  • Organization Name: Glitch
  • Classification: Glizband
  • Affiliation:
  • Organization Symbol: The most common logo used was just the name in a multi-colored typeface that features paint splotches and random slices intended to give it a 'glitch' like appearance.
  • Description: Glitch was the stage name used by a Nautolan DJ, whose real name was Zak Dymo. The name could refer to his work remixing songs or performing as a solo artist. In terms of genre, as a musical group, Glitch was broadly categorized as a glizband, but used notes, riffs, and elements derived from myriad genres for both remixes and original works; predominately core drive, dusk, wreckpunk, and warbat trance. As many of the melodies produced through original songs or remixes were considered 'catchy', Glitch was sometimes referred to as sparkle-bop, much to the dislike of the artist. As Zak's musical career began as the bass guitarist for the Kathol Outback garage band Underground Revival, heavy isotope was another prominent feature of many of the songs.

  • Hierarchy:
    • Producer (aka HMFIC): Matsu Ike Matsu Ike of Sasori Research & Design served as the producer for Glitch's work.
    • Distributor: Corellia Digital held the distribution rights for Glitch's music.
    • Corporate Sponsors: Got first dibs on the money.
    • Crew & Venue Staff: Paid a set salary or usage fee. In the case of the biots, a rental fee is paid to Sasori Research.
    • Zak (bottom of the totem pole): Gets whatever is left, with most contracts containing a clause where his reimbursement is dependent on overall sales and the occasional royalty for the replay of songs that are original works.
  • Membership: Aside from the artist himself, Glitch operated as a business entity with varying aspects controlled or directed by either Sasori Research or Corellia Digital. Most of the crew were sourced from Sasori Research's biots, including the backup musicians and dancers supporting Zak on a particular track or as part of choreography for the show.
  • Climate: All the criticisms and complaints associated with child actors and young performers were applicable to working with Glitch. Moody, sometimes disengaged, and othertimes overly excited or energetic, it was hard for a co-worker or director to know just what they were going to get from the boy.
  • Reputation: As with most music groups, Glitch had a mixed reputation. Supported by its fans, reviled by its detractors, Glitch was both praised for innovation in remixing music that was often either overlooked or deemed obscure, while others viewed it as derivative and talentless for the same. Those who had discovered the Nautolan's talents as part of Underground Revival, a rock band, often complained that the youngling had forgotten where he'd come from and betrayed the UR fans by adopting a sound that was more gliz and wreckpunk. Others continued to view the boy as one of the best bass guitarists of the current generation.
  • Curios: Backstage passes, Underground Revival t-shirts, Glitch apparel.
  • Rules: As Glitch was a 13-year-old Nautolan minor, galactic laws limiting the employment of younglings were applicable to Glitch and its activities. Also as Glitch's producer and major sponsors were Jedi-owned companies, in-person venues and events were limited to areas deemed safe or appropriate for the young artist.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Glitch was the stage name used by Zak Dymo after the launch of a solo career following the almost famous quasi-success of an Outer Rim musical group that had been known as Underground Revival.

Originally the name of his HikHok account, Glitch found use as his stage name when DJing venues in the Outer Rim. Eventually, Glitch broke out as a musical artist, transitioning from bass guitarist to frontman. Bass notes continued to feature prominently in his music, including remixes, as the bass guitar remained a favored instrument for him. With a diverse taste in music, Glitch sampled a wide variety of genres when composing -- whether a remix or original song -- causing it to be difficult to define as the sound could vary significantly from one album to the next.

Glitch performed the opening theme to the Holoflix animated series Darkwire Duck (titled Crash!), as well as supplied the remix of Does Anyone Weep? (re-titled d035_4ny1_w33p?) that served as the series ending theme. With an overall synth sound that relies on drum loops, background tracks, and a degree of autotune, Glitch was considered to be broadly defined as gliz, though contained a number of elements that were derived from core drive, dusk, wreckpunk, as well as warbat trance.

Some considered Glitch to be a form of religious music. As the artist was a Force Sensitive born in the Alliance, he had been raised as a Jedi. For that reason, Glitch was sometimes labeled as Jedi Alternative Rock, particularly by critics of the Jedi as an institution. Glitch music was typically banned in Sith territories for the same reason.
