Dominion Shadow Empire: Vulgar Vagaari | EE Dominion of Vagar Praxut

mZhLRGS.png

Alli Vern was here today in a humbling position. The camps she had set up were overflowing. They were here to help take care of the former slaves of the Shadow Empire. Food and support were given to all that needed it. As she spoke more prefab structures were being put in place to handle the influx from the surrounding areas. She was at the HQ of the entire operations. Making sure that everyone got what they need but it was a mess. She had droids and people zooming all over the place and the Corporate Defense force providing security to ensure no mishaps happened.

There were people everywhere as they got ran in from all the various rescue operations and the like. It seemed the Empire was in full force today. The staggering amount of people affected by this was what got to Alli though. That the Shadow Empire could do this. It made her want to get violent. Which was rare. She took a deep breath and spoke into her comm. " Tranquility Tranquility , please proceed with Operation Purge the Slavers." She felt better after letting her A.I do what she did best.

Corin's voice was all the confirmation she needed. Her mission came first, and the Empress needed to be protected. Her feet shifted towards the direction that Corin had given her, and began to move. To her annoyance, she had to power down her saber to prevent it from accidentally trimming the limbs off her fellow soldiers.
Moving forward, she reached out with the force, feeling out for the familiar life force of Corin; it was rather easy pinning her out in the rest of the unknown masses after all. It did reveal something else to her however, some of the passages within this area were concealed. In most cases, this would have been an advantage for ones enemy, but for Lil, it was merely an opportunity to flex her muscles. She came to a halt short of Corin's position, and pressed herself against a seemingly solid wall. She faintly smiled under her mask, her form becoming intangible, as she stepped through the wall, and right in behind a group of four Shadow Ultras, seemingly ready to strike from their hidden position. Several swipes from her golden blade saw the end to that little ploy, the sensation of their fear addled minds pleased Lil as she struck them down, and it wasn't until their bodies hit the floor that she realized what she had just done. She took a step back, the sounds of the battle playing into her helmet, her senses having grown past where she had intended to focus, and she began to feel the desire to harm, the rage of the combatants, and the terror that emanated from the minds of dying men and women.
She paused, her saber snapping off, as she tried to focus on herself, pulling herself away from the havoc before she lost herself to it again.
It worked, this time. Though she didn't feel comfortable touching the force for the time being. Least until the mayhem died down.
A tad shaken, she tried to focus on Corin, link up with the Ultranauts, and proceed from there. She had a mission, and that was what would keep her out of her own head. She moved towards the passage that the Shadows had seemed intent on utilizing, and using her suit's augmented strength, she broke it down with a three quickly placed punches. The wall caved, coating her in a layer of dust, though that didn't matter. What did matter, was that Corin was near by. She stowed her saber as she moved, unsheathing the blaster that she kept on her person.
Moving towards the Ultranauts squad, the sight of Lil's blaster would no doubt raise an eyebrow; the Warden had never used the weapon outside of target practice. Corin was right though, it was hard to miss them. Seeing the woman in cover, Lil moved up behind her, blaster still in hand, and eyes looking for something to try and shoot at. "The Shadows are pocketed all around the area, could be difficult to pin them down."
She had no idea if her tactical advice was helpful or not, but it was the best she felt she could doing given she had just tossed out half of her toolkit five minutes ago. Though, unknown to her, she was holding her blaster entirely wrong. Something she might have realized if she actually knew what she was doing.

Tranquility had heard the order and was only to happy to oblige. However she felt it would be unkind not to alert the blackwatch fellows she was here seeing how they are on the same side. She sent a signal to denote she was here without breaking comm silence. Her droid body was currently cloaked and make its way into the place. It was time to kill the horrible people in charge. After all even her creator had given the order. These officials must of really done something wrong to earn a black mark from her. Normally this sort of thing was left to her entirely. For the issue to be officially greenlighted must mean these were bad organics. She would have to oblige them. Thankfully her stealth field did the heavy lifting. She only had to take care of a few problem areas. So far she had been able to stroll into the place.

Ivixa came up behind the Chameleon just as the woman slumped down to her knees, her golden eyes immediately widening in concern as she placed a gentle hand on the small of her back, looking to see if her partner was injured.

“Chameleon! Are you okay?”

