybernetics, or warfare based technologies that wouldn't really have a place in a setting like this but, he'd managed to scrape up a few products to show off the capabilities of the company, to draw potential buyers it, to get his name out there and get them interested in perusing the full catalogue.

Besides, he was more interested to see what everyone else was bringing out.

Locke and Key Mechanics Storefront

A bazaar without some music was just shopping. Which he planned to do some of on his break. He wanted to sign up for those subscription crates.

So, of course, Zak was there to liven things up.

At one end of the bazaar, a stage was set up for performers. There were live acts set up for later in the event, but to get the party started Zak had planned a playlist of remixes of popular songs. He had two turntables and a microphone, plus a metric Hutt ton of speakers, which was everything a Nautolan needed to bring the noise.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Sasori Research and Corellia Digital present Glitch."

The boy started spinning, mixing the tracks and letting the music play out over the bazaar. Head-tails whipped from side to side as he started bopping along with the beat.

Daro Roz’yrn

“150 years of getting shot at for a living”
Still on vacation
Daro and his droid-dog, Hal, stepped off of the shuttle and walked right into the bazaar. He was enjoying his leave from the Nomadic Peoples navy while his new replacement left arm was still being manufactured. He was wearing a standard spacers outfit, with vest, shirt and trousers with comfortable boots. He had some credits to blow, thanks to a conversation with Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson who was running his accounts. He’d somehow managed to convince her to liquidate some of the assets that she had invested in, on his behalf, without his consent.

That had been a fun conversation…

But now he had money to spend. Over a century of service, he actually had quite the portfolio. But saving credits tended to get boring after a while. It was time to buy something. Maybe get some souvenirs for friends while he was at it…

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a booth with a banner saying “Locke and Key Mechanics” over it. He stopped, looked at it, then at his dog questioningly. Hal looked back up at him, stoically. Even though the dog had no ability to form facial expressions, it still seemed to convey annoyance. Or perhaps Daro was just being paranoid? He had to wonder if painting the words “HI I’M A WOUNDED VETERAN’S DROID ASSISTANT on the side of it’s chassis had been such a good idea after all…

He brushed the thought aside and strode over to where the booth’s wares could be seen. He gave the display droids a cursory glance while one of the attendants watch him, and he perused for a bit before stopping at the table. Without looking up he said to John Locke John Locke , “howdy,” as he picked up a package of contact lenses to inspect them, “you don’t see this sort of thing often these days.” He said appraisingly. He turned over the package to read the back, “hm. Do these work with Chiss eyes, and do you offer gift wrapping?”

Inwardly, he realized that this was his first booth he had visited and he was already impulse buying… He had a feeling that he was going to spend a bunch of money today…

Suddenly, Daro noticed an Economic Management Biot out of the corner of his eye. Hal noticed and growled at the annoyance…

A few shops had come, and she was glad always to see Sor-Jan.... then there was John Locke and well another benefit as they always had some interesting things. "Wonderful." She said it while looking around at some of the shops here. People would be able to do anything really and there was hired entertainment... kind of..... Zak Dymo Zak Dymo said he was entertaining at least. She could welcome it though and if they needed it well then all of them would be able to see more... she had designed the back-up biots to be able to help him in his dream which was to drive many to the brink of madness with his music if it could be called that. She bowed to Sor-Jan while she walked past and went to go and visit John Locke's shop where another was being entertained and the jedi spoke. "Welcome Master Locke, I am glad you decided to come and visit us." SHe looked at Daro and bowed her head. "Welcome to Yamatai."

A flash of light, and some weird effects as Hanna appeared out of the Netherworld of unbeing. She look slightly flustered but was dressed in a evening gown. However her fluster would vanish as she would look around. Quickly she made sure her dress was not wrinkled or anything making sure to not have the strap of the bag on her arm fall off and then finally she locked eyes on Matsu Ike Matsu Ike . She walked next to her and just let her keep welcoming people not saying anything besides locking arms with the love of her life. After all she didn't want to disrupt business. She waved at Zak Dymo Zak Dymo seeing the familiar face.

