The crusader certainly wasn’t expecting this. To make nice with any sort of those cult-like sects was, frankly, against his own nature. Jedi and Sith alike were oft’ considered two sides of the same coin. One being a source, and another being an end result. Whatever body they latched to, twisted into some fascimile of its original self. Such a perspective had remained even with the end of the short-lived crusade. Yet, despite his initial protests, the rest of the council seemed quite intrigued by this course of action. Taps of an ever-held poleaxe would resound with his approach to the aforementioned meeting place. He could only hold faith in Maji that this was not some sort of ruse to lower guard, or merely a waste of time. Unlike others’ accompaniment- his were adorned in the image of the Neo-Crusaders of yore yet still. Tweaked for modernization, most certainly, but honoring it all the same. Yet, he had left them behind all the same once the meeting place approached.

“Alliances have been formed on less.” Came a terse statement from Carduul to the winged figure as he arrived, holding little interest in the idle chatter overheard beforehand and more so moving straight to business.

A brow slightly raised at the mention of Jetiise as opening greetings were passed, and the upkept offense taken by one curious Mandalorian. That one certainly wasn’t a part of the Covenant. Empire, perhaps? No, didn’t quite seem like the type for that, either. Regardless, it should be obvious the word nary referred to them. A mercenary, he could figure; they were recognizable from the copious study he held. His thoughts would remain unvoiced, for it wasn’t as if he was the one who prompted such.

“I am Carduul Akahl.” Was the brief introduction, almost monotonous in tone. Perhaps some might recognize that name for the short-lived notoriety, perhaps some might not. It truly mattered not as much anymore. To claim whatever happened here would become some long-lasting thing requiring a 'foundation,' was foolhardy indeed.

He had quieted with little comment quite yet, as he took stock of the representatives of the subject of the day. Truthfully, the presence of one Jedi was at the very least…tolerable. Their sins were a far cry from the ones that the Sith held. The cycle would, inevitably, continue. Just as had happened the last time upon Dressel. Still, it was entertaining, if nothing else, to see what might happen simply by experimenting with one’s own choices.

“...I know not the aims of my kin today, but I am here for one primary reason: to seek out and wrench the life from the leeches that are the Sith.” Was one such opening statement directed towards the opposing representatives, upon the prompt. “There is little benefit to stirring conflict with those you represent, and you are likely to have such encounters with a foe already.”

For once, Gel had stayed behind from the active fighting, though that wasn't to say that he wasn't still involved in the mission.

In fact, he and his assistants had gone through the trouble of lugging much of his equipment throughout the forests of Odessen, a sort of mobile forge and repair bay for anyone requiring maintenance, replacements or repairs for their weapons, armor and equipment. Though Gel had considered going with the group attacking the smuggling ring, he thought it best if he stayed near all his equipment. Not only would that allow him to apply his craft more efficiently, it would ensure that if anyone tried to steal from him, he'd be close by to deal with them.

Unfortunately, that did mean anyone requiring his services would have a bit of a trek to get to him, though he was close enough to the action to get anyone needing repairs back into the fight as soon as possible. His apprentices would also be of use to him, two young Mandalorian bladesmiths who had asked to work under him despite what he considered to be a rather dark and shady past. If the apprentices minded, they didn't show it, and after Gel had told them his tale, he had been inundated with questions about what the Sith were like, what kind of weapons and armor they had used, and how he had managed to finally escape their clutches. Perhaps that was why they had agreed to work under him in the first place, or maybe they were just genuinely interested in Gel's life story. Whatever the case, Gel was glad to have the help, especially for such a large group that he would be assisting, and his apprentices seemed eager to learn, though they were both rather inexperienced. Nonetheless, Gel was proud to pass on his craft to those he though would most benefit from it, and for once, use their skills for good rather than for evil.

"Is the antenna set up?", Gel inquired to one of his apprentices.

"Yes alor, it is ready for your use", the apprentice replied to Gel.

"Excellent. I'll be using it right away then."

Gel walked toward the communications antenna and broadcasted a secure transmission to those on the operation against the criminals on the planet.

