END OF THE WORLD
His violent discharge from the sonic pistol was enough to stave off one of the padawans, enough to shift his focus nigh solely on the other as he witnessed the gruesome bellow of gore that emerged from the sonic blast's impact onto Masudo's limb. His violent retort to draw a fatal wound from the other was stamped out by the tandem with an ethereally posessed grip clasping around his wrist and the vambrace from which the blade he sought the end of the other emerged in hissing doom.

The first few layers were pierced with ease by the blade and he could feel the tip of his weapon make purchase in her flesh before it was reeled back by their force imbued will. His eyes narrowed in anguish of the defiance they continuially drove in resistance to his drive to end it. To draw an end to these blind fools and draw his attention to his men, his troopers barely strewing together their own defense and attempt to seize an exit from this doomed cavern beneath a doomed world.

He sought one final drive of murderous determination when she spoke up to him.

“I would have your name, seeing as we’ve dispensed with any propriety or pretense,”

His eyes opened widely to that veiled request. His name. To Kriegan, few things held more value to him than his name. Under no other circumstances would he ever bare the hubris to spout it out. But here, now.

<"Tavlar."> He said before he offered up a groan of defiance once more before reeling his helmeted head back to slam it against her temple as he sought to drive the blade into her flesh all at the same time. He would not so easily turn or kneel from this encounter. He would end it. On his terms.

The pirate instinctively coiled when explosions thundered behind him. Flames rose from the Balac as chunks of its hull began to break and collapse into space, along with what remained of its skeleton crew. Another batch of good-for-nothing goons swallowed by space.
"A Forcie."

A heinous voice came from behind the carbine-wielding Mandalorian's back. The base creature scurried forth on its gnarly legs, its small frame slinking through the battle finding victims for its well-sharpened shiv. A moment later, it raised a crooked finger at the dar'manda.
"Beat him to death, Mando!"

It wasn't hard to notice the force user among the Mandalorians protecting the ship. Calmly strolling across the field of battle with an electro staff in hand. A few years ago, he'd puked at the sight of a force user among his kin; Ra Vizsla had the right treatment for those. But today? His Mandalorian soul had been long lost to be bothered.

"How about you do it, you creature?" he called out at the Imperial enforcer before lifting his vambrace up at the Forcie Mandalorian and showering the Kel'Dor with unnaturally rapid fire.

Not long after she separated from Korvan to look for Rakaan, Valery felt their presences grow close together, and the emotions that began to bleed out into the Force confirmed what she had hoped would happen. As quickly as she could, she moved back through the tunnels, until she reached the corridor where Rakaan and Korvan stood with their arms around each other. Knowing this was a special and important moment for them, Valery kept her distance and watched with a soft smile.

He really was back.

But as he withdrew from his Master and placed his hands on his shoulders, he also spoke of something that needed to be done. It was at that moment Valery felt an echo of the other battle as well — the one between Dagon and Sahar — and realized that something terrible was happening there. However, she made no move to interfere and watched Rakaan move passed her to head in their direction instead. The Force had brought all of them together today for a reason, and she felt this was how it was meant to be.

So rather than following after him immediately, she turned to Korvan and dipped her head,
"That was a promise he's going to make sure he won't break," she said as she waited for the other Master to join her, so they could at least leave the tunnels. At this point, it was impossible not to smile at least a little — this was the moment they had been working towards, after all. As difficult as it had been, they were able to connect with the man he really was, and now they'd make sure they could bring him back home safe.

"Thank you for letting me join you to help with this, Master Toldreyn," Valery added with a warm and grateful smile once he caught up.

Cale would admit, he hadn't been expecting them to dogpile onto him. One caught him with a tackle into an embankment, another secured his arm, whilst a different trooper slipped a blade between the gaps of his light armor, once, twice, three times, with each stab another trooper added their weight to the others. Blood fell, and pain shot through him, they were brave men if nothing else, it was a shame what would follow.

He let out a defiant bellow, and focused in, drawing in energy, and expelling it out before the knife could go in again. Kinetic energy threw them back, and the fight began anew. The one with the blade lunged first, Cale's ethereal limb manifesting and striking him in the stomach with enough force to make the man empty its contents and a helping of blood into his own sealed helmet. Two more lunged, the first caught a kinetic fist to his chestplate that cracked it and the ribs beneath, the other attempted to grapple with the Jedi, but the more experienced warrior slipped free, and planted a heavy kick at the man's knee, snapping it forcefully into a direction it was not meant to go.

