- +Redundant Shielding: This Vessel has been equipped with a redundant shield. Even though it is quite weaker than the Capital Grade Shield, its still a shield and this means that the ship can take even more damage than standard Imperial vessels.

- +Exotic Weapons: Chiss-made megamasers have been installed with regular turbolasers. Thus giving this vessel an edge over other vessels that thought they were going to be facing another regular destroyer.
- +Fast...ish: Unlike other imperial-style destroyers, shes decently fast and can out pace other ships in her weight class.
- +Increase Forward Firepower: The way that the weapons are place and the way the hull slopes give the Duchess unparalleled forward firepower capabilities.
- -Ventral Vulnerability: While the aft is protected, the ventral side is only protected by a handful of turbolasers and point defense cannons. This leads to a badly defended reactor dome, even though it has three meters of quadanium steel armor.
- -Turning Speed: It may be a brute, but god, she cant turn fast at all.
- -Victory Style Bridge: The bridge of the Duchess, was designed after the Victory class of star destroyers. While it has superior armor plating to the rest of the ship, since it sticks out much farther than an imperial style bridge it is more of a target of constant bombardments.
- -Exotic Weapons: While having an advantage with megamasers, it also comes with a disadvantage. If a megamaser was to malfunction or be disabled it would be out of the fight completely due to our engineers lack of understanding of the Chiss-made technology.
The Duchess was designed to be a hard hitting, but faster than normal HSD. The weapons placements and the sloping on the hull allow for unparalleled forward firepower. The ship has a good complement of six squadrons. Though there are multiple weapon placements in the trench and on the dorsal side, there is only a handful of weapons protecting the underside. This is not meant to be a supporting ship, but rather a ship to be supported as the flagship of a fleet or battlegroup.