"This is Forgemaster Gel Karn. My forge is operational and ready to assist anyone needing repairs to their armor or equipment. I am sending you my location now. It is a bit of a trek from where you are but close enough to get you back into the action quickly. Please do not hesitate to see me if you require any assistance. Good luck to you all. Gel, out".

With that, Gel turned back to his forge as he readied himself for the inevitable work that would have to be done!

"The little one has a good point, I'd rather not deal with the brush depending on how thick it is."

Looking down at Braze Braze Braze Braze "If you what I could toss ya into a tree for the high ground" he said with a smile.

"That's, uh… good to know. I'll keep that in mind, friend," Braze offered softly. "I'm actually quite partial to heights; thanks."

He looked toward Kole Silco Kole Silco , listening as the older fellow offered his wisdom, before passing his pup a curious glance.

Master Vohm-Raet was the second to confirm that they should remain together, and Braze seemed to accept the assessment of the older men.

"Understood, Master. I'll keep watch over our rear."

He caught sight of some small, subtle change in 0-7 0-7 and stared up at her briefly, studying her. He made no verbal mention of what he thought he had noticed, nor of the minute detail his keen attention had somehow caught.

"We're getting closer to the ridge top. If I'm right, we should be near one of their blind spots"

"I like being near the blind spots~"

The diminutive, cloaked, and helmed figure offered Siv Dragr Siv Dragr a simple request to link their communications when he joined the group, followed by a small bow of his head.

"What's the intel on the base's defenses?"

"About a dozen heat signatures, irregular patrols, and at least one mechanical tripwire," Braze answered over the newly established channel. "They seem inexperienced, but they aren't entirely careless. We're approaching through the ridge's blind spot."

A second transmission drew his attention toward the location shared by Gel Karn Gel Karn .

"Transmission received, Forgemaster. I've marked your position," Braze replied. "We'll keep your mobile forge in mind should anyone require repairs."

The tiny figure was almost entirely armored, though his equipment possessed several unusual features. Sharp metal spikes lined his gauntlets, while narrow knife blades had been fitted where another warrior might have worn boot spurs. His war belt carried an assortment of tools, weapons, and pouches, several of which concealed small grenades.

The Jedi Exile of the New Jedi Order wore no traditional Mandolorian styled T-shaped visor. Instead, four narrow photoreceptor slits marked the face of his helmet, making it difficult to determine where the Echani's eyes truly rested beneath its impassive visage.

Stranger still, a compact jetpack rested against his back, its mechanisms passing neatly through narrow slits cut into the cloak. A stylized starbird had been fashioned into the armor of his right gauntlet, forming a bladed, spiked projection that extended slightly beyond his wrist. Several gemlike components had also been set throughout his armor. Though they appeared ornamental at first glance, each served a mechanical purpose. and the black linned jako-beast fur cloak seemed to conceal much beneath the wrap around design though various slits that sent up the sides allowed movement with out getting caught up in the cloth.

True to his word he took up the rear guard.

The sputtering sound of a jetpack pulled Vohm's attention toward the rear of the column as 0-7 0-7 vanished. He watched the Mandalorian descend through the canopy, branches shifting in the wake of his arrival before gradually settling again. Vohm regarded him briefly, then returned his focus to the ridge.

Braze had already provided the necessary information to keep Siv Dragr Siv Dragr up to date on the situation so there was no need for him to add anything. Ferrin Dorn Ferrin Dorn warning carried from farther ahead, making Vohm slow down as the path narrowed, his eyes focusing on the marking dart embedded above the concealed wire.

The trap itself was simple but its placement was not without purpose. Loose shale covered much of the incline, forcing anyone avoiding the wire to place their footing carefully or risk sending stones sliding down the ridge. He shifted the weight of his pack and stepped wide of the marked root.

The ground compressed beneath his boots, several small fragments of stone scraping against one another before coming to rest. The smugglers might have lacked discipline in their patrols, but they had taken some care to protect the approaches to their compound. It would be foolish to assume that every defense waiting ahead would be as easy to identify.

