TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Perfect in its role: The Suzerain I-Class Command Cruiser is perfectly fitting its name and thus its role, bringing a strong balance of offensive and defensive capabilities coupled to a well balanced speed and maneuvrability ratio, this vessel is a perfect standard as a command vessel for small fleets or as a ship of the line when being part of much larger fleets.
  • Point Defense: With the combination of flak turrets, stormwarden turrets and the electromagnetic cannons, this ship has an excellent point defense, allowing for it to screen a much larger surrounding compared to other ships, thus lowering its weak spots to nigh zero.
  • Perfect Balance: In its role as a command cruiser, the Suzerain can bring forth a balance that emphasizes defense over offense, but still has enough weight to throw around for any offensive campaign. it's speed and maneuvrability are perfectly in balance, allowing for either to be altered at the cost of the other within known parameters.
  • Full automation: As almost all of the N&Z ships, this ship also relies heavily on near, if not full automation, where the ship's AI either is in full control or has access to all main functions, allowing for smaller crews than usual to keep this ship operational and it minimizes things like reaction time and delay of the hierarchy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Full Automation: While this ship has many advantages with the full automation, any issue with the ship's AI or internal processors may cause it to shut down, which if the crew is only the bare minimum, would drastically lower if not fully remove any operational capacity.
  • No HIMS system: Not having an HIMS onboard of this ship, makes it vulnerable to both man-made and natural gravity wells.
  • Hangar space: Due to the heavy automation and the considerable space used for the defensive and offensive placements, this ship has a below average hangar space.
DESCRIPTION

The Suzerain I-class was a ship that was effectively always on the drawing board, but had never seen itself reach full production status. However, under the influence of Director Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss who favored cost effective meassurements in any navy, seeing the importance of not only making new models and products with the least necessary changes, but also falling on his experience as a military man with a long and extensive track record of being both an engineer and military man, the Tyrant-IV seemed to be the perfect basis for a more standardised and more classical vessel which could form the new backbone of the N&Z's product line. Under his orders, Starworks was pushed to research the possibility of changing the aforementioned Tyrant IV into a more conventional battleship.

After a few hiccups regarding the removal of the Missile ring and the enlargement of the central structure, the new design was akin to most Imperial star destroyers, just scaled down to be more manageable and more befitting most of the N&Z's clients; planetary warlords and governments with reach no far beyond a single sector. In their case the cruiser design now named the Suzerain, would perfectly fit as a command vessel. However, for its larger and more affluent clients, the cruiser could be considered a perfect ship of the line, a easy to maintain, easy to understand and use vessel with no clear weakpoints in its overall design, a good balance between offensive and defensive capabilities, and a simple set up with most of its basis already ingrained thoroughly in most imperial navies.

Unlike its sister ship though, the Tyrant does not have the design imbalance which makes it hard to enter and exit planet's orbits and atmospheres, allowing for it to actually operate in atmospheric conditions. It's bulk also allows for more personel and cargo to be hauled for incursions on planets and transporting men and material.
