Invasion of Humbarine | Skirmish on Abregado-Rae
divgradient14.png

THEME

The war against the Arch Enemy grows in intensity with each passing day. Recent expeditions to probe the Sith’s defenses in the Core, a bolstering of forces, and the most recent ambush on Abregado-Rae brought with it the realization that going about this operation alone was possibly not the best plan.

As the old saying went, the answer would likely be found with the enemy of the Mythos Fleet’s enemy. While they were located in the far-flung reaches of the Unknown Regions, the Farworlds Alliance had proven both their desire and their worth with numerous recent excursions against the Sith.

An invitation was sent to the heads of the Alliance and a meeting was arranged on the neutral world of Odessen, where the ruins of a centuries-old base would be used for the talks.

GlMWF7w.png

Located in the ruins of an old base, the leaders of the Farworlds Alliance and the Rekav’dral of the Iron Covenant meet to discuss the current state of affairs and possible solutions to both their problems. Both organisations want the Core free and their Enemy slain.

An alliance between them holds a tremendous potential. Neither of them can do it alone, not without significant losses. But old grudges still remain and opinions within the Mythos Fleet are divided over working with the Jedi within the Farworlds Alliance.

36DP1bF.png

While the respective heads are meeting, the combined gathered forces have a chance to mingle and work together. The decision of meeting on Odessen wasn’t just for the sake of heritage and respect for history, it was also home to a hidden base for a smuggling ring.

Hidden in the sprawling forest, the slavers, smugglers and other vagabonds rely on the isolated nature of the planet to remain undetected. In the interest of collaboration, both forces are instructed to move in and neutralize the expansive base of criminals.

The amount of bad ideas simply kept rolling. First it was a hunt to nab rancors on Felucia, now he had to play mediator between a bunch of strangers and people who weren’t fond of strangers. He wasn’t part of the Rekav’dral, but he was one of the few people within the fleet who not only were in good standing with their old adversary, but also good friends with key people.

The joys of networking…

Maybelle sat outside on the cracked landing pads, the base chosen for the meeting not only sat in disrepair, but evidence of various drifters over the centuries showed clear as day. At least the view from the old war room was nothing short of breathtaking, and he had done a little bit of work to make the place look slightly more presentable than it was an hour ago.

The guests and relative hosts were arriving, while the rest of the Alliance and Fleet set out to go pay a visit to their true hosts. With his helmet clipped to his belt, Yuri leaned by a blown out window and lit a cigarette as he waited for the crowd to gather.

He knew some of the people within the Farworlds Alliance, they were good people. What concerned him more was his own people who would be showing up. Some of them… most of them… were veterans from both the Enclave and the Neo Crusaders.

He had his work cut out…

Vohm-Raet adjusted the heavy strap of his pack as he stepped from the treeline, his boots sinking slightly into the soft terrain. Beyond the clearing, the diplomatic encampment remained quiet apart from the steady hum of generators and distant conversation.

Representatives of the Farworlds Alliance and the Iron Covenant were discussing terms on neutral ground, far from the attention of the larger galactic powers. Though he had not come to Odessen for the politics but to assist in clearing out the smuggling den that had taken root on this world.

His eyes focused on the Mandalorian warriors gathered inside the staging area, checking weapons, fastening armor, and dividing equipment between themselves. They were practical and direct, unconcerned with the finer points of Jedi philosophy. Vohm could respect that.

They had never brought harm to Giju or his people, and he saw no reason to create friction where none existed. For now, they shared a common enemy. Anything he learned about how they moved, communicated, or fought was simply useful knowledge for an uncertain future. Vohm crossed the clearing toward them, moving with deliberate care so as not to alarm the guards posted along its edge.

"The scouts placed the criminal compound two kilometers into the brush. How much training do you have in forest warfare" he asked, wanting to know if any of the Mandalorians here had actual training in this kind of environment in order for them to take the lead.

Once they replied, he pointed towards the northern tree line, where the forest grew denser, an ideal spot for smugglers to establish their operations as he searched the woods for any obvious signs of sentries monitoring the paths ahead.

When Lander arrived with his entourage, he did so in a very calm manner. No flashy entrance, no wearing his suit from the senate. What they did carry with them was a mobile electric caf maker, which one would plug into the wall to have it begin to heat up. Lander himself would offer a dip of his head to Shistavanen posted up by one of the several shattered windows.