Then, the Asa’nyx glanced over at the bodies of the four guards, noticing that they hadn’t died in any conventional manner, but rather, through the arcane arts of the Force. Of course, she had known that the Chameleon was capable of wielding the Force, but Ivixa couldn’t help but to swallow in apprehension at the realization that the Agent had killed the four guards with naught but a thought, even if the effort had demanded some level of strain.

“Hold here. We’ll wait for a bit. There’s still a minute or so left before the meeting is slated to start.” Ivixa said, breathing deeply as she spoke. “Our target is locked in here with us, now.” She added.

However, the two assassins wouldn’t have to wait long, as the arrival of another ally in the palace came only moments later. With her large, sensitive ears, Ivixa had been able to pick up its approach by sound, albeit only when it was a few meters away from her position. Nevertheless, the sniper immediately had her rifle pointed in its relative direction, ever wary of the potential threat, especially since she couldn’t see it with her own eyes.

“Approaching droid, identify yourself.” The Asa’nyx said, her voice maintaining its characteristic high soprano register, even as she shifted her tone in an attempt to make herself sound more intimidating.

“Now!”

A veritable flurry of missiles, proton rockets, and heavy space bombs were loosed from the missile boats of Titan, Panther, and Supernova Squadrons, connecting with their targets with devastatingly explosive results and eliciting a sensation of awe from the Togruta pilot. By now, the harassing Vagaari fighter groups had been mostly thinned out, but they yet still lingered towards the edges of the missile boat formations. As such, Bella moved to engage them, now seizing the initiative in order to protect her charges.

“Sapphires, maneuver into attack formations and finish off the remaining bandits!” The Torgruta directed. “When the corvettes and frigates are finished, we’ll be moving to join the rest in disabling the slaver vessels.” Bella added.

Pulling her TIE into a tight chandelle, Bella briefly set power to engines and accelerated towards a pair of Vagaari fighters, holding course to keep both of the bandits on the same side relative to her position in space. All the while, the Togruta drove her machine in a series of tight, winding turns, switching power to weapons before finally getting behind one and squeezing the triggers to unleash a salvo of ionized bolts from the cannons below her cockpit. While only two connected, they nevertheless left the bandit sailing helplessly through space, the pilot struggling to re-power his machine owing to the ionized energy surging through the craft’s circuits. That bought Bella more than enough time to focus on his wing man, luring the enemy craft into a turning battle before finally drawing a bead and destroying the fighter under a burst of precise laser fire.

By the time she finished off the disabled fighter, the missile boats of Titan, Panther, and Supernova Squadrons had largely achieved their objectives in destroying the escort vessels. While their losses had been relatively light, Bella felt each one in her heart, the weight of responsibility a burden she had never felt to this extent before now. Nevertheless, the Togruta closed her eyes, giving a deep sigh to reset her focus on finishing the mission.

“Good work, Sapphires.” She said softly. “Let’s put these slavers to rest. Set course for the slave ships!”

Waiting for Lilanna was like waiting for the grass to grow. Pointless. With growing impatience, Corin signaled for three members of her fireteam to cross the street and join up with the rest of her section as they fought their way inside what was believed to be one of the compound's biggest armories. The sounds of blasterfire and distant explosions had the Ultranaut on edge. She wanted to be getting into the thick of it with the rest of her platoons. Instead she was stuck waiting which, to be fair, she said she would.

The Ultranaut holding security behind her made a sound, the sudden sound of his armor shifting enough to warn her that something was happening. She resisted the temptation to look and see what it was. Unless he asked otherwise, she would remain watching the street for signs of hostile movement. "Friendly coming in." A muted voice declared over her fireteam's private channels. "About time." Corin said, shuffling back a foot as Lilanna came up behind her. It had been a while since she had seen the Apprentice last. In a social setting, anyway. Chancing a glance over her shoulder, the Ultranaut inclined her head at Lil, the news she brought with her nothing new.

"We know." Corin replied, tapping a finger against her ear. Similar reports were trickling in as the platoons ran into resistance or made discoveries worth mentioning. Looking the Apprentice up and down, Corin's attention caught on Lil's blaster, and the way she was holding it. "You okay, Lil? Your safety's on." And your grip's all wrong, the Ultranaut thought about saying, before squashing the urge. It could wait. Seizing the armory couldn't. Waving the man holding security across to the building in question, Corin waited until he was in position before crossing herself.

