The Vagaari seemed to give their last gasp against the fighters of Sapphire Squadron and the remaining elements escorted the seven assault shuttles towards the designated targets, casting fire unto the void as they did. The Togruta starfighter ace flew with more aggression in engaging the remaining Vagaari, throwing her TIE into forceful breaks, rolls, and other demanding maneuvers in order to tangle up the enemy fighter squadrons in dogfights, thereby leaving them unable to act against the shuttles.

Pulling her fighter into a gentle turn as a Vagaari fighter very nearly got on her six, Bella lured the bandit into a turning battle, gradually increasing in intensity until the enemy pilot was fully committed, unable to retreat for lack of speed. Shunting power to engines at the expense of shield capacity, Bella’s howled its distinct, ancient roar as she got on the bandit’s six, squeezing the triggers on her sticks to deliver a salvo of laser cannon fire, striking her target’s fuselage and sending it into a fiery descent through the void.

Passing through the wake of her kill, the muscles in her core and legs tightened as she accelerated her machine ahead, quickly closing in on another bandit and casting a burst of fire from a relatively long range, striking the craft’s engines. Then, taking another glance at her sensors, Bella pulled her TIE into a chandelle transitioning into a climb, driving her machine up in order to intercept a bandit before they could move in on her wingman’s six. Her ion cannons flared to life, striking her target’s shields and sending the fighter into a spiral, giving Bella an easy shot to finish them off under a violent torrent of laser fire.

“We’ve reached our targets, Sapphire One. Thanks for the assist.” One of the shuttle pilots said over comms.

“My pleasure, Jackal One.” Bella answered. “All remaining elements,” She called out. “We’ll be home soon. Form up in patrol patterns around the shuttles while the rescue teams do their jobs.” The Torguta directed.

“Good work out there today.”

O B J E C T I V E I: SALVATION
To Lil's surprise, Corin's arm gripped her, notifying her that the soldier was still alive. She felt as if something grabbed her by the shoulder, pulling her back as she hovered over the edge of tapping into her rage. Corin was already moving to lead the charge, giving a brief thanks before moving forward, leaving Lil to recover from her injuries. The pain she had nearly tapped into now laced her body like a hot metal poker, several spots about her form burned, and she felt it difficult to move her legs. Was she crippled with fear? No, it wasn't fear.
Her hands trembled, her body felt heavy. It was hard to breath. She could hear her vital signs thumping in her HUD, the hiss of her oxygen deployed in her helmet, and she felt the sting of syringes prick her skin. She nearly fell to all fours, her body aching and feeling numb, as if she was about to rip herself apart from the inside out. She wasn't sure as to what she felt. The moment lasted only a few seconds, with the Warden slowly finding herself able to get to her feet, though feeling...off as she managed it.
Her body didn't feel like it was hers. She just felt...wrong.
She rose, her body moving unnaturally, almost autonomous. She felt as if she was moving against her will, her body moving without thinking, focused on the targets that laid ahead. Her body still pulsed in pain, yet she didn't feel slow, rather, just...honed. Her blaster was left behind, moving behind Corin and her squad as they continued to fire upon the Shadows, and when Corin told her to take them down, she would do so. Her companion leaned into cover, and was being pelted with fire from the Shadows, Lil on the other hand seemed unphased, her hand extended, a force barrier wrapping around her, absorbing the blasts and seemingly unflinching. Something was wrong though, as Corin would see traces of black spreading from the pupils of Lil's eyes. The Warden herself was confused, feeling as if her power was manifesting on it's own, re-actively acting in her stead, without her command being put forth.
Entering the loading bay, Lil stepped forward, the barrier that had protected her broke, and funneled into her; filling her with a sense of power she hadn't felt before. Rushing forward, her speed augmented her reflexes, as she dodged between blaster fire, and came to the nearest of the Shadows. She threw one punch into the center of the target, and be it through speed, the augmented strength, or some freak accident, felt the man's body shatter at the first blow. She moved to the next, a kick flying out at an exposed leg, and shattered the bone right in half, making the man drop to the floor screaming, right into a knee that fractured his helmet. Either the man was dead, or would soon be traumatized from the injury, it wasn't her concern. Taking the man's body, she turned, lifting him by the arm and shattered leg, and flung him to the nearest pack of shadows. Mid throw, she realized he had a grenade still on his belt, and with a quick hand gestured, primed the explosive as he landed atop his fellows; the explosion ensured all three would be killed, but not before a pair managed a burst of fire into the Warden. In that moment, she felt this odd sensation fade, as she was left weakened, injured, and dazed from the encounter; not in the best shape to dodge a burst of blaster fire.
The blasts struck Lil hard, sizzling away at the protection of her armor, knocking her back against a crate, and sending her body slumping to the floor. Bleeding from her armor now, she felt her lungs struggling to pump air, the smell of burning flesh now hitting her nostrils, and watching as Shadows attempted to make up for the brief distraction that she had caused.
She managed to lift her hand and press it over her smoldering armor, her burnt flesh showing through the ruined sections of armor, her helmet cracked and carbon scarred.
Was this how she was going to die here? She felt her consciousness fading, the noise of her vital sounds sounded now, droning in her ear as her heart beat began to falter. She had done something she wasn't supposed to, and now she was paying the price. A Bacta injection was administered by her suit, and she could only remain unmoving as her eyes slowly shut.

