"Goddess, your words embarrass me." She retorted, unable to face Hanaya, knowing her shyness would overwhelm her. The goddess gifted her a hand however, and Zolasha kept it close to her as the pair walked. She hear the words of the goddess, and while there was truth to them, the fact was the life of her people was very different from that of the Goddess. Her people didn't build cities, they lived in the wilds. Yes, they loved their world, but did the world love them in turn? She wasn't one to judge that. A Taozin skittered above them, and she nearly tackled Hanaya to the ground as the woman reached for a device, and was relieved to see it only be a scanner. "Caution goddess, that is a Taozin. My people would fashion armor from their hides. It's said no weapon can harm them." Of course, that always brought up the question of how someone managed to kill the creature to begin with, but Zolasha had been too young to recall it.

She frowned as the goddess mentioned the ruins however, sorrow taking her heart at the words. "There is darkness there Goddess, and a being of light such as you, dare not walk in it's path." A thought occurred to her in the moment, of how she was comparably a backwater savage, and yet held affections for a goddess queen of a highly developed world. It was sheer madness that drove her, it had to be. "These ruins once were home, and I called hem such. Forgive me for being a coward, but I wish to not trample over the spirits of my fallen people." She meant the words she said, but they sounded alien to her ears. Was she perhaps lying to herself?

She halted as the final question lashed out at her. She paused for a moment, mouthing the word to herself. 'Sith'. Was she Sith? What did that even mean now?

Turning back to Hanaya, Zolasha drew herself close, her hand coming to touch the face of the Goddess. "Would you love me any less if I were, Goddess? Would you take me in your arms when I come to you?" She muttered, before throwing herself onto Hanaya.

Whatever came next, she would just deal with it. One crisis at a time.

Just like her people had taught her.

Once again, a deflection from the Hutt was all that met Pietro's words. This time, however, the deflection included more bold, heretical statements. Pietro was really fighting the urge to turn on his usual tone of hellfire and brimstone, and he slowly found himself regretting this entire event. He managed to keep his anger contained, however, instead allowing Ingrid to lead the way for a moment. Her statements were solid, stern, and incredibly matter of fact, even though they were packaged within a calm tone. She made a valid point, Carnifex's presence was not necessary to continue the trial. The cardinal didn't expect the Sith to care about the suggestion, nor did he expect the lawyer to respond with nothing more than further heresy. No... there would be nothing but the circus, all the way until the sentencing.

"The Ashlan government is not on trial here. Furthermore, you have done nothing but meet questions with questions. I am beginning to second guess your credentials. The Crusade does not recognize Sith authority, nor any political power that Carnifex claims to have."

A silent message came through to the cardinal as he spoke, signaling that there had been insurgents attempting to break through the facilities defenses. With a discreet press of a button, a silent reply was sent to chaplain Panaka, who had been waiting nearby with some of the Holy Guard. His movements would be swift as he gathered more of their forces to protect those inside the building.

"If you do not wish to produce any sort of credible defense on behalf of the accused, then there is little more to discuss, other than the sentencing."

Pietro could sense a growing presence, and it began to make him even more cautious than before. There was treachery at work here, though he could not make sense of it. At this point, however, the only way out was through.

~ I guess you've never fought the Sith at the conference table, have you, Cardinal? ~ she inquired. Still neither was her voice mocking nor hurtful, it was just a question.

And she hoped her words would distract the man from anger and resentment. Ingrid spent quite a bit of time with the Sith; ironically, she learned a lot from them in diplomacy, intrigue, and other social fields. The red-haired woman knew exactly how dangerous they were and was able to recognize that. Maybe it was the amount of time they spent with them that made the woman not make the same mistake as the good old cardinal. One Lord Commander, meanwhile, informed Ingrid that riots and an attack had taken place.

The woman replied telepathically to send a team of Ultranaut and Wolfguards there and two Psi Corps members. These should be enough. She expected all this to happen. So it didn't catch her off guard. Meanwhile, the Hutt continued to speak. The Empress then felt something in the Force. It was just confusion at first, then stronger. She looked at Carnifex. She was able to see the truth at that moment.

"Feth!" she said out loud.

She hadn't seen it yet, even when she was right there with the man in her own ship. Now, however, she saw the bond between Carnifex and someone else almost tangible. She immediately knew the shadow that grew and grew behind the former emperor; Darth Prazutis Darth Prazutis himself. She was about to shout the "ambush" when she suddenly sensed something in the Force. Ingrid usually ignores calls and signals from the Force unless there is danger. It wasn’t controlled like the urge to go somewhere.

