STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Spanish Galleon -
    • Stacked with the most advanced technology Jaeger has to offer, the "Hercules" Class Super Freighter is meant entirely to serve as the number one choice of transportation for all of the Galaxy's good - with contracts already in place to see it having immediate use. With everything from specialized Jaeger armor for ship based incursions - to a completely inhospitable climate and AI overseer to see the schedule is never deviated from. These Super Freighters have no equal in the world of commodity, and Jaeger has seen fit to prove this with every possible measure of technology available.
  • Matter is just information, right? -
    • Along with its powerful defenses and automation technologies, the true strength of the "Hercules" is its ability to move more product than anything else in the known galaxy. Made possibly by its beyond powerful AI, the "Hercules" has the means to 'deconstruct' material received and store it as nothing more than information stacked carefully through quantum superposition and even more dangerous science that not even Jaeger could quite explain. This effectively allows a single "Hercules" to transport nearly 'infinite' amounts of resources - restricted only by what is brought on board.
WEAKNESSES
  • Packet Loss -
    • While the strength of the "Hercules" exists in its ability to hold 'infinite' cargo in the form of information carefully parsed by its super AI, there also exists the danger of hacking (highly unlikely) to ionization energy destroying what storage devices are on board. This means that all cargo onboard can be destroyed permanently with the use of any type of weapons that penetrate the shields and armor of the super freighter - as nothing but primordial 'goo' would form in the aftermath of the explosion.
  • Matter Expulsion -
    • On the topic of explosions, it should also be noted that if the "Hercules" is particularly loaded down with matter information, upon its destruction or discombobulation it will see a massive expulsion of all stored cargo. This can often mean that a fully loaded "Hercules" with have explosions that can damage wide berths of space, including all ships near it. However, due to the pyronium hyperspatial dimension, much of this information is lost after a 'super critical mass'. This means that at most, explosions can damage fleets surrounding it, but in no way can harm celestial bodies.
DESCRIPTION

With Jaeger's commitment to its new IGBC parent company, and the growing intent of Caulder Dune Caulder Dune to create galactic standardization for trade, Maliphant saw fit to set his company out on developing the supreme solution for cargo vessels. This was achieved in the SF-24 "Hercules" Class Super Freighter, a freighter so on the cutting edge of science fiction that nothing but the greatest fleets of freighter companies can compete. In one master move, Maliphant saw Jaeger become one the greatest transportation companies in the galaxy - all for the sake of Caulder Dune Caulder Dune appreciation. Or his own amusement, but that is neither here nor there.
In essence, the only thing that truly separates the "Hercules" from other Jaeger ships, or even other super freighters, is that it can store matter as information. This means that the Hercules is not actually restricted to the normal limitations of 'space management' or the size of the ship itself - and instead only restricting its storage capacity by the abilities of the AI onboard managing the beyond insane amount of data being imported onto the ship. While the AI can handle a ridiculous amount of cargo, this also means that the technology is restricted to only the largest and most powerful ships capable of handling such a task. Upon realizing its destination, it will then set out to reconstruct the matter back to its original state with a blistering pace - but it should be noted that the process is only on par with standard unloading procedures.
Overall, the "Hercules" is a ship with no equal - a super freighter capable of moving entire empire's GDPs in a single run - leave alone its beyond exceptional cloaking technologies to insure that all of its deliveries are kept discrete. This, combined with a constantly changing delivery route and schedule allows the ships to stay relatively safe from the prying hands of pirates - but when secrecy isn't an option, it is not out of the question to send these ships with a full escort of ships; automated or otherwise.

I love freighters but we got problems needing to be addressed and there is a lot...so much so, I am denying this submission but listing every problem with it in case of a second chance along with the explanation as to why.

I have separated into two sections which are common issues and the discussion issues.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To your company page please, not your marketplace.

Link broken, please repair.

Do you have permission to use these items from Mon Calamari Shipyards/Reshmar? If so, please show else it will be required to be removed.

Do you have permission from Blith/Blith-Tech? If so, please show the permissions else till will have to be removed.

I am pretty sure Lords of the Fringe no longer exists. Please remove or get permission from the original owner and place it in the permissions section.

  • Armament: None

Does not matter if they are defensive weapons or not, these are still weapons. List them under armaments or remove them completely as being a civilian ship, this is not allowed.

You are also over three ratings which also include the .5 hyperdrive, please reduce your production rating and/or downgrade two of the ratings.