''So...!'' Brie started as her blonde tuft popped out of the grey sweater and thus finished her outfit, having changed out of her teal spacesuit which she guessed Daiya would prefer not to be seen with her in. At least not at a station like Yamatai. ''We are actually going in as ourselves on this one? With credits to pay for the things we like to have?'' she asked with a bit of sarcasm, pulling her besties leg. ''No surprises?'' she added, looking out from the small refresher aboard her ship and gave the other girl a sceptic glance, demanding an honest answer.

Spacesuit or not, this was still casual as feth, but at least Daiya Daiya wouldn't think they looked like two space drifters. Slim light blue denim trousers, a pair of white sneakers and the sweater. Casual, but clean! Back in front of the mirror, Brie pondered wether she would just go with combing her hair or put it in a ponytail. ''The shopping districts, they are all inside, right?'' she called out to her friend, pointing out the next question in their attire dilemma, to settle with what they were wearing or if they would need another layer.

It was nice to be just the two of them, for once.

"Of course we're actually going!" The teen shook her head, rustling the pink curls below her blonde crown. Feth, it had been too long since she had just spent time with her best friend. With all the time Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx spent researching her lost parents with Ruby now, too much time really, Daiya felt like she barely saw the scrapper girl outside of pulling a few jobs. The teen was up to her own eyeballs in finding or planning the jobs to pull off, though lately those had been far less paying jobs than she was used to.

And Darkwire wasn't paying the young shadowrunner a salary for her efforts, either.

"Uhhhhhh," Daiya drew out her answer, hoping that Brie would ignore the lack of a hefty pocketbook. Getting funds was tricky for her these days, especially with her caches around Seven Corners far more dangerous to access now. She found herself distracted by the amount of care her friend was putting into her appearance, grinning behind her in the mirror, "Stars, Brie, got anyone special you're getting all dolled up for?"

Daiya had thrown on a light jacket, white with blue panels in the front, and her sleek pants had racing stripes. She had been so sure it was all the rage in the Mid Rim, but now that the young shadowrunner had peeked out into the crowds, she was starting to think her intel was off. Her hands pushed deep into the jacket's roomy pockets, and she used them to point the way out into the bazaar. "Come on, c'mon!" She tapped her booted feet, thudding loudly, until the teen was grinning ear to ear . "Yep, yep, all inside, all there just waiting to get our hands on 'em. Let's go!"

Daiya started walking, eager to start browsing wares far less curated than those on Denon.

"Stars, Brie, got anyone special you're getting all dolled up for?"

''What's wrong with the way I dress?'' Brie asked honestly, slightly worried, and gave her outfit another look in the mirror. Before meeting Daiya Daiya , she almost didn't know what a mirror was. As a salvager, she didn't have to. Now however, and besides being influenced by the little gamine she called best friend, she had someone to actually want to be pretty in front of. He wasn't around on this trip, though. ''I hate it when I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not!'' she added, while deciding to keep the hair let out and combed. She thought he would have prefered it that way.

"Come on, c'mon!"

''I'm coming, I'm coming! Holy banthas, I never met someone as eager as you, Daiya!'' Brie uttered coming out of the refresher, but laid an arm around her bestie and flashed her a smile of happiniess. ''Who are you dressing up for, anyway?? I don't see any Cartri around here!'' she asked straight out and eyed her friends classy outfit. She then reached for a leather jacket hanging in the small hallway and put it on, leaving it open. Suddenly, Brie remembered the days of chaos that forced the majority of Darkwire to underground Denon. Chit. A lot had happened there, especially between ginger boy and her bestie. Brie had been all to blunt. Again!

''I read something about Corellia Digital's headphones! They're supposed to deliver some wicked sound!'' Brie added quickly and with great enthusiasm, to try and get her friends attention on something else if she didn't want to talk about the matter of boys. They were soon out of the ship and heading for the central bazaar spot.

High Marshal Eternity

The shard had come to the expo... largely to be there and show off the shadex or some of the other things they worked on. His massive size towering over many as he looked down and interacted with many more people. Children brought around got a chance to interact and could ride on his back in grooves that were made for them. One of the roaming Economic Management Biots was going with some of the other biots that were handling exchanges and getting the best deals to show off the products. Eternity roared, letting flames go up into the air and make a display for others like Zak Dymo Zak Dymo Daiya Daiya and Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx to see as he spoke. "Remember to pick up your Yamatai Swag Bags to remember your trip here." The massive shard said it Iron Maidens Biots posed to show off the biot droid technologies that were not part of the combat models. Several Advanced Model Furnaces roamed around handling trash and debris from the guests to keep things clean.