She grabbed Lil's shoulder as she went, guiding the smaller woman across the street and into the building where the rest of her fireteam waited. Two dead Shadow Imperials lay on the floor, already checked. The sounds of battle came from further within, near enough to hear the crackle and whir of bolts striking walls. The smell was there, too. The heat and blood familiar scents easily recognized. Motioning with her hand, the fireteam departed the antechamber. Nearby, one of the Valdr Skær-Pattern droids sat, poised and ever watchful. It's muzzle was red and wet with recently spilled blood.

It was the only witness to what followed.

Reaching out, Corin took hold of Lil's hands, wordlessly manipulating the Apprentice's fingers until she was satisfied the woman had a proper grip on the weapon. "There. That's better." Letting go, Corin took up her own weapon, the comforting weight no longer held solely by the sling that kept it close to her body. "I'm not going to ask where you received your weapons training. Clearly your instructor has much to be ashamed of." Gesturing for Lil to follow, Corin set off after her men, the Wolf falling into step beside her as they went.

"We'll address the issues later. For now, stay close, and try not to sweep any of my guys. I won't take it well if you accidentally shoot one of them."

"Yes, I'm fine, I just need a minute or two." she gasped, as if she had just run a full-length race in full military equipment.

And of course her head hurts a little, but it will go away. She knew L'lerim would have been able to do this much more easily, but the Empress almost never used that ability. She didn't find it artistic enough. Kessia... she just didn't care about artistic solutions.

She reached out to the Force to reduce her pain, just as the pain was deadened she had been able to soothe her breathing as well. This also slowed down her heartbeat and lowered her blood pressure. Her nosebleeds also stopped. All of her muscles were still trembling, as if she was overworked, but she was feeling much better.

"We can go soon!" she promised.

Droid? She raised her head and began to listening. Kessia changed her auditory organ to make it even better, "sharper", so she could hear where the droid came from. The assassin hadn't seen the message before, so the droid's appearance was quite unexpected. Since Ivixa had already ordered the droid, Chameleon said nothing, instead she just lifted the two pistols onto the droid.

She hasn't fired yet, but if the machine reacts hostilely, she'll do it.

Tranquility had to say that organics were great at not checking their messages. "Don't shoot, I am with the Zweihander Union's Corporate Defense Force. Name is Tranquility, If you fire, it will be reported to the appropriate authorities and I will push the for the maximum punishment under EE and ZU law. " The droid would decloak and stare at the two before her. "I am here to help purge this planet of leadership per Alli Vern's orders." The droid would make sure to not make any threating movements. Her weapons concealed even, This droid was useful for infiltration. At the very least these two would have to pay for loss of equipment and these things weren't cheap. She waited to see their response, activating every sort of way to read the people in front of her to try to guess what they might do next. If they got hostile she would need to defend herself.

Finding Corin was something of a relief, though that soon deflated as Corin revealed that the Wardens information as far from helpful. Still thrown off from her previous engagement, she blinked in surprise as she was inform her safety was still engaged, something the Warden quickly corrected, though her embarrassment was noticeable. She had been in a rush after all, but still, it was such a rookie mistake. "Ugh. Stupid thing..." She muttered, taking a moment to inspect the weapon.

She just wasn't in her element right now. Before she had time to explain herself, Corin had taken her and guided her across the street and into position with the rest of the woman's team. She was still in the midst of inspecting the Ultranaut squad, when she felt a hand taking hers. Eyes widen in shock, Lilanna's eyes fixated on Corin's hand, as the woman seemed focused on correcting her grip. She almost attempted to jerk her hand away, but before she could, Corin had already let go, commenting something about blaster handling. Regardless of her intent, she cybernetic woman was left flustered by the encounter.

Why was she making such a big deal out of this though? Corin was just trying to help her, and yet...it troubled her. She couldn't put a pin on why that was though.

The Ultranaut pressed on however, leaving a greatly embarrassed Lil to merely follow, fuming to herself, though she was able to respond as Corin gave a small warning. "I'm not that careless..." She muttered into her comm, keeping an eye out, though she found it a tad harder given she wasn't dialed into her force abilities.

