  • Intent: To create a formidable battlecruiser that Srina Talon can utilize both for herself and to reward the Mandalorian Empire for honoring their agreement to remain on retainer if she requires their services. Inspired by the Locum Pacis she has decided to take the "Otherdrive" capability given to the Iron Eidolon and creatively push it a half-step further.

  • Hangars and Crew Living Areas:
    • Every sector of the ship contains essential living and support spaces for personnel. Each area includes crew quarters and a fully equipped mess hall for dining, social interactions, and the occasional bar fight. Between every two sectors, there is also a combined training area, weight room, and recreational space to give a rowdy crew a place to blow off some steam and decompress during off-duty hours.
  • Mess Hall:
    • A large communal dining area where meals are prepped and served. It has the latest in auto-galley technology for the culinary impaired, although all are welcome to prepare their meals as they see fit. There is also access to hydroponic farms for fresh produce to ensure that proper nutrition is provided for the wars to come. This area also doubles as another social hub for off-duty personnel, and there is a steady stream of ne'tra gal (the good stuff) for after-hours entertainment.
  • Crew Quarters:
    • Standard accommodations are designed to house six crew members per unit. Each unit features a shared bathroom and a small kitchenette for preparing light meals or drinks. Lady Talon has thoughtfully rounded off most of the corners and sharp edges to keep the naturally rambunctious Mandalorian personnel from injuring themselves during travel or friendly fisticuffs.
  • Recreational Areas:
    • Strategically located gyms, break rooms, and communal lounges provide space for exercise, relaxation, and informal gatherings, helping to maintain morale and fitness during long missions. The fact that there are so many areas dedicated to exercise is clearly influenced by Lady Talon's Echani background.
  • Officer's Quarters:
    • These living spaces are distributed across three main sections of the ship. These quarters are more spacious than those of the enlisted crew, designed as self-contained mini-apartments. Each unit includes a private lounge area, a separate bedroom, and an attached bathroom, offering privacy and comfort suitable for senior staff and VIP passengers.
  • Captain's Quarters:
    • The captain enjoys the largest and most well-appointed living space aboard. This suite functions as both a residence and a command retreat, featuring a private bedroom, full bathroom, formal dining room, and a combined sitting room and office area. A protocol droid, as well as an attached pantry or kitchen, ensures the captain's needs are met promptly and discreetly.
  • Droid Facilities:
    • This ship maintains a complement of engineering and repair droids strategically stored throughout its decks to perform routine maintenance and respond rapidly to damage control needs.
      • Repair Workshops: Fully outfitted areas where droids and crew can carry out maintenance or fabrication tasks.
      • Droid Storage: Secure bays for stowing inactive or standby droids when not in use.
  • Internal Defenses and Security:
    • A contingent of specialized droids and automated protocols primarily handles this ship's security.
      • Surveillance and Sensors: A comprehensive network, tied to the ship's AI, allows droids to monitor movements and activity throughout the vessel.
      • Retractable Blaster Turrets: Automated defensive emplacements protect sensitive locations, including the bridge, engineering sections, armories, the Combat Information Center (CIC), and hangars.
      • Hidden Protections: Within the walls of the ship, there are deactivated Millicreep Droids that can be unleashed on intruders with the Captain's order.
      • Turadium Blast Doors: Heavy, reinforced doors capable of sealing off sections of the ship to contain intruders, fires, or atmospheric breaches.
  • Detention and Other Facilities:
    • Positioned near the hangars, this section serves as the operational hub for droids and crew. Its proximity allows for rapid deployment off the ship or swift defense during boarding scenarios. Facilities Include:
      • Weapon Range: For live-fire training and weapons proficiency.
      • Weapon and Armor Workshops: Where maintenance and customization can be performed.
      • Primary Armory: The bulk of the ship's weapons and armor inventory.
      • Secondary Armories: Placed in strategic locations to ensure quick access to arms during emergencies.
      • Detention Zone: A place to house and restrict prisoners.
      • Science Bay: A place to analyze foreign samples and safely contain any biological threats.
      • AI Server Farm: Located in a secure area not far from Engineering.
  • Capacitor Drains (Cap Drains):
Integrated systems designed to manage or neutralize power surges or unauthorized energy usage in critical ship systems. They can negate the effects of Conner nets or EMPs.
  • Engineering:
    • Hyperdrive:
      • HS-10 "Hermes" Class Hyperdrive
      • There are runes alchemically carved into the hull of the ship (and other areas) that have been empowered by Srina Talon Srina Talon to allow the ship to travel through the Netherworld and make swift entrances to places in real space that may otherwise be hard to get to. It also passively amplifies the hyperdrive to shorten travel time.
  • Power Generation and Management Systems:
  • Engines:
  • Life Support Systems:
  • Command and Control:
    • Bridge: Positioned at the heart of the vessel, the bridge is heavily reinforced to ensure maximum protection from enemy attacks. Immediately adjacent to it lies the captain's private office, a dedicated space for handling administrative duties, mission planning, and confidential meetings.
    • Combat Information Center (CIC) / Auxiliary Bridge: Situated toward the forward section of the ship, the Combat Information Center (CIC) serves as a hub for data collection and analysis. In the event of an emergency, it can seamlessly transition into a fully functional command center to maintain operational control. An adjoining office provides the ship's executive officer with a secure workspace for oversight and coordination. The Mandalorians may or may not convert this space to a back-door bantha betting ring during times when there are no critical missions. Everyone needs entertainment.
  • Med Bay:
    • Positioned midway between the engineering section and the hangars, the medbay is the domain of the ship's medical staff, led by the chief doctor. It serves as an area for diagnosing and treating injuries, illnesses, and emergencies among the crew.
      • Infirmary: A general treatment area where most crew members receive care for minor injuries, routine check-ups, and common ailments. This space is designed for efficiency, ensuring quick medical attention for everyday needs, such as remedies for a hangover.
      • Surgical Suite: Specialized, self-contained rooms equipped for serious injuries, surgical procedures, or high-risk medical interventions. These areas can be sealed to prevent contamination and also function as quarantine areas when required. Bacta tanks can be found here for swift recovery solutions.
      • Office Area: A private workspace for the ship's chief doctor, providing a place to handle medical records, reports, and administrative duties while maintaining a direct line of sight to the infirmary and patients under care.