Something will happen; thanks to the Force, the woman had an intuition. The Empress immediately threw herself to the side where Pietro was, grabbed the man's waist and pulled the Cardinal to the ground, then covered the man with her own body…

The explosion occurred at this moment shortly before their place. If they stay seated in the chair, they probably won’t survive. The explosion still tore apart the table, the debris flew everywhere, the man and woman not visible in the dust. Ingrid felt she was injured in several places, but now she didn't care. Rather, she continued to protect the man with her own body.

Panic and screaming began in the courtroom, followed by two more large-scale explosions in the room, and the building was also shaken by four more powerful explosions; the building shook fundamentally…

Hell breaks loose…

Eina was still in Geiseric's arms as the man hugged the woman's shoulders. She was still waiting for an answer to her words, but she also drew great peace from Gei's proximity. However, the discomfort and bad feeling grew in her. It was almost stifling now. And Gei's proximity couldn't help. It was not yet visible to the naked eye, but Eina within the Force could see perfectly as an area faded behind Carnifex. For her in the Force, all of Ession, dressed in the golden light of Ashla, was pleasantly warm, as if someone were looking at the golden countryside of Voss.

"No! The trial must be adjourned!" she groaned.

For her, appearing in the Force was like a tumour in Ashla's light, the Bogan's power was too strong. Her whole body tensed as she felt the Dark Side in the room. Moments later, the shadow was already visible to her. Not only was it a shadow of Carnifex, but someone else was present in it. She knew immediately what it was. She was not surprised. She herself was able to teleport to Gei at any time. The man was unable to do so, but the woman was. And those two were very strong for either to be able to do it easily.

"It comes… the other half of the dyad… is coming!" she said in a trembling voice. "This is a trap!"

The Valkyrja had already shouted at the end, but her voice was drowned out by the first explosion that took place at the podium where Uncle Pietro and her mother were. She had a bad feeling, she felt that the assassination was not over yet. She pulled Heinrich close to her too and hugged him and Geiseric as well, covering the two men with her wings. The explosions happened on their two sides the next moment. With her body and wings, she was able to protect her betrothed and brother from the explosion, roughly or almost entirely.

She didn't care about herself, as she had never before. Just don't let the two men get in trouble, especially not Gei. The wind and heat of the explosion scorched and burned her wings and her. Eina hugged them both tighter. The debris injured her skin back in several places and the heat also left burn marks. The many small and some more serious injuries were painful, and after a while Eina screamed painfully, though her voice was suppressed by the sound of explosions in the distance and the chaos around them…

"EVERYONE GET OUT!" The Gen'Dai shouted as the first explosion rang out, then suddenly he felt something through the force, sprinting towards one of the other explosion as he spoke over the private comms for the Wardens of the Shroud. "This is Lord Commander Krai, support is needed in the courtro---." He flew back towards the wall from the explosion, thankfully regenerating from the blast though still disoriented from the blast.

He coughed as he stood to get up, rushing for the door. "Does anyone have eyes on the empress!" He called again over comms. "Wait, wheres Carnif--." He fell to the ground as he realised his leg fell from the pressure he had put on it. It was practically blown off. God damnit! He closed his eyes as he called the force together, speeding up the regeneration process. Within seconds his leg was back in shape, though his military attire was almost blown off. He spotted the Empress over to the side and moved towards her, spotting the Cardinal. He quickly scanned his surroundings looking for the best possible. My Lord, are you alright? I must find Carnifex." With that he searched the room, looking for the Butcher King.

A breath before the deep plunge.

Carnifex stood.

The detonations ripped through the courtroom, sending debris and bodies flying in every direction. Fire and smoke choked the air as panic washed over the survivors, everyone scrambling to avoid the fire and break out for fresh breath. Those that reached the courtroom doors first would find that, despite their best efforts, the doors would not budge an inch. Something dark and unnatural had sealed the doors against the protestations, trapping them in the rapidly growing inferno. In the panic and confusion of the initial bomb blast, the Dark Lord's lawyer had disappeared on cue.

Raising his manacled hands above His head, the Dark Lord breached in the smoke without concern or difficulty. From the growing shadow behind Him emerged a glimmer of light, the tip of a sword pushing through the inky blackness before bursting into reality. Attached to the sword was a powerful arm, cloaked in armor and shadows, that deftly slashed the sword upwards once the tip had passed under the connective energy strand of the Dark Lord's shackles. A sharp crackle burst from the binders as they were broken simultaneously, each one falling to the ground with a thundering crash.

Carnifex flexed His muscles, the prison garments shredding away with the motion to leave the Dark Lord uncovered. A second later, bright blue fire sprung forth from the palms of His hands and crept up His arms and down His torso and legs. As it passed over His skin, nudity was replaced with macabre runic armor. The dark figure at His back emerged fully from the darkness, the flames of the courtroom shining on the visage of Darth Prazutis Darth Prazutis as he materialized from the Dark Lord's elongated shadow.

