Campaign Sympathy from the Devil: Campaign to Bryn'adul-held Ankhypt (Kegan, Kubindi, Lowick, Blank Hex, Ankhypt)

Location: The Killing Fields | Objective: Study and Kill the Bryn'adûl | Lightsaber: X | Armor: X | Tags: Kelmor Kelmor
The shining pod of alusteel and duraplast jettisoned from his starship had broke through the atmosphere with a shake and a shudder and collided harshly with the scorching sands of this barren world, roughly within the landing zone that had been designated for the Sith forces. Roving waves of impact jolted through his body as he shunted the door off of the capsule, sending it flying into the air and crashing down with a distant thud. The red paint had remained glued to his skin, the pain searing. His nerves still screaming at him to stop - stop - stop. He could not and would not. Not against these monstrous combatants. Not on this day.

There was a tremor underneath him as his gloved hands gripped the rounded edges of the burning metal to pull himself up - the hotness more than present through the cloth. It was an earthquake of thumps and thuds thundering on either side of him, moving to collide like a tidal wave on a beach. Far away roars and shouts and orders echoing in the air and bouncing off the interior of his capsule. It was a beautiful sound to the Devil. An overture to the orchestra's main production ladened with bloodshed. Against the Bryn'adûl, that was all he would and could care about. The rending of flesh and the spilling of crimson plasma. But how large was the force that he was to fight alongside and fight against? How much rending and spilling would he have to do to feel...any level of accomplishment towards his unreachable goal?

The Devil only thought on this for a mere half-second, his attention quickly brought to the sensation he felt as he adjusted his "eyes" to the light overhead. He stopped his climb, reminiscing. The thunderous steps. The visible heat waves. It reminded him of the deserts back home when he yet served his lord father in some fashion. The sun beating down on him like an oppressor, cracking his skin as sweat dripped from his brow like waterfalls, slowing his movements as he fought against those who resisted his reign as Warrior-King. It was a war that nearly killed him as his army ran through their rations in a week of the battle and many began to turn against him in mutinous aggression. Would it be the same here? How many bodies was he to bury this day to prove a point? To prove himself to himself? To atone for his failures?

The Devil had just barely climbed up into the flames when he received his answer in the form of the horde of risen Anubians and Cathar streaking past him, an abomination's shadow roaring towards the growing maw of the Bryn'adûl legions. Among this shadow, Sith and Imperials alike charged as well, moving as one machine following its orders. Even a Leviathan of all things made an appearance this day, conjured by Arctus Silmar Arctus Silmar to serve like a great mythical wyrm seeking out its nemeses of knights and hardened warriors. And there were thousands of them. Tens of thousands of them. All seeking the same goal of domination and death of the enemy under a burning sun that knew only unending heat.

Just like home.

He chuckled at his turn of fortune - a clattering noise of golden teeth - and ignited his weapon, sauntering as the allied forces continued to rush past him, the fight now commencing in the vast distance kilometers away. It would be a run - no, a sprint of countless bodies and rivers of blood as he would seek out the largest and the strongest to test his mettle. His speed began to quicken, the muscles of his thighs and shins working hard to get him to the frontlines.

A mantra of his people began to play in his head without a conscious desire to hear it as his speed continued to increased. It was one he had heard his father say many times before battle when he was still an adolescent holding an antique sword.

"Here here we are at the very threshold of life and death. We march forth to meet our final hours to live life anew beyond. Prepare, for today, as with all days past, we face a thousand deaths."

The Devil was not prepared to die this day, but he was prepared to meet it head to head. And he would do so when he soon crashed into the front lines, finding himself alongside the undead and the living. And as he would fight, he would think back to his home, to the Skator Hai warriors that he had converted. He would think back to the necropolis he called home, to the incense burners of the holy half-deads roaming the temple halls blessing the warriors for the battles to come and preparing themselves for their own martial participation. He would think of cutting down that army in the desert, barely finding victory, and coming out stronger than ever.

He would think of this and compare it to this battle, watching the Bryn'adûl fight like that army in the desert. No restraint. No regret. Pure domination of the field in the face of an undying, unyielding enemy. And he would meet one of them - as he had in that desert all those years ago - one that would make him say audibly to the titanic being before him:
"Here you are at the very threshold of life and death. Prepare, for today, as with all days past, you face a thousand deaths."

Leading a unit of Highly skilled Troopers a large and armored Kaleesh wielding his double-bladed lightsaber was charging in front of his force preparing himself to slayin anything who may come accros him as his troopers cover him with a wave of blaster-bolts and rockets toward the monsters defending this structure. The Knight was actively looking for a Monster more ugly and bigger or eventually more well equiped than the rest so he could recognize him as one of the leaders and go directly to engage him, if you kill the commander his troops will soon follow and this was Ra's plan, if they want to win this battle they need to take down the big monsters so the smallers will follow as a chain.

