Public Ostara Festival | Agents of Chaos + Open

SPRING
IS
H E R E

For the second night of relaxation, Discordia organized a festival. The planning was done by a team of attendants as well as through public surveys and, as always, the Agents did not disappoint. The night of celebration was planned carefully for a week before the announcement was made to the public. Spring had arrived and with it came all the joys of the season.

The events and activities of the prior day were still all the rage and most were still in full swing. Clubs were open, restaurants were packed, and the only outdoor space available for use that wasn’t already occupied was reserved for a large festival that encompassed half of the lake out past the forests.

In a matter of hours, picnic tables were set up, the trees were strung with colorful lights, boats were set up by the lake, the lake itself was clear and beautiful under the light of a setting sun, and people began to arrive in groups and clusters. All around the grounds, delicious goodies and treats could be smelled the moment the people set foot on the field. Children ran about and adults talked and joked and ate and baked. It was a time of happiness and ease, a rare moment of joy and solitude.

If you are allergic to bees, please be cautious and mindful of them as they like to be around the flowers this time of year.

A giant table is set up in YOUR honor. Sit down, make friends, eat until you can’t walk! Enjoy the night and make connections. Mill about and just enjoy being with friends old and new.

Come one, come all! Calling all bakers, food enthusiasts, and kitchen witches! Bring your best dessert (pie is preferred but any will do) and have people shove their faces into it! The person that eats the dessert the fastest will win a special prize!

Drive or walk through the city’s Tech Town and see a spectacle of lights for all kids and kids-at-heart.

Do anything you’d like around the city or around the lake. Cause controlled chaos but don’t burn anything down.

Madalena had been excited for the Ostara Festival from the moment she'd heard about it. Her mood had much improved recently, after needing to take some time off while she recovered from her stint as a prisoner of war in the hands of the Outer Planets Alliance, and now that she was feeling better, she was looking for more and more opportunities to get to know those she considered to be her people better.

Normally, Madalena knew pretty much everyone. She knew how old everyone was, when their birthdays were, where their families lived. The way she viewed her job as the leader of the Wild Hunt, was that it went beyond just leading her soldiers in battle. Especially when their group was still mostly made up of individuals. And prior to the war on Zonju V, she had done just that.

But since her return, something had felt slightly off. Nothing overly traumatic had happened to her by any stretch of imagination, and still the event had shook her insides more than she cared to admit. She had avoided missions, letting others who were great at it rise to the challenge, but she was ready now to come back. Ready to lead her people again. Ready to take them to war and take the same silly risks that she always took, ensuring her people got to go back home.

And for that, she needed to meet the new people. The Agents of Chaos had swelled during her absence, and there were plenty of new faces to go around. For the moment, she was sitting next to a lovely Zeltron with rose red skin, chattering happily away. The Zeltron was one of the Wild Hunt, a newcomer, and she and Madalena were happily chattering away, the seats around them sufficiently vacant for anyone else to join them if they wanted to.

Another party. Scherezade smiled as she walked down the streets of Eve, making her way towards where the light spectacle was going to happen. Unless she'd remembered wrong, she was set to arrive just before it started, with the hopes of managing to find a good seat or spot to stand from and watch it.

The streets were filled with festival goers. Almost everywhere she looked, she could see families having fun together, couples walking hand in hand, and other excited people that bumped into some more excited people and became an excited group. A few, like her, continued to walk alone.

But that was all right.

Stopping by a stall that sold hot dogs, Scherezade ordered one that came without bread, asking for it to be dipped in the sauerkraut juices before being served. Perfect. It was still hot, but it balanced well with the juices.

She continued her walk down the street, knowing that the spectacle was only another block or two away. And it being Spring, the weather was, of course, perfect for the event. The systems that controlled the weather within the sphere would never allow for it to be any different on a day such as this.

Nighthaunter had been out on mission after mission for what felt like months on end for Discordia, it was safe to say that she pushed him to his absolute limits. So when he was told that there was a festival being held on Eve, he had made sure that he was on world to enjoy the festivities. Truth be told the Nighthaunter hadn't enjoyed a night out just to have fun since his childhood, which felt like an age ago now. He wandered out in the street and headed towards the feast location. He was dressed in smart but casual dress, he was wearing a thin white shirt hugged his lean toned torso, with a suit jacket over top, along with some blue jeans. He approached the massive table that had been set up for the feast, his green eyes scanned the crowd. He didn't recognize anyone, well that was what happened when you spent most of your time off world blowing stuff up.

