Invasion The Liberation of Ossus [Republic vs. Sith Empire]

Force locked with the Emperor

Darc saw as the Emperor was impaled and then Daella was impacted to the ground. In the Emperor's rage he launched forward towards Daella, unleashing the dreaded Force lightning from his fingertips. Darc dropped from flight between them both and summoned the dark Force barrier to protect Daella. His barrier then shifted into a counter Force lightning; challenging the Emperor in his weakened state.

Vulpesen grinned, reattaching and deactivating his saber staff which he then clipped to his belt. "About time." In truth, this was Vulpesen's first lone victory against a sith. It wasn't a large one, but it was a stepping stone, and perhaps one day he would be able to compete with the big dogs. Still, if he wanted to do that, he would need to watch them play. Leaping from the hole, Vulpesen landed neatly to his feet, dusting off his clothes and finding that a piece had gone missing, giving him a slight feeling of annoyance. As for the wound in his leg, Vulpesen was wishing he hadn't given away his med pack. Still, this was an easy fix as Vulpesen simply tore a piece off his robes and used them to create an impromptu bandage. "Now then, we've got work to do."

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
In. Out. In. Out.

It was almost sad, but she had to repeat those words over and over as they moved closer to the settlement. It was essentially the only way to keep her breathing steady. Regardless, Aika kept a smile across her face. If, for nothing else, but to keep Ellwas a and Sochi from becoming too worried....or as worried as she was. Which was pretty worried, though she hid it well. After all, they were heading into a potentially hostile area, and their back up was not exactly right on there backs. What were they to do if they were attacked? Aika wasn't much of a fighter, and Ella and Sochi only had so much training. It seemed everything was set perfectly for them to get mauled.

Unfortunately, her constant thoughts of what could go bad prevented her from doing the one thing she had suggested to the others; keeping their senses clear. Before she knew it, they were surrounded settlers, weapons drawn. Now things had only gotten worse. At least the troopers hadn't yet opened fire. That would simply lead to a massacre of one side. In this situation, she had to remain calm. Or at least not show just how afraid she was. Truthfully, at this point, she wanted to run back to the ship and hide in cockpit. Yet, here she stood, faced with a possible enemy. No choice now but to try what she'd learned..

"Relax. We mean no harm. We come on behalf of the Republic, the Jedi. There are no need for hostilities." Aika held her hands out, palms up, to show she was unarmed. She looked to both of her companions, nodding to them to do the same. Maybe if they showed they weren't armed, things would go more smooth. Well, here's to hoping....

Kaine contended with Darc for a bit with his force lightning, but realized that he wouldn't be able to hold off the barrage for long. He then made one last push with his lightning before erecting a Force Barrier around himself, which the lightning arc over and rebounded off all around them. The ground was ripped up by the rebounded bolts of lightning, bolts scattered everywhere off of the defensive surface of the barrier. Some of those bolts even ended up heading back towards their owner, while the majority of the rest destroyed the land around them, and set nearby trees ablaze. "You are... a worthy opponent, and here I am... never once have I learned your name, Dark Jedi... Who are you?" He asked between puffs of labored breaths, his reserve of energy running low after fighting so many foes for what seemed like an eternity. However; he would never give up, not yet... He still had allies and subjects, and for as long as possible he would fight these hypocrites.

GREAT JEDI LIBRARY OUTSKIRTS

Without much chance to reaction, Daella was about to be hit once more by a barrage of Sith lightning from @[member="Kaine Zambrano"]. Yet, @[member="Darc Xavior Talus"] managed to protect Daella with the Force and lock lightning bolts with him.

Using this opportunity, Daella bounded off of her right foot toward the Dark Lord. Lopsidedly, Daella attempted her attack. She had held her lightsaber horizontally to the left of her. Once she got within reach of Kaine’s hands, she simply twisted her right wrist out. The attack was simple: an attempt to severe the hands that spewed Force lightning.