Objective: Begin the Assault

When the legions of Draelvasier surged forth from their fortress with Tathra Khaeus at their head, the undead swarm surged forth to meet them. The initial clash was chaotic. Like an unholy tidal wave, scores of less armored undead leapt towards the enemy relentlessly, tearing apart the unprepared and unlucky while practically climbing over each other to shred their enemies to pieces. The more disciplined and well equipped of their vast numbers held back at first, letting the more mindless invoke terror and fear amongst their opponent while unleashing organized volleys of blasterstaff fire at their lines from behind the safety of their ornate tower shields.

Sekhari and her saberstaff armed cohort of royal guardsmen let the dead soften up the frontline for a moment, before eventually charging forth, clashing blades with the Bryn'adul. Sekhari disignited her weapon, slipping it onto her belt before beginning to levitate above her troops. She formed a barrier of force magicks around herself, and began to unleash powerful torrents of green force lightning at the enemy line, a display of her great and terrible power to drive fear into the heart of the Bryn'adul. She wanted Tathra to bare witness to the fate of those would defile Anubian soil and history with such blatant disregard for it's sanctity.

The ancient risen kings then led their own cohorts of tomb guardsmen forth into the fray, targetting weaknesses in the Bryn'adul lines and pushing forth to pierce them with organized spearhead formations, while the catapults switched ammunition, ceasing their usage of poisonous gas and instead using incindiary globules, launching them towards Bryn'adul formations as they emerged from the superstructure to engage the undead.

The others weren’t really much help to the girl, and she didn’t even get answers. She growled loudly, and next time she would answer them that way if they wanted answers. Not in vain didn’t she like to be in social company or just talk to someone. And she downright didn’t like it being essentially aired. And the enemy had already stormed them.

”I go and look for a suitable, worthy opponent for myself!”

She said angrily, then threw herself among the soldiers attacking them. She began to slash them with both her swords, feeling the armour rupture in the wake of her attacks, the unmistakable sound of breaking and cutting the skin and bones raging like fighting music in her ears, along with her blood. If the blades were few, she also helped with all that with her physical strength.

She managed to get far enough away from the others in a few minutes, but when she looked where she had come from, she also saw the gigantic creature. But by now, the enemy was already there between her and her brothers, so she had no chance of getting back. By now the little girl was on the outer perimeter of the Super-construct, where there weren’t really many of her own, all the more so of enemies.

She saw mostly opponents, of whom she had already killed dozens by the time she got here. But now she looked for a better opponent with her eyes…

Sabaton – Rise of Evil

The enemy was here, as if infinity had arrived, the sand of the desert was not even visible from them. The woman got off the biker no longer needed it. With her eyes she was looking for the figure who had previously killed her officer and demon. The demon was replaceable and it didn’t hurt the woman to practice either, but the officer, the officer was the other issue. Ingrid took him to a war that wasn't hers where the soldier shouldn't have been there either. He was her man and died through the woman's fault.

The gigantic creatures of the opponent were stunning, the woman had never seen such creatures before. They were unlike anything he had ever seen in her life. Why had they heard almost nothing about this species before? Those who have been able to subjugate planets with something like this have long since everyone should have heard of them. She was glad for a moment that the Eternal Empire was at the opposite end of the Galaxy.

The next moment she cleared her mind, not letting it affect what she saw. The Overlord hadn't seen the figure yet, and she hadn't intervened in the fight either, she was just watching the enemy. She studied them, what their physique was, their movement, their fighting skills. Luckily, she was able to figure this out pretty quickly, since her life as an agent was depends on it.

But these were just average soldiers, she didn't expect such a prey…

Riding: 4x Gunboats

The Gunboats took off from the Super-Constructs western hangar bays, flying high over the defence perimeter; flying to the far right of the battlefield below. Galak and the other Juggernauts he had brought together sat staring at the floor, they could hear the soudns of combat in a muffled tone at this distance. But Galak needed to see it, his sense of guilt egged him on until he couldn't help it.

[No hostile air attack confirmed]

Came from the cockpit over the communication channel, with that Galak rose; ready to prepare for the fight ahead. They didn't know what they'd face on that pyramid or within it. But their initial scans showed an open platform at the top of the Pyramid like a spire surrounding the beam. That was where they'd plant the bombs, right at the point of concentration.

"Open the deployment hatch." He needed to see it, standing up and taking hold of a railing as the leftmost bay hatch opened, looking out at the battlefield below. His eyes couldn't be helped but drawn to the fighting below, Tathra and his brave charge were being swallowed whole by the undead force. So many of them, so many hundreds of thousands all vying to kill the Titan.

But he couldn't help but wonder where the Sith were in all this. Bar the ugly monster of course, he then turned his head away - trying to avoid feeling like he'd abandoned the Chieftain as he looked on to the pyramid.

The Gunboats that had left from the Western hangar flew true and hard towards their target. It was difficult to miss it given the massive beam that the pyramid was emitting from its capstone. Taking their place at the center of the formation, the four gunboats were gradually joined by others until they numbered twenty-five in total. Each set was from a different hangar bay, a different portion of the superstructure, a different band of Draelvasier who were doubtless fighting for the same goal: Survival.