I cannot think of a single thing that relates to this in Star Wars except Carbonite and that is just freezing the product and transporting. This on the other hand is similar to other Sci-Fi genres, most notably Star Trek. Unless you have a prime example as to when this has ever happened, I will request that this entire process is removed along with any mention of this process in your description and the rest of the submission.

Matter Expulsion -
  • On the topic of explosions, it should also be noted that if the "Hercules" is particularly loaded down with matter information, upon its destruction or discombobulation it will see a massive expulsion of all stored cargo. This can often mean that a fully loaded "Hercules" with have explosions that can damage wide berths of space, including all ships near it. This can make hyperlanes especially dangerous for a number of weeks or months until they are cleaned.
There is no limit from what I am reading on explosion radius along with the dangers of destroying/crippling a hyperlane, along with the extreme possibility of destroying not only a planet, but a star system. I am formerly labeling this weakness as a Super Weapon and request immediate removal. This is not objectable.

Judged or not, this is not allowed on a civilian starship. This can be used easily to cloak an entire fleet around it, even if it is not the main combatant but there are plenty of others around it to attack for it. This goes double for making this an Open Market submission, allowing anyone to do this. For that, I am requesting this items immediate removal.

I noted all of this for a particular reason. That being, this is not a civilian starship anymore. Yes, you meet the criteria of an unarmed starship but those show a different intention. I never go towards a balance reason for roleplay but this is one of the few times I have to step in and explain.

With a .5 Hyperdrive, the ship will arrive in system quickly and throw up a fleet wide cloak of either more of itself or possibly an entire combat fleet. Plus with HIMS, it really cannot be interrupted save for Factory Items that would blow up the ship in the attempt which I will get back into in a moment. With Gravity Well Generators, it can keep enemy starships around the starship while cloaked, not able to jump out of hyperspace and let the combat fleet to wipe them from the board. Then of course, it can use the Molecular Furnace to scoop up all the remains into an ever infinite storage space. With that, it can be a resupply ship with an everlasting amount of materials needing to regroup the fleet. This was the first thought I had when seeing this submission and does classify more towards a Combat Ship. Plus, if why would a civilian transport ship need with Military Grade Gravity Well Generators along with missile launchers that carry Discord Missiles?

Now onto another reason, let's go back towards that HIMS situation where it gets sucked out of Hyperspace, HIMS goes off and destroys the starship. If it expels a ton of produce or some sharp objects, yes that will hurt and take a lot of clean up...but what if it was filled with Tibanna Gas? Baradium Explosives? Radioactive Material? There is essentially a nuke and those so many times bigger that it can become a suicide ship directly into a station...a planet or even a solar system and activate it, essentially destroying whatever it is near without a single bit of effort. This is why I also classified it as a Super Weapon, it can be ready not only at any time, it can be roleplayed that it is filled to the brim with not only explosives but many other types of materials that I cannot even begin to describe and just instantly, destroy an entire fleet, station, the moon, the planet and even the star in the Solar System into effective nothingness. For that also, I direct it to being a Combat Starship.

The final thing I wanted to mention is something that is more unorthodox. This starship can create an infinite amount of droids with the modular furnace and automation systems. Being cloaked, this ship can essentially invade an entire planet while constantly building a droid army an in infinite cargo bay. Essentially if it even drop pods with Support Craft slots or just simply land, the starship can deploy tens of thousands to millions of military grade hardware droids and with a modular furnace...it never runs out. At this point, I have to make note that this is extremely close to the World Devastator, essentially a modular furnace that eats everything with an automation system, with a powerful AI that can also cloak and have infinite storage space that can keep building up near constant. For that reason, it is being classified a second time as a different kind of Super Weapon, the kind where it has near infinite supply of not only battle droids, but whatever it can produce in masse and set upon the galaxy.

For all of these reasons, being of a Combat Starship disguised as a Civilian Starship as a possible fleet asset, the current non-existence of matter to information technology, to infinite storage space that knows no bounds, and the classification of two entirely different uses as a Super Weapon which is illegal which also encompasses as an Open Market submission, I hereby deny this submission.

If you wish to request a Second Chance to this submission, you can go to the Second Chance Request thread and request a different Factory Judge if you believe this was judged unfairly.

Since this was second chanced, I edited some of the details mentioned to better align with the vision of the project. Although I am unsure if Listib Hibin Listib Hibin will be judging this further, I will quote his reply for posterity to demark the changes made.