"Afternoon," he greeted in a polite tone.

Lander found himself what few chairs remained in the establishment and brushed the glass off with his mechanical hand before he sat himself down. From within his coat the man drew a simple paper-bound book and began to read.

"Lander Stalwart," he greeted as he got himself comfortable. "Mighty kind of you and your lot to invite us out here. I imagine my compatriots will be along in due time..."

He briefly tilted his head as he heard the water in their portable caf maker begin to boil.

"Drink caf at all?" the man asked of the Shistavanen.

"The scouts placed the criminal compound two kilometers into the brush. How much training do you have in forest warfare"

Seven held her tongue. She imagined that between the scanners and their cultural history of beast taming, the Mandalorians of the Covenant should be rather adept at treading heavily forested terrain. Even so, she had been beginning to learn that her tone sometimes came off as rude to strangers. She didn't want to cause any issues for the Farworlds people.

The former assassin was only here to aid in the mission after all. A good deed for the month to keep herself on the path towards making up for her past actions. Her demeanor was still rather closed off and distant, however.

Seven sat on a perch in a nearby tree, infrabinoculars in hand trained on the spot where the Giju had pointed.

"Seeing heat signatures for about a dozen or so," she relayed. "Irregular looking patrol movements as far as I can tell, but I'd need a minute more to be certain on it. Likely amateurs. Suppose most are..."

Communicating during missions was weird. She was used to solo ops, usually that would up with people getting skewered from wherever they couldn't see her. The Evereni delivered what she saw in a flat, monotone way devoid of any inflection.

Then simply returned to silence.

Vren was slightly apprehensive.

He didn't share the rest of the Rekav'dral's absolute distrust of the Jedi and their people, but that didn't mean he was fond of them either. He wasn't as quick to forgive Valery as Yuri was for Shai's death.

But the fact remained that the Iron Covenant and the Jedi and their people shared a common enemy.

The Council realised that this war effort would take more than just them this time. It wasn't an easy decision - especially in Carduul's case. They had all argued for quite some time before finally settling that it was worth burying the hatchet - if not for good, at least for long enough to vanquish their enemy.

The Nynir'kad had reported that a group had recently launched an attack on Dromund Kaas and had managed to make at least some dent. They would be the natural first choice - they had faced the two Destroyer Sith and had survived. But they would need a mediator to approach this group to at least try and keep the peace. And to contact them for a meet.

The natural choice was the well-traveled Yuri.

And here they were, in some ruins in a jungle.

Vren was just about to ask Yuri if he got hold of the group at all, when a pleasant enough man sauntered in with a greeting.

The veteran placed his helmet on the crumbling slab of overgrown table.

"Dunno 'bout the kid, but I'll sure have one thanks, Partner. Vren Rook at yer service."

Ferrin Dorn didn't look like a soldier preparing for a military siege. He looked like a hunter that had simply decided to step out from beneath the canopy.

While the high-ranking delegates of the Iron Covenant and the Farworlds Alliance huddled behind the disrepair of the old war room to talk galactic politics, Ferrin remained out on the perimeter where the air was thick with the scent of damp moss, pine needles, and ozone. He had slipped down from orbit in The Iron Thorn entirely unannounced, running dark under sensor baffles. To a pathfinder who spent months out ahead of the Mythos Fleet mapping untouched worlds, the sprawling forests of Odessen were vastly preferable to him than the crowded, metallic corridors of a carrier flagship.

Ferrin stood near the treeline, his arms crossed over his dull, bark-brown Beskar'gam. He adjusted the tattered reaver-beast cape draped over his left shoulder, his amber T-slit visor scanning the dense brush as the shared forces began to divide gear. Slung securely across his magnetic backplate was The Thorn's Bite, its dark ebony wood stock non-reflective against the dim forest light. A traditional bolt-action slugthrower rifle was far safer in an unmapped woodland than a standard blaster; its solid projectiles wouldn't spark a catastrophic forest fire or give away their position with a bright plasma trace through the leaves.

Then, the Giju Jedi stepped forward, asking the gathered Mandalorian warriors if any of them possessed actual training in forest warfare.
Ferrin let out a low, flat rasp through his helmet's vocoder. He didn't talk up a military rank, and he didn't boast about neo-crusader campaigns or frontline tactics. He let his experience in the wilds demonstrate his credentials for this job.

