CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
SOCORRO'S BELT, KOLENE SPACEPORT
OBJECTIVE I: SYSTEM PURGE
"This is Admiral Mance Iblis of the Corellian Defence Force contacting all self-titled 'Imperials'. I give you one last chance to surrender yourselves and face judicial justice within Corellian courts. Refusal to power down all shields and weapons will be taken as an act of piracy and war, and punished in kind. I may not speak for the Republic, but I will personally see to it you are given a fair trial on Corellia."
The words of
Mance Iblis
rang hollow to Ronhar as blaster bolts continued whizzing past his head. He ducked around the corner he had taken cover behind and fired off a four round burst of 23mm slugs from his
Model 216 "Big Game Hunter", knocking over one of the Mandalorians targeting him due to the sheer power that such projectiles impacted upon their target. Directly across from his position, a
Veteran Trooper, accompanied by one of the relocated refugees from Lianna, were attempting to cross over to Ronhar's side. The
Veteran Trooper activated his personal energy shield, and using his body to shield the refugee at his side, ran over to Ronhar, tanking a couple of stray blaster bolts that impacted his armor as he made his move across. After a few seconds, the
Veteran Trooper and the person he was escorting made it over safely to Ronhar's side, and another
ARC Trooper then grabbed the refugee to escort him back to one of the waiting
Imperial U-Wings.
Yet another refugee appeared across the hallway from Ronhar, escorted by a different
ARC Trooper, and they made a break for Ronhar's position. Unfortunately, the
ARC Trooper took a blaster bolt directly to his head, killing him instantly, and the refugee he was escorting panicked, running back to the side of the hallway that he had started on, crouching down around the corner in fear. Ronhar activated the
NZ MAM MkII Jet Maneuvering Gear on his
Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton, flying over to the man as quickly as he could. He forced him to stand up, and then threw a pair of
Rhydonium Grenades at the attacking Mandalorian forces. The grenades exploded into a cloud of highly toxic Rhydonium, and Ronhar took the moment to grab the refugee and get him back to side of the hallway that he had started out on, bringing him closer to relative safety.
As Ronhar took a moment to breathe, a message pinged over his comms.
"Sir, we've got an unidentified vessel closing in onto our location. Its description matches that of a
HRNV Comitari-class Transport Shuttle belonging to one Senator
Tryvge Hakon
."
It took Ronhar a few seconds to fully process what he had just been told about the Senator.
"He's...here? Senator
Tryvge Hakon
is here? In the middle of an active war zone?"
"It would appear that way, sir."
Ronhar cursed to himself as he reloaded the magazine tube on his
Model 216 "Big Game Hunter". He couldn't decided if the Senator was especially brave or especially foolish. At the very least, he certainly had a hell of a lot of guts to willingly show up to a place like this, which Ronhar begrudgingly had to respect about the Senator. That was one of the reasons Ronhar had agreed to work with Hakon in the first place, as he was clearly a man of action, one unafraid to take risks and to go out into the field with his men and constituents despite the danger to himself. Of course, it would do no good for Ronhar if he got himself hurt or killed, and so he gave out some new orders to better ensure the Senator's safety.
"Understood. Have a flight of
STX-TIEs escort the Senator's shuttle, and someone get me a direct line to Supreme Commander
Marlon Sularen
. We need to inform him that the Senator is on our side, and is to be under no circumstances targeted or fired upon by Imperial forces."
In all honesty, Ronhar wasn't really sure just if Senator Hakon would be attacked or not, but he wasn't willing to take any chances. His status as a Senator should mean that the Mandalorians would allow him to operate or at the very least not attempt to eliminate him, but the battlefield could be rather chaotic at times, and "accidents" were always liable to happen when you least expected them.
"Understood, sir. I'll get those messages relayed out as soon as possible. One more thing you need to know, sir. We're detecting a massive Mandalorian Fleet moving in on our position. It appears that they're actively scanning for Imperial assets, though at the moment they have yet to find the
Von Strauss-class Cargo Ship we've left cloaked and hidden amongst the asteroid fields. The asteroids and floating debris should slow their scans down, but it's only a matter of time before we're detected."
"Good to know. We'll extract the rest of the refugees as soon as possible. For now, remain hidden and do not break contact unless directly fired on. Good luck, Ronhar out."
Ronhar sighed as he prepared to move onto the next part of the station. It seemed that the Mandalorians and High Republic were going to make him work for every single person that he rescued, and that the amount of time left that he had to do so was continuing to dwindle with each and every passing moment...
