STRENGTHS
- Mobile outlaw tech base, capable of turning wreckage and raw materials into ship modifications.
- Excellent navigation systems and hyperdrive.
- Very high ion/EMP resistance.
- Advanced artificial intelligence.
- Strong shields and hull.
WEAKNESSES
- Low armament, mostly 'nonlethal' and less than half of the stock loadout.
- Very low maneuverability due to large holds full of ships, parts, and power tools.
- The manual is worthless. The Wretched Hive bears little resemblance to the ship it was five years ago, and no resemblance whatsoever to the stock model. It's been changed a piece at a time. If there are any original Republic of Starcrest components left, it would be a surprise to the Chief Engineer.
DESCRIPTION
The long-gone explorer Jorus Merrill and his outlaw tech friends acquired and modified the ship that became the Wretched Hive. They transformed the generic heavy freighter inside and out a piece at a time, making it a mobile refit and repair base for the Underground. Over the years the Wretched Hive developed an unparalleled reputation for aftermarket starship modifications, and left its mark all across the Outer Rim.
With the disappearance or death of its captain, the Hive carried on in recent years, albeit less aggressively than before. Its ageing chief engineer and its artificial intelligence kept the Hive's work on track for quality.
The prospector and shipwright Jerec Asyr has done some work for the Hive.