"Soldiers train for forest warfare," Ferrin's voice cut through the localized channel, low, unhurried, and devoid of military bravado. His amber visor shifted smoothly toward Vohm-Raet. "Trackers just live in it. Military squads make noise; they cut lines, march in ranks, and try to conquer the terrain. If you want to drop a criminal camp in a dense canopy, you don't fight the woods. You use them."

He tapped his left gauntlet, and three thumb-sized, insectoid Bramble Flies unlatched from his wrist plate. The micro-drones drifted silently into the thick foliage, mimicking the erratic flight and acoustic patterns of native midges to completely avoid triggering any automated perimeter sweeps the smugglers might have rigged.

The Evereni named Seven spoke from her perch in a nearby tree, relaying a count of a dozen irregular heat signatures. Ferrin watched as the telemetry data from his drones seamlessly stitched together a live 3D terrain grid directly onto his HUD visor, overlaying his aerial scans with her optical tracking data.

"The assassin has the right count," Ferrin added, his visor flicking up toward 0-7, offering a single, respect-filled tilt of his helmet. "They definitely patrol like amateurs, but they've at least got a bit of tactical sense. They're using the northern ridge's natural blind spots to mask their sentries. If we try to push down the main trail, we'll likely trip their sensors before we clear the first kilometer. My midges are tracking two potential ways around their perimeter lines."

He projected a small, low-yield holographic map from his vambrace, sharing the drone data with the group.

"First option I'm seeing is this drainage ravine running parallel to their western flank. The brush is thick enough to completely mask our silhouettes, and the mud is wet enough to deaden our footsteps. It's a clean approach, but if they spot us in the ditch, we have zero high ground." Ferrin pointed a brown-and-gray gauntlet toward a jagged line on the map. "Second possibility is the Eastern ridge line. It's rocky, steep, and will slow us down, but it puts us directly above their camp. If things turn into a firefight, we'll hold the elevation advantage, but there's less cover from their lookout towers on the way up."

He let the hologram fade, his hand dropping loosely back to his side as he looked between the Jedi and the Evereni assassin.

"Those are my two-credits after seeing from the scouting data," Ferrin mumbled quietly. "But I'm no A'lor. I'm here to screen for tripwires and navigate. What say you?"

Matthew was pleased to join the gathering, despite his desire to accompany the combined force preparing to root out and neutralize the sprawling criminal base.

He was a towering figure, made all the more imposing by the immense white wings rising from his back. An opalescent sheen rested across the feathers, catching the light in faint prismatic hues. Despite their breadth, he kept them folded and drawn close, careful not to crowd those gathered around him.

He wore one of his simpler suits of armor that day, formal battle gear rather than ceremonial finery. His weapons rested openly at his sides, sheathed and untouched, while he had left his helmet behind so those assembled could see his face. Suffice it to say, he did not quite resemble a Jedi, despite his previous dealings with them… though the sun sword at his side might easily have been mistaken for one of their weapons.

His pale gaze passed over those assembled, lingering briefly upon unfamiliar armor, clan markings, and weapons worn with the ease of long practice. He offered no scrutiny he would not tolerate in return, simply taking stock of those with whom the Alliance might soon stand shoulder to shoulder.
Matthew bowed his head in greeting.

"Thank you kindly for inviting us here," he said. "I'm Matthew Of House Valendale." For the moment, he left his titles aside.

"I admit, part of me would rather be out there with the others. Still, alliances are not built solely upon shared enemies. It seemed prudent that we meet before bigger operations are set in motion."

Braze remained fairly quiet beneath 0-7 0-7 's tree, listening as the others spoke. He wore considerably more armor than most Jedi might have chosen, though his helmet's HUD accepted the transmitted data with ease. His gaze tracked across the information as it populated his display.

"I say it's always good to have professionals around," he chirped in reply to the ranger-like Mandalorian accompanying them. "Though I must admit, I prefer the advantages of higher ground…"

He gave voice to his preference between the two paths before glancing back toward their much larger companion, Vohm-Raet .

"Though I'm not certain how well Master Vohm-Raet might manage that route. Whichever path serves the whole team best may be wiser… unless you would rather split up."

Braze Braze Ferrin Dorn Ferrin Dorn 0-7 0-7 Vohm-Raet

It hadn't been long since he joined up with the Iron Covenant, now he was already on a mission for them. He couldn't nor wouldn't complain about that, though the planet wasn't great, his armor and fur trapped heat, he preferred the covenants frozen world.