Together, the two Dark Lords began to levitate in the air and pulsate with the Dark Side of the Force. From one angle, both of them resembled the dyad as depicted in the ancient scriptures. Once they had levitated two meters off the ground, they slammed their hands together and tendrils of bright crimson lightning rushed out from all around them. The first bolts struck into the terrified crowd, passing from one person to the next and rendering those it had passed through a desiccated husk. Only those incapable of defending themselves were struck dead, the lightning was difficult but not impossible for those with the means to defend themselves through the Force to resist.

Then Carnifex reached up with one hand, fingers curling as the ceiling of the courtroom caved in on itself and broke away. Open air and light rushed in through the newly made gap. But far above the cathedral, the sky began to suddenly and unnatural darken with heavy storm clouds. Lightning flashed across the sky, the storm growing in intensity and spreading out from horizon to horizon. On a world enveloped by the warm embrace of the Light, a dark splotch of hate began to spread out. The storm was visible from space, witnessed by the Ashlan warships in orbit watching for any encroaching vessels.

As the storm continued to churn overhead, it would give heart to the Sith sympathizers that had emerged from the darkness of Ession's underbelly. What the Ashlan did not understand, what they might never understand, is that no matter how hard they would toil to purge the dark from the worlds that fell under their control, it would never be enough. The Dark was patient, it could wait a thousand years beneath the thin gold veneer of the Crusade before overtaking everything they had bled to build once they stumbled. That dark undercurrent was what Carnifex represented, the undeniable truth that beneath every good deed was a dark act waiting to break free into the light.

This walking avatar of darkness now hovered over the place where Eina L'lerim and her compatriots had sheltered when the bombs went off. He reached out with His right hand and sent forth binding tendrils of energy to wrap around and ensnare Eina, restricting all of her limbs and covering her mouth so that she could not scream or speak. He then forced her to levitate in the air, almost eye level with Him.

"They are beginning to understand."

Carnifex looked from Eina to where Ingrid was protecting the Cardinal.

"That it is futile."

Discipline.

Even in times of great difficulty, it was all he had practised as a Warden. Discipline, of himself, to resist the urges that came with the force and to be strong enough to resist spilling secrets about his order should he ever find himself tortured or captured. But no amount of training could prepare someone for situations like the one he found himself in. As the explosion echoed across the room and flames enveloped many, Thrask was fortunate enough to be stood at the door, a distance enough away that the main force of the explosion didn't impact him. Shrapnel flew around and Thrask waved his hand, using a light Force Push to knock any away from him or the people nearby.

As panicked faces ran towards him he reached for the door, but to no success, unable to open it. Cautiously, he stepped through the swarm of panicked people, making his way forward to stand closer to his fellow Wardens and the enemy before him. It was clear that Carnifex had a plan, one that would result in a lot of people getting hurt. It wasn't something he could just accept. This was why he had trained so hard for all these years. Protecting people, taking down those that would do harm to others.

While some prepared for a fight and others gathered in fear, Thrask allowed his two sabers to enter his hands, using the force to bring them from their sheaths and into his arms. "Lord Commander Thrask, reporting for duty. Do not allow Carnifex to leave this ro-" he started, before Carnifex blasted lightning into the room, a crimson energy shattering from person to person.

Immediately, on instinct, he extended a hand and used force stasis as a bolt came towards him. Even as a powerful force user it took a lot of energy, but it was enough to stop the branch of lightning that was going to land on him, presumably killing him. As he looked around the room, many bodies were scattered, those that were unable to defend themselves from the lightning. It was hard to imagine many had the force, let alone enough to prevent the lightning.

Despite his training, a strong emotion rushed over him at the screams and scent of death, as many died before him. Both sabers unleashed in his hands and he stood, ready to act alongside his other soldiers.

Soot and dust choked the air, rubble piled around them. Geiseric opened blurry eyes to see the floor directly beneath his face, blood spattered before him. Raising to his hands and kness, a cursory finger touched to his face brought dust-caked blood in several places. He looked up from the floor and surveyed the room. The explosions had thrown him clear away from Eina, and he saw no immediate sign of Heinrich. With another strained motion he pushed himself up to one knee.

Ahead of him was the sight he had feared. Darth Prazutis and Darth Carnifex, together as one in the Force the way he and Eina were, yet overwhelmingly more powerful. He had felt the other Dark Lords imminent arrival, but unwisely paid it little heed. He did not understand them, or the Force, the way Eina did. By the time her portents began to worry him the attack had already been executed.

Again he was too late to react when the Sith Lords released their bloodied lightning. The bolts arched between the pews and Geiseric watched as much of the House of Lords dissolved before his eyes. The sickening feeling at the sight was only amplified when the lightning reached him. The nauseating power of the Bogan fought hard for entry against the shield of the Light formed around him by the many artifacts Eina had adorned him with, as well as her own strength in the Force that he drew from.

