The Outer Rim was a host to many worlds, some developed, others far flung and developing. Many with resources that all can use, and yet others with very rare properties. The world known only as Taida, was a mundane world, polar caps and a temperate, savannah set up. The world was more than met the eye, though, struck from the ancient Jedi archives and not discovered by the Empire, it was dotted with caves full of kyber crystals.

And not only kyber crystals, the world has a small Force aura to itself. An aura that tends to take an effect where many of the world were connected to the Anima of it, the Force for those with training in it. Not necessarily always to the extent of an average Jedi Knight, or Sith Warrior, but definitely enough to join the Service Corps of the former. But every so often one child rises to the levels that have attracted attention of others.

These others being a group of Sith Outlaws, raiding small settlements of the world, stealing the youth, taking crystals from the caves. They call it ‘the Harvest’ and there is only so much that the natives of Taida can do to predict it. However the world does send signs, and the elders are reading them in the winds, in the agriculture… And the signs were obvious now.

Several ships were sent out, in various direction, lead by the Force to find whoever they felt could protect the settlement, looking for warriors, warriors to defend, while the Outlaws were moving on the world. It was still probably several days before the Sith arrived, the villagers used webs of Kyber and their connection to the Anima to defend against larger electric systems found in starships and anything really larger than a swoop.

As the heroes were finding their way to the settlement, and being greeted by elders, explaining what the outlaws were doing, what they came for during The Harvest… All the while the Outlaws loading up swoops, with the specific target in mind, lead by the Force and their own rotation of the various settlements…

Here is the Seven Samurai esque thread. Two teams, the heros, collected and brought to the village mere days before Outlaws arrive. Outlaws are Sith and Sith Adjacent. We have a village with a cave for crystals, and the layout of a small Western town, complete with hotel, saloon, bank (for kyber and Outer Rim Talons). Lets take a few days, and get an intro, how were you found and approached to help protect the settlement, if you’re on the Outlaws, are you raiding for prestige? For money?

Will post again in a few days to keep us moving!

This was certainly further removed from where he might normally operate, and a more abnormal task, but he had up-taken it nevertheless. The Selkath took his ship the Aiwha, visually a reletively unimpressive ship of mon calamari appearance, to the planet. He had heard about the situation, and felt the need to help. There were always problems to be solved and not all would be personal. Perhaps there was something he might bring to the table, he was still a force sensitive, even with somewhat less common methods of combat. If he was sought out, then he would answer so long as he was able.

He adorned his armor, hiding his lightsaber away and instead taking a common blaster at his side. It didn't make him stand out too far and hopefully as such he might not be taken for anything out of the ordiniary, neither his ship nor armor were particularly odd. He did however lessen his presence in the force, hoping to mask it should any enemies be sensitive to such things. There was always that risk.

And so he entered to speak to the elders, and any others who might come to aid them, if they knew the target, it'd make life far easier, traps could be set. Not perhaps his preferred method, but fear could sometimes be a motivator to re-consider ones targets, that however would be a decision for others to make. Not him alone. He entered and removed his helmet revealing the long moist head of a Selkath. Opening his mouth for the unusual sounding voice, though still speaking basic, "I'm Sinn, tell me what you can, and let's get planning. Or wait until more arrive. I'm certainly willing to help however I can, but until I know the situation more fully, I can't make many promises." while fairly confident in his own abilities, this wasn't his traditional style of solving a problem. It put him somewhat out of his element, and that meant he has even more factors to deal with.

"What does the Dark One command of me?"

The Quarren was prostrate, knobby forehead pressed firmly against the sullen dirt of the tent. His breathing was shallow, his chest heaving with barely restrained exhilaration. Rare was a communique from those that stood at the foot of the Dark One's throne, let alone one so spoken with fear and revulsion among the lesser priesthood.

Blue light bathed the bowing figure, the tent otherwise consumed by pervasive darkness. The light emanated from a holographic projector welded to a large heap of metal vaguely resembling the shape of a throne. None were allowed to sit upon the edifice, such blasphemy was punishable by death.

It was for the Holy alone.

"The Dark One bids thee raise thine weapon, Squall-Born," the deep sophisticated voice rumbled from the blue silhouette that sat upon the throne, a shadowy figure that noticeably possessed not one but two distinct heads. Though both were cloaked in partial shadow, they were unmistakable. One was the head of an Abyssin, the owner of the recently spoken words. The other was that of a Snivvian, their eyes blazing with the fire of madness.

"Death, death, death!" squealed the Snivvian head in ecstatic fervor, "The Great Master wants death! Death to all that lives!" Strands of spittle, visible even through the choppy light of the hologram, spewed from the Snivvian's mouth with every syllable. The Abyssin only looked partially annoyed and did not deign to commentate on his counterpart's severe lack of decorum.