  • Clockwork Titan: Like many other vessels that Locke and Key have had a hand in producing, the Iron Eidolon is a marvel of automation. It depends on the Aesir System and an extensive complement of droids to handle most operational tasks, enabling the ship to function with minimal crew on board.
  • Aegis and Anvil: Forged for the heart of battle, some say it isn't just a warship, but a moving fortress. Conceived as a front-line battle cruiser, it thrives on the chaos of fleet engagements and stands as a symbol of raw power. Layer upon layer of shimmering shields embrace a hull of near-mythic strength, allowing it to shrug off punishment that would shatter ordinary vessels.
  • The Infinite Bite: Armed with a formidable arsenal, this ship carries everything from a massive spinal-mounted cannon to an array of long and close-range weapons. This flexible armament allows it to engage hostile forces at any distance, perfectly suited to a slow, advancing battle line that dominates the approach to combat.
  • Gravitas Drift: Because of the gravitational technology found within the Huabing engines, the Iron Eidolon moves with unmatched agility for its size. It can thrust forward or backward and even sidestep laterally with equal precision, confounding enemy targeting and opening new tactical options.
  • Citadel Core: This ship is more or less a chain of self-contained bastions. Each segment is wrapped in turadium bulkheads and linked by doors that can snap shut in an instant, isolating damage and intruders before they spread. Mandalorian Steel lines the internal walls for added benefit. This compartmentalized approach turns the ship into a floating fortress, preserving both hull integrity and crew survival in even the most dire of circumstances.
  • Umbral Crossing: Powerful runes etched along the hull of the ship have been empowered by Srina Talon Srina Talon to open a temporary and localized nether-rift that can pull the vessel from realspace into the shadowed realm of the Nether. This allows it to travel relatively undetected, bypassing normal sensors, while the runes stabilize the ship's structure and protect it from the Nether's distortive effects. This secretive capability makes the Iron Eidolon a phantom on the battlefield, appearing and striking where it is least expected.
sqzr9eO.png