When the bolt of lightning passed beyond him, he mustered the strength to stand to his feet. Before his eyes the former Emperor of the Sith levitated towards the injured Valkyrie, snatching her from the ground in some infernal Sith magic. He was not versed in those arts, but he could not suffer any such acts regardless of what they were. He knew Carnifex's only intent could be to hurt Eina.

Gei's right hand slipped to his lightsaber, still firm at his side, while his shield expanded from the generator on his left forearm. The dust in the air hissed and crackled as the plasma of the sapphire blade came violently into contact with it.

Standing ready to defend not only his world but his love, he called to Carnifex:

"We should have killed you long before now! Release her!"

Isla was focused on her hologram guiding troop movements when the blast went off, brightness filled the room and she felt like she had been punched in the gut at full force, her ears rang as she span to the ground, hearing her sword clatter beside her. It happened in seconds but the clarity was intense, debris showered through the room as the thermal explosives blew through the floor. Isla laid briefly, her head spinning and her a mess in front of her face. She reached out and dragged herself forward her gut ached and she struggled to find her breath for several moments. Reaching down to check herself she felt a wetness on her uniform and a tear through to the Pulvisa suit underneath. Blood oozed from a wound across her abdomen. "SAINT.... " she spluttered..."injury assessment please."

A hologram appeared in front of her, but Isla could not focus on that, as instead she looked through it in horror as Sith lightning arced from person to person in the room, some were spared, their Ashlan Rosaries, many of which exploded in the process, took the brunt of the power, and there was a disproportionate amount of force welders in the Ashlan side. But many were not so lucky and their bodies turned to Ash. A bolt arced toward Isla just as she pulled her Sabre in front of her. A gift from Eina L'lerim-Vandiir Eina L'lerim-Vandiir It's Alcehmised Estrian blade grounded lightning, drawing in other arcs nearby and protecting those behind her from a horrific fate. Her own Rosary warmed, but with the power of the sword, even the Rosary was protected.

She closed her eyes as the brightness from the lightning on her sword dazzled her. Only then did she assess her wound, she was hurt badly, and the blood continued to seep of her side, a piece of metal still lodged inside her.

Every movement hurt as she was pulled roughly too her feet by the Praetorian droids and bundled towards the exit. "Ashlan forces, Carnifex has escaped, threat Category double Omega.... she winced in pain as she walked toward the door that was off its hinges. Emergency security shields had activated around the court room but the SAINT AI was manning them allow escape from the cathedral by wounded spectators. "all units, carry out order Draellix-38".

In space and on the ground the forces received the order and moved to full battlereadiness. The Sister's of Ashla, well equipped to fight force users would soon have their ranks swell as Knave Transports and Raptured Sisters dropped from support vessels in low orbit. Dozens more fighter craft spilled out of the hangars of the waiting fleet carrier, ready to engage any airsupport the rapidly growing ground forces my have.

Isla had with a single order but the entire military presence on a war footing, she would not let her allies down today, they would deal with with the monsters Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex And Darth Prazutis Darth Prazutis and she would managed the thousands upon thousands of Sith sympathisers rising from the depths of Ession.

Her holo flickered as the first Mercy pods landed to shore up defensive positions that the Sisters already held.

Isla had her orders in motion, but now needed to survive, her legs gave way beneath her as her blood pressure dropped and one of her droids had to steady her. She prayed to Ashla that this day would not be her last.

Zolasha threw herself into Hanaya's lower arms, her upper arms came up to the woman's face. Little trickster trying to distract her. It was adorable.

"Would you love me any less if I were, Goddess? Would you take me in your arms when I come to you?"

"hmm, I'm not hearing a yes or a no there? But i hear a little assumption of your own to distract me? You assume that I love you? But I have never said such a thing?" she grinned, "So, if I confirm.....or deny? Your assumption, it would only be fair for you to answer mine?" she stroked her hair sweetly and smiled. Rocking her head and giving an impression that she was trying to make up her mind, weighing up the pros and cons.

"Yes Zolasha Tyrin, I love you, you fascinate me you sweet and fun woman. And I feel this regardless of the fact that ever since that fateful day you crashed on my world, I have suspected you to be Sith. You are a force wielder, but more emotional than a Jedi, and this whole Carnifex deal affects you, I can feel it"

She shrugged, she meant this. Hanaya was openly neutral, even the Ashlans were aware of this, maybe that is with she primarily dealt with their Grand Admiral instead of one of the more Zealous types.

"So now it is your turn? Would you confirm or deny my suspicions?" she fluttered her eyelashes and looked at the strange crown that Zolasha always wore. "it would make my considerations of asking you to become my Princess Consort much easier if you were to give me this trust?"

