STRENGTHS
  • Swarm -
    • What the ship lacks in armament, it makes up for it fully with its powerful engines and movement capabilities. With self adjusting wings, the ship is capable of outmaneurving other fighters with ease; keeping up with some of the fastest ships in the galaxy. The point of the 'Tomb' is to not to take a hit and keep going, but rather to never get hit in the first place; requiring a far higher level of training for its pilots, but makes up for in its exceptional prowess on the battlefield.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Second Chance -
    • Without shields, the 'Tomb' fits its name - incapable of taking more than a few glancing blows before needing to redock for repairs, or otherwise going down under sustained fire where others might stay afloat. This makes the skill ceiling for the 'Tomb' far higher than other vessels - but doubles in the fact that its mortality rate is often higher than other ships of the same class.
  • Stay At Home -
    • Without a hyperdrive, or the means to attach itself to a hyperdrive ring, the ship is incapable of providing long range support as others might hope for. Meaning this ship offers no patrol effectiveness and must remain solely in the same system as it is deployed - making them better ship or base compliments while corvettes or patrol craft serve as a better means to monitor the borders.
DESCRIPTION

Without a proper starfighter corp, the Sith Eternal once again turned to Jaeger Solutions to produce its main stay fighters. With the general consensus of the Dark Council being that the Sith Eternal didn't have the total manpower for heavy and slow moving ships - but rather the exceptional power of elite small groups of troops, it was decided that the starfighters would be built as a means to out maneuver their opposition while also providing a strong support for its nearby ships. This makes the starfighters highly capable - if not lacking in its heavier state - but fully capable of escorting more powerful anti-ship weapons to their target.
Most notably, attention was given strictly to the engines and internal dampening systems - allowing it to become a monster in terms of avoiding oppositional fire. However, this came with the harsh reality that only the most skilled pilots would succeed more than a few combat missions, where mortality rate would drop from 70% to 5% after the third mission. Where high population groups might consider this beneficial, the Sith Eternal realized that it could only maintain the most highly trained of individuals - helping to cement its veterancy throughout its military quickly and fully, having it compensate for their lack of overt numbers.
Overall, this makes the 'Tomb' fit its namesake - a dangerous ship to fly, but one that can easily make up for its dangerous nature and lack of protection by simply being too fast or hard to hit. This doubles as a means of effective escort for slower and heavier ships, as when an oppositional ship focuses on the harder to destroy central figures, the 'Tomb' can find a very easy path to getting behind the opposition; effectively making it a quick response escort while also carrying enough firepower to do damage to oppositional ships in a pinch.

I quite like it, but there some minor issues to look at before I can approve this.
  • Please include your usual permission for the DC-2A.
  • This submission is one point overpowered, I assume you intend for the lack of a hyperdrive to be a significant weakness? If so, I'm afraid I can't accept that with the current template. The removal of the Hyperdrive for an additional rating isn't unreasonable, per se, but if such a thing is to be accepted it should be a Factory-wide decision to minimise confusion, at least in my opinion.
    • That said, I can approve this as is, just be aware that it may be an issue if it's reported.
While the above are the only issues you need to at least look at, I have some general questions too.
  • Firstly, are you sure you want to make Jedi Shadow Bombs this vessel's only option for munitions? You are aware that they are essentially completely unguided/unpropelled proton bombs that rely on a Jedi's abilities to be an effective weapon, right?
  • Out of curiosity, are you sure you wish to squeeze an internal security system and a pair of humanoid-size pilot droids into the cockpit of a fighter? Likewise with putting a co-pilot in a standard fighter whose guns are all forward fixed, seems odd since the Description makes a big point out of the Sith Eternal's preference for fewer but more qualified pilots.

Status on this? I can give you until this Sunday (21/03) to complete the necessary changes, but if no reply or meaningful change has been received by then I will be archiving this for inactivity. Returning it to Pre-Factory is also an option, though the required changes are rather slight.

Lovely. My apologies for it slipping my mind earlier, but please update the Sith Eternal's link to its post-update version, so as to avoid any confusion. I would recommend doing the same for your other submissions undergoing or awaiting review. I've compiled a list for your convenience.
Given that the Boreas and Talos were submitted after the Faction update, I would suggest updating your templates accordingly.

Please note that any Codex or Pre-Factory submissions will have been missed; this was a cursory look at the Factory, nothing more.