  • Technology-Reliant: Because of its deep reliance on automation and technology, the ship operates with a very small human crew complement. If the Aesir System or its droid workforce is compromised, there may not be enough hands on deck to manage critical systems manually.
  • Iron Turtle: No one pretends that this ship is terribly fast. It can maneuver in small spaces because of the Huabing engines, but pilots joke that it turns like a moon and accelerates like a glacier. It will soak up damage and get the crew where they need to be, but it will never be used for something like the Kessel Run.
  • Ghost Breaker: The rune network that allows the ship to slip into the Nether is not infallible. Hull breaches can fracture the inscriptions and cut off the ship's spectral transit until repairs are made. Even when intact, the runes cannot completely shield the vessel from strange phenomena and creatures that lurk in the Nether.
  • Blind Spots: Its sprawling hull and modular sections create small sensor "dead zones" along the flanks where external arrays overlap imperfectly. Skilled adversaries or stealthy craft can sometimes exploit these gaps to get closer than expected.
  • Maintenance Magnet: Automation and modularity come at the cost of complexity. This ship requires frequent upkeep of its droid workforce, gravitic engines, and arrays. Prolonged operations far from support risk a gradual decline in performance until a proper refit is possible.
  • Nether Madness: When the spectral travel is activated, the runes can occasionally affect passengers, which may make them more aggressive than usual.
  • Queenbound: If Srina Talon dies, the runes she has carved into the Iron Eidolon will become inert and can no longer be activated.

It was not sentiment that brought these warships to life.

It was intent—It was necessity.

The orbital drydock above Concordia gleamed like a durasteel crown against the planet's surface, no longer marred by war, or the terrors inflicted by the failures of former Mand'alors whose names she refused to speak. To mention them would lend legitimacy they did not deserve, risking memorializing their short and meaningless reigns. That...The pale Dread Queen would not abide. Regardless, this was a new era. With that in mind, Srina found herself working alongside the shipwrights of the Mandalorian Empire to create something they had never seen before. Engineers from Jaeger and Locke & Key moved about the yard, checking system after system, ensuring every component was compatible. The pale-skinned Echani slowly walked the length of the half-built Iron Eidolon-class battlecruiser, taking stock of what had been accomplished.

It was quite the sight, impossible, for her to traverse the whole of it.

The turadium plating beneath her boots was still warm from the welding torches, its quality evident in how the material resisted scorching under such heat. Each plate bore faint, iridescent etchings visible only from the right angle—geometric, cleverly disguised, cut by her own hand rather than stamped by a machine. Months of labor were etched into those lines, and her work was not yet finished. The hull still awaited the same treatment, and her hands already bore the signs of that hard labor. She drew in a breath, tasting ozone and alchemical dust—the mingling of technological prowess with something older, stranger, and unknown.

This vessel was not a gift.

It was a tool.

Her inspiration had come before the battle on Brosi, drawn from the infamous flagship of Darth Caedes Darth Caedes , the Locum Pacis. She could not duplicate its exact systems nor match its full power, but she could evoke a similar effect. The challenge lay in minimizing the presence of certain elements so the Mandalorians she built it for would not shy away. She hid her might in the bones of the metal beast while using creature comforts as a smokescreen. Full bars, plenty of high-grade black ale. Firepower. They remained notoriously distrustful of Force-sensitives, even as they revered the Manda...Yet the galaxy was changing. If they were to serve as her instruments, her weapons of war, they would need to be equipped for every eventuality if they wished to survive.

Not everything could be solved with a hard head and a slugthrower.

Each keel was laid at her order, prefabricated modules ferried from Locke & Key's factories to Concordia's shipyards. Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean had long ago given her free rein to utilize Jaeger's assets, and its hyperdrive was proving perfect for this project. His support systems were also critical so that the ship might withstand the extensive power drain. She had chosen this approach deliberately. If the Mandalorians were truly the warriors Aether Verd claimed them to be, they deserved a cruiser that did not die as one ship, but fought on as a thousand fortresses. Layered shields, Mandalorian steel inner walls, turadium blast doors, and automated damage control droids meant every section could stand alone even if the hull were breached.

Her left forefinger traced one of the runes as she passed, gold-hewn orbs following sharp edges that she had memorized, nodding, when it seemed to resonate. These sigils were older than the First Republic and certainly older than any Sith Order. She had found them in the tombs of Korriban, and while it had taken time to understand them..She knew now. She understood, now. The hidden truth. Once reshaped for her purposes and activated by her touch, they would be able to open a path into the Nether—a realm of currents and shadows beyond the reach of traditional sensors. But everything had to be exact. A misdrawn rune and the rift would collapse too soon, perhaps cutting the ship in half. Mandalorian captains inspecting the build had already started calling this model "the Ghost," though she had never spoken that moniker aloud. She simply carved, empowered, and bound the runes to the vessel until the hull seemed to hum with barely restrained power.