Vohm continued upward once the path allowed it, as the canopy gradually thinned around them. More of the pale sky became visible between the branches, while the cover offered by the forest began to diminish with every step toward the ridge.

"Confirmed, Forgemaster Karn." He said into his vambrace to Gel Karn Gel Karn , his other hand resting near his lightsaber without drawing it. They still possessed the element of surprise and there was no reason to surrender it before they got to the top of the ridgeline.

"Keep the pace steady," Vohm said quietly over the shared channel. "We are close enough that any sound we make will carry in the wind" He moved on through the blind spot Ferrin had identified, watching the ground ahead and the surrounding brush for anything that appeared out of place. The overlook would give them a clearer understanding of what waited below.

Matthew regarded Carduul Akahl as one immense wing shifted behind him, pale feathers settling close against his back.

"Then perhaps we have already found our first point of accord."

His gaze passed across the ruined war room.

"We have already tested that principle under harsher circumstances. On Dromund Kaas, the Sunfire Legion fought beside the armored forces of Breshig War Forge Consolidated, Jedi, and independent fighters."

His pale eyes lowered briefly, recalling black soil beneath a bruised sky, the roar of artillery, and the voices of those he had ordered forward.

"As Lord Protector, I petitioned Centerra's council to commit our forces. Though Dromund Kaas lay far from our borders, every captive forced to labor or to be consumed as food for their armies, every child remade into a weapon, and every conquered world stripped for resources strengthened the very same empire. I have studied several examples of where that growth leads. During the Genocide of Mandalore, the Sith plundered beskar, suppressed Mando'a and clan identity, seized territory, and subjected the population to slaughter, enslavement, and forced reeducation.

I can't imagine why any self respecting Mandolorian would want to ally themselves with any Sith Banners after such atrocities...

The Autoclaving of Tion , the Desecration of Coruscant , the Massacre of Tapani , and after the Galactic Empire seized Coruscant from the Galactic Alliance, the Sith Covenant conquered the world in turn. They converted the former Jedi Temple into a seat of Sith power, crucified prisoners, and pressed captives into forced labor... even the carrion acts of the Great Purge of the New Jedi Order , have carried the violence and devastation of the Sith further and further from their holy worlds.

These are only a few entries in a much longer record of atrocities they revel in. Each conquered world supplies the Sith with new resources, soldiers, and victims.

Such insatiable depraved hunger will eventualy reach every shore...

Dromund Kaas has long stood as a symbol of their authority, a seat of power once thought untouchable. We proved that our peoples can fight together when lives depend upon it. We proved that beneath all their posturing and fearmongering, they bleed as readily as anyone else… and if they can bleed, they can fall.

If you seek the destruction of the Sith, then we the peoples of Centerra share that purpose. A lasting alliance also requires a clear vision of what we intend to preserve.

I propose designated liaisons, shared intelligence concerning Sith movements and slaving routes, and coordinated operations where our interests align. Each force within the Farworlds Alliance retains its own commanders, laws, customs, and conscience. Together, we can better protect civilians, recover the wounded, free prisoners, and build a lasting defense against the plunder of our worlds and the erasure of our cultures.

Trust grows through promises plainly spoken and faithfully kept.

Let this be the first."

The wind at the crest of the eastern ridge carried a sharp chill, rattling the tattered edges of Ferrin's reaver-beast cape as he finally crested the lip of the stone overlook. He didn't stand up to admire the view. Instead, the moment his boots cleared the ridge shelf, he dropped flat onto his stomach, using the low, scrubby mountain brush to completely break up his silhouette against the craggy jungle terrain.

Below him, tucked into the jagged, forested hollow of the Odessen valley, the smuggling compound lay completely exposed.

Ferrin unlatched the Thorn's Bite from its magnetic backplate. The heavy, bolt-action slugthrower felt cold and intensely reassuring in his grip. He extended the bipod legs beneath the sleek alusteel barrel, settling the heavy rifle into the damp dirt and wedging the dark ebony wood stock firmly against his right shoulder bell. He racked the manual bolt-action mechanism with a muted, metallic clack, sliding a massive, high-grain solid projectile into the firing chamber. Before lining up his sights, Ferrin gathered small handfuls of scattered vegetation and vines, wrapping them around and across the length of the long-gun to eliminate the chance of a random glint giving his position away.