Yet the moment Daella attempted her attack, Kaine erected a lightning barrier that forced her back. For a moment, Daella no long seemed to be directly attacked by the lightning as it arced all around her - only zapping her occasionally as if at random. Once more, her clothing sizzled with smoke emanating from it. She continued to keep her jaw and right cheek covered as she maintained a dangerously close distance to the Emperor.

Just above the Great Jedi Library

The wind slashed against Rasu's face as she fell down towards the roof of the Library, watching their shuttle crash and explode as it made contact with the structure, bursting into a massive fireball. The Shi'ido's skin prickled as the heat wave from the sudden explosion passed over her, the tingle in the Force at their pilots death, also brought with it a sense of guilt. There's nothing I could have done for him, his mind was made up, she tried to reassure herself, but she still felt guilty for the man's death. Pulling the strap on her backpack, the parachute shot out, suddenly saving the Padawan from continuing her free fall into the stone structure below. Still in descent, the Shi'ido pulled out her holo-communicator and brought up a map of the library. It wasn't up to date but it was the closest thing she could find to an exact replica in the Temple, so it would have to do. She quickly zoomed in on the top most level of the library and found what she was looking for, a small ventilation duct that ran throughout the entire building. Rasu knew that it sections would have collapsed during the Jedi's abandonment but it was still the best way for roaming the library unseen.

Resting her feet on the stone roof, Rasu took of her backpack and retrieved only the most necessary of items, her comlink and empty storage discs for downloading any data that had survived in the library. Turning she walked over to her friend Akodya Mune who had accompanied her on this mission with the other Jedi. She wanted to quickly run through her idea with the human before declaring it to the rest of the team. She trusted the woman's judgement and would take on her advice so outlined her plan to Akodya.

"So I was thinking that we could travel through the ventilation duct, that way we can get to the archives that much faster without being seen. What do you think?" she asked. Realising that they didn't have the time to spare, they needed to act quickly before their presence was known to the Sith. Her team was extremely vulnerable at this point, having landed on the top of the building they were sitting ducks if an air raid were to occur. It was only the smoke issuing from their crashed shuttle that kept them hidden from those above but even now the flames were slowly dying out. They had to do something now or the Sith would be upon them.

Anger, such anger.

Shorn let the blows fall, sloshing through the mud as he backpedaled. The blue blade burnt black scars against his phrik-duraplast alloy greaves. Shorn smirked behind the helm. He counterattacked instantly with his cybernetic arm, launching an armored-gauntlet punch toward Marek's nose, followed by a brutal elbow at his chin.

The Sith Lord finished by launching a telekinetic shockwave, intending to knock Marek, Saki, and any others backward with enough force to break bones. He wouldn't let them close the distance again. Like with Diana, he would pound them to pieces from a distance. And when they finally did manage to close, their blows would be too slow, too weak, and entirely too predictable.

He could feel the darkness of vengeance inside Marek.

"Another Jedi pharisee, trying to carve up the big bad Sith in the name of righteousness." Mikhail scoffed.

Whirling around, Shorn splayed the fingers of his hand of flesh-and-blood. Five tendrils of lightning leapt through the air at Daella and Darc's unguarded backs. Not waiting to see the effects of his attack, Shorn turned back to face his opponents, dagger held in a low guard.

LOCATION: NOT QUITE SURE
OBJECTIVE: KILL THE INVADERS

The dashta eel of a certain JK-13 droid, JaK to those who knew him, awoke from his slumber and accessed a local terminal, plugging into communications to find that the planet was in disarray. Lady Kyros would not be pleased. However, invaders meant enemies. Though JaK was forbidden to kill Sith, she spoke nothing of these 'Jedi' or 'Republic'. Today he would be sated, today he would find blood. Clinking and clacking through old ruins and temples he spotted a young Suth enter his ship and flee. Coward was not worth the fuel exhausting. Still, if he was running fro something it was likely battle, and he had at least given JaK a direction to go. Heading unknowingly towards @[member="Vulpesen"], he readied himself for battle, to kill at a moment's notice.

