Major Faction Application The Elysium Empire- Major Faction Application

Second King of The Elysium Empire
Valiens Nantaris Valiens Nantaris

Name: The Elysium Empire
OOC Heirarchy:
IC Hierarchy:
  • Form of Government: Constitutional Monarchy
    • The Government: The Elysium Empire is not strictly a Constitutional Monarchy. The King has almost absolute power, however there is a constitution, a Senate, and a Council.
      • King: The King of The Elysium Empire has absolute authority in almost all things. However, he may not directly alter the constitution; that duty is given to The Senate.
        • Council: The Council advises both The King, and The Senate. They may advise the king directly at any time, and represent the senate and citizens of The Empire. Furthermore, Any member of the council may directly propose a law to The King, who will then either accept or veto the bill.
          • Senate: The Senate is the largest ruling body in The Elysium Empire. It can have infinite members. The Senate proposes laws to The King. Unlike The Council, The Senate requires a simple majority to propose a law.
  • The Constitution
    • Planetary Autonomy: The Elysium Constitution gives planets under Imperial rule certain rights. Among these rights are:
    • The Right to a militia: Every planet is given the right to maintain a militia to defend against internal and external threats.
    • The Right to an independent judicial system: The Right for a planet to maintain its' judicial system once joining The Empire
    • Personal Rights: The Constitution gives many personal rights that shall not be infringed. Among these rights are:
    • The Freedom of Speech
    • The Right to bear arms
    • The Right to freely practice any religion

  • The Military
    • Navy: The Elysium Empire has a strong naval heritage due to existing for years as just a nomadic fleet of refugees and outdated military ships. Therefore members of The Navy are treated with utmost respect by most citizens of The Empire. The navy is also prioritized by The Government in recruitment drives, propaganda, diplomatic posturing, military action, and production.
    • Army: The Army of The Elysium Empire is made up of three things: Volunteers, Veterans, and Mercenaries. While veterans and volunteers are respected, the public has differing views on the mercenaries of The Empire. Many think it is unpatriotic to hire soldiers, and thus frown on mercenaries. To make things worse, the mercenaries often show disrespect, and break the rules. However The Army is generally held in high regard.

Description: The Elysium Empire is a monarchy established by Heath Valhoun. The Elysium Empire institutes a unique ideology that combines the best of The Galactic Empire and The New Republic, and removes the failed ideas from each nation. For example The Elysium Empire believes in a strong leader, a strong military, and an emphasis on order. However it also gives planets autonomy, and gives citizens certain freedoms such as the right to practice any religion, including Force-centric religions and cults like The Jedi Order.

The Elysium Empire was formed when Heath Valhoun took his militia into The unknown regions. During his adventure he studies galactic history, and developed his own ideas...the base ideas of The Elysium Empire. However he had no followers outside of his militia until he found an ancient fleet, inhabited by descendants of The First Galactic Empire. With supporters and an ideology, Heath began to return home. That is when he discovered a hidden laboratory owned by Andreus Veinstein. Following his council's advice, Andreus Veinstein struck a deal with Valhoun. He would support The Empire.

With funds, a following, and a solid ideology, Heath finally returned home and declared The Elysium Empire.

However things were not easy. The Empire struggled for years, but finally mustered just enough strength to attack The Agents of Chaos, and fulfil a promise from The King's Speech. The attack was a technical victory. The Empire was able to push The Agents of Chaos out of a vital diamond mine, but it could not defend the mine. Instead the mines were raided and abandoned. The diamonds gave an economic boost to The Empire, while the stalemate was framed as a grand victory in Imperial propaganda campaigns. This was the first major turning point for The Empire.

The next year, The Empire created its' own currency. An exchange was set up and citizens turned in their galactic credits for the new Elysium Imperial Credits. This bolstered the treasury massively as an influx of credits arrived. Meanwhile King Valhoun made a play to win hearts and minds. He passed a law to address The Bryn'adul threat, and formed a taskforce to combat the Bryn. In the shadows however, Valhoun was giving in to corruption. He made alliances with The Shadow Triumvirate, and Broka The Hutt. While neither alliance lasted long, Heath Valhoun had given in to Arken Dobson, allowing the man to control the economy, and slowly dig into The Empire like a tick.

A year later, The Empire exploded with growth.

Heath Valhoun and Rowena Arenais arranged a marriage between Heath's adopted son Rex-The Heir to The Empire- and Rowena's niece, The Owner of MandalArms, Loreena Arenais. This marriage gave The Empire access not only to MandalArms and its' companies, but also brought massive political influence to House Valhoun, especially among Mandalorians. Meanwhile Heath worked to secure a deal with The Geonosian Cruk Tuk, bringing the production power of Katitik Hive into The Empire.

Militarily, The Victory of Sev Tok...the first major victory for coalition forces against the Bryn'adul in over a year, was the first battle against the Bryn the Empire took place in. This of course led to propaganda. Meanwhile The Empire took a pro-refugee stance, actively transporting refugees from Bryn space, Battleground planets, and planets under threat of Maw invasion....and of course Chiss refugees from Csilla. The final factor of growth for The Empire was the gifting of Spindle VI to The Empire by Mercenary-General Monkrove Moldova.

With a coalition of companies backing it, an overflowing treasury, a renewed military, and a boom of growth, The Empire is flourishing.

The Pitch: The Elysium Empire deserves major faction status because we have been building up to it for over a year now. We have a good group of dedicated writers, a lot of lore backing our rise to power, custom ships, armor, and weapons for our story, and a goal to interact with Chaos and help make it a better site in doing so.