"I am but an instrument of the Dark One, point me to those that must die and it will be done."

"The Dark One demands you take your ravagers to the Outer Rim world of Taida. It is rural and backwater, no presence of the galactic powers endures. Cultists of the Crescent Moon have camped there to harass and plunder the local villages, ignorant to the true prize that lurks below." "Fools and jesters, all blinded by the veil. To pull it back would invite madness." "Kyber crystals. The Master's Oracle confirms their existence on Taida. Go there and ensure that the crystals fall into the Master's hands."

"It will be done, in the Dark One's name. By His Will Shall We Eclipse The Stars."

The hologram flickered off, leaving the Quarren alone in the gloom. He wasted no time in rising to his feet, reaching for the mask that he had discarded in the presence of the Dark One's chosen emissary. He affixed it to his face before he emerged from the tabernacle, striding briskly across the campgrounds as the others of his band quickly congregated around him to hear the words of the Master.

"We leave for Taida within the hour, the Master will tolerate no delays. There will be plunder, a Chancellor's ransom worth of Kyber crystals awaiting us. Let us go forth and reave in His name, for the glory of the Dark One!" A rancorous cheer arose from the marauders, several lightsabers ignited in jubilation to stain the air with their crimson crackle. The crowd quickly dispersed, the camp deconstructing rapidly as various vessels rose up into the air and disappeared into the upper atmosphere.

The ships would reappear above Taida, drawn there by the coordinates provided by the Dark One's chosen. They would descend and land in an isolated clearing in the temperate woodlands, concealed by the vastness of the untamed wilderness.

Soon they would strike forth and butcher in His name.

For His glory.

For His hunger.

"Sorry buddy, but can you stay with the ship this time? I've got a bad feeling."

Kahlil gently patted the dome of his droid companion, who whined in protest. But R6 wouldn't complain for long. The planet had an interesting defense against larger ships, and the last thing either of them needed was to end up stranded. The droid let out a low beep as it rolled up the ramp, leaving the Jedi with his escort. They exchanged a nod before mounting up on a speeder to head off towards the village.

The news hit him hard. A planet where kyber and force sensitives were stolen? How often had that happened in the Empire? Worse, how many times had he ended up helping? His lips thinned as he gripped at the controls of his own speeder. This was a chance to do better. To help those who needed it. He let out a sigh, clearing his mind. Trying to relax. It was Sith, yes, but it wasn't like it was his father behind it all. Small steps.

At least the trip was uneventful. It did give him a good idea of just what he was going to be protecting and what he had to work with. A village, a far cry from the metropolis he was used to seeing on other worlds. Not even a space port. There was going to be plenty questions to ask soon enough. For now he entered the room with the Elder's, offering a respectful nod.

"I'm here to help."

As the ship settled into the sediment, Caltin looked around as he walked down the loading ramp. The town was small and really “backwater”, not that this was a bad thing. For the most part, they looked to be happy and lived fruitful lives. That is what was bringing him here, why the Force was pulling him. Right? Not important at the moment as while he wanting to pull out his bike and go for a ride, something was withholding that.

Get in the air, Keep an eye out. Be safe.

The words to his astromech were simple enough, “Roller” was not the type to want to go on adventures anyway. This was going to be one, but he had to be “on his game” for it. There was talk of impending raids that were going to go down. Caltin didn’t like bullies. He didn’t care about the rumored caves of kyber crystals.

Well… not exactly…

They were important, and a unique facet to the settlement’s allure, yes, but they were not why he was getting himself ramped up. The people of this town deserved to live their lives in their own way and not worry on a day-to-day basis who is going to come in and sack them. So he would be what he was known for, Caltin would be the boulder that blocks any rumored Raider’s path to obtaining their bounty.

Walking into town, he could see some gathered. There were Jedi there, others as well. It looked like this was where he was supposed to be. “Music”, his pilot droid chirped that the ship was high overhead and had eyes on him.

Someone want to fill me in?

Cryx adjusted the stock on his A280C and slung it over his shoulder as he stepped down the ramp of the small freighter as he strode down the road. The badge of the Rimward Ranger Corps glinted in the sunlight along the dust-coated town.

The air was still and crackled with tension. He wasn't too keen on engaging in what could turn into a pitched engagement. He was a spy, and technically a Jensaarai, but primarily acted as a Disciple of Twilight.

Stealth, illusions, mentalism, and infiltration were his specialties, but the Wild Knights were not yet ready for ground deployment. Exceptional pilots, but they weren't ready yet for acting as a rapid reaction team to counter Sith and the Dark Side. He was an ORION attache to the squadron, and thus sent ahead to engage the situation and resolve the issue.

Others had come, from all across the galaxy. He recognized Sinn Shak Sinn Shak as another Jensaarai and had heard of Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor . It was, after all, his job as an intelligence agent. He nodded to Sinn and Kahlil and Caltin.