Osam wondered briefly if there were any Risen within the other vessels, or whether the only members of his kin were those twenty-four stuffed within his dropship. Could it be that others had distinguished themselves enough to assist in the assault? It was not beyond the realm of possibility, though he questioned whether their assistance in the coming battle would be little more than a hindrance. Risen-Sraelvun were good at verticality, at cunning plans and devious actions, at impractical assaults -- but they could never match the Juggernauts in sheer presence, in their capacity for conflict, or their raw strength.

The voice of the Emissary reached out through the gunboat's communication systems, informing them that they had a mere twenty seconds until they'd arrived at their position. Osam found himself almost anxiously checking through his equipment, guaranteeing that his Zealot's Kukri had been touched with Barricas oil and was ready to face the plasma blades of the Sith, that his Carbine was fully loaded and its sight hadn't been knocked into a poor alignment. He even went through the process of ensuring that his newer Pulverizer was loaded and not leaking some of the gases that allowed it to function so excellently.

Whatever serenity might've existed within the confines of the gunboats vanished upon their arrival at the pyramid. The gunboats themselves were designed for such hostile landings, soaking firepower where lesser dropships might've collapsed from a mere volley, and bringing to bear their scorching flame. Each of the gunboats would open up on their immediate landing zone, searing flames projecting outwards from the vessels as they forcibly cleared a place for their cargo, and then, once they'd managed to spread open enough of a place, the inhabitants of each gunboat would depart. Twenty-five gunboats meant there were nearly seven-hundred and a half odd Juggernauts joining the fray.

The four Gunboats that had held the Risen and the Emissary himself, however, pressed on to a location closer to the pyramid's entrance. They formed a core strike-team, destined to enter into the pyramid itself and to face whatever unnatural horrors lay within while their comrades laid down life and limb to buy them time and as good of a perimeter as they might manage. The hybrid didn't bother to open up on the Anubians when he departed the gunboat, choosing instead to sprint as quickly as he could behind the others towards the interior of the pyramid... and salvation for their race.

Explosions, explosions inside the Super-Construct. But he couldn't understand why, yet he felt a sense of dread. the force worked in mysterious ways and it seemed as though now it was working against them. It seemed as though more undead had been summoned to attack them from within. Even as Tathra and his league of warriors charged against an impending horde to distract the enemy, they crept up from the depths of the construct. But, the deeper one went into the facility the heavier the security ones. Hundreds if areas locked down, doors deadlocked and the interior defences prepared. The Drael-hivemind worked to ensure the entire facility was alerted immediately, a signal sent out to all Draelvasier on the planet.

THE DEAD RISE WITHIN

Whilst indeed the physical security was short on hand, the Bryn'adûl Super-Construct was the size of a large continent, manufactured and heavily secured. It was designed to protect millions and indeed could contain them. The premature Drones within the breeding pits woke from their slumber, nearly seventy-two thousand Sraelvun, Baedurin and Aeravalin woke. They were not armed, but they had their flash-training and were ready to fight, ready to survive. Automated turrets opened fire on the enemy forces within, tearing the undead forms to shreds.

They had secured large portions of the undead with their security systems, but they couldn't control explosions or ruptured areas. There was only so long the facilities defences could hold them, only so long Verikast doors could hold them.

"Shamans of the Super-Construct, I command you to leave your current stations and prepare to make use of the Draeyde. Prepare, I will use the great serpent."

Chaos had erupted within the Super-Construct, but this was their home and the enemy dared to strike from within like cowards. They would learn that the Draelvasier would survive, no matter what. This was not the day of their fall. He didn't care what the Seers said, the Draelvasier would survive and they would win.

Hadad moved out from underneath of the Super-Construct, moving toward the surface.

Soon, the gigantic serpent would rise to the sands to fight alongside Tathra.

Stay strong Tathra. Hadad is coming.

SIX DAYS BEFORE DEPLOYMENT
"You aren't coming."

There was no hint of a suggestion or request in her voice as she spoke. Her words were final, a command.

"This will be dangerous, even for me. You're staying here, where I can trust that you won't get hurt." She added, her form shifting into the one she would eventually wear onto the desert world of Ankhypt in the war ahead of them. "This will be the last time I'm away. We'll stay together afterwards, forever."

She turned away, a silent Quinn Varanin Quinn Varanin behind her. "You don't have to be so glum. I'll find a way home."

WESTERN DUNES
APPROACHING THE WEST WALL
The sand licked around them like tendrils on the wind, catching against her skin and bearings like a trillion microscopic fingernails scraping up against her. The armor of the Yuuzhan Vong, living and breathing, nestled against her bare flesh, and wrapped around her right wrist like a bracelet lay an amphistaff that hungered for use. In her left hand, held tightly in her grip, was the hilt of her currently deactivated lightsaber, one which she anticipated would either see much use or none at all. "They're monstrous, I've heard." She heard the voice of a human not far from her, as they strode out from their landing craft before they ascended back into the skies to replace them with more arrivals, and scoffed.

There's a monster in all of us.

The thought never made it to her lips, however, as the beasts in the sand rose to fire and leverage their volley of destruction on the crafts the Sith rode in as they both descended and departed - living beasts of burden screeching out with unfathomably horrific screams as they were sent careening into the sand below, their blood soaking the sand along with that of their passengers. A single red eye glanced towards the wreckage of one such small living ship that had landed and been strewn across a dune nearest her - not quite so long after her cousin had given her his words of encouragement.