One thing was certain though, her weapon didn't feel nearly as awkward.

"Let's make this easier, honey, give up and it'll end quickly, otherwise we'll kill you slowly and in the end, you'll be begging for death!" said the leader of the six-person Shadow Ultranaut group.

<"Do you really think you can assassinate the Eternal Empire's finest assassin?"> she asked in her usual cold and emotionless voice.

This was not the first time they wanted to kill her, and it was not the first time she had responded exactly the same way. The day Tacitus was announced missing and she became regent. Then the Eternal Truth tried the coup. They weren't lucky there either. Here now the woman could not use the Force, but it had no significance. She was able to solve this well, she was trained for this. The soldier was visibly disturbed by the response and signalled with his hand to his comrades to kill the woman. Ingrid waited for that move, too.

As the soldiers raised their arms the woman also swung. Two or three springy steps and she had already arrived among the soldiers. By this time the two daggers were already in her hands, the armour not bothering her. Ingrid knew the pros and cons of all the armour of the Eternal Empire. She knew where their weaknesses were. By her act, she surprised the soldiers, who might have thought the woman would run away, not that she would attack them.

The dance began.

As she arrived between them, she made two cuts to those who were not quick to avoid her. Two throat cuts; two thump. They didn't even have time to shout. Two of the other four shouted and trembled, trying to step back, but the other two tried to attack. She didn't have time for much, so she stepped a little further in the direction of the two who wanted to run away from her.

They really did, trying to turn away, and Ingrid threw the two daggers at the two attackers for no better choice. They both hit and stopped in the throats of the two soldiers. The last two were really running by now. And Ingrid after them. She did not take the daggers out of the dead soldiers' throats. The red-haired woman didn't like the coward soldiers. As she ran, she pulled out the two Soulsabers as she caught them, cutting off their heads; and she didn't care about them anymore.

And at the end of the corridor she found a staircase leading down, and from below she felt a great many people through the Force.

<"This is L'lerim! I found something in the basement inside the building. Who is able to do it, join me. Follow the corpses!">

"I know." Corin replied over their private link, her voice smooth and a bit patronizing. It wasn't meant to be. "Just keep them sweet, yeah? You'll have a better chance of making it through this unscathed with them on your side." That was true enough. Soldiers always fought hard where their brothers and sisters were concerned. Lilanna wasn't exactly one of them per se, but she was a sworn servant of the Empire they all served. Which was just as good, Corin figured.

Catching up to her section, the Captain nodded to the two soldiers protecting the rear as they lowered their weapons, raising them only once Cor, Lil and Banish -the wolf droid, affectionately named 'Banny' or 'Ban-Ban'- had passed them by. Coming to an intersection, the Ultranaut Captain led the trio left, passing a desk with a mesh partition keeping the room behind safe and secure. Corin caught a glimpse of weapon racks and rows of shelving with boxes on them just before the room was lost to sight. A cup of caffe sat on the desk, the beverage hastily abandoned recently if the steam rising from it was anything to go by. The Ultranaut wondered where the person it belonged to had gotten off to, before forgetting about it entirely.

The hallway she was following opened out into a wide storage area. As soon as she'd walked through the threshold, she was greeted by blasterfire. A half-dozen shots were fired in retaliation as Cor sought cover, the room's contents and layout coming into view for all of a heartbeat. In an instant her HUD began painting targets, picking out both friends and foes hiding amongst the stacked crates and racking. Then, they were gone, her world breaking down to the door they'd come through, and the crate she sheltered behind.

A shot whizzed by overhead. Looking around, Corin watched as one of her fireteam leader's slid into cover beside her, the man huge within his armor. Good thing he was on her side. "Sitrep," she said, and he nodded, signalling for his team to work while he talked. "Captain. We've got two fireteams in here with us, both active and very much hostile. 1-3 and 1-4 are taking the floor above us. They've met with a similar amount of resistance." The room shook as something loud happened upstairs. The faint cloud of dust that descended soon after suggested the use of grenades. Heavies are at it again, Corin mused, smiling to herself. Her smile faded as someone shouted out in pain nearby.