Tapping the touchpads on his helmet's temple, Ferrin linked the rifle's multi-spectrum optical hunting scope directly into his visor's heads up display. Instantly, the live data feeds from his drifting Bramble Flies synced with his crosshairs. The irregular heat signatures Seven had flagged earlier were now cleanly traced in sharp, digital amber outlines on his HUD, dancing between the corrugated metal roofs and makeshift watchtowers of the compound.

"I've set up my shooter's blind on the southern lip of the overlook," Ferrin's voice rasped through the encrypted, low-frequency com-link, entirely unhurried. "I have a clean line of sight across their entire courtyard and both forward guard towers. If things turn loud down there, my slugs will punch straight through their flimsy scrap metal watchtowers before their sentries can even up their guns."

He shifted his weight slightly, anchoring another heavy seismic spike into the rock ledge right beside his elbow. He didn't activate its wide-area tracking network. It's pings would be too loud to stay stealthy. Instead he set it to a localized, passive proximity warning. If any smuggler patrols tried to flank the ridge or sneak up behind the FWA and Covenant group, the spike would instantly alert the veteran pathfinder and he could sound the alarm to the group.

"Master Vohm, I've got the whole valley sighted in from here," Ferrin mumbled, his finger resting lightly alongside the cold curve of the rifle's trigger. "I'll hold the high ground and keep the overview clear. The second your frontline team initiates the breach, I'll start taking out their lookouts and heavy weapon emplacements from the shadows. Whenever you're ready to spring the trap, I'm on the glass."

Romul was last to arrive, so far. Fitting, as he felt the most out of place among them. Romul held no love towards the Jedi, though he did not carry the same rancor for their religion as he did the Sith. Still, it would be a fair question to ask what exactly the difference was; in Romul's time, on the periphery of the two's interaction, the line seemed to blur more often than not. What was true was that a combined history of several millennia led to longstanding mistrust between Mandalorian and Jedi; more recently, the Enclave's defining war, and in some ways, downfall, had been with the Galactic Alliance. A longstanding alliance that had ended with Jedi treachery.

The veteran Mandalorian had mused on that on the flight to Odessen. What were the odds that this alliance would end the same way? Could shared interests, 'enemy of my enemy,' outweigh potential betrayal? The Iron Covenant had no more room to spare when it came to any alliance they could make. There was no room left to stand on.

Those thoughts he filed away as Romul entered the meeting. The Clan Saxon Alor's footsteps were loud and heavy against the stone floor of the ruins, echoing through the cavernous spaces. One of them, a Jedi by the look of it -- long white hair their most distinguishing feature -- had just finished addressing the assembled Mandalorians and representatives of this Farworlds Alliance. Romul held his helmet at his side, and his usual retinue of Clan Saxon commandos was noticeably absent. The Old Boar did not need protectors here.

Romul strode to Vren, sliding him a datapad without pomp. "Take a look," he said in a low tone, shielding the screen of the datapad from other onlookers. He meant to be as inconspicuous as possible; the intelligence on the datapad was hot and classified. He cleared his throat to address the rest of the assembled, the representatives of the Rekav'dral, Maji who served as mediator, and the representatives of the Alliance. The presence of Breshig did not go unnoticed; that vode would trust them was a sign, not bad, not definitively good, yet.

"We are not mindless conquerors or ravagers," he rumbled. "We fight with one purpose. But for us, the power of the Sith is unchallenged. The High Republic wallows in indecision and corruption. The Mandalorian Empire is led either by cowards or traitors." Romul's opinion of the two was harsh, but not without reason. The Republic was inconceivably slow to respond to the Sith threat on their borders; what is more, the reports of the Empire's assault on the Republic's borders, attacking the Jedi, while they had not even lifted a finger to join the Iron Covenant in their crusade against the Sith, only deepened his distrust in their leadership. "Fifty years," he continued, his voice strained, "I have watched as the death of billions of my vode has gone unanswered. I am done waiting. The Iron Covenant is done waiting." He planted his feet firmly. He did not have a question to ask, nor much to say. His position was clear. If the Iron Covenant and Farworlds Alliance were to unite, they would need to unite over purpose.