The force serves none but itself - I will free myself.

The thought moved through her mind as the feckless Sith became specks of blood that now soaked the sand around them and met their end, Sith that believed in a swirling, mysterious, force beyond that would listen to them - to mortals - and answer their prayers like some kind of personal god. Ironic, perhaps, to come from the purported leader of a faith devoted to the mystical Sith deity of Typhojem, but then she never had been a believer - in it, or the divinity of the force. Like the Anubian that called out for aid over their communication channels not long after their landing, as the assault from the Drael defense began, the Shi'ido would be her own savior, and in doing so the destroyer of these barbaric creatures with their obsessive lust for death - for if there was one thing she was certain of, it was that these creatures were not as she.

"Forwards, follow closely behind me, and don't bother saving anyone who gets separated - we aren't here to play hero, we aren't here to rescue anyone. Yun-Yammka desires their obliteration, and Yun-Ne'Shel has determined we will be the facilitator of their demise through the Great Devourer." She shouted, pushing forwards and breaking into a steady run towards the wall of the Bryn'adul superstructure at the heart of the planet's heaviest population center and tailed by the half-dozen Yuuzhan Vong Slayers that had accompanied her to the planet's surface. Many of them would die - perhaps Vesta herself - but the loss of numbers did not matter if it meant a gambit that ended with the expulsion of the Bryn'adul from their gained territory to the west, where the Sith would begin their focus on carving a path through the Jedi unimpeded. Their numbers were few, certainly fewer than an occupying force, but their focus was laser.

It was never about saving the galaxy - not for her, not for Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex .

No, it was about building the steps for the future of the Sith, and this would be the first of many towards renewed success.

-

Far above the sandy world flew the Great Devourer, Wo Derriphan, itself, flanked by the vessels of Yuuzhan Vong origin - shaped by the supposed avatar of Yun-Ne'Shel herself, before her expiration on Dubrillion. Their numbers were not great, and they were not plentiful, but their purpose was well understood and that was all that had mattered - the war would rage on the ground, a simple and bloody conflict, and the Great Devourer would find its purpose in the tail end of the conflict. For now the sitting fleet, as small as it was, would fend off would-be assailants.

They only needed time.

-

For a moment, the briefest of moments, the Shi'ido let her single red eye glance up towards the sky, towards the shadowy shape of the Wo Derriphan lingering above them in orbit, before returning her gaze towards the sand and enemies in the distance - they would clash soon enough, she was certain, a thought which brought a smile to the corner of her flesh-covered face, the other half of which was merely shifted to appear as the exposed bone beneath as a reminder to the Yuuzhan Vong that followed her what she represented.

ENEMIES: TSE | Engaging undead under Sekhari
EQUIPMENT: Armor | Axe | Bow
UNITS:

  • 5x Shaman Beast Masters (including & lead by Ostak)
  • 5x Ra'mak War Beasts (1 controlled by each Master) (Full strength) (Engaging Anubian catapults)
  • 5x Obaliscs (1 controlled by each Master) (Full strength) (Engaging undead infantry)
  • 3x Quilxyn Protectors (all controlled by Ostak) (Active) (1 on reserve, 2 covering the Obaliscs)
"Now, forwards!" ordered Ostak.
The Shamans joined the counteroffensive, pressing their Ra'maks and Obaliscs forwards. The former flew over the Juggernauts and various Sraelvun in the vanguard, rising up to join the larger formations rising above. The latter took the opposite approach - with their slow speed and cumbersome forms, they stuck behind the protective screen of Draelvasier and beast. The Protectors followed, with Ostak directing two of them on top of the Obalisc formations to provide even greater protection. The third Protector enveloped the Shamen, giving them a safe space to strategize.

"Through the eyes of the Ra'mak, I can see that the undead have anti-air defenses." called one of the Beast Masters. "They appear to be primitive catapults, but they fire powerful toxic gas that is a threat to our units on the ground and air."

"Do they have any other large ranged weapons?" asked Ostak.

"No, not as far as I am aware."

"Then have the Ra'maks prioritize the catapults."

"Understood."

The five beasts under the control of Ostak's unit dove, their mounted cannons firing at the catapults amidst the Anubian formation. Their prioritization was essential - as some of the only air defenses that the Shaman unit could find, their destruction would allow for the Ra'maks to bombard the undead infantry without opposition.

"Fire the Obaliscs into the center of their formation, go for maximizing fatalities rather than eliminating officers. This horde is growing every second, and we must not let it breach our line."

"Yes, sir." was the universal reply.

The Obalisc artillery beasts stepped outside their Protectors and fired their first salvo from their charged tentacles, sending large beams of voatile energy surging into the enemy horde. Hopefully, the superior strategy of the Draelvasier would prevail.

More minutes passed as the attack really started against the pyramid. And Ingrid saw quite a lot of these "bugs." She knew the saying that they were supposed to be worse than Yuuzhan Vong. Now she was sure of one thing: that some Nite agents should definitely be sent to the Bryn’adûl area to get information. After all, they knew disturbingly little about them.

