OOC INFORMATION
The Duchess II is the long overdue retrofit to Karl's originally designed Duchess-Class HSD. Most of the older First Order Systems have been replaced with newer technology; systems that seemed redundant or ineffective were replaced. Finding replacements for the First Order's outdated retaliator and despoiler turbolaser systems took a while but eventually were replaced with the fourth generation of Aurora Industries' Turbolaser line: the Ifrit. Additionally, the sextuple and quintuple mounts were removed to make room for the better Terminus Megamaser systems. Again, like Karl's Ten-Six the bastion point defense system was swapped out with the more advanced FAE/C-02 and FAE/S-06 systems, greatly increasing not only point defense accuracy but accuracy for all weaponry onboard. The ion engines and the reactor were swapped out with newer models, increasing speed, maneuverability, and power generation, and allowing for additional power storage.
Again, it is worth mentioning that, like its first iteration, this vessel is not a supporting ship, it is meant to be supported as a command ship or flagship of a fleet or battlegroup.

- Firepower: The way the hull slopes, and where the batteries are arranged gives the Duchess II unparalleled forward firepower. Additionally, with the upgraded weapons systems, it's an even larger threat than before. Potentially dishing out massively damaging barrages.
- Defense: The Duchess II has an impressive triple-redundant shielding suite, with additional quadanium plating around the hull, and seigurium-reinforced hardpoints.
- Protected Aft: The Duchess II has dedicated rear/aft-facing weaponry, making it less vulnerable to flanking ships.
- Speed: She's no fast cruiser but is decently fast for her weight class.
- Primary/Secondary Bridges: This vessel has two bridges capable of directing all ship systems. Only one is active at a time, and can only be activated once the other bridge has ceased function.
- HIMS: The Duchess II has a HIMS system to 'fight' against interdiction fields.
- Ventral Vulnerability: While the aft has dedicated weaponry, this updated design did not massively improve the underside protection only adding a handful of weapons to the already lame amount.
- Turning Speed: While the speed has increased from its predecessor, the Duchess II still turns slow.
- Victory Style Bridge: The bridge of the Duchess II is still inspired by the Victory's design, meaning it sticks out like a sore thumb. It has even better armor than the first design, but that doesn't mean that bombers won't, well, bomb it.
- EMP/Ion Blasts: This vessel is equipped with advanced systems that are a boon to its operation, but being hit with EMP/Ion weaponry, after the shields are down, can drastically decrease its overall effectiveness.