Once, not so long ago, she would never have considered building anything to aid a Mandalorian. Not for any reason.

The history she shared with them was written in blood and the orbital bombardment of her homeworld. She had lived through years of quiet hatred, ignoring brittle bids for a truce with such graceful contempt that she had seemed almost their angel of darkness. The constant and enduring sentiment of "no Mandalorian being a civilian" had made every one of them culpable, from birth to death. They were inelegant beasts, somehow, thriving with nothing...

But time and war broke her patterns.

Turned her thoughts.

Aether Verd Aether Verd now led the Clans of Mandalore.

It changed things, which was a feat all on its own because her will was ironically...Iron. Srina had helped raise him, shaping a new breed of Mandalorian in an Echani mold. He was the son of her Master, her godson, and he had returned trust where others squandered it. In him, she saw not an enemy but potential—a chance for the galaxy to learn that these Mandalorians were not the same as those who had terrorized it with their weakness and general stupidity decades prior. Aether had not bombed her home from the sky.

He had not even been born yet.

If she truly possessed the rational mind the Sith Order attributed to her, how could she blame a boy for crimes committed long before he had drawn breath? Why?

She would let him stand on his word that his people had changed. She would keep them on retainer and allow them to live, perhaps even flourish, if they proved Aether's claims true. She would teach, she would provide, and thus this ship existed. And many more would follow. Those who worked under her name would do so with nothing less than the best.

They would find that the Iron Eidolon was both blade and bastion...There were so many features that it would take time and training to discover how to utilize these pieces of equipment to their utmost. The Aesir System and repair droids would allow a skeleton crew to wage war. Its gravitic Huabing engines would let it advance, retreat, or slip laterally in formation. Layered shields would drain power swiftly when absorbing damage, but they would buy time for Mandalorian warriors to launch boarding parties or dig in on contested worlds. Every aspect of its design rewarded hard work and loyalty, encouraging improvement, and thus making this generation of Mandalorian Sons and Daughters far more difficult to kill.

Srina paused at the bow, where the last of the turadium plates met the dark of space. It was endless. Below her...Concordia turned slowly, healed, and green again. Hawkish eyes burned while she summoned the strength to press the final sigil into the plating. It flared, binding itself to the whole, and for the briefest moment, her vision flickered, and she could see the totality of the ghost-path that would open. This vessel would glide through the smog of the Nether as if it were little more than a tranquil sea and carry these Manda-born younglings through the depths of hell. It would be a risk. Everytime, they activated the ghost-path...It would be a risk.

But without risk...There could be no reward.

"This stage is complete....Let us begin annointing the hull as soon as possible."

The engineers who passively watched her work nodded and began to give directives to push forward. Some, thought she had lost her mind. Surely a vessel subjected to the pressures of moving through a shifting reality would tear itself apart. Surely, it was a fool's errand. Srina pretended not to hear them and merely continued her work. She would not weaken her intention by bowing to the fears of men who couldn't understand the art. They wished for caution, for half-measures, but the Echani warrior knew nothing of that concept.

Srina never did anything halfway.

This is a beautiful submission. I love the intricate details down to the mess halls! The two things I have to mention for this beauty is for the Turadium Blast Doors, you misspelled Turadium! And I had a question about the runes on the otherdrive, how they interact under force nullification!

Thank you!

I fixed my wee typo, apologies, but as to your question... It depends.

I didn't include it as a direct weakness, firstly because it's not a Factory Rule to do so. More importantly, though, it's a 5000m ship that would need to be nullified, and that sort of zone being readily available doesn't seem too common. It would also depend on the strength of the nullification and the timing of when it gets used or activated.

Examples:

If it activates on the ship while it's already traveling, it could toss them out of the Nether back into real space.
If a small piece of void-stone gets brought on board, it could make the runes longer to activate, or make the travel distance shorter, or even force the ship in and out of realspace and the nether so much that the ship takes damage.

I thought it would be cool to leave the mystical effects up to the writers.

If they do write it out that it disables the runes, the ship would still work, just without the ability to "travel" via the nether until circumstances changed. The runes aren't on the "Otherdrive", they're built into the hull and the plating.