However! However, she didn’t have to wait much longer because some strike units arrived right in front of the pyramid. And finally the Overlord saw the one she was looking for. The person she was looking for and waiting for got out of one of the strange vehicles. At last someday, they could also start the dance that the man owed her. She didn't really know if she could refer to him as a man, or just a male individual.

He and his other companions began to run toward the pyramid, which she did not want to let to him. She reached into the Force and then tried to grab Osam Osam with invisible “arms,” i.e. telekinetics. If she succeeded, she tried to lift him out of the crowd with concentration, and then, with a determined gesture, flew the man close to herself and put him down in the sand. She didn't know how surprising this might be for the monster, but she had already surprised others with this method.

”I hope you don’t think I’ll let you go after what you did.”

She said in an ice-cold, military voice. She didn't know if the man understood or not, but she didn't really care. If by chance he hadn't understood what the woman wanted, it would still be understandable, for Ingrid pulled both vibroswords out of their sword sheaths and took an offensive stance.

The warriors under Tathra's leadership charged bravely into the oncoming storm. She was thrown from her mount as the undead hit them like a wall of flesh, crashing down into the sands as the undead surrounded her and the other warriors. All around her like a black ocean swarming over their immediate vanguard, Kelda shot to her feet with Glaive and Kraker in each hand, firing independent bolts to clear her path as she carved through the undead scum with her Glaive.

The Ra'maks would fire with their tri-beams; glassing the surface as their combined beams combed through hundreds of undead in the open field, melting them into the ground as they fought unimpeded above focus firing on the ranks of anubians using blasterstaffs against the Juggernauts, a bolt slammed into her chest as one approached, bouncing off her armour, leaving an ugly scorch mark - luckily for Juggernauts, their armour laughed at blaster fire like it was nothing, their armour and skin both making the heat little more than a tickle, using their superior strength and military discipline to cut down the waves of undead as they poured against them. She struck down the charging blaster-staff weilder, crushing him under the sheer physical force of the Glaive.

The Siege Towers, each carrying two-hundred ballista's, typically used for naval warfare opened fire on the enemy forces, focusing fire on the undead cohorts that held back or encircled their own; obliterating hundreds in seconds in such a fearsome fashion comparable to orbital bombardment. She heard screams, Juggernauts being torn apart by endless swarms of the undead - Kelda rushed to the aid of her kin, dropping her Kraker as she took her Kukri into her hand, cutting and slashing with the Glaive - stabbing into the skull of an anubian with her Kukri as she threw the weakling creature into the sands.

Lightning struck out at their forces, knocking Kelda off of her feet; killing two Drones at her side almost instantly. That was when she heard it, the dead rise within. Her heart stopped.

Had they thrown away their lives for nothing? No - Galak would succeed, and they would survive this.

Objective: Help Tathra's charge from the atmosphere in any way possible.

From above, the green light emitted from the pyramid was clearly visible. As were the hordes of undead. He wouldn't have known they were undead if not for the transmission from below. If it was true, then this battle was going to be a defeat. It would take more forces than the Bryn could provide to beat the countless undead.

From the atmosphere, the hordes looked like ants. The blob didn't stop getting larger as more and more were spawned. Meanwhile, from the super-construct The Bryn had formed a significant force of their own. It appeared to be thousands of Bryn, moving toward the Sith army. It was a massive force of the Bryn'Adûl, but still the Sith outnumbered them ten to one.

Badar knew that Tathra Khaeus, his leader whom he respected so much he'd die for, was going to lead the charge to buy time for something. Badar didn't know what he was buying time for, but the Sith assault would surely halt and face the Bryn before attacking the super-construct. With that in mind, Badar felt it was necessary to move his ship toward the hordes and provide bombardment support for the Titan. The butcherer should do well, given the situation. It fires beams that must be charged up first. If the Sith army stays clustered together, one beam could kill hundreds if not thousands of them.

That being said, the Sith Armada could move in, and Badar would have no choice but to retreat if that were to happen. It was a risk that he was willing to take. The Bryn needed to work in unity. Sacrifices and risks would be vital to the battle.

Badar gave the command as the Butcherer slowly began it's advance.

The battle was now underway. Clashes sprung up here and there, but they mattered little to Dok. In his focused state, his eyes swept the battlefield for whatever foe would dare to approach them. Twisted mutated forms dotted the landscape around him, and with his senses turned inward to hide his presence, it sometimes took a moment to tell if it was friend or foe. Many of the creatures around him, including the one he now rode, were large and Powerful. Tough, but slow, even if some were smaller than their contemporaries. Dok twisted in his position, going prone on the lumbering leviathan to better steady his aim.

The scope trailed over the field in front of him, the occasional burst of blaster fire, usually two or three quick shots, finding a weak point and exploiting it in some hapless enemy distracted by a foe. Few of Dok's blows were lethal, but they weren't intended to be. Distractions, wounds, designed to metaphorically bleed it's target and give it's enemy(s) an edge in the fight against it. Dok found a few to be more easily felled than he had expected, perhaps already weakened or he'd accidently hit something vital. No matter, it let his allies move forward to a different target.