  1. Manufacturer
    1. Fixed the link.
  2. QQ
    1. Fixed the link.
  3. Permissions
    1. Added all the permissions necessary.
  4. BE-1313
    1. I was under the assumption civilian vessels were allowed very minor defensive armament. If I am mistaken, I removed all mentions of such (I believe), but if it is alright I would like minor 'flak' cannons or some sort back - however, it isn't a big deal.
  5. Ratings
    1. Forgot to add this, but I have also changed the hanger space to average and maneuverability to low to compensate. I was unaware that hyperdrive still count in ratings. A suggestion would be to add that back to the template to reduce confusion, but I'll remember it myself for future submissions.
  6. Does this fit star wars?
    1. Star Wars is arguably a mixture between fantasy and science fiction. As linked in the primary sources, matter existing on a fundamental level as nothing more than information is playing into fantasy tropes for the fun of the setting - and to enjoy creative freedom within that. Since Star Wars already has pocket dimensions, teleportation, time travel, and any other number of things, I don't think storing matter as information (which is theoretically possible in actual reality) should be a serious concern. I'd argue that not only does it fit the setting, but I did a reasonably well job to adapt the scientific theory to star wars in a tasteful manner.
  7. Explosion Limit
    1. While I hadn't intended for this to be used a system wide bomb, I can see the concern. Since Super Weapons are indeed banned, I had not thought it would be perceived like that - so I added in an addendum. All explosions have a 'super critical limit', meaning that at a certain point, the explosion of the ship will get no larger. At most, the ship fully loaded will damage the fleet around it - however, while this isn't meant to be used offensively, the damage stated is strictly up to the recipient and this submission is in no way meant to call hits. Additionally, the explosion can NOT damage any celestial bodies of any capacity, let alone entire star systems. I have also removed the mention of hyperlane interference, since it was simply meant to be flavor text.
  8. Stealth Generator
    1. While I don't think there is an actual limit on civilian ships being able to use stealth generators, I'm also not sure there's a limit to civilian ships being able to assist in combat situations. There are a number of repair ships and fleet tenders that are considered civilian, but can actively help fleets they are in despite this. If I'm mistaken, I can switch out the X-03 with a generic star wars stealth generator.
  9. Gravity Wells
    1. Accidental copy and paste from another ship I had made, removed it from the post.
  10. Makeshift Super Weapon Bomb
    1. Filling the ship with baradium, nuclear weapons, or radioactive material doesn't make a difference in what happens during the explosion. As stated in the weakness 'Packet Loss', whatever is stored turns into primordial goo; meaning that all cargo is lost, and what is left is essentially ground up putty molecular furnaces might be able to turn into something if they tried hard enough. In no way does any expelled matieral retain its normal properties, so it can NOT be loaded up with baradium and used as a super explosion. It would arguably be less effective than a regular ship filled like that would be.
  11. World Devastator Comparison
    1. A comparison was drawn between the Hercules and World Devastators because the molecular furnaces - however, there is nothing about the Hercules that actually differentiates it from any other ship with a molecular furnace. Yes, it has a lot of material - but it can't just take material from a celestial body at will, it has none of the mining equipment nor processing power to do such a thing. It can ONLY be loaded by traditional means, meaning that teamsters have to load the freighter with material, it can't simply generate it or steal it from nothing. World Devastators were super weapons not because they could make stuff endlessly, but because they destroyed entire celestial bodies.
  12. Lots of Droids
    1. Self constructing armament / droid factories already exist, and are not considered super weapons. This ship, if used as a factory, would be less efficient than a number of canon options, such as this. While a concern, it simply isn't a super factory, its simply a super transport.
I hope that covers most of the concerns addressed thus far, but if any further are there I am welcome to make changes or have an open dialogue about them.

These all look good to me, apart from the Mon Calamari shipyards contract. While I see the contract you have written was liked by Reshmar could you get a post or discord message from him agreeing to the terms?

Template

Could you please adjust the submission to bring it in line with the current template, in particular the inclusion of the Market Status field.

Ratings

Currently, your ratings stand as follows:

FieldRatingPoints
ProductionSemi-unique3
ArmamentNone3
DefencesExtreme-3
Hangar SpaceAverage0
Maneuverability Low1
SpeedExtreme-3
Total1

As you can see you are one rating under-powered. I'm happy to approve the submission as it is, however if you wish you can adjust the submission to bump it up by one rating. Please let me know what you want to do.,
As an additional point, hyperdrives make no impact on the balance of a submission, no matter how fast or slow they are.

Defensive Weapons

A civilian ship is allowed these weapons, just not offensive weapons that can damage another ship, if you want to add them in please go ahead.
Please tag me back when you have looked through my notes and made any changes that you want to.
