TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Ammunition Capacity: Small. The launcher can fire five shots before undergoing a 120 second long recharge cycle. The ammunition supply is theoretically unlimited, but actual yield depends on mounting platform's power supply.

SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • High Damage: Each bolt of fusion plasma is capable of doing significant damage on target thanks to both explosive energy release on impact as well as the extremely high temperature of each bolt.
  • Long Range: Though the bolts cannot retain coherency long, their extremely fast velocity allows them to cover great distances in short periods of time.
  • Virtually Unlimited Ammunition Supply: The weapon has a virtually unlimited ammunition supply, meaning that it basically never really needs to be reloaded.
  • Fast Projectile Velocity: Because of the extremely high projectile velocity, the chance of evasion by the target is lower than with several other types of weapon systems.
  • Cooling Systems: In order to prevent the large amounts of heat generated by the weapon from melting it, the METL-02V has an integrated cooling system that will shut the weapon down in the event of it overheating in order to perform a coolant flush and to allow the weapon to cool down. The weapon has enough coolant for 2 coolant flushes. In addition, the system helps keep the weapon at optimal operating temperatures.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Consumption: The weapon's power consumption is so high, that it does not come with its own power supply, and instead relies on the power supply unit of whatever armor its mounted on.
  • Large and Heavy: The weapon is large and heavy, making it somewhat cumbersome to aim quickly, hence making it unsuitable for use in close quarters.
  • Cooling System Malfunction: Should the cooling system malfunction or become damaged, the launcher will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure.
  • Volatile Ammunition: Should the canister rupture, then it is likely that it will also explode. Such a situation is far from ideal.
  • EMP/Ion: If the launcher actually sustains enough EMP/Ion damage, it's accelerator rails will be permanently damaged, requiring a complete replacement of the barrel.