'High time to meet some new people then.' He thought to himself as he wandered around the large table looking for a place to sit down. As he was walking around the table he felt like he spotted someone he knew, the woman was sitting with a Zeltron that had rose red skin. She appeared to be happily chattering away with the Zeltron, but at the same time looking around the room for people. He strode over confidently to the dark haired woman and took a seat beside her.

"Madalena right? Scherezade's sister?" He asked before grabbing a glass and pouring himself some wine from a bottle that was present on the table.

To say Jai’galaar didn’t want to be there was an understatement. He had just wanted to stay by himselfand do some training, but he’d made the poor choice of playing Sabacc with Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter . He was sure she cheated somehow, but she’d won and told him he was coming to this. Not asking. Telling. He even tried using cheese cubes to bribe his way out, but she wouldn’t take it. Well.... That wasn’t entirely true. She took the cheese, just didn’t let him not come. And so here he was, once again leaving his more traditional armor behind for a leather jacket, which was basically a kind of armor anyway.

The Mando did have a plan though. He’d “Show up,” and just leave in a minute or two. The plan was fool proof, at least until he noticed who he could only guess was Scherezade’s sister, Madalena. He hadn’t met her more than once or twice in passing. Long before he and his team had a solid role within the AoC. Well if being part of two groups was a solid role. Either way, she’d most likely tell Scherezade if he didn’t stay, and Jai wasn’t ready to see how that’d end, so he figured may as well more formally meet the woman.

He would walk up, noticing someone else seemed to have had the same idea. He’d let them finish talking before finally speaking up. “Hey there.”

Munching on a fresh bought hot dog, Brie stood on the sidewalk a stones throw away from the place where the light show were supposed to take place. It was realy... well, delicious! To many, a hot dog were nothing more than a simple and quick piece of fast food, but living long periods aboard a modestly sized ship as hers it was joy in every bite she took. It actually had a good taste to it too, not like some suspicious dish from some joint on Coruscants lower levels. It was a festival, so she figured the locals wanted to offer the best they had in the likes of tasty street food. Speaking of munching, it was not like she had not eaten anything in days buuut to anyone it would certainly look like she enjoyed the sausage and bun dish.

Recently with a hair's breadth having slipped out of a bad situation on Terminus, it was nice to visit a planet not for salvaging purposes but hopefully for some socialising. Although, she had hesitated when recieving the invite and had brought her headphones with her in case things went dull or awkward. No one could blame her for being on too many festivities and in many cases she could struggle with the social bit, largely lacking the ordinary proper upbringing with school and friends in abundance.

She zoned out and thought about the evening to come for a second, while chewing on a bite and then dug in on the next one, being done with half the hot dog.

Renn walked down the street looking around, a grin on his face. Looking around at the lights he watched, the light glistening off his eyes. It had been a while since he had contact with the Agents, but it would be a nice time to reconnect, for it was the perfect season, Spring. To Renn, Spring is a great holiday, a cheeriness is in the air, an "Ode of joy" as some might call it.

Walking around he overheard someone talking about food, which would be nice and when the man pointed in a direction, Renn went that way. Looking around he realized he should've just asked for directions, shrugging he tried to spot in familiar landmarks, his eyes landing on someone he knew.

Walking up to Scherezade, "Hello there, long time no see."

Scherezade continued to walk down the street, chomping down on the last bits of her hotdog. Her stomach announced that it still wasn't full enough, and she looked up ahead to see what other stalls were available. She spotted a few more that offered sweets, which even after this short walk wasn't really her thing, one stall of cheese that almost had her coming to a complete stop before she regained her senses and continued to walk, and then came up to a stall that offered various nuts and seeds.

Taking a piece of nut block, she almost bit into it when her gaze fell on Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx . Scherezade waved and made a high pitch sound before elbowing through a few people that wanted nuts and seeds as well, until she finally stood by the woman. The two had met some time ago in an illegal fighting ring, and what happened there… Well, that's not a story for now.

"Hey!" Scherezade greeted her with a grin, and then offered her some of the nut block she'd purchased moments before that.

Immediately after, she heard a voice from a not so distant past - Be'iqaronn Be'iqaronn . "Oh hey, you still exist!" she grinned, "where've you been?" and then turned to Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx again, "And you? What are you up to?"

"Madalena right? Scherezade's sister?"

Madalena looked up from her seat, a piece of bread making its way into her mouth just before someone began to speak with her. She turned her head, her glowing green eyes falling on an angelic face she was quite certain she'd never seen before. She nodded, chewing as quickly as he could before swallowing hard, and then took a sip from her drink to let it go down a better.

The rose tinted Zeltron by her took a glance at the man, her gaze then moving to Madalena herself, and she let out a high pitched whistle before getting up with a grin. "I'll be seeing you around, Madsy," she grinned, and then winked at both of them.