”For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Yuri Maji. Jedi Master Kai’el might know of me, I kidnapped his kid a couple years ago. We’re cool, though.”

"You know, we met when you were much smaller," Jasper noted. "You may not remember that, though."

And he had met his mother, Shai. It must have been at a function for one of the little Nobles. An old wound from the brief scuffle with the Enclave, something that was frankly none of his business. It was a shame, really. Shai seemed like a very interesting individual. He would have liked to have a proper conversation with her.

Maybe in another life.

"Fifty years," he continued, his voice strained, "I have watched as the death of billions of my vode has gone unanswered. I am done waiting. The Iron Covenant is done waiting."

"I understand," Jasper stated. "For... some context, our Alliance was born from the Sith, you could say. Lander Stalwart Lander Stalwart and I come from Sacorria. It now lies within the grasp of the Sith Covenant, the Corellian Sector cut in twain. We've spent the last year rebuilding what we can. Frustration began to brew. We waited for a war that did not come. I don't serve some stuffy old creed or ancient dogma, I serve people. People that were abandoned on the other side of a red line. My people."

Jasper would calmly pour himself a glass of Corellian, using one of the damaged tables.

"Do not consider me of the same importance as my allies," he expressed. "The Jedi that follow me are in the service of the Farworlds Alliance and its cause. The people of Refuge, the legions of Centerra, the warriors of Breshig Warforged, are the architects of our union. They ensured our safe return from Dromund Kaas. My Jedi Outcasts in comparison are small, no more than fifty souls. I would ask that you look to them as the face of our Alliance, not myself. That being said, I have no intention to let tradition stay my hand. It is not typically the Jedi way to harbor hatred, but..."

The man's brow furrowed. The only moment of true disdain and rage he would ever truly outwardly show was admittedly tame. After all, one who had seen war after war was typically quite in control of themselves. Composure was critical on the battlefield. Even so, he made the truth of his heart and spirit very clear by his words.

"...the fire in the back of my mind spills out with no end," the Jedi Master concluded. "I can guarantee you with the utmost certainty that our collective hatred of the Sith matches your own."

"I have visual on the entrance."

Seven's voice came over the open comms, slightly muffled. She had positioned herself in a tree overlooking the mouth of the base, having taken an alternative route to arrive at the group's destination so that she could scout ahead.

"Perimeter is lined with Autoturrets, retractable," she relayed. "I can see the hubs of the towers in the ground. Twelve in total, unclear what the payload is. Guards themselves are armed standard. Looks like they scrounged up whatever they could find. Only exception is a
large one blocking the doorway. Concussion rifle, shock trooper variant of some kind. His duraplast armor looks half decent too. I hope this... trap takes care of things quickly."

There was a moment of silence before she spoke again.

"Inform me when you need me to move in."

And then back to silence.

KJARTAN HAMMER-HAND

"Ah, not a force-inclined folk myself," he admitted to the large warrior. "Just one of many representatives that make up the Farworlds Alliance. I'm here on behalf of the people of Refuge. Our Jedi rep is-"

"Just getting here."

It was then that Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el entered. Full beard, practical attire with a flight suit around his waist, a rather striking mechanical arm, and a set of crimson bloodstripes adorning his legs. A large claymore was perched on his back, and a sheathed lightsaber sat at his hip. In the man's hands were two sizable bottles, Corellian Whiskey. Well aged Corellian Whiskey.

"Jasper Kai'el," he greeted, "Sorry if I'm a bit on the tardy side. I was pretty sure I had a few good bottles of Corellian in my personal collection. Figured we ought to have something nice for all the conversation we got ahead of us, yeah?"
“Hmm...” Kjartan grunted while nodding absent-mindedly. The truth of the matter was, he didn’t exactly... read the briefing about this meeting, and who would be present. Skim was perhaps the more accurate word, and even that would have been a generous description. “My apologies then. I figured the wings o’ that one meant he was a feckin’ good one right enough.” Kjartan let out a loud chuckle, which was cut short by the introduction of the actual Jedi Master who would be in attendance.