Walking up to the small group forming, putting is 2.2 meter tall hammer up on his shoulder, he he heard what they were saying, "The little one has a good point, I'd rather not deal with the brush depending on how thick it is."

Looking down at Braze Braze "If you what I could toss ya into a tree for the high ground" he said with a smile.

“Split up? When the band’s only just assembled? Now you know we gotta’ at least make some music together first.” Kole smiled his signature charming smile as Zisu, his Lurca Hound companion, bounded up next to him, stopping underneath Kole’s left hand like they’d always trained.

“Now I know that sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. This ain’t just about a couple of smugglers. This is about Alliance and Covenant relations. At the end of this thing we might find ourselves constantly pairing up for a while longer.” Kole talked to the group but kept his attention on his beast companion. Kole pet the bony elevated ridge of Zisu’s nose, much to the low audible appreciation of the hound.

“I say let’s take the high ground. Together. It may take some time, but at least for now we got the time. Time and surprise. Hopefully nothing happens to muck that up.” Kole continued his left hand probing the blaster in the holster on his hip. “Now I can’t stop you from splitting up and getting all muddy in the ravine, but I can tell you I’m headed up the ridge. Anybody’s welcome to follow.” Kole admitted before fixing the collar of his leather jacket, whistling to his animal companion, and then starting for the ridge.

“I almost forgot. Not that you need me to say it, but good job you two.” He aimed the compliment at the mandalorian and the evereni. He complimented them not just for their skills but for their perspectives. Insight was the best thing one could gain from another and Kole knew it.

KJARTAN HAMMER-HAND

Kjartan was never one for pageantry. The reformed pirate spent many years aboard refitted rust-buckets, seedy dens of scum and villainy, and in a few ignoble instances; dumpsters behind establishments of ill-repute. As a pirate captain, there were moments where he had to be party to meetings of parlay with other captains, yet those were hardly any more austere than the former.

Yet as a redeemed warrior of the Mando’ade, he found himself edging further toward the side of being respectable - all the way to his new role as Voidbrand; head of the Mythos Fleet. Even still, how did the old expression go? “You can take the tooka off the streets, but you can’t take the streets out of the tooka.” Kjartan knew one such cat that refused to stop pissing on his boots, and while he was wearing them no less. The smell refused to leave the damned things for weeks, poisoning his olfactory senses to the very notion of owning one as a pet.

Anyway - his mind reflected upon how far removed he was from his erstwhile lifestyle as a scalleywag as he made his way down the loading ramp of his shuttle. His boots thudded against the landing pad, with every inch of Kjartan appearing to be a Mandalorian Warrior of some respect and renown. He wore his runic armor, with his horned helmet atop his head. His hammers were strapped along his thighs, along with his usual kit in the form of a pistol at his side and sword across his back. At 6’-8”, he towered over most people - including two sword-brothers who accompanied him. He made his way into the abandoned outpost, and caught sight of those who arrived before him. He removed his helmet and set it on the table, but then approached Vren first of all. He extended his ‘good’ arm in a warrior’s embrace. “One of these days we will need to bloody that armor again so you remember what it feels like, vod.” Kjartan let out a subdued, yet boisterous laugh punctuated with a friendly though firm slap against the Karjr’s shoulder.

His eyes then drifted to Yuri, which caused the Hammer-Hand’s smile to turn conspiratorial and rather sheepish - as if they were party to a secret joke. The Hound and the Hammer were party to many inside jokes and misdeeds to be sure, so one could easily take their pick. But then, Kjartan’s mind snapped to the duty thrust upon his shoulders. He nodded to the two representatives currently present on behalf of the Far Worlds Alliance. His head bobbed slightly in a respectful nod. “Well met, Jetiise.” His voice was gravely, though not unfriendly. “Kjartan Hammer-Hand, at your service.”

His lips pursed slightly at the sight of the caff-maker.

...did no one bring any ale?

Vohm remained silent while the others spoke, his attention moving between the fading holographic map and the eastern ridge beyond the trees. 0-7 0-7 had confirmed the number of heat signatures, while Ferrin Dorn Ferrin Dorn had provided them with two workable approaches. The western ravine offered concealment but it would place them below the compound with little room to react if the smuggler's discovered them.