So much for subtlety.

She never knew if it was because of how her sister had put her reactions together for certain things, or whether that was how she'd originally been in her own dimension, but Madalena could well and truly claim that where many of those she knew would blush in that moment, all she had to offer instead was an inviting smile.

"Indeed," she said, holding her hand out for Nightcrawler to choose if he wanted to shake or kiss, "I don't believe we've met though. What's your name? Whose sibling are you?"

A moment later they were joined by Jai'galaar Gred Jai'galaar Gred . Madalena opened her mouth to welcome him to the table as well, having absolutely no idea about what had passed between him and her sister, when her new Zeltron friend, still only a few steps away, let out another one of those whistles.

"Zeltrons," she shrugged, and gave both men the most innocent of smiles.

That high pitched sound reached her ears, and in the corner of her eye she saw the rather tall woman elbowing herself out of the crowd. Brie almost jumped when she heard it, more so when she saw who it was. The woman from the fighting ring. The ring that those pirates and slavers had forced her into but that Sh- Scher-, she couldn't remember her name, but that the brunette woman had seemed to volunteer for and enjoy. It had been one of the scariest moments in her life that day.

That small shock, because she was not being used to people running towards her and because of who it was, caused Brie to quit munching but instead almost shoved that last bit of hot dog in. She turned her head away slightly and covered her mouth with the back of her hand.

''H- hey...'' she managed to say, between a cough and some struggle to chew the hot dog down in pieces that were able to swallow. It took a second or two.

''S- sorry! Hey! I'm...'' she tried again and wiped her mouth from some scrumbles of bun.

''I got the invite and... Thought about what you said, so... Well, I thought I would give it a shot...'' she continued and glanced at the other woman, a faint smile searched itself upon her lips. She were still unsure how to act around the woman, who seemed so different since their first meeting. A meeting which did not exactly invite to a second one. What she spoke of was however the invite to join the womans crew, or group of sorts.

Brie broke a piece of the nut block and gave the man a greeting nod. Great, why could not the whole festival come to talk to her? At the same time, it gave an odd feeling of comfort not being alone with the brunette woman.

The sunset was beautiful as it reflected on the lake water, the same water that reflected the fairy lights hanging from tree branches and gave a warm, safe feeling to the area. The Sith actually felt… less tense.

Not quite relaxed, but he wasn’t as hypervigilant as he typically was. It was a rather foreign experience. It made him want to be even more aware of his surroundings and the motives and body language of every single person around him.

On the way here, while his to be date was away from his room in the Temple, he went in and smuggled some clothes because he didn’t want to show up in armor to a date. He’d found some vaguely appealing clothes, all black of course, in Dexter’s closet that were a few sizes too big that fit the Sith nicely.

He’d have to take Scherezade up on her shopping offer one day, he needed clothes other than armor, contrary to his beliefs.

Kyrinov reclined against a tree by the lake’s shore, a boat bobbed gently up and down on the water’s surface. If Dexter wanted, they could go on a boat ride out to the middle of the lake and have a nice talk with each other, maybe a few laughs if they were sure this date wasn’t being televised.

Now, all he had to do was wait for the Shadow to arrive.

Blushed slightly in embarrassment at the Zeltrons high pitched whistle, the meaning of it blatantly obvious. He took another sip of the wine to calm himself as he watched Madalena say goodbye to the Zeltron, he then grabbed a plate as Madalena turned towards him. He began piling food onto the plate, it was fair to say he was absolutely starved. He then sat back down again, taking another sip of the red wine. He then took her hand and gave it a light kiss like a true gentleman.

"The name is Jason" He said gracefully as he pulled back looking her dead in the eye, taking another small sip of his red wine. At the mention that he was someone's sibling he almost spat red wine all over the table.

"Haha no no..." He laughed taking a moment to gather himself, "I guess you could say I work with your sister quite closely" He said, as his memories couldn't help but look back at moments of them fighting through hallways of a spaceport and him and her having a discussion on a high rise rooftop on Coruscant after he had brutally exterminated a politician.

"She mentioned you off hand a couple times, you clearly know how to leave quite an impression on people" He said winking at her with one of those intense emerald green eyes. He watched as a Mandalorian joined them and sat down on the other side of Madalena. He recognized him as one of the initiates from the Prowler initiation process. The kid had done well from what Kyri had told him, and was eager to see what he could do out in the field.

"I was busy on the job, dealing with an insane dancer. It was a whole convoluted thing that I was paid to help with." Renn grinned quietly. "What about you?"