It would be a good day.

A standoff with the Emperor

Darc took the remaining ricocheting bolts of electrical energy; sustaining what he could to fuel himself rather than take the full blow of it. The lock had ended and Darc could sense the Emperor's will was slowly dwindling. He stood back with his emerald blade still in his grip and listened to the severely wounded Emperor. Darc was about to speak in response but was interrupted by the rampaging Jedi Knight who ran ahead to finish off Kaine.

Saran awoke to the symphonies of the battlefield. "That can't help a headache." She muttered. Groaning, she sat up as @[member="Tyr-Kyr Magnus"] hurled outside. As she swung her legs off the cot, the medic stopped her. "Miss, you sure you're alright?" Saran smirked and replied "When am I?"

Serious now, she asked "How long until we need to evacuate this camp?"

Vulpesen stretched and leisurely picked up the daggers he had hurled at Shorn, fairly sad that the throws had gone to waste. Still, at least he had some left after the emperor had disintegrated the other ones. "Note to self: Get more daggers." He chuckled as a memory of his master, Zarro Verres came to mind. The old fox had said the same line many times after a heated battle with poacher gangs. Though, Verres also kept about twenty of the metal menaces in his coat. Vulpesen didn't really have the desire to clink every where he went, and thus he stuck to five, which now became two.

As he resumed his course to another front, he found himself sensing a presence scurrying upon his location. This one was much smaller, but Vulpesen was aware that surprises were always possible. Whoever this new opponent was, Vulpesen was prepared to deal with it swiftly and efficiently.

Exiting the shuttle that had been under fire had been a blur to Akodya. The piercing sound of blaster fire pelting the metal skin of their transportation had drowned out her companion's voices as the pilot yelled something into the back of the ship. Her heart began to pound as she grabbed one pack and strode toward the opening where air rushed in and fought to destroy all the odd bits and pieces that had been littered on board. With her chin slightly raised Akodya dared not look at her friend, @[member="Rasu Gan"], in case her eyes betrayed her. She could not say she wasn't frightened. This would be the first time the human saw battle. She knew there were to possible outcomes; she would return a different Jedi, or not return at all.

Hastily she jumped and let the wind swallow her as she plummeted toward the roof she had been aiming for, feeling as though her stomach had leaped with her. Akodya loathed the sensation of falling. No control. No escape. The only thing that was certain is that you would eventually hit the ground. Fumbling to pull her cord, Soon enough her feet slammed onto the roof, turning to see the shuttle she had just been on being ripped in half as it jerked in mid air. Still under intense bombardment she waited to see the figure of the pilot to make his exit...but he never emerged. Cloaked in fire the vessel soon dropped and exploded in the distance, the flames of the crash radiating toward the pair and prickle under it's heat. A sharp stab deep in her chest made her stumble...she sensed their pilot's life come to a cruel and abrupt end. It wasn't just the pilot. She could feel the death on this planet. Lives were disappearing one after the other, suddenly becoming silent. It was if all the stars in the sky were fading and leaving behind nothing but darkness. Akodya's heart sank. Closing her eyes she turned away from the sight and forced her focus on the task at hand. Sith would sense the pair soon enough.

Listening to Rasu's plan to get inside, Akodya nodded, her hand curling around her saber hilt. "Sounds good, but what if the ve- never mind, we don't have the luxury to think this through." She said, trying not to over think their mission. It was a retrieval mission, nothing to difficult...but their environment would prove to be a challenge. Turning her gaze toward the ventilation duct, Akodya walked over and kicked it open aggressively and eyes the long, dark drop that followed. With a burning fierce look in her eyes she looked over at Rasu.

"Lets get this over with." She muttered before jumping in...