"Copy that. 1-1, get in here!" She called out over the channel. "1-2, provide covering fire." Seeking Lil, the Ultranaut Captain nodded to the Apprentice, hefting her rifle as she risked a glance around her cover. "Lil, Banny, get ready." The wolf droid growled, making the hairs at the back of Corin's neck stand a little straighter. She took a breath, two. "Okay. Okay. Corporal Adros?" A pause. "Sir?"

"Work."

"Working." Launching herself from cover the same time as Corporal Adros, Corin was quick to add her fire to 1-2's own as she pushed forwards into the room. Her HUD picked up a hostile to her front and she put him down, two quick shots striking center mass. Another popped out from the right as the first fell, and she nearly got hit herself as she turned to face him. A bolt screamed past her ear; deafening, her own shot hit the hostile squarely on his pauldron, knocking the man off balance. Three more shots saw him down and out. Tensing up, Corin barely felt it as something slammed hard into her leg, dumping her face-first to the ground.

Ivixa frowned, but a quick glance at her HUD told her of the signal the droid had sent out to mark its arrival and the Asa’nyx blinked, disappointed in herself at missing it. Lowering her rifle, Ivixa took a relieved breath and nodded to the advanced commando droid.

“My apologies.” Ivixa answered. “Just...wanted to be sure.” She added.

From there, Ivixa looked to see whether the Chameleon was recovered, anticipating that the Agent would need to be at full strength for the next stage of the operation.

“Okay so...we can move quickly and go directly to the room of the meeting…” Ivixa paused, pulling up a hologram of the palace’s layout on her OmniLink. “Or we can move to the security center and neutralize it, so we don’t have to worry about any cameras.” She continued. “Both are good options as we’re already close enough that security won’t have time to evacuate the Miskara and his officials from the room, if we’re caught on camera.”

“We could also split up, have two of us go for the meeting while one moves to take down security.”
She finished.

Bella’s attention was pulled in seemingly all directions, towards her sensors, projected firing arcs from friendly capital ships, communications, and other layers of important information, all of which needed to be accounted for. It went without saying that command was far more demanding than the duties she had earlier in her career as a pilot fresh out of accelerated training. Nevertheless, Bella had been entrusted with the responsibility by the Admiral herself, taking on the duties of a wing commander where she had only expected to be in command of her own squadron. She had balked under pressure before over Talay, facing a seemingly endless swarm of Confederate starfighters in the void, shattering her composure as she reckoned with her own mortality. However, in knowing that she was responsible not only for her own life, but for that of many others, Bella unexpectedly found poise, her mind consumed by the work of administering an entire wing of starfighters.

“All missile boat squadrons return to the Space Wolf for resupply.” Bella began. “I want full magazines in case the Vagaari have more pieces left to play.” She continued. “Fighter squadrons, form up on me! We’re on escort duty. The Space Wolf is launching assault shuttles and it's our responsibility to see them to their targets.” The Togruta finished

“Ready on me!” Bella called out.

The droid replied, well she wasn't so sure about the EE penalty, although who knows. After what L'lerim thought of the droids, it was easily conceivable that it would be destroyed if they do something. She nodded at Alli Vren's name; of course she was not unknown to her, Kessia knew exactly who it was. After that, she quickly checked the message that she had received from the droid.

She also just wanted to tell the options to the others what would be the best solution. And Ivixa said exactly the opportunity Chameleon wanted to say. The assassin nodded appreciatively at her words; she proved time and time again that it was good to employ her in Blackwatch and "release" her into the field. However, because the Force was more efficient than technology, she was the best at this task. And the most modest, of course.

"My invisibility is not detected by any sensor, they are not notice me in the vicinity, and I also hide my presence in the Force. So I will deal with the security room so that you can safely get to the meeting room. Then we'll meet there!" she said.

And with that, she didn't wait for an answer, but ran towards the stairs, then when she reached the first stair she reached into the Force and disappeared from the eyes and sensors of the droid and Ivixa.