None of them balked, not even for a second, he didn't sense fear in them, only duty, only rage. The next came, only to be stunned by the first strike, while the last of the troopers jumped to his aid. Cale struck him first in the stomach, then across the jaw, before kicking him back, grabbing his comrade and swiftly snapping his neck. The final trooper roared something unintelligible to the men already injured, rousing them, and charged.

A strike, a grab, a twist, snap. He fell. A strike, a grab, a twist, snap. Another. A strike, a grab, a twist, snap. Their numbers dwindled to one, the man whose knee was so broken he could not force it to let him stand. Cale gave him a moment, and their gazes met from behind the mirrored glass of helmet and goggles. He made the offer to surrender wordlessly, and the Imperial answered by drawing his knife. What a waste of brave soldiers. But what else was war?

The saber came to life and cut down the trooper mid-desperate lung, and he went still. Cale's saber returned to his side, and pain made itself known as he stooped down to grab one of the trooper's pistols. It was maddening, but he kept going. Then he too joined the remaining marines and opened fire on the Imperials. He just needed a moment to find his strength, then he'd join Aleks, and they'd end this.

The fleet began its advance through the field of debris, the frigates clearing space ahead of the bigger ships. Gallius was briefly struck with regret when he realised he could have used the same tactic as he did on Orinackra. Here, he was simply leaping into the unknown, trying to catch an enemy he knew he had to take alive.

With a stroke on his datapad, he trashed the battle suggestion he had been drafting for a few minutes, and opened his comm to Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan . The Grand Moff had been directing the flow of battle with mastery, but his fleet was under heavy attack and some of his ships had already sustained tremendous damage. The security parameters regarding the superweapon were getting dangerous now, and the main fleet would need some help if it was to endure.

As such, Gallius tasked his own group of Onager IIs to join the main fleet and provide additional firepower, relieving some of the pressure suffered by Korvan's fleet.
N5cG5gd.png
He refocused on the task at hand: finding Oliva and capturing him. The orders were perfectly clear, and the Admiral would not accept less than full victory from himself and his men. It was feasible, especially if…

"Constantine… there's no point in hiding! You know I'll find your ship, and even if I don't, the superweapon will make short work of you."

Orcana was not the kind of man to taunt an adversary. He preferred to grab them by the throat and rip their heart off, while they were forced to listen to stereo records of cries and screams of terror. But he also knew he could not threaten Constantine in fighting him. The fleets were too uneven, and his opponent would prefer to ambush him over and over again.

Gallius then reached to his second-in-command, Jax, through the comlink, and gave him latitude to commandeer the fleet:

"Jax, you have the bridge for you. I'll try and get our target through psychological means while you…"

A sudden noise interrupted the communication, and the Admiral jumped to the viewscreen, only to see a frigate disappear in a cloud of dust. Oliva had struck his first blow, and it hit hard.

"Change of plans, Jax. Gather the battlegroup around the lead-ship and use our Mawite treat to clear space ahead of us. We'll have to see clearly if we want to find that damn Anaxsi… and I don't want to lose one more ship, is that clear?"

There was a short 'Aye' at the other end of the comlink, then it was shut down, and Gallius left Jax to his own devices.

The vessels regrouped as bombers began to scramble and scout the field of debris, leaving behind them a trail of sonic mines to trap the enemy ships. Either the debris would become too numerous to properly navigate through, either the enemy ships would jump on them unknowingly, and make their presence known.

"This is my last warning, Constantine! You can still avoid a futile bloodbath. The Empire stands its ground on Ilum, there's nothing you can do about it. Show yourself at once!"

The ache in her knee and the numbness of her foot were growing more and more inconvenient. Her comms were alive with orders being passed through Tortuga company, status updates with fewer voices than she was used to hearing.

Her heart burned, roiling in contempt for the present.

Through ragged breaths and extreme strain, debris still blistered through her shield. The arc of energy doing what it could, but insufficiently, to reduce the impact on the planet. There was only a brief moment of personal victory when it appeared her opponent had disappeared from view. Assumptively, crushed.

Good, then she could get back to Gabe and Sion.

The air went tight, silent. Fear atomized in a clean line that shot from the darkness of the sky. Before Osarla could react, the mystical Bendu intervened with its divine protection.