She had a nine meter tall dinosaur.

Of course she did.

The tow-headed Anzat was rather curious about that, as a matter of fact. Was it mechanical? He could sense the Force from it, which suggested that there was something either organic or, at the very least, organoform about the workings of the massive, fire-breathing giant. He'd have to ask Matsu Ike Matsu Ike about it later.

In either case, when a fire-breathing iron giant told you to grab a swag bag... you grabbed a swag bag.

What had she even put in the things? He hadn't looked because he'd been setting up the shop. Which, seemed to be working because he spied a pair of teens that seemed to be headed his way.

Did they look like music lovers? Gamers? Eh, he'd go for a little bit of everything.

Three boxes lifted up in the air, as the boy mentally juggled boxes containing headphones, a smart comlink, and HoloStation Switch in mid-air. "Music, games, and more!" Sor-Jan offered by way of greeting.

"Whether you're streaming with friends for hologames or holovids, I've got tools for keeping you connected."

The scent of Hanna was like catnip, as soon as the woman was near a balm to anything and when an arm was around her well... less said the better as she listened to Eternity giving rides to the children in the distance and reminding people of important information. There was still plenty going on and in full swing after all so she spoke turning her head. "Well this is the best surprise." The grin was on her face and everything wortth it while Sor-Jan was giving his spheel to potential customers for hologames.... something that Sasori had never dived into but it was fine they maade some of the best things used by it and the new motion capture arena had been a gift for the jedi master. "There is a few more things, we have some new stuff to unveil as well that Sasori has been working on."

Daiya had to giggle at her best friend's obliviousness, and her mouth twisted in a smirk even after that. She hummed a cheery, mindless tune as they joined the throng of the crowds, nodding her approval at the dark, leather jacket Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx had picked up after all. "Good idea, black'll go with—"

The teen stopped short at the mention of her boyfriend. Now ex-boyfriend. Her feet pumped to keep back up with the scrapper girl's long strides, flustered breath coming from flared nostrils as she huffed. "Nope, no Knuckles here, and that's the way I like it!" Her nickname for the ginger seemed more fitting since he had told her to leave him alone. So Daiya was doing exactly that! "I dress up for me, anyway, it's way more fething satisfying!"

Her words were drowned out by the screeching roar of some metal behemoth, sending the teen right up close to Brie. She clutched her friend's arm as the monstrosity belched a gallon of fire into the air. "Oh my stars!" the rattled Denonite teen let out, her heart pumping a-lightyear-a-minute at the sight. Her clasped hands tried to guide the attached arm, and Brie with it, away from the beast. She wasn't fast enough to avoid it's sudden change to a chipper marketing pitch, and shook her pink curls. As if that would stop the rest of her from imitating them. "What the feth, what the feth?"

Daiya hurried them along to the Corellia Digital booth, manned by a...little boy. Who promptly levitated a trio of the products he was hocking into the middle of the air, sending the teen's heart right into her throat. Suddenly, a pair of headphones didn't seem like the part to freak out over right now.

"Oh my stars, what is it with this place?" Unlatching her hands from Brie's side, Daiya threw them into the air. "I literally cannot even right now!"

"Nope, no Knuckles here, and that's the way I like it!" Her nickname for the ginger seemed more fitting since he had told her to leave him alone. So Daiya was doing exactly that! "I dress up for me, anyway, it's way more fething satisfying!"

Daiya was as stubborn as she was funny and energic, thought Brie, and carefully shaked her head in disapproval. ''Come on... You can't be serious about what you said on Wielu? You were like made for eachother!'' Brie insisted strongly. Of course, it was her totally amature like assessment of the D&C relationship, but not once had she heard something negative about them. Once it was official, it was like it was only natural and had been coming for long, although slowly. ''You just need to-''

Eternity roared, letting flames go up into the air and make a display for others like @Zak Dymo, @Brie Jaxx, @Daiya to see as he spoke. "Remember to pick up your Yamatai Swag Bags to remember your trip here."