The ridge presented a harder climb and greater exposure during the approach, though it would give them a better view of the compound before committing to an attack. Braze Braze concern was acknowledged, knowing that the rocky incline would be more difficult for himself and Korar Murrak Korar Murrak given their large size, but he had crossed worse terrain in previous missions.

"The climb will slow me and Korar down," Vohm admitted, adjusting the strap across his chest. "But it will not stop us completely." His eyes soon landed on Kole Silco Kole Silco as the man went toward the ridge with his hound.

There was sense beneath the humor, as splitting their forces before they had learned how one another operated would create more problems than it solved. If something went wrong, neither group could be certain how quickly the other would respond.

"We stay together," Vohm decided. "The ridge gives us the best view of the compound, and I would rather see what we are walking into before choosing where to strike." He turned toward Ferrin, giving the Mandalorian a respectful nod with his head.

"Take the lead and watch for sensors or traps. Seven can continue tracking the patrols from above, provided the canopy allows it. The rest of us should keep enough distance between one another that a single trap cannot catch the entire group." It was not an elaborate plan, but there was no need for one yet. They knew the smugglers' approximate numbers, their patrols appeared undisciplined, and surprise remained on their side. Anything more detailed would be built upon assumptions rather than what they could actually see.

"When we reach the overlook, we reassess," Vohm continued. "If their defenses are weak, we move quickly. If they are better prepared than they appear, we find another way inside." Satisfied that everyone had been heard, Vohm stepped toward the eastern ridge. His pace was slow, leaving Ferrin room to scout ahead while keeping the others close enough to respond if the forest concealed more than smugglers.

"Dunno 'bout the kid, but I'll sure have one thanks, Partner. Vren Rook at yer service."

"Well met then," Lander nodded, standing to go pour a cup of caf for man who requested. "'fraid we haven't got creamer, so I hope you don't mind it a bit on the bitter side."

“Well met, Jetiise.” His voice was gravely, though not unfriendly. “Kjartan Hammer-Hand, at your service.”

Lander turned to meet the gaze of a much larger man now. He smiled a bit more bemusedly when he addressed both himself and Matthew of Valendale Matthew of Valendale as Jetise. Jedi.

"Ah, not a force-inclined folk myself," he admitted to the large warrior. "Just one of many representatives that make up the Farworlds Alliance. I'm here on behalf of the people of Refuge. Our Jedi rep is-"

"Just getting here."

It was then that Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el entered. Full beard, practical attire with a flight suit around his waist, a rather striking mechanical arm, and a set of crimson bloodstripes adorning his legs. A large claymore was perched on his back, and a sheathed lightsaber sat at his hip. In the man's hands were two sizable bottles, Corellian Whiskey. Well aged Corellian Whiskey.

"Jasper Kai'el," he greeted, "Sorry if I'm a bit on the tardy side. I was pretty sure I had a few good bottles of Corellian in my personal collection. Figured we ought to have something nice for all the conversation we got ahead of us, yeah?"

“I almost forgot. Not that you need me to say it, but good job you two.” He aimed the compliment at the mandalorian and the evereni.

Seven didn't respond, but her ears did flick a little. Behind her stone-faced appearance, perhaps she was a bit taken aback by receiving a compliment. It wasn't common in her previous line of work.

If something you were forced to do could be considered work.

Fortunately one amongst them was a hunter, clearly experienced with traversing the rugged terrain. That would make their job easier. Ferrin Dorn Ferrin Dorn seemed to know his way around the terrain enough to help them formulate a plan of attack. Everyone else was quick to chime in and decide upon what would be best for the party. Seven, for her part, listened to every detail diligently.

"Take the lead and watch for sensors or traps. Seven can continue tracking the patrols from above, provided the canopy allows it. The rest of us should keep enough distance between one another that a single trap cannot catch the entire group."

"Understood," Seven responded, standing up from her perch. "I'll be in your ears. Focus forwards."

And with that she stood up and seemingly vanished into thin air.

Ferrin gave a single, slow nod through the localized frequency.

He didn't argue with the group's consensus to take the elevation advantage, nor did he push back against the Giju Master's command to lead the column. To a tracker, a decision made by the pack was law; it was now his job to ensure that the choice didn't lead them straight into a snare. When Kole Silco whistled to his Lurca hound and started the trek upward, Ferrin quietly fell into place a dozen paces ahead of the vanguard, his boots stepping fluidly over the slick volcanic stone. "A fine animal", he thought to himself as the pair stalked quietly up the path.

