      • Repair Workshops
      • Droid storage
  • Internal Defenses and Security
    • The Ship’s Marines maintain the primary responsibility for the ship’s security.
      • A wide spead Sensor network allows the marines assisted by the ship’s AI to keep track of the comings and goings aboard the ship.
      • Retractable Blaster Turrets covering sensitive areas of the ship (Bridge, Engineering, Armouries, CIC, hangars)
      • Turdaium Blast Doors
        • Designed to seal off a section of a ship from intruders, fire or exposure to the vacuum of space.
      • Brig
      • Marine Country
        • The section of the ship nearest the hangars is dedicated to the Marines, allowing them to deploy off ship, or to support the ship against boarding as needed
        • Gun Range
        • Workshops for Weapons and Armour
        • Primary Amoury
          • Containing the bulk of weapons and armour aboard the ship

        • Cap Drains
  • Engineering
  • Command and Control
    • Bridge:
      • The bridge is located in the centre of the ship, well protected from enemy attacks.
      • The captain has an office located just off the bridge where they can attend to paperwork or meetings.
    • CIC/Auxiliary Bridge:
      • The CIC is set towards the front of the ship and functions as a data analysis centre that can also be utilised as an emergency command centre if required.
      • There is an office located just off the CIC for the use of the ship’s executive officer
  • Medbay
    • Located equidistant between engineering and the hangars the medbay is the territory of the ship's doctor, tasked with healing the crew's injuries and illnesses.
      • Infirmary
        • A general area where most crew are seen to treat minor ailments, bumps and bruises.
      • Operating theatres
        • Dedicated rooms which can be sealed against outside particulates if needed for more serious injuries or operations. Can also double as quarantine rooms.

Strengths.png

  • Automated:
    • Like many vessels produced by Locke and Key Mechanics the Svalinn is heavily automated, relying on the Aesir System and a wide variety of droids to allow the ship to run with a minimal crew.
  • Mailed Fist:
    • The Svalinn-Class Destroyer is designed as a ship of the line, specifically designed for fleet battles and the projection of power. Its defenses are second-to-none, a variety of powerful shields covering a thick hull that is able to shrug off damage that would have crippled a lesser ship.
  • Variable Attack:
    • The Svalinn has a range of weapons, from its spinal mounted cannon to a number of long and close range weapons that allow it to engage the enemy wherever it is. For a ship designed to advance in a slow line of combat this ability to engage targets at all ranges as they close on them.
  • Reverse Thrusters:
    • Due to the gravitational technology which powers the Svalinn's Huabing engines the ships are designed to drive in reverse or move forward, or indeed from side to side with equal capability.
  • Modular Design:
    • The Svalinn-Class Destroyers were built using Locke and Key's new modular design, partitioning the ship into sections. Each module had inner walls of Turadium as well as blast doors that could seal them off in the event of boarding actions or a catastrophic hull breach. This way, the designers believed that the ships could survive damage that would have destroyed weaker ships and keep the crew alive.
  • “We most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet” (Halo)
    • As a ship of the line the Svalinn-Class Destroyers deploy with a significant marine presence, and the space onboard to house them and allow them to train. The presence of the marines allows the Svalinn to adapt and respond to a range of situations, from boarding enemy ships to deploying a presence on the ground. The Marines allow the Svalinn to cater to any scenario they may need.

Weaknesses.png

  • Small Crew:
    • Due to the heavy automation of the Direwolf, the crew complement is surprisingly tiny. Barely enough, in fact, to manage the critical system on the ship should the automation be neutralized.
  • For a brick, he flew pretty good:
    • No-one ever claimed the Svalinn was a fast or maneuverable ship, in fact it’s pilots have described it as a flying elephant. A low acceleration and low maneuverability means that it isn’t going to win any races, it’ll get you from A to B, but it won’t be graceful about it.

Description.png

There was a time, centuries in the past when the empire was a young ideal, when a single Star Destroyer was enough to cow a star system. When a single Star Destroyer was a sign of the Empire’s power and it’s reach.
Time have changed since then and the symbol of Imperial Might has become a common sight, when dozens of Star Destroyers or more have been involved in pitched battles over the most meaningless of planets. When navies didn’t measure victory or loss by a matter of a few lost ships but by a dozen of them.
In this new inferno of war the blades of the combatants needed to change, to adapt to the new modus operendi of the galaxy. The Imperial-class Star Destroyers were developed as a jack-of-all trades, designed to operate alone as much as in a fleet. As such they had to be able to adapt to anything that was thrown their way, a generalist. The Imperial-class carried an assortment of fighters and bombers, could operate to hunter down pirates or stand in a fleet to attack or defend a critical objective.
Modern times however called for a greater degree of specialization.
The Svalinn-class Destroyer is Locke and Key Mechanics answer to this need for greater specialization, a Star Destroyer with one purpose, to stand in the line of battle.
The Svalinn-class ships are a wall of sheidl and metal designed to take the fury of an enemies fleet and return fire as they move into close range before unleashing a barrage of fire. To do this they scaled back it’s speed and hangar capacity, leaving more space for offensive and defensive systems. The Svalinn won’t be chasing down fleeing pirate ships, and isn’t the best choice to escort a convoy, but no better ships exists to fill out the frontline of a fleet or to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies.

Great ship and sub as always! However, I have a question. You mention the Cloaking Device under Exotic Technology, but it is not mentioned later in the sub. Is this a device which when you are using it the others are still able to detect the ship with high grade sensors, or one that can block/distract everything? Because if the second, then the ship can only be Semi-Unique.
