- Magnetic Belt Clip
- Offensive Implements
- Frontward Facing Hammerhead
- Rearward Facing War Pick
- Emblazoned with a Mythosaur emblem on both sides
- Capable of equipping up to five Shockwave Generator Rods at a time
- Despite being made primarily from Beskar, shows signs of battle damage
- GEL SMASH: Akalenedat is capable of inflicting extreme crushing damage with its Frontward Facing Hammerhead, assisted by its Kinetite Generator, Shockwave Generator Rods and Multipurpose Repulsor Unit
- Gel also stab: When reversed, Akalenedat can use its Ostrine Edged Rearward Facing War Pick to inflict grievous stabbing and cold damage against anything it hits
- Parry this: The Rearward Facing War Pick can also be used to hook and parry an opponent's weapon, shield and potentially even their armor, depending on how said armor is constructed
- Knockback: Against more lightly armored targets, Akalenedat can physically knock back things it comes into contact with, potentially causing them to lose balance or even be tossed away
- Indestructible: Being forged primarily from Beskar makes Akalenedat nearly indestructible, though its Aurodium finish has been rubbed or scratched off in several places
- Handy: Akalenedat is designed to be used with one hand only, freeing up the other hand to pair the weapon with a shield, piece of equipment or additional weapon
- Grippy: The way that Akalenedat's grip is designed makes the weapon much less likely to slip from its users hand, allowing the warrior wielding it to more effectively hold the weapon
- Beautiful: Though it is said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, most would agree that Akalenedat is objectively beautiful, a true work of art
- Gel no thrust: While technically possible to thrust with Akalenedat, doing so is far less effective than using the weapon's Hammerhead or War Pick, since their is no real offensive implement on the top of the weapon
- Short: Overall, Akalenedat is a short weapon, greatly limiting the weapon's overall reach and forcing its user to get quite close to their target
- Heavy: For a weapon of its size, Akalenedat is quite heavy, making it far more difficult to hold the weapon for extended periods of time and to recover from missed strikes
- Skill issue: Because it is so small and due to the way that the weapon is constructed, blocking strikes with Akalenedat itself can be quite difficult, especially against physically larger weapons
- Battery power: Akalenedat, like many melee weapons, requires a functioning Power Cell to achieve its full potential. If the weapon runs out of battery, it becomes unable to take advantage of its Kinetite Generator, Shockwave Generator Rods and Multipurpose Repulsor Unit
- Specialized: Akalenedat is so specialized as a weapon of war that it is now unable to function as a blacksmith's hammer or repair tool, limiting its versatility
- Unmistkable: Akalenedat is unmistakably a Mandalorian weapon, making it nearly impossible to hide one's identity when wielding it into battle or just casually
- Beautiful: The fact that Akalenedat is such a beautiful work of art makes it much more likely that Gel will be targeted by those coveting his weapon
For someone like
Of course, the name "Akalenedat" is something of a pun for Gel, since the weapon makes quite the "hard contact" with anything it manages to touch. Akalenedat is capable of producing extreme crushing force, being able to pulverize rock, bone and metal with ease. Even the hardest and densest armors aren't necessarily safe from the amount of power that Akalenedat can generate, as the concussive energy that it produces can potentially transfer through armor and plate even if the weapon itself doesn't manage to penetrate. Akalenedat is quite well suited for anti armor work.
However, the real value in Akalenedat lies in its other ability, which allows the weapon to send more lightly armored enemies flying. Akalenedat's Shockwave Generator Rods and Multipurpose Repulsor Unit can produce enough force to knock an enemy backwards or even off their feet, thanks to the weapon's Power Hammer heritage. Even against more heavily armored enemies, Akalenedat can still do a fair bit against them, such as making it more difficult for them to retian their balance or their grip on their weapons.
On the reverse side of Akalenedat is a Rearward Facing War Pick outfitted with an Ostrine Edge, giving the weapon the ability to deal both piercing and cold damage. The War Pick can also be used to "hook" onto enemies, binding up their weapons, shields and potentially even the armor they are wearing. Of course, anything that can be hooked onto to can instead be pierced with the War Pick, and the damage it can inflict onto enemies is comparable to the damage one might receive from a blaster shot or slugthrower bullet.
Brilliantly accented in Aurodium, Akalenedat is as much a status symbol as it is a tool and a weapon, one that is sure to be coveted by Gal's many enemies and allies. Even now, Akalenedat has already received its fair share of battle damage, as is evident by the areas where its Aurodium accents have either either been scratched off or rubbed off. Nonetheless, few other weapons can be as perfect and appropriate for someone like Gel, and for the foreseeable future, Akalenedat will remain a vital part of Gel's varied arsenal.