He adjusted the heavy strap of The Thorn's Bite across his chest plate, ensuring the ebony wood stock didn't clatter against his pack. Through his amber T-slit visor, the live telemetry from his drifting Bramble Flies was already recalibrating, shifting from the wide-lens mapping mode to a narrow-focus tracking grid. Seven's voice crackled a flat confirmation in his audio receptor before she dissolved into the high canopy, and Ferrin kept his eyes trained on the literal dirt beneath his feet.

"The ridge line has a lot of loose shale," Ferrin's voice rasped through his vocalizer, low and low-frequency to avoid carrying through the mountain breeze. "Keep your wits about you. If the big lads slip, the rockslide will give us away faster than a blaster shot."

Moving in a low crouch, Ferrin scanned a narrow cluster of low-hanging branches. His HUD flagged a minute, unnatural shift in the moss. He dropped to one knee, a brown-and-gray gauntlet carefully holding back a thick root. Beneath it, hidden flush with the red dirt, was a standard taut wire connected to a pressurized trip-casing, the kind of crude kinetic alarm amateur smugglers used to keep local wildlife from nesting in their pathways. Instead of trying to dismantle it with high-tech tools, Ferrin reached into his pouch, pulled a marking dart, and drove it into the bark directly above the line.

"Found a tripwire on the left side of the narrow pass," Ferrin reported, stepping cleanly over the invisible boundary and continuing the climb. "Mechanical, not electronic. Steer wide to the right when you pass the marked root. From the condition of it, I'd say their scouts haven't checked this path in days, but we shouldn't get careless just the same."

As the slope grew steeper, the dense forest canopy began to thin out toward the open sky of the overlook. Ferrin held up a flat gauntlet, signaling for the trailing column to slow their pace to allow the slower folks to catch up.

"We're getting closer to the ridge top. If I'm right, we should be near one of their blind spots" he relayed quietly, keeping his heavy rifle slung as he drew one of the Briar Twins, keeping the blaster low against his thigh.

Years ago and this meeting would have been unthinkable. The contract with the CIS was a difficult decision, but it had jumped them lightyears thanks to the resources and credits they'd been able to accrue. They violently disagreed on a number of issues, especially when it came to the beliefs of their people. Not the first time what was left of ancient historical records and recent ones were to be believed. There was a time where he had prepared to kill his own people in the name of freedom, that time was long past, times had changed. People change too. He wasn't the same man that had taken the CIS contract, as much as it may have benefitted the clans of Breshig.

The Farworlds Alliance as just the only way he saw things working. Breshig was wherever its people were, if that was scattered across the galaxy with a small concentration on the rim, when what did it even matter. At the end of the day, he was here to do what was best for the Alliance. If that meant forgetting old wounds and moving the shab on, then so be it. He would bite his tongue and hold peace, not like the alternative would fit the real problem in any case. The problem couldn't be solved by talking either, but they had a common enemy, an enemy that he had spent a significant portion of his life fighting and preparing to fight.

"Ragar, stay with the gunship," said Shuklaar over short-ranged buy'ce-to-buy'ce laser comms as he walked down the boarding ramp. The clan Nihut'tyr Mirshir-Jurkad Rammikad simply grunted in response, stoic as ever.

"Lander and Matthew out first," he asked as if to seek a last minute confirmation of their pre-arranged plan. "Whether they want to or not." Matthew and Lander were both more important to the Alliance than they both appreciated. While he had no doubt that neither were going to be a liability when the bolts started flying, the Alliance couldn't exactly afford to lose either.

"'Lek, let's hope to the Manda it doesn't come to that. Don't do anything I wouldn't," he half-warned. That of course was giving him carte blanche to get up to all sorts of osik when it came down to it. As long as whatever he did didn't result in war, he didn't really mind.

"I'll try not to start a war, alor," he snorted. Shuklaar couldn't help but chuckle. It was a little bit of a walk to meeting location, the sounds of conversation becoming apparent to both his buy'ce's audio receptors and his enhanced senses.

"Drink caf at all?" the man asked of the Shistavanen.

"Fresh caf?" be asked as he closed with the group that was assembling. "Should have told me, wouldn't have paused to make some," he joked with a snort. "I'll take some," he added on a more serious note.

"Dunno 'bout the kid, but I'll sure have one thanks, Partner. Vren Rook at yer service."

