  • Defences: Tailored using Locke and Key’s signature Sichouweave the suits provide their wearer a significantly higher level of protection that the standard fabrics used in clothing, such as wool or cotton. The songsteel woven through the fabric provides a high resistance to most common damage types in the galaxy, blasters, blades and lightsabers. The life of most executives doesn’t include a significant amount of danger, of running gunfights and stabbing blades, the Zhunu line wasn’t aimed at most executives. Leaders of industry knew that while their lives appeared to be safe, conflict, assassins or bounty-hunters could appear at any moment. You never knew when your security would be compromised, when having that last little surprise might save your life.
  • Temperature Regulating: The silk linings of the suits that make up the line are woven through with carbon nanotubes which allows the fabric to alter it’s insulative profile as the temperature changes. In warmer environments the lining becomes more breathable allowing body heat to escape while in colder environs the lining becomes better at retaining heat. It is this touch that allows the wearer to remain comfortable no matter the office or gathering they might find themselves at.
  • Health Tracker: The suits come embedded with medical sensors that provide a general overview of health, heartrate etc. While the suit isn’t designed to exercise in, staying healthy and monitoring your health, especially with the late nights and lifestyle many executives lead was seen by the designers as a helpful addition. The sensors can be deactivated if you wish, but they do have the advantage of allowing the suit to act as a biometric identifier for security purposes.
  • Smart Suit: The bundles of ultrachrome that run through the suit generate a low-level magnetic field which allows the surface of the suits to act as an e-textile. A specialized pocket exists for a communicator, allowing it to transmit and receive signals from the rest of the suit. It can be programmed to react to these signals, a tap on the suit’s sleeve to answer a call, a brush along a pocket to send a message or to skip a music track. This touch capability also allows the suit to be used to transmit preset communications through the communicator, from messages to commands to other electronics. The fact that the entire surface of the suit is a touch-sensitive surface allows these commands to be discrete and each user can tailor the commands to their wishes, allowing them to provide a level of security to their communications.
  • Looks the part: The most important element of a suit is that it looks the part, sleek and stylish.
  • That perfect fall: The suit can generate a slight magnetic field which ensures that the fall of the fabric is just perfect, no matter who wears it the suit will fall exactly as it was tailored. In addition, the fall of the fabric is cut just so that it will conceal basic weapons hidden beneath the suit. A weapon in a shoulder holster, or stored behind your back will be disguised by the fall of the fabric.

  • Not a suit of armour: While the sichouweave the suits are constructed from has light protective capabilities which are far superior to the cotton and wool that most clothes are made of, it is still just a suit.
  • Limited Regulation: The nanotube woven silk lining allows the suit to alter its insulative capabilities to allow the wearer a certain level of comfort no matter the temperature it is not an environmental suit. The nanofibres just allow the silk to breath more, or to retain heat, but will not have any effect on more extreme temperatures. The suit can make you comfortable when walking outside, or settling into a climate controlled environment but would not help if you were cast onto Tatooine or Hoth.

There was something about a good suit that draws the eye, that can transform you just by wearing it. It is the hallmark of the executive, the businessman, the captains of finance, politics and the tip of the social spectrum. The importance of a suit for blending in, for establishing your place can’t be over exaggerated, it was a uniform that could be seen the galaxy over. The cut of your suit, the materials and the brand could make a world of difference to your social standing, to the aura you exuded.
However, the suit was a piece of clothing that hadn’t seen a significant amount of progress or adaption for thousands of years. It was this that Locke and Key wanted to change.
Working with fashion houses and designers the galaxy over, Locke and Key designed a line of clothing that mixed comfort and fashionable wear with the subtle inbuilt technologies that were their trademark. This was a suit for the modern day, and its form and capabilities made it a fashion line like no other.