Dok sighted in on a sixth target after a quick check of his remaining charges, before he could pull the trigger the beast beneath him lurched. He knew that shaking, even if he had never seen a leviathan. Something smaller than it had latched onto one of it's sides. Much as if a Skeeris or a Banshee had latched onto the side of a vulnerable Gladipod. It only took Dok a moment to tell which side had been latched onto. Taking advantage of being cloaked both visually and in the force, Dok slid down the hind leg of the creature, and took sight in his scope of one of the Bryn lathed onto the side of the beast.

He squeezed the trigger twice, aiming for the arm of foe before him. His intent was to shake it free of the beast. Even as the second bolt was still sailing, Dok dropped to the ground, ascension cable launcher primed for use. The dust from the Leviathan's wake gave him some cover to blend into, but he must be still. Movement would give him away. His eyes trailed back to see the fruits or failure of his attempt to bring the Bryn to the ground, where Dok's mobility and agility would serve him better than on the back of a lumbering beast.

He was so close to being within the pyramid, within the confines of its walls. It wasn't safety per se, but it certainly beat meandering outside where the Juggernauts and their adversaries were busy with their climactic clash. He heard the sounds of battle, the brutish ravaging somewhere behind him as the battle was joined. The hybrid was set into a sprint, following close behind the strike-force as they prepared to enter into the confines of the pyramid to complete their vital task. He nearly didn't notice the feeling of something touching his sides - he was bound to bump and bash against his comrades in their sprint.

Of course, the sudden lack of momentum did draw his attention. His legs began to slow, and then finally stalled to a halt, but his motion continued nevertheless, carried sideways by an invisible grasp. He felt a bout of nausea flood his system as his body was brought to a destination against its whims, shifted through the air with rapidity. He let loose a sudden shriek of shock as he was brought away from his companions and the interior of the pyramid, and instead face-to-face with one of the invading darksiders.

Recognition dawned on him when he got a good look at her face - perhaps if he had faced her several battles ago, he might've forgotten her completely, but he knew for a fact that he had attempted to assassinate her during this very conflict. She spoke to him, but the words were unknown to him. Dialogue with the weaker races had never been something of much use to the Draelvasier, and he had never taken the opportunity to decipher their communications. Often enough, their plans were either directly made known through mere observation, or else were utterly unknowable. Hearing the words and banter between those two states solved little.

Doubtless, she intended to punish him for his earlier transgression. Her actions spoke to that effect, and even if they hadn't, the conflict would be all but inevitable. Survival against their foe dictated that they strike them with everything they had, that they used the enemies' weaknesses against them, and if she'd refused to strike him, he wouldn't have hesitated to deliver the first blow.

Within the rush to the pyramid, at least his immediate squad had noticed his sudden departure, and he could see them now approaching, intent on assisting their squad leader against the foe. Several other Risen continued onwards towards the pyramid's entrance, intent on assisting the Emissary in his suicidal task. Osam hoped that Galak would succeed in his task, but he recognized that he would receive no assistance from the Juggernauts. They needed to remain focused on the task to guarantee the survival of their race.

"Kill the ghoul" He shrieked to his peers, directing them towards the shadowy apparition accompanying the woman, and then, without missing a beat, he would raise his own carbine towards the Sith and release a burst of firepower towards her. He hoped that the vibroblades she was using would be incapable of deflecting the heavy ammunition because even lightsabers struggled with them, but he had a sinking sense that the battle would be far more difficult than that.

A murmur began to go through the crowd as the legend himself, Tathra appeared. Thogfer looked at the large crustacean. Such power. Such devotion. They nodded as he spoke. His message reaching and touching them.

They roared in unison as Tathra led the charge. Thogfer hefted his large caliber weapon and sluggishly charged past the wall and towards the Sith's pets. The forces collided with each other. Thogfer grinned and roared as he blasted creature after creature. He briefly looked up to watch gunboats fly past them. He pumped a fist in the air for a slight moment, then returned to the carnage that ensued on the ground. Hundreds had already died. They would kill every last one.

Their forces clashed, the Skag he rode upon speared by dozens of blaster staffs as the undead clawed and tore apart the Skag as it trampled over dozens of them. Tathra leapt from its hide as it was torn about, swinging mid air with his Axe and unleashing a powerful wave of red energy, obliterating a large grouping of them, rolling to a halt among the undead.

"Khaeus!" A Juggernaut called out, a pack leader fending off the undead as they swarmed around them.

His kin were fighting for their lives - for survival. He would fight with them, with his Axe extended in his left hand; the weapon glowed with a powerful vapour that melted any who drew near, strong enough to cut through even phrik given enough force. Tathra took his sword from his back, charing toward his kin as he spun the Axe, the sheer momentum and power of his strikes crushing and splintering bone with both staff and beard - hacking and slashing threw dozens of them like they were nothing as he spotted what appeared to be a regal King not unlike the one he had slain when he took Ankhypt.

Overhead Ra'maks fired down on the enemy forces, mindless and tactless - culled from existence into melted slag. Though, one of the Ra'maks dived too low, and was almost immediately covered in undead, the War Beast screamed as it was shot at by its own kind, ending its suffering and tearing it apart so that they could not use it for their own.