"Cryx Tillian. Rimward Ranger Corps, Wild Knights Special Ranger Squadron attache." He adjusted the bandolier of thermal detonators and explosive charges. "Heard there were raiders."

Objective: Loot and Burn the Village

The camp echoed in raucous cheers and bloodthirsty howls with the proclamation of plunder. Restraining the urge to add her voice to the savage chorus, the silence of Tempest Squadron stood in stark contrast to the savagery of the reavers. And yet, SF-3335 could not help but to envy them. Having been conditioned in an environment of silent, eerily-robotic military discipline, the young strand-cast admired not only the marauders’ unflinching faith in His Eclipsing Mission, but also their fiery passion.

For that reason, she sought to earn their respect.

The reavers quickly worked to break camp, loading up supplies, vehicles, and other equipment into their ships with the smoothness of well-oiled gears, their vessels translating into hyperspace within the hour. The strand-cast detachments were just as fast, wasting no time as they filed into Muur-class transports.

By the time the small raiding force translated over Taida, SF-3335 was suited up in her protective uniform and waiting on her speeder bike within the holding bay. Before long, the transport lurched as it came down within the isolated clearing, some distance out from the village that was their target. Then, the bay doors slowly shifted open to reveal the woodlands surrounding the landing area. Her breath was held suspended in her chest as her bike’s engine howled to life, the vibrations in the pillion a relaxing, yet thrilling sensation that set her senses on edge.

Then, as her bike’s engines unleashed a sudden, mechanical scream, she fired the machine out the bay and into the woods.

Seeking to earn the respect and fear of those among the raiders who might have doubted the capabilities of the strand-casts, she intended to be among the first to strike the village.

A refugee, that was what people called him. It wasn’t quite the truth. Having been around the world of Dac when the Sith Empire came calling and the powers of the Light couldn’t win the day, the Sith brought control, and he had seen it happen time and again. The Jedi allowed for the galaxy to make their own choices, but time and again are shown that the galaxy shouldn’t be making their own choices.

That was where Warrior Mero Dusk stepped in. Having been seen the might of the Sith Empire, and what control and order they brought, the Mirialan had stepped into service of the Empire as a Dark Jedi Adept. Not quite a Sith, not worried on the dogma of what the order was. That was why he was here, landing among some of the Sith and prepping long guns, hunter-seeker probe droids, and his orange bladed lightsaber, the Mirialan understood that this was a collection mission.

If Kyber and Force Sensitives were freed by the Jedi, allowed to cause their brand of chaos in the galaxy? Who knew what untold damage they would allow.

“We will not fail the Dark One.” The Mirialan had said as he nodded to the Quarren. His shuttle was just him, an infiltrator, full of all his toys. The landing wouldn’t be long, but the Dark Warrior was ready. He knew that it would be the swoop having to get him there quickly. The flight down and unloading to the swoop wouldn’t take long.

He wouldn't have to remain alone for long. Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble would join soon after, another seemed to be here as well, Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor . Certainly he had assumptions about them being run over, possibilities on their skill, allegiances, motivations, and capabilities, anything that seemed valuable. He returned the nod to Cryx Tillian Cryx Tillian in particular, and recognized the potential use of explosives in the situation. He'd have a far easier time noting the Tillians and other members of the Rimward Trade league and Jensaarai then he did with Kahlil or Caltin.

He chose to reintroduce himself to the newcomers, "Sinn, Force Adept." He said simply, not sure yet how willing he was to give away all about him at once. Certainly Cryx could know, however he was not sufficiently familiar with the others to make the certainty that he should let it all out, "We have raiders, haven't been told anything new since I got here. But, care will need to be taken. Whether by scaring them off, or taking them down completely, we should know."

Joy. "Raiders".

There had to be more to this than that. No doubt that was why he was here. Even if there wasn't anything more than what he was brought here for, Caltin was here, and he wasn't going to depart without the situation returning to some sense of normalcy. Whatever that was these days. The rumors of some blasted raiders coming in were problematic because there was no intel on their size or capabilities. There was some reconnaissance that needed to be completed, or at least there needed to be the capability for it.

Pointing up, he simply pointed out.

I have eyes in the sky. At least for now.

"Raiders?" Inwardly he let out a sigh of relief. Raiders were far easier to deal with than some Dark Side cultists or Sith. At least then it was more likely they were stealing the kyber crystals for profit instead of for lightsabers or such. Kahlil gave a small nod towards Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor and Cryx Tillian Cryx Tillian as they entered. More help was always a welcome thing. "Kahlil." No, no need to drop his last name. Never know what strangers would do when they learned it, after all.

"Eyes in the sky'll make it easier figuring out their resources. Do you know where their camp is, Elder?"