"Su cuy'gar?" he asked in Mando'a before switching to basic. "We can all learn a thing or two about sticking around from you, eh?"

“Well met, Jetiise.” His voice was gravely, though not unfriendly. “Kjartan Hammer-Hand, at your service.”

"Who the shab are you calling Jetiise?" asked Shuklaar, faux offense in his tone. He was sure no offense had been meant, but he would be lying if he didn't admit that a part of him was still irked at it being insinuated that him and his along with the Farworlds Alliance were being dismissed as Jedi.

Siv walked down the ramp of his starship, held high. The sight of trees towering above met him, casting their shadows on the glade he'd landed in, their canopy rustling gently overhead in the breeze. Avians squaked abiently; the forest, although quiet, was very much alive.

They were here to negotiate with the Jedi, that much Siv knew. Enemy of my enemy and all that. Though he hadn't been invited in the first place, Siv made sure to stay away from the proceedings. Though he harbored no specific resentment towards the Jedi, the last time he'd tried talking one of them down had led to the war between the Galactic Alliance and Enclave. Siv was just as fine to let them be; let the leaders discuss politics, while he got himself dirty. There was a criminal base that needed to be cleared out. Sounded more like busy work, but after Abregado Rae, Fresia, Eshan. . . Siv could use some busy work to distract himself.

He pulled up a holomap that displayed the coordinates of his other Mandalorians, which were being actively transmitted over friendly channels. He was a distance away. Siv sighed, stowed the gear, and ignited his jetpack, taking to the sky.

The mix of Jedi and Mandalorians would have been first alerted to Siv's arrival by the sputtering drone of his jetpack as he descended through the canopy to them, Siv taking best care not to snag himself in a branch, a difficult feat by the tangle of trees that made up the canopy. He was in the back of the pack; there was a massive Mandalorian whom Siv did not know, their hulk seeming to reach three meters, who dwarfed the light-haired human who could only be a Jedi. "Hard to see anything through these trees," Siv grunted to them both as if he had been there the entire time and hadn't just touched down. He stared at the Jedi a second too long before averting his gaze. He didn't want to make things awkward. "What's the intel on the base's defenses?" Siv wanted to have a good idea of what they were going up against before blindly jumping into combat; the veteran bounty hunter knew that knowledge and preparation often decided a battle long before it ever started.

Yuri and Vren both watched the first of the Alliance arrivals enter the old room… with a caf brewer in hand. An immediate smile took hold as Yuri flicked some ash out the window. ”Three sugar, black. That looks like the good stuff.” He perked up as he walked over to study the machine.

Whether it was some political trick or not, Yuri didn’t care. "Bless your hands." He muttered as he received his caf. The cup was carefully picked up and brought up to his maw, a pinky outstretched as an audible sip was savoured and enjoyed. The rest of the assembly began to pile in quickly, offering an array of amusing sights as both parties shared their introductions. Nobody stood out to the Hound, none of his contacts were here yet. Sure, he knew of Breshig’s CEO and he had worked with the man’s troops in the past but he wasn’t a regular contact.

At least one arrival was luckily familiar to him, though he suspected that the Jedi didn’t know him at all… at least not directly.

He waited to introduce himself and instead tossed the last remaining sip of caf out the window to slide the cup over to Jasper. ”I’ll take some of that. I’ll go fetch the Tihaar later if we need more.” He quipped with a friendly grin.

He instead turned to look at the gathered Alliance members. ”For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Yuri Maji. Jedi Master Kai’el might know of me, I kidnapped his kid a couple years ago. We’re cool, though.” The Hound introduced himself proudly, taking a sip of the strong liquor.

He set his helmet down to alleviate the weight on his belt and stepped up to the table, away from either group. ”We’re still waitin’ on one of our guys to join. In the meantime, I want to thank the members of the Farworlds Alliance for meetin’ with the Iron Covenant today.” He paused for another loud slurp of the fine whiskey.

”Now, seein’ as I ain’t part of the Mythos Fleet’s leadership and also good friends with a buncha people in the Alliance, I’ll be takin’ the place of a neutral entity and witness for this meet.” He continued, golden eyes drifting along each assembled member.

Another sip.

He kept quiet about the part of assuming the role of mediator for the talks in case things turned controversial. ”Anyone got any opening statements they’d like to make?” He asked with another glance at the two parties.
