STRENGTHS
  • We Got Options -
    • With a variety of transportation means, the 'Hermes' is a hyperdrive capable of transporting its ship through more than just regular hyperspace - but additionally it can transport ships through Sub-Hyperspace and Otherspace; the former for more immediate leaps through real space, and the latter for more stealth orientated approaches to bypass hyperspace monitoring systems; though it should be noted that this doesn't protect against Otherspace monitoring, or offer any actual form of stealth.
  • Short Haul -
    • Micro-Jump Capacitors allow the 'Hermes' to make multiple short range jumps in succession - helping smugglers get across the galaxy faster, and military vessels to jump through Sub-Hyperspace for tactical positioning. This can allow for up to three concurrent jumps before the capacitors are drained and the ship must rely on the powers of more regular charging and firing of the Hyperdrive.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Consumption -
    • With three possible dimensions to jump through, and capacitors to charge - the very nature of the hyperdrive means it consumes massive amounts of energy. For most ships, this will simply prove too intensive without removing more mundane systems; air conditioning being a notable one. This also means that any ion energy will force the capacitors and their regular navigational charts to reset - and possibly clear entirely, making it entirely useless without external astronavigational systems.
  • Dangerous Calculations -
    • Should the hyperdrive be hit in the middle of a charging jump, or a jump itself - most navigational means will be scrambled, and there is the severe chance that someone will be sent to a random location; with a high probability of damage to the 'Hermes' itself. That means one can easily become stranded in the endless expanse of space if they are not careful - or worse, in Otherspace itself.
  • Dude, Where's My Ship? -
    • As any Otherdrive, there always come a risk of travelling through that little known space - the primary being that you could be hunted and killed for trespassing. While secretive to most hyperlane routes, the fact of the matter is simple; travelling through Otherspace is extremely dangerous, and without proper protection or awareness, can easily see you and your crew mates dead - or at the very least, missing for the rest of known time.
DESCRIPTION
Traditionally, most Hyperdrives have focused on speed - on increasing the limit and capacity of any given traversement of the hyperlanes; but it has grown old and tiresome. The fastest hyper drives in the galaxy have been made many times overs - and none seem to truly claim the title. No, Jaeger understood this; and has decided that while a good platform for speed should remain, that the heart of a Hyperdrive should not be how robust it is -
But how resilient it is to your plans.
Introducing the HS-10 “Hermes” Class Hyperdrive, capable of traversing through Sub-Hyperspace, Hyperspace, and Otherspace; a traditionally uncommon solution to the variety of hyperdrives out on the market today. Each has their strengths, but more importantly each have the capacity to be as slow or fast as the design requires - though it should be noted that once set at an operational speed, adjusting it will cause grievous bodily harm to any occupants within the ship without further testing and development of the tuning. (AKA: Hyperdrive can be any speed, but once submitted must remain at the rating set.)
The most notable feature of the drive is its ability to travel into Otherspace - a dangerous dimension inhabited by stranger creatures. Those who pass through it are often taken by pirates, some thought to be eaten, and the vast majority simply disappear with no rhyme or reason. That means that the dangers of Otherspace must be outweighed by something significant enough to be utilized; and that singular purpose is to avoid traditional Hyperspace Lane monitoring systems, and more regulated areas of space.
Second is the Sub-Hyperspace capacity, that allows the ship to accurately perform ‘Micro-Jumps’ across systems without otherwise entering hyperspace. While this allows one to move extremely quickly, it does suffer from being an extremely long charge up, or otherwise the more readily usable capacitors - that which allow quick jumps in and out of systems, or through. There are only three charges, however, and once used they must spend even longer to be utilized - creating a very situational usage for the device.
Overall, the ‘Hermes’ is capable of a wide variety of uses; but is hopefully to become the new galactic standard for hyperdrives across the known hyperlanes. With its automatically updated software, tactical navigational systems, Otherspace capacity, and micro-jump capacitors; it serves a fundamental advancement of all things hyperspace.

Sadly, I am going to have to have you remove the mention of being able to travel to "Companion Galaxies."

While people are able to make threads in which they visit a Companion Galaxy, we cant make hyperdrives for those Galaxies. 1, we don't have maps there, and its left up to interpretation of what is out there. 2, In the Codex, you are not allowed to make planets, species, or locations in Companion Galaxies. So for this, I will have to follow suit.