She released a breath she didn't know she'd been holding, stretched her shoulders, and made a gesture to hurl all the debris she'd managed to suspend in the direction of the drill.

Her promise to the Pryce family burned in her chest, and she mutely turned toward the caverns.

Behind her, fizzing and popping and a gruesome display of synth flesh and metal, her opponent re-emerged. Without their helmet and half their face, they were a terrible sight.

Plans? Organics?

Osarla's desire to put this machine down into a silhouette of sparks burned in her belly, imbued her muscles and ignored the numbness in her knee and foot.

But her need to protect doused it. Kept the warriors flame contained before it erupted to a mindless inferno.

Protection was more important. That's what she told the boys.

<You're really messing up my plans too, lady.> Osarla growled, and kept a tight grip on her sabre which she used to point to the caverns. <I don't know what you're doing here, but there are children trapped in those caves that need to be rescued.>

Internally, she resolved this was the last offer she'd extend to the machine. Given she just realized there was no humanity in the shell of the snowy terminatrix, it was a low chance.

But a chance nonetheless.

<Can you help with that? Seein' as the planets intent on stopping whatever other scheme you had going on.>

Exhaling her frustration as she clashed blades again and again, locked in furious battle, Sahar pushed until she could launch the kick that sent Dagon flying on his back. She knew he was strong, very much so, and had only gotten better since the war, but she had gotten better too, and it seemed Dagon had let his guard down. Sahar was not the same quiet damaged orphan who had been scooped up in the order's arms; she had been nurtured by war and suffering and the teachings of Fel, elevating her far beyond the petty whims of Dagons beliefs. She was ascendent; above all, she was the avatar of the dead Emperor's will, and she'd see it through to the end to win and secure Ruriks legacy.

"I seem to recall you enjoying the distraction."- Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze

Again with the words, the stupid little comments that the fool thought would get to her, no it would not and it would not slow her down either. She was gonna take his severed head and present it before the Imperial throne as an offering, and then she'd prove her worth and be rid of this man forever.

"You could've been better than this, Sahar."- Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze

There it was again, she ignored him entirely and, with cold resolve, pushed harder in her attack, bringing herself ever closer to him as Dagon's defence proved not as iron as it initially had been as each kick, slash and push broke through here and there.

She felt a twitch of excitement.

Stupid boy.

As the pair locked their sabers again in the clinch, she pulled him closer and closer as their blades burned and the light illuminated both their bloodied faces. Sahar the orphan's smile had a calming effect on people, but the twisted visage Dagon was forced to look upon now was nothing like that. Dark lips curled viciously, vacant evil eyes drinking in his suffering. The woman enjoyed watching the will leave Dagon's eyes as he came to realise what he was dealing with.

She kept him there in that embrace before quickly pulling both their sabers to the side as she grabbed the back of his head with a cold, gloved hand and planted a bloodied kiss on his lips. A call back to the days before, when things were different, now there was no going back. She pulled his head back again by his hair so he could see her clearly, proclaiming with a soft voice.

"I was always the best."

A blade slipped out of her sleeve, and she buried the dagger deep into his sternum as blood sprinkled the clear white snow beneath them.

"My love."

Walking towards the General's position, the man had managed to finally climb out of his creator. Stopping up, upon seeing the songsteel sword, showed so proudly in the light of the sun. It was clear the general had foregone any attempt to exchange shots from afar which actually caught the giant's attention.

Holstering his own blaster, Kragr listened to the wounded man, speaking of past battles, the life lost and warriors taken by the jaws of past wars. Drawing his Warhammer, feeling the heavy but family weight in his hand. With Warhammer in hand, Kragr tilted his head a bit, pacing slowly back and forth, "you speak the life of Imperials like it's some sort of travesty, life lost needlessly" replied Kragr, clearly showing his impatience through the pacing.

"Ha, what a joke you Imperials are. You speak of travesty but justify your own cruelty" spoke Kragr clearly and not even fazed by the blame the general tried to place upon him. "Your people should be happy to have died in battle, at least their death would have had meaning!" Laughed Kragr now, showing his Mandalorian views. Spinning his heavy Warhammer, Kragr had enough talking as he wasn't here to hold a philosophical conversation with a man who apparently saw nothing but travesty over the death of soldiers.

The general could save the philosophical bullsheb for somebody who wanted to listen.