Krause stood in an of the city, attempting to look as inconspicuous as possible until the time was right. Of course he didn't know when that time would be, but the trial location was too well guarded for him to get in and rescue the Butcher King. He had arrived hours earlier on a transport as a traveler, no one could know his true purpose on the planet, no one.

"I'm coming for you Carnifex." He muttered.

"Is there a problem?" A man followed by 2 others said as he left the shadows he had been hiding in. A drunk most likely.

"I'm quite alright, now I'm afraid I must leave." He turned to leave.

"Now now, these are my alleys and you're trespassing, time to pay the price."

"I'm having a very bad day, so don't test by patie--" He said as he turned around only to see a fist punch him in the stomach, crashing against his molten skin as the man who had punched him held his fist in pain. "You've made a grave mistake, and it will cost you your life." He lifted his hands, using the force to lift the 3 men into the air and choking them.

"Pl--ple-pleas----" The man tried to speak, before his neck snapped and fell to the ground, followed seconds later by the other 2 men. Krause lifted their lifeless bodies into the air and attempted to hide them behind boxes. "This will have to do." He muttered. He walked out onto the street and began making his way, closer to the trial's location as an explosion sounded from the court. Guess thats the signal.

Well, she tried, but her diversion was unable to shift the stance of her Goddess. Hanaya's hands were upon her, and the woman could only await the judgement that was to be placed upon her. The goddess wasn't going to let her launch this futile attack without consequence however, as she began to tear into Zolasha with her words. She spoke such sweet things that Zolasha's ears had not heard before, and the woman was left with little to say, as her bluff was called, and the many questions she had harbored for her goddess were swiftly answered.

What a fool she was.

Had she been that easy to read? Perhaps. She wasn't exactly a stoic figure, not like she desired to be in her time as a Sith. Her answer to Hanaya's words became stuck in her throat, and she hesitated to speak for several moments.

"I am of the Sith, Goddess."
She managed it after several moments, but her gaze remained fixated on the ground. She didn't want to risk seeing the disgust in the eyes of her Goddess, to see that love she desired crumble away and die right before her. For now, she focused on that arms that held her, and she squeezed her arms around the woman tightly.

She imagined the pain that her goddess felt would be immense, but her mind processed the final sentence uttered by her Goddess, and Zoraya's head raised to lock eyes with the woman, glints of moisture forming at the corners of her eyes. "Goddess, your words hold truth?"

There was a sudden pressure within her chest, and her limbs felt heavy.

In truth, she had no idea on how to react.

The creeping sense of dread continued to build in the back of the cardinal's mind as he awaited the reply from the Hutt, his patience wearing thin with every second that went by. This had to end... now. Pietro was a half step away from pushing straight toward the conviction, but before he could get the words out, a shift in the room caught his attention. Something was very, very wrong...

The cardinal suddenly found himself pulled to the floor by Ingrid, just in time to shield the pair from the first explosion. Shrapnel and dust shot in all directions, a large portion puncturing the outside of the raised platform where they sat. In the wake of the first explosion, Pietro sensed further disturbances within the room. Quickly reaching out toward those in the room with his free hand, Pietro attempted to shield those he could. Another blast went off, followed by a third, and though he couldn't save them all, the cardinal's efforts had at least lessened the body count. Taking a moment to catch his breath and check for injuries, Pietro turned toward the empress.

"My thanks, Lady Ingrid."

Thanking her wasn't the easiest thing for the cardinal to do; his trust in Ingrid was still shaky at best. Nevertheless, she did have his eternal gratitude... something he would have to repay in kind. But first, they would have to get through the day.

"We need to move... now. Keep these Sith off of me... I have Ashla's work to do."

As the Gen'dai approached them, the cardinal rose to his feet, staring at the growing darkness that was the Sith dyad standing before them. A whole ripped in the building and a dark storm gathered above. Pietro knew that the Crown of Ashla would hold, but nevertheless, he could not allow such darkness to go unchallenged. He raised a hand to the sky, calling out to his beloved goddess as he channeled his energy toward the storm.

"THE LIGHT OF ASHLA SUFFERS NO DARKNESS!"

A great warmth began to build within the cardinal, and as it grew, golden light began to shoot from his eyes, coalescing above his head. With an upward push of the hand, a beam of golden light shot upward, colliding with the gathering storm. It was the most pure form of the Crusade's fight against the darkness, the physical manifestation of their holy mission. Light and dark began to swirl together, as if the energies themselves were fighting for dominance in the sky above.

The cardinal would not allow the darkness to take root upon Ession once again.

'So pretty' she thought as a small dark butterfly flew past and landed on a nearby branch. The air was soft and warm but she felt something uneasy in her. "So, I've been meaning to ask you something, a nice thing, don't worry." She smiled playfully, Lana was a lovely person who seemed to care a great deal about her family.

