SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Gravity Well Generator Point Defense
  • Missile Battery w/ Smart Tracking
Strengths:
  • Technologic Vong -
Adapting the legendary technology utilized by the biological empire known as the 'Vong', each 'Gos Karza' is capable of producing short range singularities capable of acting as point defense for a number of offensive weapons. From Proton torpedoes to concussion missiles; acting as one of the most advanced protections possible from close diving fighters, bombers, and enemy projectiles.

[*]Smell of Napalm -
  • Capable of clouding the skies with swarms of smart missiles, each capable of tracing and running down enemy fighters. In true fashion, this emplacement is as defensive as defensive gets; protecting its vessel from all manner of enemy squadron attachments

Weaknesses:
  • No Offensive Capabilities -
Although powerful, the lack of range and heavy firepower forces the emplacements to be utilized as high grade point defense; being completely focused on anti-fighter and anti-bomber set ups. Nothing this carries is capable of harming anything larger than small escorts and non-capital grade ships outside of ramming range, and by that point there are a number of other issues the vessel is going to be facing.

[*]Lost The Duel -
  • When the micro-black hole is generated, each turret must take a moment to recuperate before being able to do so again. This can be anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds, and leaves a massive opening for anything to get through. Traditionally, a point defense would focus on fire rate and numbers to compensate; but the "Gos Karza" focuses instead on outright decimation than skillful deflection, forcing the defense computer operating the device to 'pick and choose' priority projectiles to stop.

[*]No More? -
  • Although each missile is accurate, and each payload is pure; there is the glaring issue of ammunition and reload speeds. While the gravitational generator itself takes time to fire, recharge, then fire again; the missile system suffers from a limited amount of attrition capabilities. Should an enemy fleet simply outnumber the amount of missiles aboard the vessel, there would be no stopping them from overpowering this experimental emplacement.

DESCRIPTION
Once in the galaxy, an outside biological empire known simply as the Vong came forth from the darkness and laid waste to much of the galaxy, with differentiated types of weapons far from our own and a lack of any reasonability in terms of war. They used their own bodies, breed their ships and ammunition, and left everything to the world of eugenics. Although they eventually admitted defeat, their new take on warfare would not soon be forgotten by the masses; even after the Zero Plague took down much of the galaxy as we knew it.

Today, Jaeger Solutions moves to create the technological equivalent of what the Vong once did through the ‘Dovin Basal’; a gravity altering creature that once made up much of the Vong’s naval presence. Creating micro-black holes from the gravitational waves that surrounded everything, each was able to absorb lasers, proton torpedos, and even concussion missiles with the correct timing. This made them exceptionally hard to fight at the time, and their technologic equivalent seeks to match this in as many directions as possible.

First, utilizing the notable gravity systems already capable on today's market in the forms of interdictors and more, Jaeger Solutions militarized much of this to better allow strong singular alterations of the gravity force that controlled almost everything. After months of testing, they finally achieved what could now be considered a working prototype, the so called first ‘Gos Karza’.

Notably, the ‘Gos Karza’ was able to replicate the Dovin Basal in effectiveness, but lacked its range. While the Vong once used the creatures to tear down deflector shields with ease, the technology used to duplicate their uncanny ability is only able to stretch only a few dozen meters; and by no means able to tear down other ships defensive capacity. These were torn away from the world of ‘offensive weapons’ and instead created to defend ships; from fighter squadrons and projectiles of all sorts.

Each emplacement is armed with two individual projectors, able to fire once individually every 5 to 10 seconds depending on how large of a projectile it just helps to absorb. While absolute, it suffers exceptionally from this gap in its shots; making its effectiveness compared to traditional point defense debatable at best, but one Jaeger supports fully. Field testing shows a 98.5% accuracy rate as far as successful shots are concerned, and all missed shots were simply never accounted for.

Secondly, to ensure an even better capacity to defend itself; a series of missile launch tubes were put between the two gravity generators. Each are capable of sending out swarms of rockets, with the major limitation that they neither carry the payload to strike down enemy capital ships, and the lack thereof. While a singular missile is no guarantee to take down a fighter, any more than two can often be considered wasteful considering the time involved to load another series of rockets into the self loaders.

Suffice to say, while Jaeger helped to create the ultimate in point defense, there is much to be desired in just how effective it truly is. Jaeger seemed so focused on the ‘could they’ that they didn’t consider the ‘should they’ of it all, and the galaxy is left with a rampant piece of technology left to the masses.

Battlefield as an effective range means that, when fired, it is capable of reaching any point on the battlefield with some degree of accuracy (thus effective in effective range). Given your description, I would suggest making this Average, as it best fits how you're intending to use this.

So this is capable of acting like Dovin Basals for missiles and other forms of projectiles, how does this impact starfighters and other small craft? I feel it is obligatory, on my part, to inform you that the inhibition fields you've mentioned were used on individuals, not ships, for prison confinement.

I suppose its possible that if an enemy had brought their ship close enough, the singularities could target them. Anti bombing runs, I suppose.

Also, didn't realize. I'll edit that off.