Corin's words had their desired affect, as it kept the warden centered in the moment. She wasn't in her element truth be told. Fighting alongside soldiers wasn't her place, it was beside the empress, and fellow wardens. The blaster felt so awkward in her hands, but she didn't trust herself with a saber right now.
The craving was still there, and the chance she could devolve back into who she had been? No, that wasn't something she wanted to take a risk with. She followed behind the woman regardless, blaster still in hand, as they had clearly come into a recently occupied location given the items of interest. As it turned out, the enemy wasn't that far away as fire began to come directly at them. Ducking into cover, Lil wasn't entirely sure what to do next.
Before she would just trudge ahead, using the force and a lightsaber to protect herself, and begin tearing into the enemy. But now? What was she to do? She looked at the weapon in her head, hearing Corin shout orders into her comm, and feeling that she needed to do something. Being told to get ready, Lil braced, gripping the weapon tightly; slightly bending the grip of her blaster in the process. Moving from cover, she fired upon the Shadow soldiers before them. Lil, Corin, and the Corporal were firing for all their worth, but it seemed for every body that hit the ground, another would step in to fire upon them. A blaster shot struck her in the shoulder, another in the leg.
A warning slammed through her attempt to block out the force, her body tensing, eyes widening as time seemed to slow. She saw the air before Corin spark, blaster shots impacting the woman, as the Ultranaut began to fall forward, face down to the ground. The droid and Anros no longer registered in her mind, seeing as how the woman before her was now in the middle of falling in battle. Time seemed to remain in this slowed state for a long while, leaving the Warden with time to act; though not nearly as much as she thought. Raising her blaster, she squeezed down on the trigger. Firing a burst into the room, she swept it across the room, hoping to drive back the Shadows while she could pull Corin into something of a better position.
She hadn't a clue of what to do, and if Corin was dead, force forbid she would have to take command. With her enhanced strength, she seized Corin by the ankle, and pulled her into cover behind a half disintegrated crate. Several blaster shots struck her, Lil's armor smoldered, and pain finally began to register as the underarmor was now compromised. She fell backwards, stumbling into cover.
That sensation crawled at her gut, screaming at her to embrace the pain, to tap into it and tear the enemy asunder. She tried to focus on something else, anything else. Corin, yes, Corin. She fell onto her hands, her blaster having clattered to the ground as blaster fire continued to sail overhead. She reached for the Ultranaut, seeking to turn her onto her back and ensure she wasn't KIA.
Leading a damn field op was the last thing she needed right now.
It was then that she heard the voice of the empress puncture through the panic of combat, and with her duty now in danger of being compromised, she felt she had no choice.
She couldn't hold back the temptation anymore.

"It sounds like we have our answer, we make our way to the meeting." With that Tranquility would engage her stealth field again. "Don't worry, I will be right behind you. It seems you know the plan better than myself so feel free to lead on. No hard feelings for before." Organics were always interesting. The droid was light on its feet and ready to infiltrate the meeting. It was time to make light work the fiends that thought the business of trading organics was acceptable business decision. The idea that it didn't bother them, selling other organics was intriguing to her. Organics were always interesting. It was curious. It was however neither here or there. To kill the organics as one would. She followed her fellow spy through the complex building.

She waited a few seconds, finally it was a squad who checked in that they'll arrive in moments. That is, part of it; which in this case meant three soldiers. That, too, was more than nothing, and with so many people it was already possible to provide different areas. Ingrid went forward, never falling back during a fight, she was always on the side of her men when she was able to do so. However, the woman also fought injured, to the last drop of blood if she had to.

Arriving in the basement, a terrible stench greeted the Empress and the three soldiers. Although at least the soldiers felt nothing, as their helmets protected them from it. And she had smelled worse odour before, so she didn't grimace. There were prison cells everywhere; with tortured people, most have barely lived. Torture tables in several places, or operating tables; blood everywhere, the smell of urine and feces in the air, with the smell of fear and death.

Going further, there were clone tanks here, all empty, as were the bacta-tanks. Even further inside, dozens of men and women, mixed, are in a carbon freeze state. All the people here had one thing in common, each one was a slave. There was already a reason why this place was protected so much. Here they could have implanted the chip in the slaves or tried to break them. it was probably those here who did not break or were unfit.

<"My Lord, what are your orders?"> asked one of the Ultranauts.

<"Call as many people as you can, Captain. This whole place needs to be completely purged. We take out everyone who can still be saved and the dead slaves. After that, the whole place will be bombarded, we'll leave nothing from it!"> she said in an ice-cold voice.

“Understood.” Ivixa nodded to the Chameleon, relieved knowing that she would deal with the security center to hopefully neuter any coherent response to their intrusion. “Good luck, Chameleon.” The Asa’nyx said. “For the Empress.”