The Hammer-Hand turned to greet him, and his eyes landed on the Corellian Whiskey that the Jedi set on the table. He knew nothing of this man, yet he was already the favorite. His eyes remained focused on the alcohol when another voice broke out.

"Who the shab are you calling Jetiise?"
Kjartan stifled a grin, putting on his best deadpan expression as he took a step closer to the vod who stood opposite him. “You’re not of the Covenant, that’s for damned sure.” He sniffed the air around him. “...and you don’t smell like a Sith-fecker, like some o’ our kin.” His lips broadened finally into a wide smirk. “Good to know these aruetti have some steel in their spine at least. Thanks for putting your lightsaber away to avoid offending us.” He offered the vod an arm in greeting, chuckling again in his usual jovial manner.

‘Karkin’ hell...’ Kjartan thought to himself. ‘Maybe this wouldn’t be a complete waste of time.’

Upon getting free from the embrace, Kjartan would inch his way back to where he was - specifically, in closer proximity to the whiskey. Carduul arrived, and in his usual manner, set about starting the meeting as though he were bursting through a door with a breaching team. ‘Way to shove it in dry you kath hound.’ Romul soon entered, and it would seem that the meeting would commence with a rather lengthy monologue from the angelic member of the Far Worlds Alliance delegation; summarizing the atrocities of the Sith that brought them all together under common cause.

Kjartan quietly grasped one of the glasses at the table, and began pouring himself a glass of the whiskey that was generously made available by the only Jedi present, it would seem (for Kjartan had never encountered a bottle of whiskey that he didn’t like, nor one that he didn’t presume was to be shared). He saluted the Jedi with his glass, then took his seat at the table, at Carduul’s side. The conversation continued as Kjartan took his first sip of the liquor - closing his eyes as he allowed the smokey flavour to wash over him. He let out a quiet sigh, which probably drew the attention of the Neo Crusader beside him. He would nod at the man, then lean back into his chair.

"...the fire in the back of my mind spills out with no end," the Jedi Master concluded. "I can guarantee you with the utmost certainty that our collective hatred of the Sith matches your own."

It was at this point that Kjartan’s attention rejoined the conversation. He pounded the table with his hand, and nodded his ascent to the declaration. “AYE AYE!” Once again, the old pirate captain smiled again - a golden tooth gleaming in the artificial light. “I like the fire in you Jetii, HAHA! I’ll fight at your side any day.”

He looked over at his companions with a self-satisfied grin. This meeting was going well.

Siv drew up with the rest at the ridgeline. The Jedi had said that there were only twelve heat-signatures, but then another reported the presence of the autoturrets. That significantly complicated things. It was hard to breach a position when you had a dozen automated laser cannons firing away at your position. Siv took a moment to think.

"You," he nodded towards the hulking Mandalorian, "take the big one. It'll draw the turret's attention. I can take out several with rockets. Can you Jedi take the rest?"

Vohm lowered himself behind the ridge as Ferrin Dorn Ferrin Dorn and 0-7 0-7 relayed what they could see below. The camp looked thrown together, built from mismatched structures and whatever equipment the smugglers had managed to find. The turrets were a far more serious matter, however, as they could cover most of the courtyard and would not hesitate to blast them down if they moved carelessly around the perimeter.

Even if Siv Dragr Siv Dragr destroyed several of them with his rockets, the remaining turrets could still make crossing the open terrain difficult. That danger would only worsen if the defenders were allowed to concentrate their fire. Vohm kept his attention on the compound as Korar Murrak Korar Murrak offered to deal with the armored guard.

The concussion rifle would be dangerous if its wielder was left free to fire while the others focused on the automated defenses. When Siv addressed him, Vohm turned toward the Mandalorian, already considering how best to divide their attention.