"Keep the War Beasts away!"

Tathra threw his sword into the chariot, breaking its wheel as it tumbled over - the King thrown from his steed and to the ground as green lightning arced across the sky, crashing into the ground as the Juggernauts stopped any who tried to get in his way.

"Fight! For the Chieftain! For Draemidus!" The pack leader called, rallying them against the horde.

Tathra darted toward the King who rose, blasterstaff in hand to fight; firing at Tathra, the bolts crackling harmlessly off of his chest as he dashed close - ducking under the Kings swing of its staff. Tathra slid under, slicing its waist with his Axe as he dashed behind it, thrusting his right fist through its chest with a single powerful strike. Bones were easy.

The King rose, dangling lifelessly from Tathra's arm, his entire upper torso cracked open as Tathra flung him backward, shattering into the sand.

"MAGGOTS." With a thought, he recalled the sword to his hand; knocking down the undead as they followed him from the destroyed chariot.

Up above, his new target made herself obvious. Tathra turned on his heel, slashing with a quick and non-committal strike at the undead running for his back, cutting down another two with his sword mid-flourish.

"Towers, target the Sorcerer!" The Titan barked as he knocked down a living anubian with his shoulder, stomping it to death with his boot.

The Siege Towers directed a single ballista each at the Anubian priestess floating in the air, firing two massive metal rounds right at her shielded ball. If that didn't knock her out of the sky, they'd increase the concentrated fire. On the other side of the battlefield, the Gunboats had arrived to the base of the pyramid. Good. What troubled him was the message from the Primarch, the undead were already inside. It stopped him in the middle of the battle - they could maybe defeat the horde, but to be attacked from within as well?

This was truly a battle for survival.

They landed right on top of the enemy defenders waiting outside, the plasma-throwers coating the entire landing area of hundreds of metres in molten plasma, charring the ground and burning the Anubians beneath alive. From within the confines of the Gunboats deployed as their distraction, some seven hundred Juggernauts rushed out to fight the living anubian force. Mostly
minors, but they were joined by Grenadiers and Heavies as well. Alongside the infantry came maybe twenty Quilxyn, providing additional personal shielding for each Juggernaut.

Alongside Galak and his force of some eighty-odd juggernaut
majors were two Ravagers at their side as they pushed for the main entrance into the Pyramid. It was then that Osam was yanked away by the force, tumbling to the feet of a Sith.

"Osam!" His first instinct was to turn and rescue his friend. But he knew something far more vital was at stake. Their survival, every moment he wasted was another Tathra and the others could be killed.

The other Risen-Srael looked to Galak, with a nod he let them run to their leader. Galak and the others would continue into the pyramid, hefting the Brumak Charges with them.

There was always a choice when it came to battle. A choice as to where to go. While it was true that the battle field was dead ahead and Gorrge could og just as easily followed the crowds of frenzied Sraelvun to what he was sure was a quick impending doom. Gorrge did the opposite. Apon reaching his destination the Sraelvun paused and looked around. Hordes of his own rushing past him, shoving and bumping into him. They were driven by one thing and it was survival.

Gorrge was no different and now out in the open air he knew his only chance to survive was taking a path less traveled. Far less. Both his eyes fell on the sight of gunboats. With haste his body was directed toward them and soon his form was with the many others ready to begin a direct assault into enemy territory. A strange sensation gripped him as he watched his own kind fight tooth and nail against these strange invaders. Flesh rotted, bodies contorted and lacking blood. The words to accurately describe them were null and void from his vocabulary.

He did not know how to say it. These dead-ish ones. They were merely fodder used as well. This enemy was the first to display a similar caste system that Gorrge knew of and it made him feel numb inside. A host of questions arose within him and there was a desire, No, a need to understand who these invaders were and what they wanted. What did they value most? What could he use to make them know his ways? Before the Gunboat even landed the battle had begun.

Gorrge's body dropped early from the ship into the field. He was one of the first on scene and without hesitation his blades found their mark into the bodies of these dead-ish beings nearby. Two twin kukari blades, old in appearence and seemly never to leave the Sraelvuns side. They were the only weapons he had on him besides his own two hands. Their sound against rotten flesh was strange, even stranger was the ringing and buzzing sensation that struck what felt like his brain. Physically the sensation was non-existent and yet within it rapidly grew as he charged against a new foe. A lesser being armed with technology he had never seen before. How could it bare to stand with such small muscles? Gorrge did not understand this new creatures biology, but if it could bleed then it could be killed. Swiftly turning his head after hearing a shout from Osam Osam , He began to charge and heaved back his left Kukari back past his hip. Orange iris fell on the "ghoul" that the Sraelvun mentioned to attack. A spirit of smoke and fumes. And though this was not the primary target Gorrge was no fool. Straight ahead was the enemy, the woman, the female and source of a up coming headache.
It was the buzzing. Lightning and energy hummed closer than he knew and he could feel it, but not explain why.

" GOO! Wee Cau-ght up!" Broken basic sounded aloud like a bellow toward Galak Galak as he continued forward. Gorrge would assist this Osam and then continue the objective.

