OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Conceived after the development of the Spyglass, the Phase III “Dream Sight” Combat Electronics System takes advantage of technologies developed in the hull-mounted photoreceptor array of the Spyglass, and applies to a sensor and electronic system designed for ground-based units. Like the Spyglass, it takes advantage of a number of integrated data-brains which are responsible for reading, filtering, and analyzing sensor data on behalf of the operator, before delivering it to them in a concise fashion, typically via a HUD and/or computer-based sensor reader. For stealth applications, the Dream Sight can automatically enter a “Low-Feedback” mode which temporarily deactivates all active sensors, while leaving passive sensors operational. The system also incorporates a number of communication systems, all of which are shielded by various forms of encryption.
All in all, the Dream Sight is designed to enhance the awareness of its operators in the field, allowing them to potentially detect virtually anything short of especially advanced and rare stealth technologies.

- Skin Vision: Via an extensive array of micro-photo, audio, and olfactory reception sensors which are located on the exterior surface of its host platform, the Dream Sight affords the operator greatly enhanced awareness. These passive sensors are constantly monitored by the Dream Sight’s integrated data-brain, which filters out unneeded information via cross-referencing and instantaneous processing, before translating information that it “sees”, “hears”, or “smells” to the operator in a concise fashion. As such, this system is capable of perceiving units through various types of camouflage systems via the distortions and small environmental disturbances generated by these technologies, but more advanced and rare types of cloaking devices, especially those which create full invisibility, are still able to elude it. In addition, due to the passive nature of the passive reception array, they can remain active during stealth operations.
- Versatility: Possessing a number of sensors, the Dream Sight is capable of instantaneously cross-referencing data from other sensor types, allowing it to filter out false-positive readings and to quickly analyze information from the environment which warrants further examination.
- Surface Damage: In the event that the host platform sustains damage to its exterior surface, the effectiveness of the passive reception array will be diminished due to the destruction of a number of micro-sensors. However, unless the damage is severely catastrophic, the system will remain largely functional.
- Data-Brain: The Dream Sight depends on the functionality of its data-brain modules for operation. As such, in the event that they are disabled, destroyed, or otherwise nonfunctional, the information received from the system will be virtually unreadable to the operator, due to the lack of filtering, cross-referencing, and analysis which is otherwise executed by these systems.
