ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Silent Predator: The Shev'la'galaar's powerful electronic warfare systems, cloaking device and passive stealth measures (both against sensors and the force) make it damn near invisible against it's background no matter who is looking, enabling the pilots to set the pace of engagements, striking and fading at their leisure.
  • Fast, Agile Hunter: The Shev'la'galaar is both fast and agile, and with its SLAM and Redalur system, it can boost it's maneuverability and speed further, albeit at the expense of other systems.
  • Heavily Armed, Heavily Armored: The Shev'la'galaar is built like a tank, designed to take an absolute punishment from its enemies. Fortunately, it doesn't have to. The gunship's powerful weapons enable it to strike hard against a wide variety of targets.
  • Keen Eyes: The gunship has a powerful sensor suite, including anti-stealth sensors that when combined with it's Manda tactical battlenet module give it considerable tracking and targeting capabilities, as well a notable ability to be able to analyze enemy craft to potentially attempt to ascertain any sort of weaknesses that it might have.
  • What Gravity Well?: The gunship's Hyperdrive-Navicomputer Module's integrated Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer enable it to avoid being pulled out of hyperspace.
WEAKNESSES
  • Boom: Like the Vuhyr'galaar that it was based off, the Shev'la'galaar carries a lot of ordnance, if a shot penetrates the armor and reaches the ordnance storage with enough energy left to detonate something, then it's very likely that the gunship will be destroyed entirely in the ensuing detonation of that ordnance and the following sympathetic detonation of the remaining ordnance.
  • What Force?: With the voidstone plated hull, there is no way the pilots of the craft can benefit from allies who're force sensitive in any way whatsoever. Abilities that are a great benefit like battle meditation are essentially pointless to the pilots, crew and passengers of these craft.
  • Shield, Cloak or Field Disruptor: The gunship cannot have it's cloaking device, shield generator and field disruptor on at the same time and must choose one system. Though switching between them is fast, there is still enough of a delay that keen enemies can potentially exploit the open window.
  • Large Target: The gunship is a large target, and while it's a very resilient craft, it's size does mean it will potentially take more fire than other gunships and eventually defenses can be worn down or simply invalidated by massed weapons fire or particularly powerful weapons.
  • Outnumbered: With only one turret protecting the rear and the dorsal approaches, being outnumbered is a real concern for the Shev'la'galaar.
DESCRIPTION
"It's what comes after that I'm not overly fond of."
- Smuggler after being intercepted by Shev'la'galaar Gunship Galaar 1-1.
Designed for and exclusively made us of by Strill Securites Special Operations squadron pilots to transport and support elite commando teams, all Shev'la'galaar gunships start life as a Vuhyr'galaar frame prior to the significant modifications done to make it suitable to perform the role it needs to perform. Like the Vuhyr'galaar that it is based on, the commandos that make use of the gunship do tend to use it to board vessels as well, and more than one Vuhyr'yaliyr ramikade owe their lives to the last minute intervention of a Shev'la'galaar gunship.
The Shev'la'galaar boasts a powerful, jam resistant, long-range communications suite ensuring effective coordination with other craft and ground teams. In the business of covert operations, a lapse in communications or an intercepted message can result in operation failure, and worse. It is for this reason that the gunship boasts its own powerful communications jamming capabilities including but not limited to full hyperwave jamming over a large area.
Replacing the RHM-04 guns that would usually be mounted on the turrets of a Vuhyr'galaar gunship, the Shev'la'galaar features instead AC-04X accelerator cannons, whose versatility and lack of dependence on ammunition are ideal for use on a gunship such as this. The Vuhyr'galaar's four MMOL-02 launchers make a return on the Shev'la'galaar, giving it an impressive array of missiles it can potentially carry into battle for use against a wide variety of targets. Rounding out the arsenal is a pair of fighter-grade heavy jamming beams and tractor/pressor beams. Just as in the Vuhyr'galaar, the guns are overseen by gunners, who can assign priority targets to the droid brains, choose target engagement order or even engage manual override and fire the weapons themselves from their station in the cockpit.
The Shev'la'galaar's powerful electronic warfare systems, cloaking device and passive stealth measures (both against sensors and the force) make it damn near invisible against it's background no matter who is looking, enabling the pilots to set the pace of engagements, striking and fading at their leisure. If engaged, the Shev'la'galaar is built like a tank, designed to take an absolute punishment from its enemies. That said, it doesn't have to. If the Shev'la'galaar cannot outlast or outfight it's enemies, it can sure leave them in it's wake, with its SLAM and Redalur system, it can boost it's maneuverability and speed further.
There are, however, a few notable flaws. Like the Vuhyr'galaar that it was based off, the Shev'la'galaar carries a lot of ordnance, if a shot penetrates the armor and reaches the ordnance storage with enough energy left to detonate something, then it's very likely that the gunship will be destroyed entirely in the ensuing detonation of that ordnance and the following sympathetic detonation of the remaining ordnance. With the voidstone plated hull, there is no way the pilots of the craft can benefit from allies who're force sensitive in any way whatsoever. Abilities that are a great benefit like battle meditation are essentially pointless to the pilots, crew and passengers of these craft. The gunship cannot have it's cloaking device, shield generator and field disruptor on at the same time and must choose one system. Though switching between them is fast, there is still enough of a delay that keen enemies can potentially exploit the open window. The gunship is a large target, and while it's a very resilient craft, it's size does mean it will potentially take more fire than other gunships and eventually defenses can be worn down or simply invalidated by massed weapons fire or particularly powerful weapons. Finally, with only one turret protecting the rear and the dorsal approaches, being outnumbered is a real concern for the Shev'la'galaar.
