SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Advanced Power Management: The Argu'a possess advanced power management systems powered by a heuristically processing droid brain allows for advanced power management. The system will monitor power consumption and can divert power either from or simply to certain ship systems.
  • Advanced Diagnostics Suite: The Argu'a's droid brain is fully capable of diagnosing any and all issues with the reactor, making maintenance far easier. While it is possible that it might make a misdiagnosis, the system will learn from its mistakes thanks to its heuristic droid brain.
  • Manda Tactical Battlenet Compatibility: The Argu'a supports full compatibility with the Manda tactical battlenet, allowing the two devices to cooperate and set power management if configured to do so, though the default power setting is to allow the pilot to do so.
  • Emergency Shutdown: Should the reactor be close to overload or meltdown, the management system is designed to shut it down and purge the fuel from the chamber.
  • Emergency Ejection: Should worse come to worst and the emergency shutdown prove to be non-functional, the system will perform an emergency ejection of the reactor.
STRENGTHS
  • High Power Generation: Isotope-5 reactors can generate immense amounts of power, allowing for the use of extremely power hungry systems, or the diversion of the extra power to boost other systems.
  • Extremely Efficient: Isotope-5 can be used to generate power with minimal fuel given the material's predictable distortion of gravity and electromagnetic fields.
  • Stable: Stabilized Isotope-5 is just that, stable. This makes the reactor far less susceptible to overloads and meltdowns, and means that the spare fuel isn't essentially bomb waiting to go off.
  • Ion/EMP Resistant: Aside from the properties of Isotope-5, the Argu'a is very well protected against EMP/Ion damage, thanks to the agrinium mesh, reinforced duraplast plating, cap drain and combat de-ionizers.
WEAKNESSES
  • Isotope-5: Isotope-5 is a rare material, and while extremely efficient, it's unlike that one would find Isotope-5 at the neighbourhood friendly shadowport.
  • Breach: Should the reactor's casing be breached, it will leak deadly radiation and will experience severe power fluctuations.
  • Devastating Overload: Should the reactor overload and meltdown, the resulting explosion is nothing short of devastating, completely and utterly annihilating whatever craft or vehicle it is mounted on.
  • Expert Maintenance: Isotope-5 reactors have more in common with hypermatter annihilation reactors than they do with ionization reactors found on most starfighters, as such, the technician maintaining this reactor must be familiar with its maintenance process lest they do more harm than good.
  • Design: Given the material's distortion of gravity and electromagnetic fields, careful attention has to be paid to where such a reactor is mounted on a ship or vehicle, lest it affect repulsors or magnetic accelerator weapons.
DESCRIPTION
While for a while buying Isotope-5 was acceptable, Breshig Hypernautics eventually realized that the cost of an R&D project to figure out how to artificially develop the radioisotope from Illerium just might be cheaper. Years of work, blood, sweat, tears and a few deaths finally yielded a viable method to synthesize Isotope-5. Which of course, needed a reactor to use said fuel. Seeking to bring their older design into the modern era, Breshig Hypernautics started work on the Argu'a, or Inferno in basic. Not the most encouraging name when one thinks about the consequences of a reactor overload, but nonetheless the reactor project was designated so. Work on the project wasn't complete until after the merger. Even so, it was received extremely well by the company, and the team was immediately put to work on a new reactor for frigate and larger ships, creatively designated the Ori'argu'a.

The Argu'a possessed a number of advanced features that gave it an edge against competitive reactors, such as an advanced power management system, advanced diagnostic suite, compatibility with the Manda tactical battlenet, emergency shut-off and emergency ejection of the reactor should the former feature prove to be non-functional. To be able to operate these features, an advanced droid brain with a heuristic processor and gabonna memory crystal was installed. Breshig War Forge Consolidated is confident that the systems they installed make the reactor one of the more advanced models available on the market.

No expense was spared as far the actual construction of the reactor itself. With a duravlex inner layer, agrinium mesh, duranium frame construction and reinforced duraplast construction, the reactor is extremely sturdy. Not to mention the cap drains and combat de-ionizers that keep it safe from EMP/Ion weapons. In addition, the entire reactor is cooled by a cryoban cooling system augmented by a plas-bonded ostrine layer. This keeps the reactor nice and cool, preventing any strain on the frame or deck of the ship due to high temperatures.

One of the main problems with an Isotope-5 reactor is the rarity of the material itself when compared to other fuels. Of course, this is largely offset by the fact that Isotope-5 is extremely efficient. Even so, it's highly unlikely to be able to find Isotope-5 at a shadowport or most regular ports. The other issue is that given Isotope-5's penchant for distorting gravity and electromagnetic distortions, careful attention has to be paid when mounting the reactor, which is more of a problem when it comes to retrofitting a ship than it is really when designing one with the intention of fitting it with a Argu'a reactor. The other real disadvantage of the reactor's design is that it is far more complicated to maintain than the majority of reactors placed in small craft.

Even so, the reactor has seen successful use in several Breshig War Forge Consolidated designs, as has its larger cousin. The company expects that once production can be fully restarted in the aftermath of the mass exodus from Breshig as a result of the Sith invasion, it will continue to see success on the market.