She didn't complete her question, watching as a golden leave fell from a tree, and was whisked away in to the air, responding to a breeze that was not there. Anashja held out her hand and shut her eyes, there was a change in the current of the force. She still felt the strength of the light from the nexus, but it was as if someone had dropped something into a still pool and small rippled of turbulence moved through the forest.

"Buir!" Came the sweet togrutan voice of Ti'zan "whats happening over there?" She opened her eyes and looked to where her son pointed, in the gar distance of the horizon, the sky darkened and flashes of lighting punctuated what looked like a thunderstorm. A beam of golden like rose up through the storm, even without the knot in her stomach, Anashja could tell this was no weather phenomenon. "Ik'aad, don't look at it, come on, show Auntie Lana where you saw those big flowers."

She looked at Lana as robed women started running around more urgently, she knew these were Ashlan soldiers on some kind if pilgrimage. "Lana, please distract Ti while I get my shuttle down here. We are probably safe in the forest as much as anywhere but I think I would rather get off world, just don't go to far."

She pulled out her comm, and called down her shuttle, the map she had indicated a small clearing a hundred metres or so to the west so they could meet it there and take off. The skies above the forest were still clear and blue, only the force sensitive might feel the disturbance so at the moment all was deceptively calm. After contacting her shuttle, she called out "This way children, our carriage is on its way"

A sudden commotion, a quick movement of wings, and suddenly, all went black...

Once the Blade of Ession regained his coherence, he found himself on the floor, covered in dust and rubble. Eina had managed to keep him safe from the bulk the the explosion, though Heinrich could feel a few bruised ribs as he pushed himself to his feet. As he looked around the room, he could see that not all were as lucky. The game the House of Lords played was a dangerous one, and they were suffering the consequences of their actions. There would be no time to help them all at once, so Heinrich quickly sought out those that would make the biggest difference.

Heinrich finally managed to locate Geiseric, who had been thrown to the side from the blast. Before he could call for his comrade, lightning shot across the room, dancing about in a crimson glow... a familiar sight to the Essonian crusader. It wasn't that long ago that he had fought the Dark Voice on this very planet, defending himself against similar crimson lightning. That time ended with Heinrich losing his hand... this time, he was ready. Reaching out through the Force, Heinrich gathered his strength. His right hand shot outward, catching the crimson bolt as it shot toward him. He held it there, allowing it to coalesce in the palm of his hand before forcing it to dissipate.

Just as soon as he had warded off the attack, the Sith was upon them, ensnaring Eina in his vile grasp. Heinrich's hand reached for his lightsaber, igniting it's emerald blade as he stood defiantly in front of the Sith lord. Nearby members of the Brotherhood of the Golden Veil ignited their lightsaber pikes, ready to support Heinrich at a moment's notice. He motioned them away as they began their approach.

"No! I'll be okay. Find the Grand Admiral! Get her and the others out!"

They didn't even bother to reply, immediately rushing to help the other survivors. A group of them moved for the Grand Admiral, assisting the droids in carrying her while the others kept their weapons at the ready. Heinrich stepped next to Geiseric, his blade at the ready.

"Say the word, Geiseric, and we'll cut him down."

An unusual reaction, but finally an answer, she felt a wave of self doubt from from her companion as she finally admitted to it. She held her tightly in a reassuring embrace. "I have never lied to you about my neutrality in that regard, I don't care that you are Sith, I care that you are honest with me, that is all." she smiled earnestly, there was nothing that would register that she was hiding anything from Zolasha.

"Goddess, your words hold truth?"

Smiling again "They do, you know of my affection for you, and I feel like you feel the same for me, maybe?" she raised her eyebrows in a 'this is where you say yes' manner. "obviously being Queen has certain protocol with it, and I don't want you to be some scandalous whisper, I want you to stand proudly next to me as my partner, maybe one day my Queen if the force takes us down that path?" she paused for a second "or we can go back to my home, you can continue to be my friend and to tend to my garden for as long as you see fit." she held Zolasha tightly, her heart racing somewhat at the thought of bearing her soul. So long as Zolasha remained in her life in some form she would not be entirely broken by a refusal, but she was more emotionally exposed than she was used to, living an otherwise very sheltered and private royal life.

"My daughter knows why I brought you here, I suspect she hopes you will stop calling me goddess once we share a bed chamber and you have seen my sprawled out and, 'snoring like a wompa' I think was the term she used." she laughed nervously, trying to break the tension a little.