"I can handle the ones you leave standing," he said. "Watch my back and keep the guards from surrounding me." Once that was understood, Vohm removed his pack and placed it against the stone. It would only slow him once they moved in, especially when the final approach left so little room for error.

"The smugglers may be disorganized, but do not mistake that for weakness," Vohm said over the shared channel. "Those turrets can still cut us down if we get careless." He moved closer to the edge of the overlook and studied the descent. There was enough brush and broken stone to conceal part of the approach, but the last stretch to the compound would leave him exposed.

Once the attack began, the element of surprise would be gone. Vohm started down the slope, keeping low where the terrain allowed it. His hand settled around the hilt of his lightsaber as he approached the final patch of cover, ready to move when the others began their attack.

The abrupt, sputtering roar of a jetpack cutting out in the thick brush behind the column didn't make Ferrin flinch. He remained low against the volcanic stone of the crest, his dull, bark-brown Beskar'gam completely flat against the damp earth to keep his profile hidden from the valley below. His amber T-slit visor didn't look back as Siv Dragr touched down, though he recognized the heavy grunt of the veteran gunslinger immediately.

As Siv asked for the layout on their defenses, Ferrin tapped his left gauntlet. He streamed a condensed, passive loop of the mapping telemetry gathered by his drifting Bramble-Flies directly to the newcomer's HUD.

"We've set a solid trap around the encampment, Dragr," Ferrin's voice crackled onto the short-range, encrypted channel, a quiet, gravelly rasp filtered through his environmental seals. "Our eyes in the canopy have a clean tally. We're tracking roughly a dozen irregular heat signatures floating between the central cargo structures and the lower common tents. They are clearly not expecting any significant conflict and their patrol patterns are complacent. They seem to be leaning heavily on the northern ridge to screen their sentries."

He shifted his weight slightly, the dark ebony wood stock of The Thorn's Bite remaining perfectly still on its bipod mounts as he peered through the multi-spectrum scope. The digital amber outlines of the targets continued to pace lazily across the courtyard below.

"We've found some rigged basic mechanical tripwires along the low paths, but as far as I can tell there is nothing electronic sniffing in the woodlines yet," Ferrin continued, his gloved thumb resting along the opposing side of the rifle's trigger guard. "As our vod an have pointed out, we mustn't assume this will be as easy as it looks. The aru'e have clear lines of sight from their lookout towers on the ends of the approach, and at least of few of their fighters seem somewhat more...experienced. But its those gun emplacements that are most concerning.

Ferrin paused for a second, a brief sequence of data commands flashing across his visor HUD as his eyes tracked the transmission spikes emanating from the criminal array.

"There's an upside, though," Ferrin added, his visor shifting toward Siv and the Giju Master. "My flies are buzzing around their communications array right now. So far I've been passively monitoring their localized data traffic, but once we spring our trap, I can trigger their scramblers which should interfere with their outgoing transmissions. At a minimum, they should'nt be able to radio for backup once the shooting starts."

He let the data feed remain active on the faction comms, before anchoring himself deep into the foliage to ensure his reaver-beast cape fully broke up his outline.

"We've got the elevation and the element of surprise. Their lookouts are blind to us for now. When you lot are ready to pounce, I'll start opening up from this angle. Should keep at least some of the eyes off your charge. On your whistle, Master Vohm.

Shuklaar returned the traditional Mandalorian handshake without hesitation, "No," he confirmed. "And I would have told that ad'ika's buir what I thought of that when I worked for him if I thought that would have made any difference." Shuklaar and Isley hadn't always seen eye to eye, and his obvious love for the Sith was one of those times, whereas Shuklaar's deal with Silmar had been a deal with the devil, nothing more.

Shuklaar would be lying if he said he wasn't offended in the first fractions of a second he heard the lightsaber comment. Ah, the benefits of reaction and reflex enhancing cybernetics. It took him another fraction of a second to recover, "Well, you know the old phrase, Burc'ya vaal burk'yc..," he said, leaving the phrase half said to trigger memory of it.