Renn quietly looked at Brie Jaxx Brie Jaxx giving a little wave, she seemed friendly. He quietly stood there listening to her, having a smile on his face. It had been a while since he had attended any of these events or parties, the last was in the winter, but they were always fun. Giving her a little nod, he quickly introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Renn."

He had a friendly look on his face, just another patron happy to be at the party. The air was mildly warm to him, a great temperature to be outside in, so he was happy enough to stand outside.

Never in her wildest dreams did Sentiri every think she felt like she needed to belong to something. She'd been excommunicated from her family home. She'd been exiled from her people. She'd risen to prominence in a foreign land only to feel captive by the power she held. She'd decided that the shadows were best for her but then she was reunited with her people and gained the sister she never knew she had wanted. And then, she'd taken an extended mission, only to return and find her people set upon and her family dashed to the stars. Independence had always been Sentiri's preferred method for coping with these changes. Or maybe she had confused that independence with reclusion.

Now Chiss weren't known for having wild dreams. But then, Sentiri wasn't some garden variety Chiss; certainly not anymore. Sentiri had gone through trauma. Her recovery from that trauma had sent her through the galaxy, through many cultures, and on the other side, she had found an emotional side, one that would not be kept quiet. Being emotionally open was not the Chiss way. Though the misconception is that Chiss don't feel emotions, the truth was more that they had a naturally smaller gamut. While some Chiss might have detested the adaption in brain chemistry that brought on a wide array of feelings, Sentiri embraced the changes she underwent. If anything, the feelings were simply a new hurdle to understand and explore. The illogical and unpredictable nature of them made them all the more fascinating.

And yet, the change this newly defined woman struggled with the most was the feeling of belonging. Sentiri had never needed other people. Even when they had been there for her, she would have said they were nothing more than a means to an end. But the changes came on slowly, imperceptibly. At first, it was a passing acquaintance with Marzena, a human woman, which gradually grew into a friendship. Then, the feeling of relief when she was welcomed back to the Ascendancy. Then, a feeling of welcome and a true bond of sisterhood with Karisa.

Gradually, all of these things culminated into wanting to be a part of something. Now that she was alone again, she had gone looking for old friends. But that search had proved fruitless, for the time being. At a loss, the Chiss woman had wandered, looking for a new place to belong; looking for a home. Sure, Sentiri still valued her independence. But her life had become multi-faceted, and she could not ignore this nagging feeling of loneliness.

So it was that she came to walk down the streets of Tech Town in Eve, dressed somewhat casually in a black jacket, black slacks, and crimson accents. A festival was a fantastic place to meet new people; maybe even make a friend. Maybe Sentiri would even find the home she so wanted to find. As she idly spooned gelato into her mouth, she walked down the street admiring the colors.

3vkJ9N.png

Myrium walked through the streets of Eve, lacking his usual black trench coat and weaponry. Instead, he wore a simple black shirt and pants combo with purple trim. The only sign of his position or place in the fabric of the Agents of Chaos was a single icon, a small purple tree blazoned on the left side of his shirt. That was enough to get him a clear path through the crowds as he looked around, enjoying the sights of the celebration. Myrium did not often depart the Vale much these days, but seeing all the lights and activities consuming Eve, he was glad to have made an exception.

With a small smile on his face, Myrium came to a bar he tended to frequent. It was a simple little place, with a single visible kitchen and bar top for customers to sit at in the street. Approaching, Myrium tried to withhold the laugh he felt bubbling up at the sight of the bar owner, a light green rodian, wearing a comically large hat and a fake mustache he had likely picked up from one of the vendors in the street. With a nod to the man, Myrium took his usual seat, leaning back against the bar and looking out into the wide range of Eve. In the distance, he could just see a series of fireworks beginning to go off, creating a sparkling arrange of colors and sounds that drifted leisurely across the artificial sky of Scintilla.

Turning slightly, Myrium accepted the light red drink the bartender handed him, taking a slow sip of the liquid. Myrium was not a fan of alcohol, partly because he thought himself too young, but also due to the lack of control it sometimes created. A simple, fruity drink sufficed, and Myrium took another sip as he savored the moment.

The galaxy could do with more times like this.

With a last dredge of her spoon into the Pika cream soup (formerly gelato), Sentiri tossed the small compostable container and utensil into a nearby waste receptacle. Her empty hands felt a bit awkward so she tucked them neatly into the far-too-small-but-barely-large-enough-for-her-fingers pockets on her jacket. The Chiss woman might be getting better with social situations, but large open spaces still made her want to find a wall to balance said space against. Sentiri tried to convince herself to go up to a group that had congregated in the middle of the street, chatting over their own snacks, but the urge to find something else with which to fidget won out and she moved over to a streetside bar.