Kukari anchored back and with a roar it was thrown through the air with the simple realese at the waist. A side throw. Its large blade and very structure screaming through the air like the wings of a terrifying war beast in flight. With any skill the large piece of metal would make contact with both smoking ghoul and the woman lined up not too far behind it.

Sylok's claws dug further into the purple flesh of the Leviathan. A liquid ooze spilling momentarily outward from his grasp. Even so, the beast strode onward, unaffected by the Aeravalin's attempt to force it away from the Ik'straktors below. He should have known it would take greater effort to decimate such a foe. It was spawned from raw threads of the force, the scarlet red traces of dark energy still present as his skin pressed against it. It would be naive to think something so minuscule could manipulate the beast. Sylok knew that, he knew it to the full extent of the truth and yet, the claws dug deeper. The clear discharge from the monster lathering his hand, the smell a pungent reminder of sulfur. To Sylok's surprise, the skin of the creature was hard and the more he dug splinters of dried skin began to crack. The menacing tool of the Sith cared not for his presence and remained ever vigilant toward its goal. The siphoning sound of blister traps snapped through the threads of living force. Each life more absorbed than the last.

Sylok needed to get to its back, hanging off the front leg of a beast wasn't doing his men below any favors, it needed to be stopped. Retracting his left arm from the side of the beast, he reached for a higher spot on its hide, but in a blinding motion of unease a bolt of pure energy tagged the side of the Leviathan. Sylok's eyes widened, he was caught off guard and as his hand faltered his body was swung sideways. Another bolt of death screamed toward him as it found its mark ricocheting off his Verikast armor. His right shoulder stinging from the blow as his one handed grip tightened from the pain. The wind pulled at Sylok as his back slammed into the front of the beast. Twisted and strained, his right arm tensed and a sharp pain slipped into his reality, his grip released. In a rag-doll form of rapid confusion, Sylok began his descent. The melody of his heart raced as he looked for a solution. He was Aeravalin, all he had were answers. It would be him to rise among the Ashaka, prove there were other ways than a tireless conquest of death and despair, but Ankhypt, Ankhypt was a necessary conquest. It was jewel among gems in the Bryn's empire. It would remain and they too would survive with it.

The rapid plunder of wind made his heart sink, a flurry of odd screams following as his world was torn asunder. A cloud of dread filled the empty spaces between him. Howls of the dead invaded his mind, his senses in the force completely muddled by the effects of each victim slipping into the blister traps of the abomination he fell from. It was new to him, an invasion on his mind, normally such things were useless, but this; this was different. The souls lost were trapped and the living force demanded an equal cost, he could feel the tremble of its want. The threads of fate spinning into a knotted ball of delicate yarn. Sylok was needle it needed, no; the needle it wanted. The screams lurched forward into his mind, the images of the dead striking at the heart of his gift, making it difficult to concentrate. They refused to return from the depths from which they came and as another blister trap activated, the voices grew louder.

Pearls of white scanned, trying to focus on what lied ahead of him. An army of charging undead a mere sixty feet beneath him was all that presented itself. It wouldn't matter, if the impact didn't kill him, they would. Then, like a gate of clarity, Sylok felt the tremors of the force once more. Thick threads of power coalesced into a fume of orange nature. A large figure cut through the air just underneath him, a three meter Wyrtgaon catching him as it glided across the sunny skies of Ankhypt. The screams of terror faded, the death of those loosely falling prey to the blister traps had ceased, for now.

This was his moment, no longer would he take his chances on the side of the Leviathan. Sylok tapped the side of the Wyrtgaon, and grabbed onto its spiny extrusion, he tugged hard and the beast obeyed as it lifted higher in the heavy winds of the planet. It rose above the Sith's creation, the nasty flyer snapping at the air as it hung for only a second before stretching out its vast wingspan and dived. The turbulence caught the Weaver by surprise, the sting from the drifting sands stabbed at his face and then he leaped. Sylok soared through the air before landing on the back of the purple mutated annoyance. His eyes meet with Arctus Silmar Arctus Silmar his gaping maw widened, a slender tongue stretched outward as he shrieked. The tip of his tongue shifted up and down as it rattled, revealing a split end. The force choose him, it always had. The cruel reality sank in, Sylok observed the man or what was left of one. It was easy to sense the corruption in him, the dark energies warping what the man used to be. It was him that brought this creation into the fray, nothing more.

A sense of worry reached Sylok, taking in every detail from the Sith Lord that he could. One item stood out the most. A glimmering crown, gems cut perfectly into its face. Whatever throne he thought he belonged to, Sylok wouldn't recognize. There was only one king, one maker, one chieftain, Tathra Khaeus Tathra Khaeus . The anger grew in him as he stared at it, a false king stood before him. The hate that festered began to fuel the knotted thread, a vast ocean of power solidifying into a hardened resolve. Then, it hit him, just like it had before. The itch that continued to make him uneasy, the very thing that forced him to fall did not reside on this new challenger's person.

No Gun?

Sylok smiled, the person that made him almost fall to his death lingered among them. Hiding in wait. Sylok yelled it, the fury of a true Draelvasier making it known to his real challenger.

"COWARD!!!!!!!"