"We've shed blood, sweat and even tears fighting the same enemy. Maybe we should shed their blood together now?" he offered in the wake of his previous sentence. Shuklaar didn't see himself green lighting another raid like they conducted on Dromund Kaas. The next time the Dar'jetii reared their ugly heads, if this all worked out, they would have a larger more united front to content against. Now that was something he could drink to.

Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el 's strategically timed arrival with Corellian whiskey probably helped. Now there was something they could all agree on, Corellians knew their way around a still. Shuklaar removed his buy'ce with one hand and mg-clamped it oo his belt before he walked over to the table, snorting in amusement at Kjartan Hammer-Hand Kjartan Hammer-Hand 's approval as he helped himself to some.

"Gal, ori'skraan, riduur, yaim' dab'ika," he said with a smile, referencing every Mandalorian's idea of a good shore leave. Well, that wasn't strictly true, a good fight or two certainly helped. "Start to a good partnership," he half questioned, more out of the superstition than predicting how a matter would be concluded before it was than any real doubt on his part that would be.

There had been a scrunch of features at the initial exchanges, for his skepticism was more than palpable in spite of the few worss. Thankfully, that was veiled from sight. Rather, he instead focused upon the varying responses of the ones who were arrayed before them. The most wary of which he had been, of course, was the Jedi. How could he not, after all, for the millenia of history that had laid past them? Much like the Sith, there was hardly thought before now to make exceptions.

“We need not be recited our own history.” Was the idle comment as the other went on about their own personal history with the Sith- which he knew quite well, he could add. His gaze had narrowed at the mention of siding with such wretched creatures as they. Gaze narrowed. “Nor can I imagine such figures garnering aid from Mandalorians...” He blandly stated in return, as words trail off with an exhale. Were there such Mandalorians? Surely not. Surely no self-respecting Mandalorian would lower themself to such a point as to work hand-in-hand with their most sworn, wretched foe. The thought would’ve been dismissed as sheer absurdity, had the existence of the Sith-Mandalorian Clans not been a noted piece of history in the long line of clans.

What had followed in admittance with the Jedi thereafter, however, was something that surprised him the most. His gaze tilted, as his gaze curiously regarded Jasper. “...These ones with a decent enough heads on their shoulders, after all.” To say the obvious, of course- but he was being gracious right now. It was an agreeance with Kjartan’s boisterous remark. “You should feel outraged. You have warred with them just the same as us, and as we have warred with your ilk. To feel rage, to wish to curtail this ceaseless, wretched parasitism upon the galaxy- it is the righteous and just thing to feel. I only wonder why more do not admit, or allow such things as they hide behind faux platitudes.” A small ‘hmph’ to escape the mask.

Gaze briefly flickered sidelong between others who were already far more receptive to this. He was far more reluctant to directly share details but…he supposed the Jedi and those they latched onto were the lesser of evils to deal with, compared to the Sith. That had ever been his goal, after all—to rid the core of the slothful fools who had seized its resources solely so that he could halt just a few more Sith from eventually spawning, and then take the fight to them.

Unseen eyes had returned sidelong to the mercenary Mandalorian that had joined them as apart of the Far World’s representatives. Shuklaar Kyrdol. “...I recognize you, now.” He murmured. Of course he kept track of such Mandalorian holdings as Breshig War Forge, and as his gaze roved over the other’s armor, it became far more recognizable from the volumes and data entries he had poured over. “...It is natural for our kin to turn to such work and turn a blind eye for survival. Though, I know you have endured many an arduous trial to get where you are now.” He acknowledged. The man’s story, he knew not- but he would like to believe the regret was genuine, if that was what he had detected in the voice. It was an attempt to comfort, however meagre or unnecessary. “I am sure many among our number would be happy to see some familiar armor joining our perpetual war.”

Braze kept careful watch over their rear, content to let the others take the lead. He offered Siv a simple nod, glancing briefly toward Vohm as the elder Jedi began his descent. Between them, they could very likely handle whatever turrets the Mandalorians did not quite get. As much as Braze would have loved to chirp some wordy little tease at 0-7 0-7 , he knew now was not the time; instead, he remained silent and watchful, keeping alert for movement along their flank.