Ingrid felt her back was hurt, something cut her. She didn’t care about the pain, the physical was never as bad and strong as the mental. As a matter of fact, the Cardinal’s proximity was more painful than the injury itself. Ironic. Fortunately, they were on the side of the room where the tentacles had not reached, but she could feel in the Force how countless people were dying around them and felt the Dark Side as well. As Force Storm appeared over the place, the sudden coming of a lot of Dark side energy made her hungry. But one thing is for sure, Carnifex did not learn. The woman thought the former Emperor had learned last time that it was just fuel for the woman. Unless…

Ingrid was still lying on Pietro, but she already knew. Eina! She knew the Sith were hunting for her daughter and what they thought of her, but she never thought Carnifex himself wanted to hunt down the girl personally. And what it was like to save Demici was what she was used to. She was also Tacitus' personal bodyguard when she was a disciple of the man and his right hand. I mean, not officially, but she did this job too. The Empress felt fear and dread around them; it has not been necessary for a long time to consume essence and absorb these. Now she consumed it, she felt that it would heal her injuries faster.

When the man was protecting the others, Ingrid was still lying on him trying to protect the Cardinal. Instinctive movements. She was trained for this. Her ex-husband's hallucination sighed wearily in the hidden part of the woman's mind, even though nearly three hundred and thirty years had passed, the woman still cared about others and not herself. Adrian always wanted to convince her from the opposite that Ingrid was important, not others. And she could already feel Prazutis.

"You can invite me to dinner as a thank you for that, Cardinal!" she replied in a flirtatious voice, as if there was no chaos around them.

However, her face revealed that she did not think seriously, the Empress' face was cold and emotionless. She nodded; the nod was serious and her gaze betrayed that he did not owe her thanks for this action. She stood up easily, and one of the Lord Commanders then approached her and Pietro. She spoke to the man not in a common language but in the High Nelvaanian used at home. After all, it was also the official language of the Eternal Empire and the first language of the woman.

<"Carnifex and Prazutis are mine, take our people out of the room, more Sith arrive, deal with them!"> she ordered to Hi'los Krai Hi'los Krai , then she continued on a communication channel. << This is L'lerim to all Eternal Imperial soldiers and officers, the Sith attacked the trial and the city. No Quarter towards the Sith. >>

It was a personal matter, not an imperial one anymore. The red-haired woman made a sideways motion with her hand, dispersing the dust with telekinetic attack, so that Prazutis, Carnifex, and Eina who had been trapped by the former emperor were visible to her , just like Geiseric and Heinrich as they would have attacked Carnifex. Pietro attacked the storm. The Cardinal's words are ambiguous, Eina was the Light of Ashla. It was like his words as if the two crusaders had been called to attack by those. She felt worried for a moment, worried for her daughter, not nearly as much as she worried for Adrian when he was alive, but yes, she was worried for her.

A moment later, however, suppressed this feeling. She looked at the two Sith Lords with an ice-cold, emotionless look. Then to Qal. A predatory smile appeared on the woman's lips, despite Pietro's attack, the shadows in the room thickened and came to life, there was no Dark Side in it, though Ingrid reached out to the Force Storm and began to absorb the force. Her power also increased, she no longer hid it, letting everyone feel it slowly begin to reach the level where it belonged to the former emperor. The real strength of Ingrid, further fuelled by the combined strength of Carnifex and Prazutis.

Countless shadow tentacles and tendrils appeared from the woman, after all she was Shadow-born, but there was no darkness in her despite the energy absorbed. She controlled her emotions on a masterful level. The shadows first targeted Hutt, the tentacles reaching the lawyer, then crawling under his skin and bursting him into little pieces a few moments later.

"I think you will need a new lawyer." she said in a cold voice. " So you're doing such humiliating things now? Are you hiding behind little girls who are reluctant to fight with mortals? This is so pathetic from you, Carnifex. Now that you are here, both of you… still cowards to attack me? You didn't do it on Panatha either, won't you have the courage to do it now? Or are we saying that you both are getting old? I remember when you did not hesitate to do this, or Lord Prazutis, when you killed Arenais. The time passed over you, old men." she tried to taunt them.

The shadows continued to thicken in the room, but they didn't hurt anyone. And Ingrid stood in the ring of tendrils and tentacles, but still in her red-haired, human figure, but her skin looked even paler because of the shadows.

"Perhaps you were afraid to attack an unarmed assassin?" a cruel predatory smile sat on her face, a mockery appeared in her voice, then she laughed mockingly she was toying them without fear. "Come on, I can't wait to devour the dark side inside you… prove me not afraid of me."

~ If they attack me, take Eina out and take her to safety! ~ she messages telepathically, and in the usual ice-cold military voice, to Geiseric Geiseric and Heinrich Faust Heinrich Faust .

The shadows and shadow tendrils crawled even closer and Ingrid continued to feed from the storm, but the Dark Side still had no sign of it. But her strength slowly reached Carnifex's.