With the roar and flames coming from the iron giant, Brie instantly found Daiya glued against her and clutching her arm. As that caught her attention instead, it kept Brie from a jumpscare herself. It elicited an amused chuckle from Brie as she glanced at her friend and letting her have the comfort of her arm, grateful that it was still attached to its socket. The iron giant was something which could possibly be found in a galactic fun fair or something. She had been on one of those before, as well as to a zoo, the latter actually with Daiya.

''Stars, yeah! I thought I was the skittish one!'' she uttered with a light giggle, before Daiya gathered herself and pulled them along towards a vendor.

Brie was equally surprised that the vendor was run by a boy looking to be several years younger than then. It mattered less though if his goods were any good, and Corellia Digital was a pretty known company. He looked wise and reasonable to negotiate with, but kids was also rumored to have stubborn minds of their own sometimes.

''Heyyy...''

Brie was used to deal with older alien scrap salesmen. Making deals with young kids running electronic stores, she had not.

''Uhmm, you got a demo of those to try?'' she asked, trying to get into this game of trade, pointing at the hovering box of headphones.

"I literally cannot even right now!"

Really?

The Force Sensitive chick was the one having the mini-freakout here?

Okay, granted, the dinosaur was... well, a dinosaur.

"Everything you see here is owned by Matsu Ike Matsu Ike ," the tow-headed youth noted, as if that explained everything. Because, in reality, it really did. "In general, don't try to make sense out of anything Matsu does. She's kinda the personification of suspension of disbelief."

''Uhmm, you got a demo of those to try?''

"Sure," the boy remarked, summoning the box of headphones to his hand and cracking open the case. As he passed them over to the other girl, he added, "I can preload some stuff on there if you like. What are you into?" Rummaging around the stall, he noted, "I think I've got some sparkle-bop... core drive... and the new Glitch album."

Coming up with the data crystal containing the album, the Anzat glanced at it a moment, then back over at the two girls. "You know, this is my label so I probably should have listened to it, but I actually have no idea what to call this."

Well, he knew one of the songs. Or, the song that the song on the album was based on, because it was a remix of one that had been popular during the Clone Wars. Which, was possibly also why he'd avoided listening to it.

"If you decide to buy the headphones, I'll toss in the album for free," Sor-Jan remarked, adding, "You can tell me if it's any good or not."

She looked at Sor-Jan and raised an eyebrow but only offered a smile. "Possibly but there is a lot more mysteries in the force Sor-Jan then can be dreamed about by your shareholders. Sasori likes to... expand what we can do and push towards what the ancient beings in the galaxy could do. The moment I have mastered celestial stellar engineering and am designing entire star systems... you can say suspension of disbelief." She said it and looked at the people there as she offered a smile on her face though and rose up... up into the air with levitation and the force. The bazaar was going well enough, it presented well enough so it was time to show off some of the latest from Sasori and really wo the crowd. Her form hovered and the jedi master held a hand out ass she projected an illusion of herself through the white current to be larger. Immersing herself in it and her words came out loud enough for all to hear but it wasn't a shout.

"Welcome travelers to yamatai trade station. One of several from Sasori. We hope you have been enjoying yourself and the food given. We hope you have enjoyed some of the displays of new technologies from across the galaxy. You have no doubt seen flying around and handling trash and debris created our Advanced Model Furnace. Micro cleaning droids utalizing our model molecular furnace and duplicator technologies and able to clean the envirnonment, the air and the water while producing Materia and its food Variant matter. The matter is then aable to be programmed to whatever use you want or could need. The larger Li-Ves Harte Box can make more in terms of items and food aand scaling up you can get to our newest the Levenring which is for docks to produce from duplicators fighters and freighters. It will also help with scrapping and breaking down debris in fields that might be found for you."

She said it all to some surprise as the various components were showing it. SMall starfighters being produced and more food on some of the tables for the people to try. "Then we get to the real exciting things. The Kalantas terraforming spire. Using molecule furnaces, duplicators and current terraforming methods these can go to worlds and build a habitable system able to be sseeded for life. Which can then be protected until it is time to be used by our newest Dyson Class Interdiction Stations which will link together and form sectional planetary shielding gates. Stronger then normal as they are going over a smaller more focused area... and can be linked to our Kaydryn defense network. We want you to feel safe while exploring in the worlds and that is why we have the advanced hyperDrive of our own that will allow access to several means of travel including sub-hyperspace which uses dark energy to travel faster through the universe."