Though the Dashta Eel, or JK-13 droid, known as JaK had a mild form of battle precognition, he was experienced or trained in the Force well enough to sense another Force User, instead relying on visual and audial sensors. Even still, this was good enough as the spider droid soon found himself infront of @[member="Vulpesen"], a man who was distinctly not Sith. "I will kill him." The first thoughts entered his young mind, and his tentacles flared out, picking up a few nearby rocks and slinging them at the man as JaK waddled closer, his metal appendages clicking and clacking loudly as he went.

He could feel it and see it now, the sith lord in the force was gathering energy from everythign around them as Syn rushed forward down the mountain still and neared his fellow councilor. The twin snap hisses sounded in his ears as th blood pumped and the plodding of the boots came. He could now sense Tracyn down there while he had a look on his face of somewhat disappointment. The boy seemed to be kept in his fury but the jedi master didn't have time to try and fret over that, he had to help as best he could and moved the saber behind him in a reverse grip to form an x behind him. The scents in the air now registered to him when he finally found the place and moved to stand beside his fellow councilor and defend her. The robes moving up a bit to show the gungnir MK IV armor and he let the force flow out to revitalize Kiskla. "You look like your having fun."

Saki felt it, in her boots as she kicked the platemail and then the telekinetic attack. Her body slammed into the ground while Marek went after the master. His voice coming out in a hiss at her and she pounded the ground in frustration, a small indentation appearing under her fist before she got up. Marek was distracting him and the Emperor was even being held off while she looked to the others who were in the dogpile. She could disregard Marek and from the sound of him he was just as bad as she was for recklessly attacking. Might have her in danger or she could help Iella as she moved and went to protect the other student of Darron Wraith.

Tyr-Kyr wiped his mouth and stood up still looking at the encroaching Imperial forces. Suddenly a voice broke his thoughts and he turned to find a girl, no more than fifteen or sixteen years old, rising from a cot. She appeared to be injured pretty badly as well and she seemed oddly familiar. "Im not sure. If they keep advancing at this rate we only have an hour at best." Tyr-Kyr said turning to face the young woman. "May I ask your name? You seem very familiar." He then said taking a few steps towards her.

OUTSIDE LIBRARY RUINS

Reason being she was comfortable with having both her hands occupied and working to the same goal. Like whirling windmills her blades propelled her and came together in unison toward her goal. But again, where she anticipated a physical collision there was none. Instead, there was a crippling pain to her metaphysical essence that extended to her physical structure. A painful, hoarse gasp expelled from her aching lungs upon the inaugural agony. Kiskla was no stranger to pain, but it had been a while since she'd been in a quarrel with one as capable as the Sith Lord that had challenged her now. He literally had more than 500 years on her. 500 years!

Her momentum was unbreakable despite the distraction, which meant she was on a collision course. The mud welcomed her when Cameron stepped from her strike, and she nearly screamed in pain from the impact. The aching of her bones, mixed with the external compression was almost enough for every fibre in her body to give out.
Almost.
Her vision was hazed from the pain, clouded from behind as she felt the Force's defensive, and healing current course through her veins. The Force burned in her body. Cells were exploding from both pain, and the deluge of light that she was drawing in from the planet's history and the brave men and women that she had travelled with to reach Ossus. Her senses were peaked, and over the pounding of the rain she could hear the snaps of the tendrils that twisted about his alchemic sword; a weapon she thought he would have used by now. Working mentally, she attacked the compression he was forcing on her on a molecular level, countering them with excited molecules that separated their impact on her. Her breathing was heavy as she heard his condescending comment, and she knit her brows in both frustration and determination.

That had been humiliating.

She focused her fear of loss, and leveraged it to her aid rather than her hindrance. An err she'd made when she was young and was in fact the child that Cameron had chided her to be. The next few moments were instant. @[member="Syn"] had arrived, and she could feel his soothing effects in The Force, coupled with her own healing. Again, she was thankful. She deactivated her lightsabers, and pushed herself to her knees, facing upward at her disdainful adversary.

