Ever since there had been weapons, there had been attempts to counter them - armour had come a long way from thick hides or metal plates, but the basic principles have remained more or less unchanged throughout aeons of warfare. Where most modern armour has gone the way of the Stormtrooper, with protective plating aplenty, the first product of Globex's newly-launched Diamondskin-series aims to be the opposite of this.
Providing perfectly average protection in a sleek, unobtrusive package, the showroom models (see header image) have at times been referred to as "skinsuits" due to their smoothly tight-fitting nature; in practice, police, soldiers, and spacers alike have tended to prefer "something with pockets".