A smile was on her face but the chance to show off a few things. "Your bags have all come with your own Kirino interface which gives you information and an overlay to identify and handle situations. Connection to the holonet and databases across the galaxy for public knowledge as well as shopping at the various stores you have seen here who came. Sample of maateria and for those who wish there is our Hypermembrane for clothing. If you want to wear protection but not be encumbered. We have a number of biot droids that can be bought and customized but the most populat is the Personal Assistance Biot and Nanny Biots for various tasks in helping you or those you love and carre about." She smiled though and the illusion faded. "So enjoy yourself, treat yourself and remember that transport both to and from here is free so come back whenever you would like."

"I just had to put that out there," the teen declared, letting her hands drop back into a normal posture. Dinosaurs, Matsu, suspending disbelief...Daiya wasn't really the kind of girl to make a big deal out of it all, it's not like she had never been offworld before! This place was just fething weird!

Daiya stepped back up to the Corellia Digital booth, looking over Brie's shoulder at the merchandise. Peering at the little boy behind the booth again, her blonde crown tipped, sending pink curls cascading down her shoulders. "Aren't you..." she wondered, and then her head jerked back. "Oh my stars!" Daiya started excitedly, "It's Milkshake Boy!"

"Oh, you don't know who Milkshake Boy is," she told her friend, grasping Brie's shoulder. The teen pointed, careless of ettiquette in this place so devoid of sense, and hurried on before the words got ahead of her. "So I met this kid at this tournament thingy, he's a holo-gamer, and he saved me from this bratty girl who I'm sure was gonna steal my stuff. We went out for milkshakes, and he said his dad had this tech company and he could do all this Force chit—" Daiya turned to look at the boy with an off-handed, "No offense," as if that was apology enough. "—and look, he's here right now."

"M'kay," Daiya decided with a hefty sigh, a grin spreading back out over her face again, "Now this all makes sense."

Daiya didn't know who Matsu was, but if Milkshake Boy was here then all bets were off.

Excepting one.

"Stars, Brie, if you don't get the headphones, I will! I wanna hear the Glitch album."

"Everything you see here is owned by @Matsu Ike," the tow-headed youth noted, as if that explained everything. Because, in reality, it really did. "In general, don't try to make sense out of anything Matsu does. She's kinda the personification of suspension of disbelief."

Brie nodded in an oblivious manner in response to the boy revealing the name of the shop owner. The name didn't ring any bells with the older of the two shadowrunners, It was a pretty big galaxy, after all. The boy seemed to know the woman well, though. Well enough to give the girls the advice not to try to make sense out of her merchandise. He was funny and pretty likeable, Brie thought as they were introduced to a range of music styles.

Who hadn't listened to some glizband in the Outer Rim? Stars, the most precious thing Brie owned were her old music player combined into headphones. Gliz and sparkle-bop was two very good genres that kept her company on the long journeys between the galaxys scrapyards and trading outposts.

Pool Boy? Milkshake Boy? Really? Was there a Sunshades Boy somewhere? Didn't Daiya know his real name? Brie raised an eyebrow and gave her bestie a look of surprise and disbelief for the fact that she, like she had done with Cassus, had given the much younger looking boy a nickname. She listened to the small explanation and introduction of the boy, and then turned to and offered him yet another but bigger smile and a hand to shake.

''Pleased to meet you... Milkshake Boy! I'm Brie!'' she said, which was an obvious sneer at Daiya not having introduced him by his real name. Upon being offered a demo of the headphones, Brie gently grabbed them, pulled away some blonde locks from her ears and put them on. The sound and rythm elicited an amused smile on her lips. ''Oh yeah... This is good stuff!'' she uttered while slowly bobbing her hear to the rythm. One could discern a fair bit of skillful moves in the otherwise slightly shy and timid shadowrunner.

''You want to try?'' she asked and offered to put the headphones on her friends head, before again directing her attention to the boy. ''We'll take two, please!''