The shadow growing…

Eina felt the embrace and wings weren’t enough, but she no longer had the time and opportunity to use Force. She felt the wind of the explosion tear her beloved crusader and her adopted brother out of her arms. The Valkyrja also fell to the ground, injured. She had mainly injuries on her wings, back and sides. There were burns and some cuts caused by the debris. For a few moments, she probably even lost consciousness. She was on the ground with corpses around her. She saw the tendrils; she felt the death of every single person in the room. When the tendrils had reached her, the Light side aura surrounding her glowed with golden light and neutralised the attack. She didn't have to do anything.

She was scared for a moment, but she saw Heinrich nearby, she lived, and she felt Gei, too. Eina immediately tried to crawl in the direction of her beloved crusader when she felt Carnifex's presence behind her. She would have reached for her spear, which was there next to her to protect herself, but the binding tendrils of energy reached her. In a matter of moments, the injured Valkyrja was embraced by them. She immediately recognized what kind of attack it was; it was not used against her for the first time. In the Netherworld, demons tried it a few times, but she easily shattered them, and those released her.

But now, she could feel these stronger even when they were just around her. A moment later, however, her arms were pressed to her side, her legs clasped together, and her wings tied to her back. She wanted to scream, but one of the tendrils also surrounded her mouth, muting the girl. Eina gathered all her strength and tried to break free. The Valkyrja knew if she didn’t succeed at the first try, she wouldn’t anymore because it would drain her strength. The tendrils moved away from hierabout thirty to forty centimetres as a result of her exertion. It was moments from liberation, but Carnifex and Prazutis were much stronger than she and Geiseric.

The tendrils did not tear, but finally trapped Eina. From the former exertion, she gasped heavily on her nose, feeling her weakness as the web absorbed her strength. Eina looked at Carnifex as the man floated her close to him. The blue of her eyes was just as nuanced as if someone had confused Adrian and Ingrid's blue. When she looked at the man, her gaze was exceptionally not like her mother's; Carnifex could see Adrian in it much more. Her features were more like Ingrid's, but the former emperor could easily see the features of the late Darth Prospero in her. Her Force signature, her appearance, her gaze, her features... a perfect harmony between Ingrid and Adrian, it was only the Light side aura which didn't fit in the picture, even the vergence matched perfectly.

Eina was helpless; she wanted to move, but she couldn't, the dark side hurt her a little. But it was much more fear and panic that she was alone, that the net was blocking the Force, and in vain she had a gland, it did not help in this situation. She didn’t feel others, it was like when she was locked in her own mind by the parasite and she was a prisoner of her own mind and body. She screamed silently, in thought, but it didn't reach anyone now. Perhaps Gei felt her fear through the dyad that Eina was suffering and was in the same situation that Hyrva and the parasite had locked her in. And for her, it was the greatest torture.

As a result of the exertion, her strength weakened more and more, Eina gasped frequently through her nose. Eventually, her head also fell weakly forward. The Valkyrja couldn’t turn where the others were, she couldn’t move. She could not perceive through the Force what was going on around her, although she could see the shadows. She did not feel the power of her mother or the two Sith Lords. However, her eyes widened in fear when she heard Gei's voice. She wanted to scream out loud not to do this, but she could only do it in thought. She knew Gei could not face them, he was not too strong to do this. Eina raised her head with great difficulty to look at Carnifex.

She knew it was a huge mistake to show weakness, but the man already knew how she felt about the crusader and saw the dyad as well. She looked at Carnifex pleadingly at Geiseric's words. There was fear, pleading, and beseech in her eyes that the former emperor would not hurt her beloved crusader. She didn't hide her feelings like Ingrid, that's why two tears rolled down her face…

Meanwhile, she heard Uncle Pietro's words and then Heinrich's, as did her mother's… and she was unable to help them.

"Understood, My Lord." The Gen'Dai replied to the Empress. He was't comfortable leaving the fight to them, but he would do as he was commanded. He turned towards the entrance and moved toward it, gathering the people as he went. He herded them out the door as he surveyed the damage of the courtroom behind him. Nothings unfixable. "Everyone moved to safety now!" Everyone obliged, sprinting and not daring another look behind them.

"Suspicious figures have been spotted in the city. Support is requested."

"Bodies have been found, possible murder."

"Possible Sith sympathisers spotted in the city!"

These calls all came over the comm line as he made his way out to the main city. "Repeat, where are these sightings?" He called.

"The suspicious figure is south of the courtroom. He seems to be heading towards it."
Spoke what sounded like one of the soldiers, sounding nervous.

"I'll deal with it, keep a lookout on the rest of the city and support those in the courtroom." This is going to be a busy day, and to think I'm not even able to fight the main fight in the courtroom. He sighed as he looked south. He was determined to defend the courtroom from any Sith support.
