DESCRIPTION

While once used almost exclusively in the scientific and industrial sectors, Kerts-Bhrg Field technology has slowly begun to creep into military sectors throughout the galaxy as the once-rare Solar Ionization Weapons have become more and more prevalent throughout numerous navies. One common adaptation of this technology is to merge these fields with military or industrial grade ray shielding in a hex-grid pattern around a starship. While these shields do allow a starship to safely venture closer to a star than traditional shielding, be it for scientific, industrial, or tactical reasons, they do not allow a starship to safely enter a star's corona (such as what the rare Sundiver Field enables). Instead, the primary use for these shields is to simply equip a starship with shields that can protect against weaponized light-waves, in addition to protecting against the more traditional plasma and particle based weapon technology seen throughout the galaxy.