Kiskla drew the Force into herself, breathing life into her bones and muscles. She felt it's breath of life, fresh and powerful while still immensely painful. That pain could be harnessed though, and expelled with a divine expulsion. A lesson that she had learned with Master Dista in order to cleanse the senate, but would be adequate in this situation; or at least, it would be an excellent time for a test run. She'd done the research necessary to have an understanding of the technique, and with her exercise with Dista, she knew how to manipulate it from primary experience.

Cameron wanted to see a Master of the Light? She'd use Light to get him off her back, and off Ossus. What happened next, was an intense manifestation of every light fibre in her chemistry. A destructive offence indeed. Usually, it would need additional participants, but Kiskla had those with her in spades. With the additional interests and aid of the fairytale spirits of light, Kiskla was able to deliver a vortex of raw blue energy in Cameron's direction. This immense attack was to blind him from his dark core, his very sithly being. She stood with the attack, directing the tunnel of blue not at Cameron per say but his celestial signature in attempt to temporarily bind it. A light glow rose from her exposed flesh, as the Force began to consume her, her cerulean gaze aglow with it's power. With more practice, she was sure she could permanently block it. But today? The repellent nature of the technique culminated to the point that the light could no longer be contained and pushed back on them both.
The Jedi cut off her connection immediately, and her glow dissipated as she skidded backward, dropping the heel of her palm into the sodden ground to slow her backward journey while her head spun.

Her breathing was heavy and hollow, she was practically gasping with each inhale. Through the rain and the pieces of wet hair that fell over her eyes, she glared at Cameron--- intensely interested in the results of her exercise. Perhaps she could do that type of cleanse to a planet next time, with more practice, and avoid this whole invasion thing altogether.

Finally, she replied to Syn's commentary, clutching both her hilts firmly, eyes never leaving @[member="Cameron Centurion"].
"Just starting to."

Just starting was nothing more than the truth. Never before had she tapped into that much of the light side.
Apologies for my late reply. I tried to catch up and include what was said, while still posting what I originally had.

Krag's entire face had gone numb and he was pretty sure that he no longer had a set of back fangs in his mouth. With a savage growl from the back of his throat, Krag stood up from under the tree and pushed it aside. As the Graug Knight stood up from the ground, he was pelted with fireballs as the Jedi Master jumped into the trees and began his assault. Krag, his powers weakening, pushed the fireballs aside with anger and rage acting as the fuel that was keeping him running during this time of weakening. As one of the Master's fireballs flew towards him he, instead of deflecting it, caught it in his colossal hand and chucked it as hard as he could at the spot where the Jedi Master was about to land.

Meta being a padawan, had to find another way down. His body propelled with the force as be entered the battle. It was like nothing he had seen before. The Sith where outnumbered, but it was still a gruesome battle. @[member="Mikhail Shorn"] stood with a dagger in his hand, this being Meta's closest opponent. He charged, lightning blurred his intentions but he continued to push through. Using Djem So, his blade cut in a diagonal arc of green furry. The force and augments giving him enough speed to hopefully match some of the opponents around him, Mikhail had his back turned, whether he would be able to react in time would decide the fate of this battle.

GREAT JEDI LIBRARY OUTSKIRTS

Before @[member="Mikhail Shorn"] attempted his attack, Daella took a couple steps back from @[member="Kaine Zambrano"] as he continued to pump lightning in a bubble around him. She kept covering her right cheek. Blood kept seeping out from under her hand - what had already been there had begun to darken as it coagulated.

Then, Shorn struck Daella in the back with a quick jolt of Sith lightning. Daella’s entire body twitched as she yelped once again through her hand. For a brief second, her left palm separated from her face. A splash of blood spilled down her neck and onto her armor’s breastplate. She quickly covered the wound once again. Her body remained hunched over for several seconds as if taking a tremendous punch. She eventually straightened herself as she continued to face the Emperor.

After Daella recovered from the jolt, she looked toward @[member="Darc Xavior Talus"]. She seemed to be waiting for another opportunity to strike.