Having heard enough, without giving so much as a hint, Kragr launched himself a burst of speed from his jetpack towards the General's location. Blasting towards the general's position, Kragr would swing the Warhammer with a devastating strike, aiming for a quick victory, however, Kragr doubted it.

PADAWAN OF THE CAPTAIN OF THE TORTUGA COMPANY

ILUM | DRILL SITE | NORTH POINT MINING CHASM

Despite the distress Sion couldn't help but grin back.

"I may be a dumbass sometimes, but I learn quickly." He muttered as he knelt down by her side and took hold of her arm. All gentle, because an arm out the socket was an arm out the socket. There was no world where this wouldn't hurt. "So, when is your birthday?" Sion asked all of a sudden. In her moment of surprise, when she'd go What? he'd quickly jam her arm back into the socket.

All professional.

Like this wasn't the first time he had to do it. Then he poured in some healing into her, mending her scraps and bruises, luckily Kovacs was in a better state now than before.

"Listen, I am here to help my Master's friend, another Padawan. He's-" Sion grimaced as the pain flared up from that empath feeling. Gabriel wasn't doing well and he could sense it. The duel was fast progressing. Hell, he could hear them, now that he was focused in that direction. "-we need to go, if you can help... please. If not? I understand."

Sion would help her up but then refocus himself to the task his Master gave him.

It wasn't difficult to find the scene of their battle. They were doing their best to kill each other.

"Now you will die down here along with your pathetic friend who couldn't beat a blind bantha in combat." Was the only line Sion got from Vethres' attempt to break down Pryce both physically as well as mentally. He set his jaw and unclipped his lightsaber once more, igniting it without hesitation.

"You are too confident by half, Imperial. I recall a time the New Imperial Order was wrecking a Sith Empire with a quarter of their numbers... to see you reduced to hurting Padawans on a world nowhere near your territory? Oh, how the mighty have fallen."

Sion stepped up to the plate and watched for an opening. The moment Vethres gave him one? He'd strike immediately.

This wasn't over yet.

Fett spun wildly, even after some brief stabilisation, and letting loose Arenais. Sent to careen off wherever that may be, into a wall or a TIE. Hardly mattered to him, long as the two were no longer connected.

"Oh shii-" Caedyn yelled as the Bounty Hunter Koda Fett Koda Fett used his jetpack to throw them both into a rapid and violent spin. The Jedi Knight felt the weight of his legs lifting up behind him, pulling him away while his one good arm struggled to hang on. His stomach felt as though it was working against him, running to his feet as the sudden shift in gravity caused it to lurch and with his left shoulder still injured, he was forced to let go.

From the ground below, Caltin Vanagor and Varm Nul would both see the body of the Jedi Knight launched afar. Caedyn tumbled through the air, hurtling towards the cold hard Hangar floor. He collided with it, landing on the same dislocated shoulder and left side of his head first before the rest of his body caught up and sent him barreling into a sideways roll across the ground some meters before he would eventually come to a halt.

He was still alive, that much would be clear from the mixture of gasps for air and coughing that first came from the Knight. His hands grasped for anything tangible as he tried to pick himself up but his body initially failed him. Pain and disorientation wreaked havoc on both his mind and physical self, and while he could hear the fighting still ongoing, he struggled to bring himself together in the first few moments after the hard landing.

"Farkled son'uva schutta" Caedyn swore loudly, prying himself back onto his knees and looking to his left shoulder. Everything hurt, but it was the dislocated shoulder that would impair him the most. His right hand took to his forearm, fingers taking a firm hold and raising his left outright and straight. Pain shot through him like a hot knife, and his teeth clenched as he gave a blend of a growl and groan passed between them upon a heated breath.

There was no time to waste. The longer this took, the worse off his friends were.

Caedyn pulled his left wrist further away from his shoulder, his joints feeling as though they loosened and grew unnaturally farther apart from each other while his shoulder made a gross shift in movement. It snapped back between the shoulder blade and bicep before being released to all fall back into place with an audible pop.

"Argh....-Shavit all" He muttered, wincing as his body protested the further assault on his senses.

His eyes searched the floor of his surroundings. His right hand soon extended out, fingers outstretched as he called for his Lightsabers to return to him. Focusing on the crystals within, attuned to his very signature in the force, Caedyn connected with both and drew them in using telekinesis to save himself the frustration of wasting any further time.