<"For the Empire! The Empress doesn't like being if someone puts her in front of the empire. Rulers come and go, but the Empire is eternal!"> she said as a farewell.

How many times did the woman have to say this while she was in Ingrid's form and replaced her. She knew that a woman would never place herself at the head of the Empire because that would be ahead of the Empire itself. Yes, Kessia sometimes found the red-haired woman weird and didn’t understand. They were quite different, which is why it was a challenge for her to form the Empress.

She had to go to the third floor, and Chameleon reached this level soon. She had to walk past a few guards, but no one noticed her. Neither the droids nor the live staff. On her way, she stole an ID card from one of the guards; invisibly it wasn't too hard. That's why she was able to get into the security room completely unnoticed.

There was only one person inside who turned back when the door opened; in the end he swore that someone was having fun again. He also sat back in his chair, facing the monitors. Kessia walked calmly to him and stood behind him as she pulled out one of her daggers. As soon as she lifted her invisible hand in front of the man and cut his throat; made a quick and firm motion.

The next moment, she became visible and set about turning off all cameras and security systems. It took about two minutes for this and in the end all the monitors were turned off.

<"Security systems and cameras turned off, I'm going after you."> she said on the comm. channel. By the time she reached the door and exited to the corridor, she was invisible again.

The air in front of Corin's face sizzled as bolt after bolt rushed by, red streaks of blinding light that pinged and bounced off the racking, each ricochet a potential threat. Sneaking a peek, the Ultranaut fired back, matching shot for shot until eventually the barrage ceased. Seeing her chance to push, the Captain climbed to her feet. She was already taking a step out into the open when her HUD picked up another target towards the back of the room. Unable to catch herself, the Ultranaut's only choice was to commit to it. Raising her rifle, she barely had the time to act before the Shadow Imperial opened up on her. She knew it was too late, that her enemy had the upper hand. She readied herself for the inevitable.

And then Lil was at her side, brushing past. Corin couldn't tell if what she was seeing was real or not. The bolt that was meant for her was deflected by some unseen force. The Force, Corin quickly realized, a shiver running through her. She didn't envy the Shadows; the traitors were about to get what they'd been due for some time now.

Corin doubted it would be pretty.

Moving up with her squads, the Captain followed behind Lil as she pursued their quarry into the loading bay. Clearing the fatal funnel as quickly as they could, Cor went left as more of her soldiers went right, spreading out in order to catch the enemy from multiple sides. Lilanna went on, oblivious to the danger or perhaps not caring. "Lil!" Corin shouted, stepping into cover before opening up with her rifle. The blaster bucked gently, each shot meeting it's mark. As it turned out, there had been more Shadow fireteams than 1-2's leader had first suspected. Not that it mattered. The Shadows were done, though, those that remained fought hard to deny that fact.

It was one of those that managed to put Lil down.

It happened in an instant. Or it at least felt like it. Time seemed to lose meaning in moment's like this. Cor couldn't tell exactly how long it had been since the engagement had started, but now that it was leading up to it's final throes, the matter seemed important. Why? She didn't know. Maybe it was just her mind trying to distract her from the fact that her ward was falling. Has fallen. "Lil!" Corin shouted again, shifting her aim to put down the Shadow who'd hurt her friend. Her fireteams beat her to it.

"Clear!"

Hopping down into the bay, Corin approached Lil, wary of what she was about to find. Around her, her teams went about finishing off the wounded, putting bolts into the slain and the soon-to-be slain, before pulling security. Kneeling down beside Lilanna, the Ultranaut Captain reached out a hand before thinking better of it. "Medic!" She called, the woman in question soon appearing by her side, kit in hand. "On it." Standing up, Corin looked down at Lil for a moment, before stepping away. "Damn fool." She muttered under her breath, concern and annoyance vying for control of her thoughts. "All teams, sound off. 1-1?"

"We're good."
"1-2?"
"We've one down and another wounded. Permission to tend to them?"
"No need to stand on ceremony, sergeant. See to your people."
"Yes, Captain."
"1-3?"
"Top floor's secure, Captain. Two down here. 1-4's taking overwatch."
"Understood, 1-3. We'll be holding here until the fourth and fifth platoons arrive to reinforce us. Butcher and Cipher companies are inbound, too. Empress' orders."

"Captain?" Turning, Corin lifted an eyebrow at the medic. Despite not being able to see through her helmet, the medic seemed to understand perfectly what was expected. "It's the Tourist, sir. I've done what I can for her, but with all this circuitry and wiring, she needs to see a real doctor stat. Otherwise..." The medic let the words hang, shook her head. "Otherwise she's done."

Tranquility found it weird to be in a body this long. Normally she spent as little time as possible controlling something like this. It made her feel for the organics trapped in one place. To only have one presence at a time. How do they get as much as they do done? It was a fair question. She followed
and when they engaged the guards, she timed her firing of her carbine to the exact time that Ivixa got rid of hers, aiming for the skull of the man. Her now over heating gun was cooling as she confirmed the kill before moving on. The thud of the body hitting the ground the only sound emitted from her scuffle. "I will follow your lead in the meeting, let me know when to engage and I will aid to the best of my ability."
