STRENGTHS
  • Electronic Warfare - In lieu of armor and shields, the Vahana is equipped with a electronic warfare suite that gives it an extra option against guided ordnance, in addition to sensor jamming capabilities.
  • Vahana Out of Nowhere - The Vahana is quite fast and with the additional option of its afterburners, it can achieve blistering, transonic speeds for a limited amount of time before the engine must undergo a heat discharge protocol.
  • Fire Concentration - Correcting the disadvantages of linked weaponry pertaining to concentration of fire at certain ranges, the Vahana utilizes an AI-governed fire concentration system that executes minute on-the-fly adjustments to the angle of the craft's fixed-forward weaponry, based on constant feedback from pilot input and targeting data. In effect, this system dynamically optimizes pattern harmonisation at all viable ranges, affording the Vahana's weapons greater accuracy and damage potential.
  • Field Disruption - The Vahana possesses a vehicle-grade field disruption system which allows it to traverse through conventional shields.
  • Hyper Dance - The Vahana is an extremely agile speeder bike. Its capabilities in this category are further enhanced by the Pentozali, allowing the craft to execute dazzling maneuvers that test the limits of physics, gravity, and the strength of its rider.
WEAKNESSES
  • Fragile - While it retains a moderate armament, the Vahana has paltry defenses, in addition to its fairing being entirely unarmored and presenting an exposed pilot. As such, it is vulnerable to small arms fire, not to mention larger, vehicle-grade weapons or emplacements.
  • Exposed Pilot - Although the Vahana is equipped with various utility shield systems to protect the rider from debris and other hazards, the shields are not rated for combat or kinetic projectiles. As such, the pilot is quite exposed to all manner of small arms fire and must depend on their armor or any other defensive systems on their person for protection against such threats.
  • Power Burn - The Vahana's afterburners can only be sustained for a limited amount of time due to its intense power demands and potential to overheat the engine. At maximum, the system can only be active for ten consecutive seconds before it is automatically shut off, at which point the engine must undergo a mandatory heat discharge protocol. In addition, the craft can not use its primary weapons while the afterburners are engaged.
  • Mechu-deru - An unspoken weakness of virtually all modern technology, the Vahana is vulnerable to the esoteric sorceries of Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. As such, a skilled practitioner of such arts can quickly disable the machine, provided that they have a direct line of sight to the craft.
  • Power Outage - As a machine that depends on a suite of complicated electronics to ensure optimal performance, EMP and/or Ion-based attacks will likely hamper the combat capability of the Vahana, especially as it is largely unprotected against these threats. While the severity of the damage will depend on the power quotient and proximity of the discharge to the craft, these attacks are nevertheless one of the many potential threats to the integrity of the Vahana.
DESCRIPTION
The FAE/V-08 "Vahana" Interceptor Speeder Bike is a high-performance craft designed and manufactured by First United Astral Engineering. It represents a fresh development harnessing the company's experience in designing swoops and speeder bikes, with the Vahana in particular fitting into the latter category, fitting into the role of an interceptor. Accordingly, the Vahana's design optimizes speed and maneuverability. Of note however is the fact that the Vahana is a extremely demanding craft to ride, with twitchy handling characteristics that have caused even experienced pilots to crash and speeds that tests the limits of the typical human reaction time. Unfortunately, it is not truly meant for civilians or those who only use speeder bikes for transport or scouting purposes (though such roles are still possible!), but rather, it is intended for specialized, highly-trained, and professional pilots who can harness the the craft as a lethal extension of their own bodies.

The Vahana has two modular primary weapon hardpoints and universal gas launchers, allowing operators to choose loadouts depending on their own preferences and the needs of a given mission.

All in all, the Vahana is designed to get the most out of the speeder bike platform, filling the role of a fast interceptor craft capable of engaging a variety of targets on the modern battlefield!