Varm and Caltin continued to face off against one another, first in Caedyn's line of sight now that he was back on solid ground. He quickly brought the two hilts to lock into place, once more forming the lightsaber staff in its entirety and triggering the activation. Both bright blue blades of plasma snapped out from either side with a hiss of power and continuous thrum as the Jedi Knight carried the weapon in his right hand. His left arm, though still sore and feeling all too vulnerable, reached out in Varm Nul Varm Nul 's direction and using the Force, Caedyn tried to yank the Bounty Hunter's blasters from him in order to give Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor the chance to close in on his opponent.

Summary:

  • Caedyn was thrown by Koda Fett, landing hard on the Hangar Floor.
  • The Jedi Knight proceeds to reset his dislocated shoulder, seeking a short time of recovery.
  • Caedyn then proceeds to use telekinesis against Varm Vul in order to disarm the Bounty Hunter.

Objective 1
Allies: The Alliance
Enemies: NIO; Sars Sarad Sars Sarad
Equipment: Armor, lightsaber

--

The sparks licking at her fingertips acted almost as a Force dowsing rod, tingling and burning in response to Sarad's rush forward. Quick footwork would bring the nimble Jedi just out of the range of her opponent's lightsaber, but dodging left her fully open to his aggressive charge.

His shoulder jammed into her thorax, lodged expertly in the intercostal of her lower ribcage with more than enough force to send them both sailing out of the cave as it collapsed into rubble. The act had abruptly cut the electrical assault and given how close they were for a brief handful of moments, Nida took the opportunity to hack blood directly onto Sars.

Nida's vision dimmed as her body tumbled across the embankment of ice chunks and battle debris. The sounds of war had been muffled within the confines of the cave, but now they were out in the open, exposed to the harsh winds of Ilum and the din of combat. There was a lull between her and Sarad while they managed to collect themselves, but Nida's addled mind would instinctively focus on her injuries, not the fight. Her previous fervor had drained away with the lightning from her fingertips and now she laid in the snow, eyes unfocused and slack jawed as her one functioning hand struggled to feel along the ridges and dips of her ribcage.

At least a few ribs were broken, if the way she yelped painfully from her own ministrations was any indication. That cry gave way to a laborious cough, after which she heaved and spat more blood onto the ice.

The good hand dropped from her side, curling tightly into the snow as the only sign of fight from the semi-conscious Zeltron. Somewhere in her head, beneath the layers of static, Nida was aware that Sars had actually saved her by throwing them both out of the cave.

Even if he was going to sell her to the Imperials; she couldn't escape if she was dead.

Allies: The Empire
Enemies: GA; Nida Perl Nida Perl
Equipment: Armor; Duster; Lightsaber; Old Sin

Blurred vision began to clear. Breathing started to steady. He tasted copper in his mouth from where she had spit blood in his face.

Laying there in the ice covered snow Sarad would jerk upright as if jolted by electrical discharge, perhaps a spark left alive in his system after his contact with Nida Perl Nida Perl .

Pain flared to life with him too and the cold of Ilum was more apparent outside of the cave. On his cheek the cut he'd suffered dulled but there was a new pain, a throbbing that reached from beneath his jaw around to the back of his neck and down his shoulder. Blackened flesh from where the electrical judgement of the Zeltron had made its mark on his body. In time bacta might heal it completely but Sarad needed a more immediate solution.

Using the force he would Control the Pain, squelching it until the throb of the electrical burns became as distant as a memory. As his senses returned to normal he found Old Sin in the snow nearby and his lightsaber too, now deactivated sicne the tumble down from the muoth of the cavern.

Standing back up onto his feet, a bit shaky still Sarad would stow the Phase-Knife back on his person, within the confines of the Duster before his gaze veered out across the landscape.

A Mortar Shell erupted nearby causing him to duck his head, he was nowhere within range to have been caught in the blast but the crater it left behind was telling of the damage that could be down. It was then that he saw her, laying in the snow as he had been but seemingly worse off and Sarad would raise his left hand, fashioning it into an open grip and call to her.

The Force Pull would be powerful enough to lift her up off the ground, dragging her to his outstretched hand with feet skimming the surface of the ice if she didn't resist him. Eventually it would deliver her to his waiting hand so that it could take her around the throat, holding her in an upright position...

"It was as I told you, Jedi."

...he said without arrogance, merely purpose....

"The Force has willed it."