Then, nodding to the advanced commando droid, Ivixa moved into the stairwell, eyes scanning her surroundings for cameras as she took quiet steps in her advance to the fourth floor, where the meeting would be held.

“Fourth floor.” Ivixa said to the droid. ”Follow me.” She added.

Just then, a pair of guards entered the stairwell from the third floor entrance. Ivixa acted as soon as the doors slid shut behind them, firing a trio of shots from her rifle to strike the one on the left twice in the chest and once in the head, her slugs punching through armor and flesh to send the Vagaari sprawling to the floor, choking on a river of his own blood. With her armor’s integrated anti-sonic silencer, her shots reported only as muted hisses, allowing the two assassins to continue maintaining stealth.

Once the droid took care of the guard on the left, Ivixa moved up the last flight of stairs. Then, taking a security spike on her belt, she jammed it into the door’s access port and activated her cloaking device with naught but a thought.

Moments later, the door slid open and the diminutive assassin stalked into the hallway, followed closely behind by the advanced commando droid...

Corin hit the floor hard, sliding a few extra feet before coming to a full stop. Her leg ached, and a curse escaped her lips as she tried to push herself to her feet. She knew the longer she stayed out in the open like this, the more likely it was that someone would shoot her and so finish the job. Gritting her teeth, Corin made a second attempt. She'd nearly made it up onto her knees when something grabbed hold of her ankle and wrenched her to the side. Friend? Foe? She didn't quite know, but the fact they'd take the time to reach out and grab her suggested the first of those two options.

And if she was wrong, well, there would be little time to regret it.

Having been pulled into cover, Corin tried to roll onto her back. A hand touched her shoulder, speeding up the process. Firm yet strangely gentle, the Ultranaut knew who the hand belonged to before she saw Lil's face. From where Corin lay, the Apprentice looked a lot like the reaper of death. Her armor was smoldering in several places where she'd been hit, and from the look in her eyes, she wasn't too happy about it. Anger, hatred and -again, strangely enough- fear. The last one ruined the effect, but Corin didn't mind. The Sith was doing a splendid job for someone new to this. So what if the Captain had a biased opinion? Lil had just pulled her to safety. She deserved some appreciation.

Reaching up, the Ultranaut patted the Apprentice on her arm. The touch seemed to bring her out of the rage-induced daze Corin could see Lil was slipping into. "Thanks." She said, clambering to her feet, back to the crate. Shots still rang out from every direction, and a cursory glance revealed that most of the shooters were her own. "Push up!" She shouted, leaning out of cover. Her HUD picked up another Shadow, the armor's target acquisition making him an easy shot despite the circumstances. "1-2, take your team 'round them. 1-1, stick with me."

"Copy, wilco." Her second squad's leader replied, his soldiers filtering through the lanes of racking and the bolts that zipped dangerously between.

Easing out from cover, Corin pushed forwards, her leg aching but otherwise intact. Though she would likely be feeling it later, the armor had done it's job, and turned what would have been a crippling wound into a rather light one. "Lil! Back me up!" Corin yelled, not that she needed to. It was a mix of adrenaline and an age-old habit of having to shout over loud things to be heard. In truth, her squads heard her just fine. And they went to work with brutal efficiency.

Coming to a turn between crates, the Ultranaut took a knee. One of her Ultranauts sidled up beside her. Going low, the other man went high. Wheeling around their cover, the two let loose with their rifles. Corin saw one Shadow fall, her back a smoking ruin. Another was hit just above the ear from another angle. Above the din, someone was shouting for them to break contact. The opposition's leader, Corin figured. "They're trying to disengage. Don't let them." She told her fireteams, and they answered by pressing in, their KC-47's a constant roar that echoed through the storage room.

The Shadow Imperials, now getting the worst of the engagement, began to break and run. Those that did made for a hallway set into the wall directly ahead of Corin. A sign above the door read 'loading bay'. It might as well have said 'way out' to the Shadows. Those that ran found themselves gunned down. A few of the more disciplined ones fell back in proper order, laying down fire whilst their comrades bounded back. Corin was forced back into cover as a half-dozen bolts tore into the crate she was using for shelter.

"Lil. Banish. Bring them down." She called, unwilling to let the enemy get away.