The spot was a small one, but Sentiri found the space cozy rather than cramped, even with so few seats. A Rodian with a mustache was handing out themed drinks and Sentiri was content to accept one. "Thank you," she said, sitting down on a stool and casually spun, putting her back to the interior of the dive and looking back out at the street. To her right was a young man who had adopted a similar position as she. His semi-formal black was also similar to hers, though his accents were a purple where hers were crimson. The only thing distinctive about him was a small emblem. A moment passed before the Chiss woman recalled the meaning of the symbol: Blackguard, the Knowledge Seekers of the Agents of Chaos. Intriguing, she thought, beginning to formulate an angle for conversation.

"Why a tree?" Sentiri said to the human. Small talk was not her forte. She could have started with a simple greeting, or commented about the festival, or an admission of beauty towards the fireworks that were dazzling the interior of the station. But that just wasn't Sentiri's way. Direct, to the point. Even when it wasn't business, even with her emotional awakening, there were just some things that were hardwired. "Symbolic of knowledge? Wisdom? Seems appropriate for a group like the Blackguard."

Scherezade was practically beaming as the woman in front of her mentioned giving Agents of Chaos a shot. The two had met in one of those illegal fighting pits, and Scherezade had worked to keep the woman from being murdered for the sin of losing a fight. Apparently, it had paid off in the best way possible - she was here now!

Turning to Renn, her smile widened. "Insane dancer?" she asked, making sure she'd heard him right.

More questions began to pile up, yet before uttering a single one of them she realized who they were standing next to. Very close to.

"Myr!" Scherezade grinned and made the jump and a half required to cover the distance between them, "Hey!" she smiled, and then looked to the Chiss sitting close to him. She didn't recognize her face, but that was a good thing - more and more people were coming to join the Agents' forces, and Scherezade couldn't keep up with every single one of them anymore.

"Hey," she waved to the blue skinned woman, "I'm Scherezade, that's Brie and Renn. And you obviously already know Myrium!"

Madalena smiled warmly to the man as he kissed her hand. Jason. She knew of several Jasons, but none of them were part of the Agents of Chaos. Lofting an eyebrow as he almost spat his wine, the expression of amusement became hard to miss on the Sith Sorceress' face.

"I do apologize," she said with a gracious nod, "But I don't recall her ever mentioning a Jason before. Not one that could be here, anyway, unless you're a five year old who has a Jedi for a daddy."

Turning to the Mandalorian, she smiled again.

It was a nice group. She wasn't sure what Jason did, but she knew what Jai did, and how others could supplement them all. Taking her own glass of wine, Madalena sipped from it, letting the contents warm her up from the inside.

She knew how to leave an impression? Oh yes. Everything from her sultry lips to the way she dressed had been designed exactly for that. Even on the field of battle, though she was hardly the combatant she used to be, Madalena stood out. She and her sister were a force of nature, and they didn't take kindly to their enemies when they faced them.

Except that one time. That one time of defeat.

The joy seemed to drain from Madalena's face as the memories of being a prisoner of war with the Outer Planets Alliance surfaced, and she visibly struggled to swallow them down before taking another sip from her wine, now appearing as though the last few heart beats had never even happened.

"What have you and my sister been doing recently?" she asked Jason, before turning to Jai, "I'm here to see how the Agents have grown. I've had to leave for a few months… And I'm pleased to see we're stronger than ever. But we can do… So much better."

Myrium did not turn his head as Sentiri Sentiri approached the bar, as he had not taken notice of the half dozen other individuals who had come and left. Or, at least he appeared to not take notice. He took in all the details of those around him out of the corner of his vision, and the approach of the Chiss woman was cataloged and filed away long before she even spoke. It was poor form to allow yourself to be surprised by strangers, and Myrium had already begun the process of working out a character profile on the woman when she spoke, forcing him to react.

Turning his head slightly, Myrium took another sip from his cup, his eyes never focusing too long on one spot. "Trees over many things to people. Every culture across the galaxy has a different outlook on trees, and none of them are right or wrong." Myrium was careful to avoid answering the actual question. Some things were not public knowledge to others for a reason. But before he could go on, the hair on the back of his neck stood on end. In an instant, his fight or flight response kicked in.

He was out of his seat in an instant as Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter made her sudden appearance, careful to keep his eyes locked on her and angling his body to ensure he could not be flanked. Myrium did not trust this woman. He did not trust anyone, but especially this woman. Out of his shirt sleeve, Myrium had drawn pencil and reflexively held it out like a sword for a second, before realizing how stupid it probably looked.