...his lightsaber still rest within the grip of his right hand, deactivated but ready to flare to life if she pressed an attack of some form of trickery. Despite feeling he was victorious Sarad had learned long ago never to count an enemy out. It was here, now that Sarad let a bit more slip to her though not with a statement but with an inquiry...

"Who is your Master? Tell me, perhaps the force will lead me to them next."

...he would know before he turned her over to Saul Vandron Saul Vandron . The Battle carried on in the distance, he couldn't tell if the Imperials were winning or losing; it didn't matter at this point.

Enyo could observe the effects of the Bendu's power, though her knowledge of this phenomenon was limited to cursory reading of a Holopedia article a minute or so before being buried. Admittedly she could read and absorb information very fast. Holopedia was not a scholarly source though. Anyone could edit an article.

She might seek to procure more information later, if the mood struck her. Meanwhile, chaos raged in the sky, and the surface was rocked by explosions, littered with debris, corpses and broken machinery. Debris contained to rain down upon the surface, and there were small avalanches. The ground shook.

As she burst from her tomb, the Jedi hurled debris into the direction of the nearest drill, smashing it. With the Cyborg having been knocked out by debris earlier, there was distance between them again, though not a ton. Enyo cocked her head to the side as she watched the Togruta warrior woman. Feeling the tension inside her, and the urge to smite. A Sith might have used the chance to launch into an absurd preach about using her rage.

Enyo didn't. But nor did she show emotion, though it momentarily gave her pause to reflect. Part of her felt the sentiment the Jedi expressed was...familiar, but she buried the thought beneath layers of ice. "You mean Padawans," she said thoughtfully. "They are your young soldiers. Jedi routinely send them to fight and die," she stated matter-of-factly. If they fell, it was meant to be. If they survived, the challenge would have made them stronger. Crossguard lightsabre held in a firm grip, she reached out with the Force, and sought to exert a crushing, telekinetic grip upon the Jedi Master's ribs.

"I- I can feel them. If I concentrate I can feel them. Do you- You have a ship right?" If Amani had a ship, Iris could guide her, right? She clung to the Knight for barely a second more before turning her gaze around. Looking for the two she was with. Jand. Corin. They were still safe. And the chaos around them seemed to simmer down. Did they win? Did they beat that trooper?

The most she could do was hope they were as okay as the colors said they were.

"We can get them all on board sure, but, they're all inside this cave system." She shrugged, looking around at the tunnels which, they too, were currently in. "Unless you're thinking something I'm not, then I don't see what a ship will be able to do until we actually find them all."

Amani nodded, "Works for me." She picked up the pace, heading for the opening of their current tunnel where lo and behold she found one of the kyber haulers, along with an imperial mining droid still slaving away at Ilum's resources. With a simple Force push she threw the droid aside and hopped onto the cargo speeder, where she pressed a button that made it offload the kyber payload. The engine revved a few times before Amani gestured to Iris, "Hop on." It wouldn't be the fastest speeder in the galaxy, but it would be better than just moving on foot.

Once the padawan was on board, they would launch off into the next tunnel, moving through the icy landscape at a much more productive pace, "Just tell me where to go, and I'll take us there." Wherever Iris' senses guided her, they would find her fellow padawans. Meanwhile, Amani's senses were focused on not crashing into anything.

Ariana continued grip against the Force, but it was a rope that threatened to tear through her grip with each passing second. Blood began to pool inside the bottom of her helmet as it trickled down her forehead and cheek. Her concentration strained, her focus assaulted by the pain radiating across her body but perhaps most disastrous were the emotions of near pure hatred committed to death. Ariana had been trained by countless Martial Artists to maintain a sense of calm and collectivism, a steady mind through the eye of the storm. I just can’t anymore.

The rope that Ariana was holding onto through the Force finally snapped, she fell forward with her single arm catching her fall. While not entirely collapsed in a heap of exhausted limbs, the young Du Couteau heir regained her composure slightly with continued focused breathing. One breath, two breath, three breath. . . Ariana chanted the number in her mind to realign herself and slowly she regained her strength in her legs to stand straight back up.

Carefully Ariana steadied herself and concentrated the Force once again, but once strength had been shattered it was even easier for it to break. Any further attempts were like severely sore muscles being asked to move once again, Ariana though gritted her teeth and charged forward with her next attack. Her left arm began to glow, the Force flames produced through convection appeared like white flower petals that fell from all along her left arm and fist. The ember-like white petals disappeared only moments after ‘falling’ from her arm, Ariana tensed herself and urged her legs to keep steady with each step.

