DESCRIPTION
The Tako'raas Duster is made from treated Maalraas leather. Insofar as aesthetics are concerned it appears like any other duster though the stitching may be more obvious than it would have been otherwise seeing as how Sars Sarad isn't an astute tailor. A Tako'raas Duster does impart several defensive capabilities and resistances to the wearer though alongside a unique camouflage ability.
The Duster is highly resistant to blasterfire and lightsaber blows dispersing the energy over an area of effect until it becomes harmless. It functions similarly when faced with attacks from sources of extreme heat, a wearer could use the duster to shield themselves against the blasts of a flamethrower without harm save for areas that remained unprotected by its cover. Due to the connection the Maalraas are known to have with the force affording them their name as Nighthunters the camouflage imbued in the creatures is transferred to the wearer of the duster. In darkness the wearer is barely distinguishable from the shadows.
Despite the abilities and resistances bestowed by the duster it is still a coat and carries several of the deficiencies inherent to such. It affords little protection against kinetic attacks and slugthrowers, bullets will rip through it with relative ease despite the fact that blasters and lightsabers are extremely less effective.

STRENGTHS
- Let em Burn: In life Maalraas, or Nighthunters are heavily resistant to both lightsabers and intense heat. The creatures, especially their scales are also highly resistant to blasterfire and are known to be able to deflect blaster shots. These resistances have largely transferred over to the Duster, especially its resistance to intense heat and the treated leather of the Maalraas can withstand bursts from a flamethrower without the wearer needing to fear being burnt.
- Darkness is my Friend: Wearing the duster allows any individual to draw on the camouflaging abilities of the Mallraas. In the darkness they are almost indistinguishable from the shadows until they decide to strike.
WEAKNESSES
- No Bullets: While the Duster does afford some amount of protection against kinetic attacks the hide of the Maalraas is tailored to disperse blasterfire and other energy based attacks such as those from lightsabers. Slugthrowers are a bane against the Duster and will rip through it without much difficulty.