Ariana would have wanted to produce such Force flames on all three limbs of her, but necessity demanded only precise allotments of her concentration. She feared if she strained herself any further then that would truly be the end of both the padawan and herself. As she closed the distance Ariana swung with her left fist and aimed directly to the Imperial’s side below the arm with the vibroblade. All or nothing attacks weren’t exactly in her wheelhouse, but desperation in this desolated cavern fit almost perfectly.

Operation Golden Wind
Task Force-667
Stellar Legionnaire Azula Merr

Gear: [x] [x] [x] [x]
Allies: New Imperial Order | Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan , Velran Kilran, Gallius Orcana Gallius Orcana , Hyperion Hyperion , Veno Veno
Enemies: Galactic Alliance | Liedran Kathause, Jadwiga Drozd, Pa'Kar Sang, Caedyn Arenais

The Alliance forces were dwindling, but somehow, their numbers seemed endless. It was a large ship, but their dedication to taking the hangar back was without question. Azula cut through as many as she could , whirling with grace as Khepri's Chains made quick work of her foes.

"Merr! I can't get the door open. We're going to have to move to Plan B!" called out the legionnaire working the door.

"Everyone! Move back to the Valor. I will cover!" Azula ordered.

The Valor landed on the grounds of the hangar, allowing the 667 to retreat. Azula turned to get on board the Valor. Suddenly, a thermal detonator found it's way to her feet. Without hesitation, she whipped the orb back towards a group of Alliance soldiers. The blast incinerated them, leaving very little of a trace. Azula stepped onto Valor and slammed the bay door shut.

"Let's move onto the next objective." Azula ordered. The Valor turned tail and blasted it's way out of the hangar bay.

The battle felt as if it was at it's climax. So much debris floating about the battlefield. Life was being snuffed out in droves. Business as usual.

"There. Take me there." Azula pointed out an Alliance corvette that was still standing. The Valor pivoted through the battle, making it's way towards a FarStar-type. "We'll go in there, gather what intel we can and scuttle the ship."

Azula was not able to catch the big fish, but she would not be going home empty handed.

HUBRIS OF EMPIRES

Jand watched the Imperial fall, heard the defiant declaration, but it meant little to the Nagai.

Victory in combat was all that remained.

There had been the words from Corin, moments before the trooper had impaled his hand with a blade, to which Jand had caught; there had been a moment, perhaps, in the pale Padawan's mind that considered the plea something to be acted on, but that passed. Jand was on the path to becoming a Jedi, yes, he had a lot to work through when it came to the beliefs and philosophies of the Order - but when it came to fighting in a life or death combat, the Nagai would never hesitate to defeat an opponent, as they wouldn't him.

Ideology couldn't protect one from a fatal strike.

As Corin recovered, slumped on his back in the ice and snow and rocks, Jand regarded him. The Nagai retracted his longsword blade with a button press, then returned it to his belt, before he used that - now free - hand to reach over and hold his broken shoulder. The pain came in throbs, but movement meant a fresh wave of pain, so immobilizing it would be best. Jand's right side was also on fire, the wounds from the explosion numerous, as his tunic front was now - essentially - stained red from his blood. But for now, a moment after combat, to breathe and take stock.

Corin mentioned Jand's part in the fight, how he fought well.

"Yes, I know," Jand said simply, as he turned to look down the tunnel, toward the mining cavern. No threat was present. "You did, also. Next time, perhaps we could work in a more unified manner, to be more effective..."

The question was raised about Iris. Jand frowned.

"I do not believe she is," He said slowly, with some thought. He sought out her presence, that hopefulness from before, but it seemed to have gone. "I am not... as capable, with the Force, but I get the feeling she is close. Not dead. On the other side of the cave in, just there?"

Jand motioned with his head toward the cluster of rocks and boulders that closed off the way the Padawans had come. The Nagai tried to focus, to reach out as best he could, but it was difficult:

"And... someone else I am not familiar with. But there is no anger or hostility from that source."

With a sigh, Jand felt his connection to the Force waiver, then fall silent. But not before a feeling came over him:

"I believe we should leave this tunnel for the cavern ahead. A feeling. We will find Iris that way..."
